Tony's Chippy in East Lindsey

Absolutely amazing experience. Customer service was above what was expected. Best mushy peas we have ever had. Scampi was cooked to perfection. Our 8year old now loves scampi. There was something for everyone. Overall very pleasant visit. Will recommend to anyone visiting Skegness.

There are so many fish and chips restaurants in Skegness so we chose this one based on reviews. The food was very good and reasonably priced we would return again

We had a cod and chips and a haddock, chips and gravy. Both pieces of fish were perfectly cooked, light crispy batter and good portion size. Chips very good. Price paid for the meals were very good value for the quality of food. Great service and place was clean and tidy.

Back to being one of the best, if not the best, in Skegness. Haddock cooked beautifully, proper chips (new potatoes not the easiest) and good mushy peas. Only one slight thing, as we had ours wrapped to take home, the peas weren't put in tubs but on the chips then wrapped.... would have preferred them potted up. Will be going back before the end of the season

Was in Skeg, visiting our son… and as usual,ended up at Tonys. We always use Tonys when in skeg for a number if reasons… good food, good prices… polite staff…. 2 points though…. Could use toilets…. And mushy peas cooked a little longer

It was extremely hot and extremely busy, but the staff were still very friendly and very quick! And the food was piping hot and tasty as always

The Food: Good quality fresh fish, but the chips were not as good as expected, undercooked but may have something to do with the lunchtime rush. The Price: Can’t argue with this, the price is good. The portions are good for any adult, we were able to make one portion split between two children under 6 (after all the arguments). The Service: This is where it really fell over for me. It felt rude and rushed for a start, but again it was the lunch time rush and young staff. The staff that served us didn’t acknowledge / ignored us ask for the (advertised as) free beans, peas, gravy or curry sauce to be put in a seperate pot as the kids don’t like it on top. When they made one, I asked again and they said they absolutely could not do that, but didn’t / couldn’t give an actual reason. They said if we wanted to do that it would cost us over £1 as a side, a side that is over wise advertised as free. A pot is probably £0.01 each to them but here we are. But, they were ok with throwing away and wasting a tray of bean soaked chips so we could have plain fish and chips. I asked again if the free side could be put in a container, which probably costs them nothing, and they refused. Bizarre and something which wouldn’t bat an eyelid at most places. Overall: It did the job but could be higher quality in terms of the chips. I genuinely don’t understand why sides that are advertised as free can’t be given separately without being charged over £1. Would have been a 7/10 because of the chips / portion size. Is a 5/10 because of the poor service. Parents with children be aware, as their staff aren’t trained to double check and often seem overwhelmed.

Right in the middle of the Skegness Strip, but was served in under 10 mins. Classic Cod & Chips but done right, and with excellent service with a smile. 10/10 would recommend.

The most melt-in-your-mouth fish and just THE tastiest, fluffiest chips. The staff are super friendly and the prices very reasonable. The childrens meal deals are especially great value.

Best chippy in all of Skegness. Daughter kaity says the cod was the best she’s ever had, even better than when we was on holiday in Cornwall last year at Rick Stiens. Staff super friendly. Can’t recommend this place enough. 10/10.

This place is ok, fish and chips are fish and chips at the end of the day however what put me off is the seating area is dirty and staff stand around just watching with there headphones in not really doing anything. Yes they wipe the table tops but the seats and floors are something else,

Vile food and staff. A ton of over done batter with a tiny bit of dry fish inside, we ate what we could and didn't say anything about the food all though we left most of it. What p**sed us off was a 'staff' member coming out multiple times and screaming f**k off at the birds as we were trying to eat. I was tempted to throw my disgusting food in his face so the birds could have a feast. I understand now why the place was empty

It's out go to chippy, always excellent food wether it's busy or not. Fish is cooked to perfection and you get a generous portion of chips.

me and my partner went here this weekend, it looked okay so we thought we would try it. the chips were either really dry or completely soggy, my cod was fine but my partners had loads of gristle in! the place wasn’t clean at all, the tables had curry sauce on them and food from previous people, the shop wasn’t even busy at the time we went, there was probably another 3-4 people in there, also not very well run, there was about 8 workers and only 2 of them were actually doing there job the others are standing round. unfortunately we won’t be coming back here.

The first fish and chips shop I came across when I decided to eat. I had to wait a few minutes for the fish to be fried. The actual product was excellent. There was seating inside and outside. Later I discovered other places were slightly cheaper. But I had already eaten and maybe the others were inferior.

Obviously a trip to the seaside isn't complete without fish and chips. There are many to choose from in Skeg. We went to Tony's because they don't offer gimmicks just good honest fish and chips. We placed our order took our seats and waited a short while for the food to be cooked to order. Really nice fish with good batter. Proper chips none of the skinny french rubbish. August Bank Holiday weekend, suggesting a visit any other fish & chip shop is Skeggy would be criminal, Tony's is without doubt the best.

