I took advantage of the £20 restaurant week 3 course lunch and it was excellent. They were short of GF starters so offered me a choice off the normal menu, which was exceptional customer service. I had mussels which came in a cream and wine sauce and GF white bread; they were excellent. For main I had steak and fries which was cooked to perfection. To finish I had a chocolate mousse which was ok. The service was friendly, efficient and not too fast or too slow, whilst the restaurant ambience was alright. Next restaurant week I will return.

We went for a friends 50th birthday for the bottomless brunch…. Callum served is and made sure we had drinks when we were getting low. He was very attentive & looked after us really well… the food was a bit long in coming but when it did arrive was really tasty! I had a rare steak which was actually rare…. Often when I ask for rare I get medium rare so was really happy with my choice… I would definitely recommend 👍🏻

The food is usually excellent but sadly Sunday lunch was a complete let down. The beef was nice but that’s all. The pork was dry, the lamb was inedible. Just a pile of fat and gristle that didn’t even look appealing. We waited until the waiter took our sharer board away, which was hardly touched, to mention our disappointment but he didn’t ask if we enjoyed our meal. Nobody asked while we were eating. As we paid, we were not asked if we enjoyed our lunch. It seems nobody cares at Tomahawk. It gives me no pleasure writing a negative review as the food is usually excellent but today was awful.

Wow! What a let down, in so many ways. After recently moving to Yorkshire, we are always following the recommendations of friends and family and we have not been disappointed… until our visit to Tomahawk Steakhouse In Beverley. It’s almost hard to know where to begin but will try and keep it short and sweet… but if you cannot be bothered to read the whole thing, my advice is this… AVOID THIS PLACE!!! From our arrival we was greeted by a very erratic and stressed front of house guy and the worlds loudest live music. After finally getting seated, we were sat at a table with missing cutlery and a soaking, wet sticky table…yuk. We then waited 10 minutes for a waiter to ask for drinks, he couldn’t hear us and we couldn’t hear him due to the extremely loud live music. After finally getting drinks, we then ordered our starters and hoped for an improved night, boy was I wrong. The toilets were filthy, the hot tap handles were missing and even if you did manage to get your hands washed, the hand dryers were out of order… so far, not much luxury to be witnessed. Our very mediocre starters then arrived, they tasted of absolute nothing. My wife had the duck pancakes and these were the greasiest and most unappealing things ever, I’ve had better from the ‘fake away’ range in most supermarkets. As the night continued to amaze us in disappointment, I noticed small things, such as light bulbs missing from the ceiling fixtures, the door being constantly opened so the working staff could go outside and talk to their friends which made the restaurant cold, the kitchen staff leaving the door open so when you use the toilets you can see them messing around and scraping unwanted food (which I’m sure there was a lot), into a bin and a female working member of staff performing an ungodly act to a cucumber behind the bar…. Hardly the opulent atmosphere that you would expect for the price point. After waiting over one hour, our mains finally arrived (with missing drinks)… and to be fair, the steaks for both of us, were AMAZING!!! I can’t lie. However, the steaks were best friends with uncooked greasy chips and flavourless mac n cheese… if you managed to survive the uncooked chip roulette and was surprised by a cooked one, it must have been only 3 times at a maximum. So, with further disappointment we still dared to have dessert as we had travelled almost a hour to visit Tomahawk and thought ‘hey we’re committed now’… my wife got the cookie dough which was brought out fresh from the fires of mount doom… being so hot you couldn’t touch it for at least 5 minutes and served on the worlds smallest and most pretentious plate, which meant that as the waiter brought it over, it was melting and dripping all over his hand and arms and our table and was simply plonked down in front of my wife like she was an inmate. Very unappealing! Mine, the sticky toffee pudding LOOKED better, but don’t let that fool you, it was stone cold and stodgy, dense and flavourless, again… nothing that couldn’t be beat by most supermarkets. With our energy at an all time low and our minds blown over how awful this place could be, it was finally (after 2 hours) time to get the bill and leave HMP Tomahawk. I mentioned to the front of house how disappointed I was, he agreed and told me he himself could probably cook better 😂… he then proceeded to to deduct our starters from the bill and add an additional 20% discount… i said that was fine as I just wanted to get out of there.. however, our bill was still £102. Needless to say I didn’t leave a tip. In summary, I would never return here, it wasn’t luxury or fun, it wasn’t romantic or tasty (apart from 5 mouthfuls of steak), it had an awful atmosphere and the staff need some serious training, their age definitely showed here. It’s the absolute opposite of luxury and opulent and for a date night or special occasion, I can think of loads of better places with better food, better atmosphere, nicer staff and a cheaper bill. Sad to say, after living here for 4 months, this is the first food let down we have experienced.

