Had steak and eggs with sausage for breakfast and it was absolutely phenomenal. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.

Lovely out of the way village pub, accommodation was lovely for an over night stay food amazing.

Everything excellent, I had the wagu steak absolutely perfect. Thanks to everybody.

Midweek date night 🥰 amazing service! Ask for one of Bella’s salted caramel martinis. Meal was delicious and a chateaubriand was part of the February meal deal!!

Always enjoy a friendly atmosphere & the service / food are the best in the area BAR NONE … We eat here as much as possible when work / time allows … Yes it can be a bit pricey , But you get what you pay for ,which us always 10/10 Keep up the great work 👍

Went on the off-chance midweek and there was plenty of availability to reserve a table. Decent service, substantial menu and the Chicken Parmo i had was a very substantial portion. Reasonably priced as well.

Went for Sunday lunch today with my little girl that has a dairy allergy and they were brilliant with her. They checked several times to make sure her food choices were safe and the chef made her some fish bites that were dairy free and absolutely delicious. Sunday lunch was also gorgeous, the roast beef was so tender. Our only quibble was that the service was very slow, and we waited a long time for our table to be cleared and to order dessert.

Delicious fillet steak perfectly cooked as always with beef dripping chips and broccoli in chimchurri sauce. Biscoff cheesecake for dessert was to die for. Alice and Brad the servers were amazing 👌😎💪 One very happy tummy 😋

Edit: After multiple visits to Tomahawk potto over the years, the only constant is the food. We have never had a bad meal here. However, my opinion is, restaurant week does this place no favours. Parking here can be a struggle at times. it's a small carpark and very dark, but during restaurant week, it's an impossibility. Never had issues with service until the restaurant week promotion began. On our latest visit ( second time visiting during a restaurant week), service was slow there only appeared to be one young lady who seemed to bother unfortunately we didn't get her name, our drinks had to be chased up and when ordering our food the waitress didn't seem that bothered or even paying attention. We had to repeat ourselves, and still, we ended up with the wrong steaks. The place was packed, the area itself is not very big so when it's full it's hard to have a conversation as you can hear several all at once and the overall nosie level is high. We will return but will avoid restaurant week, however if we can't we will go elsewhere. We don't order off that menu when we visit. So to have a nicer time, we will avoid if possible. Unfortunately, it appears to be a more regular feature, at the cost of some of its good qualities, it seems, hopefully they can find an even balance. Original review: Very pleasant visit. The food was lovely nice portion sizes in all 3 courses that we had. Staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout our entire visit. Nice atmosphere and not too loud, just people enjoying an evening of food and conversation. Well worth the short drive to get there. Will be recommending to friends and family without hesitation.

Wasn’t the typical pub experience, no cosy wood burner and a little less cosy overall. The meat was absolutely perfect though. It was expensive but definitely worth it. We had the tomahawk steak with several sides.

First time visiting and it certainly didn't disappoint. Opted for the steak and cooked to perfection... wife went for the parmo and again portion size and quality was exceptional. Will be returning

Great for Restaurant week. The menu was outstanding for £20 for three courses.

First visit and won’t be our last. The place has a nice atmosphere and was very clean and tidy. We both went for the set menu which is a very good value for money menu yet the quality of the food does not suffer. The food was perfect and the steak cooked to perfection. The staff were great and Eva who was our waitress was friendly and polite and gave us perfect service.

Sharing board was excellent with great service from the staff. We will be back

We preordered the food as there was 10 of us. it STILL TOOK over AN HOUR to come. the service wasn't great. Noone came over to ask if everything was OK and I had to ASK for people to. Lear our plates. I asked 3 TIMES for my daughters cake to be brought out. food was nice, nothing spectacular. however my mother spent the whole night in the toilet throwing up.

We have been and stayed in this place on numerous occasions and have always ate there and must be honest, the food is impeccable and the staff are amazing. Will always stay there when we travel to Middlesbrough.

This is my second time with the £20 set menu. This is a limited selection, but good value & presented nicely Staff accomodating. We prefer to go off peak, so no issue with parking. We both enjoyed the food today.

