Costa Coffee Drive Thru in Nottingham

We called in as traffic was horrendous. I used the disabled toilet which had seen better days. No paper,hand dryer switched off which i reported. Hot drinks average, had to ask for one to be topped up as looked like half measure,cakes average. Place was untidy,vacant tables not cleared of previous user's cups. Biggest gripe is individual students taking up tables meant for four people. Shan't be calling in here again. Automatic door not working either.

Oh my word. In the words of my husband "I don't think I've ever eaten in a dirtier, more unpleasant café. They weren't busy but no one would acknowledge me or take my order." There wasn't a single clear table here. Not one member of staff had attempted to tidy up, though only one person was on drive-through queue and only 4 or 5 people were eating inside. It's probably why several people decided to take out in the cold! Every surface had plates, cups and trays stacked upon them. It's no wonder we couldn't find a tasty to use at the serving counter. The food was OK - tea and cake, but the staff were mostly disinterested in their customers and the environment was disgusting. A very unsatisfactory experience. Would love to see what a Mystery Shopper makes of this place!

It was a cold day so it was very busy inside. Only seats left were buy the drafty door. Did manage to get a better table in the end. Service was fine (clinical), tea, coffee and cake their usual standard. I'm sure the cake sizes are getting smaller which is dissapointing. It was since to see some folk studying at a few of the tables. Missed out on their Friday deal of a drink and cake for £1. I'll look out for that next time... Oct 2024 update. On the majority of our previous visits the cutlery from previous customers has not been cleared away and the tables were left in a mess for new customers. However tody this was not the case. It was busy and the staff seemed to be making an extra effort clearing tables and wiping them down ready for new customers. I'm hopeful this new clearing regime will continue. Staff very friendly. Rating not changed. Still 4 stars.

I have been attending Costa Castle Marina for over 10 years, since Covid the staff professionalism and competencies and levels of service have declined to a whole new level. I was attempting to give my order to a member of staff only to be completely ignored as they were working on their headsets speaking to colleagues and the drive-through. Sohm call it progress I call it the height of rudeness and professionalism, I do not care that you are getting four peoples workload from one person by using technology and AI. I shall never return to Costa again. Your service stinks avoid castle Marina as all they Seemed interested in is their takeaway service and Deliveroo basic politeness courtesy and professionalism to their in-house. Customers seems to be a thing of the past

Orders are always a bit wrong sometimes good but usually something is incorrect. If you want food make sure you get the M&S options

Too busy to get in. Why do we even want coffee in a giant car park. Please put some coffee shops in nice places. The canal side is 400m away.

I've been a loyal Costa customer for years, but my recent visit to this branch was extremely disappointing. The barista who took my order was indifferent at best. When I went to sit down, I had to clear a dirty table myself, despite a Costa employee seeing the mess and making no effort to clean it. To top it off, the bathroom was filthy. This is far below the usual Costa standard, and I won’t be returning to this location.

The staff are always pleasant and helpful. We visit on a regular basis and the staff are always cheerful. Thank you.

Small but nice Costa. Has a drive through and an outdoor seating area. Fast friendly service. Good cakes and drinks

Used drive through both drinks we ordered were as ordered and hot Hot choc with cream + Mocca with oat milk

Hot chocolate was fine , coca cola was expensive Toilets were in unsanitary conditions and were in need for serious cleaning , the hand dryer wouldn't turn off so it had to be turned off from the wall socket , this was a disappointing visit as I normally expect high quality from the Costa brand

Standard Costa with drive thru and plenty of parking. Went on a Saturday afternoon so was busy with shoppers and locals. Ordered a mix of drinks and food. Came quick enough despite the queues. Only criticism would be the table was really untidy from the previous guests and staff didn’t clean it - but gave us a cloth to clean it ourselves!

Drive thru both times so unable to comment on inside. But service was good and efficient and drinks were spot on

Coffee is becoming more and more bitter . It seems to be a new theme for Costa across the board at the minute. This was my final visit I won't be back again. Once again the place was filthy at opening time in the morning. I had to clean my own table. It's a shame as Ive been a regular for more than 5 years.

Closing too early on Sundays plus while you sitting trying to do some work the staff cleaning and making loud noise it’s like they can’t wait for the customers to leave the shop. They should wait for customer to leave then start cleaning

Dirty low atmosphere in fact the whole coffee retail irritable. Left with a headache and a irritable disappointing today floor's disgusting avoid staff a little confused over basic instruction. Overall horrible unable to lower value disappointded never. Bye.