We had Saturday lunch at tomahawk Beverley, whilst the service was not too bad, we had ordered the Philly steak wrap of which neither of them had any cheese sauce in. We ordered chicken goujons for our daughter, there were clearly overdone, burnt on the outside and chicken very dry. Very disappointing on this trip to tomahawk - the chefs needed to do better

We came for my friend’s birthday and did the bottomless brunch. Staff were lovely but very slow and not attentive. Food was absolutely spot on, nothing to fault. Drinks on the bottomless were gorgeous just didn’t get that many (4 cocktails) in 90 mins, not like your usual bottomless brunch where we’ve had 10+ each.

We have previously been to another branch of Tomahawk in Nottingham and really enjoyed it. It sadly shut due to the buildings lease not being renewed so when we knew there was one nearby to where we were staying in Hull we had to go and sample some steak. Friendly greeting from staff and promptly asked about drinks. It was what they call restaurant week so it was three courses for £20 with some supplements/upgrades being extra. Brilliant value even with the upgrades and sides we added on. Food was hot and fresh. I think portion sizes were a little smaller because of the deal but that was no real issue as it was all still fantastic

I recently visited Tomahawk Steakhouse in Beverley for an evening meal with my family, mid-week during the school summer holidays. From the moment we entered, the venue offered a fun yet classy atmosphere. We were promptly greeted, shown to our seats, and our drinks order was taken without delay. The alcoholic drinks menu had plenty to offer, with a wide selection of high-quality cocktails, mocktails, and a well-stocked range of draught and bottled drinks. They also had the standard range of soft drinks and juices. However, the menu did lack non-alcoholic and low-alcohol options. Upon enquiry, we were informed that they usually have some behind the bar, but unfortunately, they were out of stock during our visit. The food menu boasted an impressive array of unique and tantalising dishes. While specialising in steak, they also offered an array of creatively described meals, including a shawarma board, stacked burgers, and various fish options. The prices were a bit steep, but considering the rarity and creativity of the dishes, it felt somewhat reasonable. With a mouth-watering list of flavours, I was eager to see if the food would live up to its promises. Around the table, everyone was sufficiently satisfied with their food, and the steaks were especially well-received. However, given the price point, my expectations were a bit higher than what we ultimately experienced. For instance, one dish came with peas that were clearly microwaved, undercooked, and hard. My chips also seemed underdone, leaving the impression that while the prices were suggesting a higher tier of dining, the quality was being compromised. Additionally, they charge over £3 for sauces, but only offer portions large enough for four people. This is great if everyone wants the same sauce, but it feels like a waste if only one person does. Moving on to dessert, the options sounded lush! One of our party ordered the cookie dough, which looked incredible and earned two big thumbs up. I took this opportunity to try the coffee, ordering an artisan latte. It was fairly well-made but served a bit too hot for my liking. One aspect that left me quite sceptical about the restaurant's ethics was their special menu. They offered a 3-course meal for £20, which initially seemed like a good deal. However, the menu still listed the prices of each dish, despite it being a set £20 regardless of choice. The special menu featured a selection of dishes from the standard menu but listed at lower prices, which led me to suspect that the £20 deal might involve downsized portions of the standard dishes, hoping customers wouldn’t notice. The steak, for instance, didn’t specify its size, but there was an option to "upgrade" to the same size as the standard steak for an additional £18—making it £10 more than it would cost on the regular menu. This special offer menu felt very suspicious and left a bitter taste in my mouth for the rest of the evening. While my previous concerns are relatively minor, one issue significantly impacted our dining experience: the noise level. A nearby table had a child who screamed continuously for the entire hour and a half we were there. I understand the staff’s ability to intervene is limited, and they did apologise to us on our way out. However, it’s worth noting that they allow party bookings here, and those groups are not separated from the rest of the restaurant. In summary, Tomahawk Steakhouse offers a vibrant atmosphere and an enticing menu, but the overall experience was somewhat let down by inconsistent food quality and the noisy environment.