Friendly staff and good service. We went for the Sunday Roast sharing platter. Quantity of food is good. Chicken was a little dry but lamb was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately a lot of it was far far too salty - particularly the gravy, chicken and mashed swede. Bailey's creme brulee was perfectly boozie and beautifully set.

Stayed in the suite which was lovely and had a meal in the restaurant which was delicious. We were both very impressed by the welcome and the service we revived from both Ryan and Tess . We will definitely be back.

The best Sunday roast spot in the area - food is always very good and consistent, there's enough of everything to get completely full before the dessert. Service is helpful and kind, place very well maintained and with great atmosphere. Update: nothing has changed and it is still the best Tomahawk out of all. Roast was beautiful, I really wanted to try biscoff cheesecake but sadly they ran out. Instead we just ordered cookie dough which was also very good dessert to compliment brilliant Sunday dinner. Hopefully next time I'll be able to try the cheesecake :)

Absolutely great from staff to food and service couldn't fault them 1 bit . Only problem we had which was we where sat near a group of around 10 people who where shouting over each other to be heard very noisy which when you go for a quiet meal kid free you don't want that , we like to speak quiet and enjoy but this was very of putting . We had the restaurant week offer well worth 3 courses for£20 each

came for a night away with my partner for his birthday, staff were exceptional throughout and looked after us very well. Food was amazing starters a little salty but maybe just my taste, main was a sharing board and there was plenty between us and we eat a lot usually. Room was comfortable the only downside was when next door took a shower and put on thier fan the noise was horrendous in our room woke us up at 7am and lasted for 2 hours, other than that everything else was spot on.

Great night where dietary requirements were met with professionalism. Staff very pleasant. The sharing platter was ideal for us, four older diners, although probably designed for two adults normally. Strongly recommended.

We stayed for one night whilst visiting my sister in law,we was made welcome from entering the building,we stayed in room 5,lovely room very clean.breakfast was lovely,couldn’t fault our stay,looking forward to staying again.

Been 8/9 times over the last few years or so. It's been fantastic on each occasion. We've stopped over twice for a birthday and anniversary. Each time the room was immaculate. The main attraction to this place is obviously the food. Not sure what I can say thag other people haven't already. But it's utterly sensational. We've had breakfast there, Sunday lunch and the main menu. The steaks are best Iver even ate. And I don't how their peppercorn sauce is made, but goodness me it's beyond elite. I can almost taste writing this review. All in alla, we've had great experiences coming here and will continue to come back. My only gripe is the hidden service charge which is billed automatically and the waitress doesn't tell you either. So having spent over £100 the service charge topped it to £109. And then I'd gone and left a £5 tip on top as I didn't realise until after I'd left I'd already been charged. I do find it very sneaky you aren't told. It hasn't always been this way, I certainly remember when I first came it wasn't charged automatically. It's just left a sour taste as it's effectively stealing.

We only stayed for one night but my family had four rooms, one of which was an amazing suite. All the rooms were large and spacious, clean and with all the amenities needed, including bottles of water and tea and coffee. Breakfast is highly recommended and the large full English really is large. All the ingredients were of a high quality and cooked to perfection. The staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable and special thanks to Corin who went above and beyond with here excellent customer service. I would highly recommend the accomodation and the food......the steaks will be of the same high quality and will be had next time. I will definitely visit Any of the Tomahawk restaurants when in the area.

Went for a meal here on the 3rd March at 19:00hrs as our last meal before we came home from a lovely weekend on the 4th March. This was our first time for me and my wife to eat here as we had heard so many good things about the Tomahawk restaurants, So we decided to give it a go.... The food was very nice, our steaks cooked to how we wanted them. Starters and mains were seasoned very well. However the issue we had was when my wife was trying talk with me we had a constant banging of cutlery behind us into a metal container, it was that loud it was ridiculous. This went on through both of our meals, I wanted to complain but I just wanted to get out. We then asked for the bill to be confronted with a £95 with a 10% service charge on top but told the charge is optional. So to have just eaten our meals like we had literally sat in a kitchen, I told the waitress to take the charge off. If the banging of cutlery had not happened and if the service charge was not thrown in my face, I would of left a tip as I normally do. So what went from being a nice last meal with my wife, turned into probably one of the worst sit down meals I have been too. If this is how all these restaurants are then I will pass at paying this kind of money and go elsewhere.

