Toney Minchella @ Whitburn Bents in South Tyneside

Occasionally stop here for an ice cream on the way home. Can get busy and the prices are a little on the high side, but the ice cream is nice. The staff are pleasant and the view of the sea is great.

Beware of opening times stated here as they appear to be incorrect. Arrived twice this week just after 5pm to find it shut. Great little place if you catch it open!

The ice cream is wonderful, especially the pistachio. I have been numerous times and am never disappointed.

Lovely, friendly staff, great menu of food and drinks. Their ice cream is to die for! It's got a great seating area, some sheltered and some not, and right on the car park. A great place to stop for a bite to eat when out walking along the cliffs of Whitburn.

Me and wife visited here numerous times so we decided to bring our kids and the respect we got for our one year old eating his ice cream was unreal the staff I think they thought oh oh that's going over the next table ha ha my son loves the cones and my daughter is just to lady like lol 😂 love the place keep up the good work

It's my favourite place whenever i fancy ice cream at the coast - nougat wafer ice cream sandwich with flake and raspberry sauce.... Service is always with a smile... cash and card payments are accepted.

It was a very hot day and we fancied an icecream. when I got them they were already melting and running down the side of the cone. Very dissapointing and expensive.

The best 99 always. Consistently superb ice cream. There is no better on the planet. I go there frequently and it’s a 99 for me.

Nice little outdoor area to stop off for a cuppa, or something else. I use this as a rest stop when going on a bike ride with my wife.

Usually call at one of the Minchella establishments when retruning to the North East. In my opinion the best ice cream you can get Always clean Staff always pleasant Will continue to visit

Nothing but the best ice cream and coffee. We travel from Cumbria to Seaburn for this place.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The ice cream cones unfortunately were so thin they broke off completely as soon as they were held. Apparently this was a substandard batch of cones so I will go at a later date and test them again.

Just what you need.. if its warm they got ice cream if its cold theyve got tea and coffee ! Prices are fair and has nice covered outside seating too.

We love going here for an ice cream with the little one, however, we went on Sunday at about 4:30pm and we wanted a toastie due to the colder weather, but they had already switched the toastie machine off even though they were still open... very disappointing.

Disappointed. The large coffee in my opionion is a regular size. Coffee substandard machine made for the price. I ordered a sausage muffin it was in a bun and appeared microwave to an inch of it's life. Ice cream might be good but I think this is profit over quality establishment. Won't be returning.

Took their time in getting back to hot food, prices up as soon as lockdown lifted. Typical! Larger coffee on offer at a larger price, but not more flavour?

Just had a lovely coffee from here and my wife and daughter had a hot chocolate with everything on including a flake! Service was quick and friendly, the queue moved very quickly. From past experiences I know the ice cream is really nice too

We come to this car park at least once a week for our regular ice cream and cappuccino in the car! The staff are great and quick at serving decent sized delicious ice creams. A great stop off and great views.

Friendly staff lovely flat white and amazing ice cream

We visited last week during heatwave and queued for a couple of ice lollies, drinks and milkshakes. I got served, paid and waited for my milkshake to be made, which was then passed to me. I continued to wait, waiting for the 2 ice-lollies. One of the staff said ‘what’s that lady waiting for’ so I replied ‘just the lollies’. One of the girls behind the counter turned very aggressive and said ‘you’ve had them’ as if I was trying to pull a fast-one! I replied to say I haven’t and showed I only had the drinks. The girl then replied in a very aggressive manner that she’d put them on the counter - again I said I didn’t have them. She then said I little girl had took them. I shouted over to my Daughter who had indeed picked them up when I wasn’t looking. When I said ‘oh she has them, sorry’ the girl then went ‘see’ and gestured to the other members of staff again like I was going to steal them! The aggressive, rude, confrontational manner of the girl behind the counter was completely unnecessary. If she’d said in a different tone ‘a little girl took them’ the experience would’ve been very different, rather than me feeling accused of stealing them!! Absolutely no need to speak to customers like that, I will not be returning.