Came specifically to Bev for this restaurant. Although the steak i had was nice we had an awful experience. To begin with drinks took ages to arrive. Then food items were not available (£20 deal menu). When food did arrive the portions were so tiny. Food was not cooked as requested sent back everyone else had finished before this was returned after we asked twice. When it did arrive the steak looked so small and like leftovers from other bits of steak. We had to speak to someone at the kitchen as noone asked how the food was to even get this sorted. Had to ask for another drink we'd ordered twice. Waited forever for puddings we ended up leaving. The music was so loud it was like walking into a nightclub. Another guest decided he was going to start an argument as we were not happy. The restaurant did nothing to stop this. The chef from the kitchen walked into the ladies toilets wearing his kitchen attire as i was walking out apologised and said sorry just checking the hot water we have no hot water. On leaving the dirty glasses were stacked up against the bar so high you couldn't see. Only as we left did someone apologise for our spoilt meal. Too little too late. So unfortunately we will not return and would not recommend. Your service was appalling.

I was very disappointed. I’ve only visited here a few times and every time I’ve been disappointed I thought I would give it another try as it had the 3 courses for £20 but wish I hadn’t bothered. I felt the standard what not what it should be for a tomahawk restaurant. For starter I had pork satay skewers I only received 3 small pieces of pork cubes on a bed of pathetic salad. For main I had steak and fries the steak was delicious but the sides not so much, we ordered garlic mushrooms they were cold, the salad was very poor just salad leaves and pepper slices and one cherry tomato, the Mac and cheese was very average, we asked when ordering if one sauce would be ok to share between two people and was told we would need one each, we definitely could of had one between us. For dessert we had the white chocolate and raspberry posset and that was nice and was lovely flavour. Another thing to note was the wait was very long for each course the restaurant was full but it would have been nice to have been told on arrival of the wait times. The ladies toilets 2 of them didn’t have loo roll in and the one which did had loo roll over the floor. Overall I left feeling disappointed and felt tomahawk has dropped their standards.

We've been a few times as a couple and have really enjoyed our meals so we decided to give the place a try with two of our children during this times restaurant week. 3 of us got steaks and the other got the peri chicken. The steaks were delicious as always but the chicken meal wasn't great for the price, especially when you compare it to the steak. It wasn't very flavourful, not very moist and the rice it came with was gloopy. We would've raised this issue before we had finished eating our mains however we didn't have any checkback during which isn't the norm. The overall service wasn't great, huge gaps in between starters and mains, no check backs and we ended up asking for pudding to go after being there already 1.5hrs. Really disappointed with our visit this time and it'll probably be a long time before we return, if we do at all. Nearly £80 spent for poor service 😣

When we were seated the table was sticky and dirty, we waited for 15 minutes before even being asked about drinks, I asked for the table to be cleaned and the waiter half heartedly sprayed it and wiped, I took the cloth from him and cleaned it myself, we ordered drinks but the waiter didn’t understand what we requested, ( a glass of Malbec and a makato cocktail) the manager had to step in. Steaks were good and how we asked for them to be cooked, chips were like the bottom of the chip pan ends, and onion rings not much better. Very disappointing evening.

