The Barrel Drop in Nottingham

Another lovely visit chatting to people at the big table at the back. Great beer choices, cask or keg. People seem to drop in for one or two drinks.

Well worth a visit. Virtually empty when we arrived jumping when we left. Good choice of beers. We tried a few some not to our liking but that's the fun trying something new. No bad beers. Staff friendly. My usual advice buy halves or thirds and try a few.

I've been on a few times but only visited it in passing. I keep meaning to have a proper session there soon. It's quite a all pub and it's hidden away in a narrow alley right in the centre of Nottingham which makes it tricky to find but it's always well worth it. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and always a great selection of well kept beers.

We were really hoping to settle in for a couple of drinks, but the beer was unfortunately warm—possibly due to cellar or cooling issues. Such a shame, as everything else about the place was spot on. Would definitely give it another try if the beer situation improves.

Great Micro pub down the alley worth a visit.

We paaed this hidden-away gem on our route to a restaurant & returned for a beer. Totally lovely, with a fine choice of both proper beers & the trendy Kraft stuff. Quiz night while we were there; I wish we had eaten earlier & spent more time in the Barrel Drop!

A fabulous little micropub tucked away just off one of Nottingham's busiest streets. Great selection of cask, keg and canned beers. Very cosy vibe.

Very good beer ,chilled out atmosphere.Try a pack of Hendo's.Cant believe the no parking comment ,bit tricky trying to drive a car down Hurts Yard.Well worth a visit.

Excellent small micro pub. 25 people can sot and there’s some standing room. Quiet on a Matchday near centre and hotel chains. Great staff when I visited. Plenty of choice for a wide palette. Hope to come back soon

Ace place with ace staff. Magpie beers (which are vegan) are always on but there's always others and tbh the beer selection feels curated rather than merely 'picked'. Only slight issue is it's a bit small but I like that, there are big pubs if you want them. Wonderful place

Fab small pub..lovely atmosphere and a terrific list of beers. Also nearly always stock a lovely Magpie Ale which is always a decent pint.

Lovely little micro pub. Popped in for a pint after work,felt welcome and it was a nice atmosphere. Will be calling in more often when I'm in Nottingham.

Great little pub, close to the theatres. Sadly we didn't have enough time to experience it fully but will definitely visit again!

One of the few micro pubs in Nottingham City Centre and obviously a great choice of real ales and ciders. The building is cosy and comfortable and the real ale was a good choice, from IPAs to stout etc. Staff friendly.

Cozy place with board games and awesome beers on tap. The bitter was outstanding. Good music and not too loud. Perfect for casual socialising.

The staff at The Barrel Drop are absolutely amazing!!! The coconut summer from Magpie Brewery is my favorite on tap!! 10/10 would come back again for the laughs, comradery, beverages, and staff! See you next summer TBD!!!

I found this awesome micropub on way to another pub, highly recommended. It’s hidden out the way down Hurts alley. Has a good range of real ales and ciders.

Well this is a hidden gem. A vibrant pub hidden down a side alley. Lots of laughter and a great atmosphere. Lots of beer choices so great for the real ale enthusiast. Staff were lovely and friendly. We were served quickly. I also loved the décor. Now I know where it is I'll make sure to go more often.

Was looking for a pub selling craft ales on the first night of a three night stay. Had called into a few other pubs but selection poor. Finally found the Barrel Drop, what a gem of a place, great selection, friendly host, friendly customers and very reasonable pricing. Had intended to return but unfortunately fell ill, but should I be in a Nottingham again it will be my first port of call.

I was served a beer that looked as though it had come straight out of the river Trent when I took it back the bar staff refused to change it claiming it should be like that I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK THERE AGAIN AND WILL NOT ADVISING ANYONE ONE ELSE TO EITHER

Wide and good range of beers. There's a choice of games (cards, board games) to play when having a pint of beer or cider etc. Unfortunately the pub was closing quite early on the day of our visit.

Lovely little place we found completely by accident. Good ales to drink and wingback chairs to relax in - we'll be back in winter as it was so very cosy!

Well hidden gem right in the city centre. Great selection of beers and the bar staff know more than enough to help you pick the right beer. Can't recommend highly enough. Quiet in the early afternoon but presume it gets busier later.

Firstly we were welcomed warmly and that goes a long way! Super range of beers, ciders and stouts. Aperol spritz for £6.75!!! A hidden gem in Nottingham. Can’t recommend enough.

Hidden away is this great gem of a place. A large selection of keg and cask as well as a great selection of bar snacks. Reasonably priced for the town centre too. Will definitely return!

I haven't visited here since the previous owners ran it, so was very pleased to see it still serving excellent quality ales and craft beers. Recommended.

Walked past on the way for a meal. The feel from the windows was quirky, cosy but refined. My curiosity had me heading back afterwards. Everthing is as advertised. Now I'm a little tipsy writing this and really appreciating the space. Music choice is great. Warm voices fill the room. There's boardgames to play for when I inevitably return with others. Beers & ciders are varied and well priced. All of them are well documented on the chalkboard so everyone will end up with a drink to their preference. Love stumbling across places like this.