This Costa has had a refurb so it's a much cleaner, brighter coffee shop to be in. It does get really busy so be prepared to wait on weekends.

Being a massive fan of Costa.. I'm not a fan of this one which is a shame as it's our nearest one. Constantly crazy busy. Filthy tables. Pots everywhere. Disgusting toilets. Minimum staff chatting and standing around. The manager has barely a clue what's she's doing as whenever my sister and I go in she's just at the coffee machine oblivious to the state of the store. Our drinks were luke warm to say the least and the customer service here isn't a thing. If you hate your job so much - leave. We were served by a girl with a South African accent girl and her mannerisms; non existence. God knows how the other customers feel ! Avoid !

Why does the coffee taste so bitter! I drink a flat white every day but whenever I have one here it’s awful. This has to be the worst Costa in the area and I visit a lot of different ones.

They appear to forgotten the joy of the chocolate part of the mocha, instead serving an insipid milky coffee, for £4. The adjacent river Trent has a higher cacao level!

Unfortunately for them not enough staff, the dining area was a mess on floor and tables. So was the drinks station. Caramel latte did not taste any Caramel. A pricy £16 for two drinks and two cakes. Plate was not clean. Main toilets wouldn't open. Disabled were a mess. Toilet would not flush, no toilet roll and hand dryer did not work. Floor wet. A real shame put me off Costa I'm afraid.

We went through the drive thru… as this is supposed to be a faster option… not here! We pulled up to the order machine and they asked us to wait… 5 minutes we waited for them to take our order. We pulled up at the window and they asked us to repeat our order and then we had to sit and wait while they took our drinks. No apologises!

Always seems busy, but not packed out. Hours are a little longer than many Costa's which is a bonus. Very handy between home and good walks. Drive through option if you don't want to stop long

Friendly enough but took such a long wait, cake carrot cake tasted lush & coffee as always was delish Just don't understand how it takes so long especially when they have lots of staff on, well we always have to wait but keep coming back so they must be doing something right

Wow what an improvement to this outlet! Something has changed and for the better! Staff are fabulous happy and cant do enough for u, whole place looks clean and organised again. Amazing atmosphere, but why are staff gathered together talking away at the first and refusing the make a frappee as their blenders need deep cleaning, they were still in the sink, also the shop doesn’t close till 9pm and it’s only 6:37pm.

Lot of flooding in the Costa area!!! Did not stop folks getting for their Drinks!!! Good Coffee!!!!

Great food and coffee. The problem is with the clearing up afterwards. The staff don't seem aware that tables need clearing. Then, when they clear them, they don't seem to consider it might be a good idea to give them a wipe over, ready for the next users. Honestly, it isn't rocket science! This isn't the only Costa where this obliviousness has permeated. A simple time and motion study would easily resolve things.

Unfortunate that we came in when the dishwasher was broke so had to be served in takeaway cups.

Busy managed to get a seat but lots of empty cups about.

No toast, fridge was empty and I mean empty I asked if they had anything for the fridge they said no! Luckily they had a Teacake. Apparently the dish washer was broke so we had to have paper cups and no plates for teacakes. I would not rush to go back.

Disgusting to say the least shop is ment to be open till 7pm on a Sunday. However, get the at 6.23 pm to be told its closed due to a meeting doors was still open for ppl to go in no notice on the doors ect staff very rude

Revised review since 2022, Friendly but slow staff, venue was virtually empty but still had to wait to be acknowledged as previous customers complaints were being dealt with. Venue was clean and tidy, asked for drink to have sat in but was given it in a take out cup although the member of staff did realise their mistake and offered to tip the drink into the appropriate cup, although I opted not to. I was glad I didn't as the temperature of drink was mediocre and this would have cooled it down even more. Coffee at a certain fast food chain across the road is hotter, tastier and cheaper. Won't be rushing back here. Choice of cakes was also very poor, only one slice of one type of cake available. Previous review: (Friendly staff, good service. Clean and tidy venue. )

The lovely girl that served me today was great shame all her colleagues let her down by letting her serve til them make orders and therefore other people got ignored whilst the other staff decided to chat fill plates etc anything other than deal with the queue forming for orders and to be served! Cutlery dirty not first time either I’ve received shobby lazy staff here countless times it needs better management for sure

This one-star rating isn't for the staff as they were nice and efficient. This is for the establishment itself, no public toilet and there isn't even a staff toilet. There are people on 10-hour shifts who have not got access to a toilet. This is inhumane to the workers and Costa and whoever oversees the stores should be ashamed of themselves to have people working in an environment with foul smells, broking equipment, and no access to a toilet. It's a wonder they have any staff at all.