It is difficult to fault this steakhouse. Every time I have visited, it has been a consistently pleasant experience, not only because of the quality of the food but also due to the exceptional service from the staff. They are always willing to go above and beyond to cater to customers’ needs. While some might find the menu somewhat limited, I appreciate that it makes choosing easier. Mixed feelings! Bill nearly £270 for 4 of us & we came away not being blown away with the food. It was ok but not worth the cost, we’ve often had better value steaks at pub restaurants. When you pay £47 for the porterhouse steak you expect the very best! Scallops not bad, garlic bread was like a giant crisp (more like a popedom). Thai garlic prawns really nice also the onion rings. Service was ok, not much if wait for starters & then main course, but then lacking when wanting a drink replenished. And not a fan when they add on £24.31 onto the bill for optional service change. Unfortunately we’ll not return

Old review - had an amazing meal. Staff are always great. NEW REVIEW *****I've had to update my review. We have just been for food and we're both incredibly disappointed. We ordered two ribeye wagyu steaks, which weren't very nice. My partner asked for his brisket with no cheese and it came with cheese. My broccoli was rock hard and undercooked. The garlic and herb butter was not butter, if it was, it was mixed with oil and has made me feel really ill and upset my stomach. The scallops were sat in a bath of oil and has grit in them. We paid £160 for this meal and we're very disappointed. We've come here a lot and won't be returning. The staff are always fantastic, but the food is sub par, especially for the money paid. :(

Pretty disappointed with our food last night. My son ordered half a lobster and got around 2 forkfuls….most of the shell was dried up it was like it had been very over cooked or sat under heat for ages. Chicken shwarma board was underwhelming. The garlic prawns were swimming in butter and that’s all you could taste. The steaks were nice however. Meal was £230 for 4 of us and we only had a couple of starters so pretty pricey. Don’t mind paying when the food is good but was a little underwhelmed especially after hearing great things. Decor and atmosphere was great though. Would go again in the hope they were having a bad day as we did enjoy the restaurant itself. Hopefully better next time.

What a shame that the cook doesn't understand food. Bread and olives (burnt toast, poor balance between oil and balsamic) was bad enough, but then Chateaubriand was rolled in cracked pepper. Might not sound much to some people, but at £75 a Chateaubriand is tender and subtle steak, so rolling it in pepper kills the steak. Add to that chips that were burned and soggy, bourbon sauce was cheap sweet bbq sauce, creamy garlic mushrooms that were fairly tasteless and service that was slow and lacking in attention and altogether it was a mediocre experience. I spoke to management, making clear I wasn't after discount, but he was rushing between cleaning tables, so merely nodded in agreement. Such a pity, underwhelming and won't be rushing back.

This was the first time we visited and I doubt we will visit again. I was really looking forward to visiting as I had heard mostly good things. The staff were friendly enough but I found it very expensive for the quality of the food. We had the rib eye sharing board with 4 sides. The steak was extremely fatty. I know u can expect some fat given the cut of meat, but the piece we were given was mostly fat. It was seasoned very well though. The sides were ok but we expected a bit more for the money we paid. The chips were mostly scraps despite being advertised as thick cut and there just wasn't a great deal of them to share. The brocolli stems were rock hard and undercooked (raw). The creamy garlic mushrooms were mostly cream, and the slaw was a really small pot, just enough for the 1 person. It also wasn't spicy as advertised. The atmosphere was very loud. We could barely hear each other talking. I came away feeling like we had wasted £92 and it would have been better spent elsewhere.

Tomahawk is mine and boyfriend’s favourite place to eat Callum served us and the service was faultless. The staff are all so friendly and very hospitable to allergies. The food is always perfect and this is the best steakhouse in the area! Would highly recommend to anyone!

Katie and the team made celebrating our sons 16th birthday a real treat! Nothing was to much trouble, I left balloons which were in place on our table for arrival and they made an extra special effort to make a happy birthday pudding for him! Food was amazing as was the service!!! Thank you to all of you! Xx

Not a place we would visit again. We went for a family Birthday celebration (party of 8) and were really disappointed with everything. Mediocre quality of food. Food and drinks are really overpriced. Service was very slow and staff who served us didn't really know much about the menu. We ordered drinks when we arrived, 7 of of the 8 drinks arrived, but one cocktail was missing. After waiting quite a while, thinking they were preparing the drink we asked our waitress, she had to go check where the drink was, she returned to say it was just that they were really busy, and it would be served shortly, it still didn't arrive. We asked again, only to be told the drink had gone to another table so they were having to prepare another one. We ordered our meals, 1 was a chicken Thai green curry. We asked the waitress if the curry was hot/spicy, she went to ask and were told it wasn't very hot at all, so ordered it, it was that hot we had to ask for some soured cream to try to cool it down but it was still too spicy. That member of our party had to leave it as she couldn't eat it. When the waitress returned to our table we explained it was too hot plus the quality of the chicken was very poor, she apologised for this. When it came to paying the bill we thought there might have been a discount for that meal but no, nothing. The restaurant was full but it was a Saturday evening, problem was there were that many people in, the noise level was really uncomfortable. We couldn't have a conversation as nobody could hear anyone speaking. All in all it wasn't what we would call an enjoyable experience at all. We wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Service was poor.