Dissapoonting, chips were pale amd soggy, fish was nice but there was not much of fish under thick coat of batter, charged me for mushy pras even though the price list said they were included, asked for cheese on top of my chips it was the cheapest cheddar type of cheese which didnt melt as the chips werent hot enoigh, would not buy there again

I went here for some fish and chips at dinner time. There was a 10 minute wait but they take your order, let you pay and call you when it’s done. We had haddock, chips and peas for £5.95 each. They were beautiful, really fresh fish and lovely chips. Not greasy with lovely thin batter. It was a popular place but worth a treat with indoor and out door seating. Expected the best fish and chips in Skegness, as it had been for the last 10+ years. We were so disappointed, batter not cooked properly, chips very pale, small portion sizes for the price. Fish undercooked and not properly coated in batter. Chips were quite pale. They were busy and I suspect it was a case of trying to get people served quickly which I understand but I’m sure most would rather wait a minute or two extra for better food. Things have changed here. Came her a couple of years back and it was pretty good. Went today and asked for Cod with the skin taken off and got flat refused. Told some rubbish excuse about the fish falls apart and doesn't taste right if you take the skin off. Utter rubbish. Ramsbottoms next door manage it, and with a smile too. Change your attitude people, or like me, trade will walk out and go elsewhere. Terrible customer service, do yourself a favour and go to Ramsbottoms next door.

Just reviewed a restaurant in Ware Uk. The fish we had was very poor.It Got me thinking about Tony’sWe are 5 ladies . 1 has a caravan in Skegness.We always visit for lunch on one of our visiting days.The fish is always so lovely and fresh .Chips as they should be with colour great taste and just the right consistency .Peas and curry both good.The prices are amazing . Poor fish and chios in the south 12.95Great fish and chips here with peas 5.50.Go compare !The only small downside for me is the pack of starlings if you have to sit outside.We have a dog so did have to.They are very annoying dirty and noisey.Maybe you could fill the sides in so the birds have knowhere to sit.Saying that in Bridlington the seagulls swoop down and steal chips.Keep up the good work Tony.

We travelled from Barnsley to Skegness, we were not disappointed. We had fish (haddock) lightly battered absolutely delicious, chips big chunky and red hot, mushy peas just finished it off. The nice touch was the newspaper sheet which was like a place mat. Took me back to when fish and chips were always wrapped in newspaper. I have been using this chip shop for 20 odd years and to day was the worst the fish was dry and the batter I could have hammered a nail in a wall with the staff did not smile just looks like that have eaten a old lemon except for a gray haired lady that as been there for years and she all ways has a smile on her face . A smile gos a long way in my book it's a shame that the old owners are not running it as things was a lot better

My fiancé has been bringing me to this chip shop for the last 3 years. He has been visiting here since being a child on his family holidays. The food here never disappoints me. Good sized portions. I always leave happy.

Beautifully bubbly, crispy batter; white, flakey fish and fluffy chips are what you'll find at Tony's! The family and I have been here a number of times, and each time we have never been disappointed. The staff are always very friendly, and there's always something delicious to choose from. Don't fancy fish and chips? Then there's always the trust Pukka pie, battered sausages and even turkey dinosaurs for the little ones too! So if you're feeling that hunger strike, or you're just in the mood for a good chippy, then take a walk to Tony's and try it for yourself.

Pie & chips for less than a fiver, they were steaming hot, tasted delicious, it was a generous portion & well worth the visit.

We always use Tony's for our chippy lunches. They are always freshly cooked and proper spuds not new ones. Staff are friendly and the place is clean. Only downfall is lack of toilet.

Tony's Chippy at the Clock Tower has long been a favourite of mine since early childhood and I have visited almost every time I'm in Skegness. Cod Chips & Mushy Peas is always the order. You buy your food inside at the chip bar and eat it outside at the tables in the enclosed yard. On this occasion the fish was tasteless and the batter soggy and it didn't help that the fish was languishing in the abundant scoop of mushy peas on top of the chips - a bit of a mess, not helped by fact the batter stuck to the chips and the fish fell apart as I tried to eat it with the traditional, small wooden forks. Not good and not so cheap either.

We came to Skegness for the day with our two young boys, and obviously needed to have fish and chips at the seaside. I looked on trip advisor for the closest and best ranked place to eat, and came across Tony’s. It was very busy but we managed to get a table. The fish was so fresh and had a lovely light and crisp batter, the chips were really tasty and the mushy peas were great too. I’d read about small portions but thought the portion size was just right. Throughly enjoyed!