Person called Natalia has been very rude to me. I bought a large capa and lemon drizzle cake and she gave the wrong cake and was arguing that I should have told her whereas it’s already clearly on the order!!

Unprofessional staff. Staff on till too busy talking to each other rather than concentrating on their customers. When taking my order , the girl serving replied back to me with ‘you what’, as she didn’t hear my order. Maybe she should be concentrating on her customers instead of her colleague. Rude staff, food standard - nothing special.

Today I visited this Costa drive thru at castle marina retail park in Nottingham. The drive thru was very efficient, I didn't have to wait very long to get my coffee. The coffee lived up to my expectations of a Costa coffee, it was nice.

I had oat latte.pain au rasin. 12yr old niece caramel frappe.both drinks were good .but the piano au rasin needed warming as it wasn't fresh that day

This is the dirtiest Costa I have ever been to. There's 3 trays from the previous 3 customers that are yet to be removed from the floor next to the table. Next time I will bring a mop and bucket to clean up before ordering. Please improve

This Costa serves the same selections of drinks and snacks as all other Costa's. Friendly staff who served my drinks quickly. Very clean area spaced out available to sit and have your drinks. The staff were very quick at serving us our drinks. Still serving a great drink every time I visit.

This is the Worst costa coffee branch I have been to, one of the staff (ginger haired girl ) was so rude and so slow, I asked for something and she gave me something else and didn’t have any manner! - last time coming here

Not one table was not cleaned. Floor dirty. Supervisor very rude when reported it her and made lots of excuses. Poor customer service overall. Awful experience.

Not enough gluten-free food options but the service is good and friendly

Came in at 6:30pm to do some freelance work on my tablet. Got a vanilla coconut latte and a flapjack slice, was all super yummy, was served straight away and it wasn't crazy busy so it was nice to sit in.

A big shout out to the helpful staff who rushed to the door when my stepson was poorly anf about to have an accident and let him use their toilet!! Oh wait no they didn't frantically knocking to be shown a sign not asked if we needed help so thanks for nothing

Costa coffee is always good, my favourite coffee house.

Relatively busy but staff were managing to clear and clean tables very quickly after they became vacant. Service was much improved from the usual wait, although it was a quieter day.

My daughter took me there before l started work. She bought me my favourite strawberry & cream frapp & a delicious steak & cheese toastie 😀 Never tasted anything soo yummy 😋😀 The toastie gets a thumbs up from me 😀👍🏼👍🏼

Not much space and dirty tables

Lovely friendly service and the coffee of course was very good as you'd expect. However the seating area itself was overall untidy. For example there was cutlery on the floor which was just ignored by the one staff member responsible for clearingtables, tissues on the floor and the seats we used had crumbs in the gaps between the back rest and seat. You would expect a better standard from Costa.

Hubbys cappuccino was perfect but my hot chocolate was awful sorry to say as the cream on top was artificial tasting and over sweet, normally the cream is very tasty at Costas, I know I could have told the server to make me another but we were in a rush! Next time I will ask what cream are you using for the topping👍

The staff on the register were not very helpful when it came to dietary needs, they had no oat milk and made it very awkward for my wife. The coffee was very weak but the hot chocolate my wife had she really enjoyed. There is no love in making the coffee everything just looked rushed and slapped on the plate. The only saving grace for this place was a staff member called Sam. She was so nice towards us and our kids. She is a credit to your company and hard working making the place look clean and doing a great job.

Really great place to sit and get some work done. Very good atmosphere for meeting friends or having a quick coffee alone. Several members of staff have been really helpful in the past. Aidan (I think that was his name) was brilliantly knowledgeable and answered every question I had, very helpful indeed. Some Costa stores have a rushed energy about them but not this one!

Extremely poor and slow service

Very disappointed with customer experience a d service. Returned a damaged drinks bottle only to be told you can't have a partial refund because the replacement wasn't like for like. Jo points offered. Sales people were way too rude simply saying you haven't got a receipt and the replacement bottle is our choice.staff and manager needs some training in customer service and complaints handling!

Really dirty Costa, dirty tables with empty cups which clearly hadn’t been cleared in ages. To to top it off the toilets were filthy. I will avoid this Costa in future as hygiene is clearly not important.

Terrible service. Forgot one of our items then tried to give me uncooked food. Seemed surprised that I wanted it cooked as we weren't eating in.