After booking a table for two several weeks in advance, on entering the building and waiting to be acknowledged by one of the staff we were seated and then told there is an issue in the kitchen and a 1 hour and 20 minute wait on food orders???? We were then told moments later that all but the most expensive set meals for two were unavailable, the server then said you can leave if you want to?……. I asked why we haven’t been informed via email of the issues and were told we should have had a phone call, we then left and called in at Estabulo who couldn’t do enough for us and several other couples/ parties who were in the same predicament, I believe Tomahawk serve lovely food when they get their act together but they are more and more frequently letting their customers down, ?!…. We and I believe many others won’t be going there again🤯🤔🙁

Gorgeous atmosphere and food (loved the cow print!) Range of price options for food so was really reasonable for the quality of meat. Forgot to get a picture of our mains as I dived straight in!The cocktails and desserts were also rated highly by our group. Thank you so much!

The food (steak) was amazing, I have been a few times when they do the offer. So far the steak has been amazing. In fact all the courses on the offer were great. It's a busy place but the staff do a great job and we are never waiting long for food or drinks...when it's full it's great, my only issue is that it gets really noisy and you can find your having to raise your voice to chat with whoever your with....

Absolutely amazing food. I whole heartedly believe anyone who gives less than a 5* review cannot have ate here. Every time I visit the food and sides are the best I’ve ever tasted. I have brought new people with me each time and they always comment on how it’s the nicest place they’ve ever ate and will be back. I’m not even a massive steak fan and yet the food is just that gorgeous that I can’t not be. Amazing service too! I made a mistake with my booking and despite being very busy the gentleman at front of house managed to find a larger table that could fit another two people and a pushchair. Thank you very much for this. The best part was the 3 courses for £20. Previously it cost us around £400 for 6 people when this deal wasn’t on. The deal gives you the same quality of food for a cheaper price and I cannot fault it. Would definitely be back more often if this was on.

This was my 4th time dining here and the food is usually exceptional as is the service, the Sunday lunch however wasn’t as good as I was expecting but still pretty tasty. We was booked in at 12 and it was very quiet, clearly had too many staff on as they was all congregated around the bar loudly talking, whistling laughing and joking around with no regard for the customers, to the point I could hear them over my partner. We was going to have their 3 course offer but quite frankly couldn’t sit there a minute longer so left after our main. I did raise the issue with the shift manager who deducted 10% off our bill. Disappointed to say the least.

Booked for 3.30 family meal, didn't get our food I'll gone 5, did have to ask a couple of times, it was a bit annoying but was well worth it in the end, manager offered free drink or dessert for the long wait and the young waiter was applogetic. It is a pricey place but we booked for a celebration so expected to pay the price. I can honestly say the food was great, we had sharing platters with extras, they work out better value. Deffinately would go again

Honest review time. We arrived at 1530 for our booking today, we were greeted straight away and seated immediately. Unfortunately this is where the experience went down hill. We sat there for 15 minutes before anyone came over to take our drinks order, but okay, maybe they are really busy… looked around, they weren’t. The drinks came and our food order was taken. Starters seemed to take forever to come out, I ordered the smoked salmon and my partner ordered meatballs. I was given the smallest sliver of salmon I’ve ever seen in my life, literally razor thin, 2 pieces the size of a 50 pence piece, however I would say, fairy acceptable in taste and texture. My partners meatball’s were of decent size and really tasty. Next came the main meals, I ordered the burger and my partner ordered the steak and we also ordered a side of onion rings. This is when it became very disappointing. My burger patty was burnt to the point it had lost all of its flavour, rock hard on the outside and dry throughout. The fries were like eating chopped up pencils, and thats putting it kindly. My partner asked for a steak cooked medium and it came out still moo’ing, and again, very poor fries. The onion rings were burnt and lacked any flavour. Finally, deserts, I had the lemon meringue and my partner had the chocolate fudge cake, neither were anything to rave about, both were acceptable. Now, we didn’t come here expecting perfection, but we didn’t expect to leave feeling disappointment in the way that we did. I didn’t have the time or inclination to speak to the manager whilst in the restaurant, we’d already been there almost 2 hours before we left. Had we paid the full price for everything I would have had to say something. Lastly, if the owner/manager is reading this review, if you are going to run a restaurant whereby you automatically include a service charge with the final bill, please make sure the staff actually go around and ask people if everything is okay and/or if they would like anymore drinks. Sorry to say we had a very disappointing experience here.

Very nice food, but be warned, it's certainly not the cheapest. Only lost a star on the atmosphere as it was quite quiet when we were there. But I can imagine the place getting very busy. That said, I couldn't fault the meal and the staff were very friendly and efficient. I would say it's the sort of place you would visit for a special occasion. But I would definitely recommend it.

We arrived at our booked time and was taken to a table. Waited 10 minutes to order a drink to which point the waitress asked if we had been told about the waiting time. She told us we could be waiting up to an hour and half for food. Totally unacceptable so we paid for the drinks and left. What’s the point in the booking system if you have to wait that long. 😡 also if I had taken the ice out of the cocktail I ordered there would have been an inch of drink at the bottom of the glass. I can’t rate the food but from previous experience it is good.

Unfortunately my first visit to Tomahawk wasn’t a positive one. When we arrived we sat for 20 minutes before someone came to take a drinks order from us. Then after another long wait my brother had to ask if we could order our food. He also had to get up and service our table with our drinks as they were left on the bar for another 15 minutes. The starter was really nice that I had but our plates and glasses where left on the table for another 20 mins while multiple staff walked passed and even looked at them. After a long wait for the main it came and was less than underwhelming. The gravy had no taste, the meat and gravy was cold, the pork was overcooked, lamb was well under cooked. We had 1 small portion of cauliflower cheese to share between 4 of us. My sister in law asked if we would be getting another as we was suppose to get 1 each between 2 but that’s when they informed us they had non left. We wanted to order a pudding but feared it would be another very long wait like the main so didn’t bother. The staff where all very young and they where stood round the kitchen chatting rather then providing a service. The manager didn’t even really seem that interested either as no one including him came over to see if everything was ok. They added an optional service charge to our bill of £30.95 and this is something we would usually always pay, however we didn’t think we had received a good service at all so didn’t pay it on this occasion. I wouldn’t rush back which is unfortunate because the options on the menu do sound great.

Can honestly say we will not return.12 of us inc 5 children. From the moment we arrived service was dreadful, we had to ask after 20 min if we could order some drinks. Had to ask if we could order food as no one came. My starter was ok but the shared Sunday dinner was cold, cauliflower cheese rock hard, no taste in the roast potatoes, gravy etc. lamb raw, pork dry, beef undercooked. Also does no one know how to season there food. Waited 1 & 1/2 hours for mains and daren't order a dessert we Would still be sat there. We had to ask for our plates and empty glasses to be removed as they was piling up. My son had go get the drinks from the bar himself, then they added service charge. Honestly awful experience. Staff stood around talking 😡

We had a mixed feelings about the place. The restorant was nice, the staff friendly. Service was a bit chaotic from the start to the end. My and our daughters starterts came , but husbands were missed , it arrived when we finished ours. Then may main was missing slalad, after i asked for it , i was given different one. Same with cutlery, food was placed on the table but no cutlery. Food itself. My family had stakes and they were very happy with their meal. I had chkn, well it was very boring, sad meal 🤷🏼♀️ I wouldn't come back. One time experience more than enough. I understand its a steak house, but something nice to eat orher than stake would be fantastic, as I don't eat steak, but my family does. Proper grilled food for example would be fantastic. I would think the service should be smooth for the price you pay.