Celebrated my daughter’s 21st at Tomahawk, Potto. Pre-ordered the food as it was a large ‘party’. We were asked when we wanted the food to be served, all food was spot on and perfect.

We went in after hearing some good recommendations but left disappointed. Staff did not suit to work in a restaurant, they were walking around drinking their own drinks and too busy making each other drinks at the bar area… this one waiter (guy) saw a customers drop their cutlery and he didn’t offer to pick it up or give them a set of new ones!! We did enjoy our starters however, our main (steak) was not great at all. It was very unseasoned, you couldn’t even taste anything!! We also got the peppercorn sauce to go with our steak but it was TERRIBLE. It tasted so sweet and it genuinely was not nice to have your steak with. Parking is also very difficult to find. Unfortunately, we will never be going back

5pm Saturday. Very quick and polite service. Fantastic food (we had the Land and Sea sharing platter) and drink.

Don't bother with the 3 courses for £20, food bland arrived luke warm, thai green curry looked like leftover seasonal veg with a curry sauce, sea bass looked like a fish finger, hot chocolate fudge cake wasn't hot, the brisket and cheese hash browns looked and tasted like puried baby food, not a good dining experience

After I heard a lot of good things I was looking forward to it, disabled parking wasn't great and the only space that wasn't taken had tables and chairs in it. If there were others then the cars didn't have badges. Food was ok, I wouldn't go out of my way but not terrible

Had an absolutely amazing steak here the other day. Was cooked to perfection. Didn't have a single fault about anything. Can't wait to go back.

Lovely prompt service. Though they could use a smile. Cozy modern design. Country style. Lovely wood burners. Food is great especially if you go on a deal. Breakfast is lovely. Good prices and plenty of parking.

Stayed as a treat and a celebration. Food was lovely if a tad expensive, trimmings were extra. The room, (suite 1) was comfortable but showing its age and the main door could be heard banging closed up to 11pm. Staff were very pleasant and took care of us very well.

We stayed overnight and had an excellent visit. Our room was large and comfortable and great value for money. Dinner was superb. We started by treating ourselves to cocktails which were very good. For main course we shared the Chateaubriand which was delicious and perfectly cooked. Our four side orders were all very tasty. After a good night’s sleep we enjoyed a great breakfast. The service throughout our stay was top quality. Unfortunately on leaving we found that our car had a flat tyre. The staff were very hospitable and helpful while we waited for the breakdown company to arrive. We had an great stay and would definitely visit again and hopefully we will be able to do the walk that we had to cancel due to the car issue!

From walking in to walking out, our whole experience was 1st class. We were met by the fantastic Ryan, who was the perfect host, always there if needed and extremely attentive. Our room was very nice, clean and spacious, an absolute bargain at £49. Our meal in the restaurant was fabulous. Again, all staff were very attentive and friendly. We had the 3 courses for £20, excellent value and really tasty food. We had breakfast the next day, which was also fabulous. Again, Ryan was there to see that we had everything we needed. We will definitely stay again, and we will definitely eat here again. 10/10

We arrived earlier than planned and the restaurant was really busy but the guy who checked us in found us a table non the less. We enjoyed a gin & a beer and bottle of wine with some food. We had a table booked later on for dinner so just shared a selection of starters tapas style. Our room (5) was beautifully decorated and immaculate, as was the ensuite. Excellent value at under £50 as it was a Sunday night. After a rest & shower wandered down for a couple of drinks before dinner. Great choice of beers, gins & cocktails. Our evening meal was just as good, both had parmos and shared a couple of desserts, cookie dough & brownie,yummy! Washed down with a bottle of wine and finished with Irish coffees. Hubby even took a shot of malt whiskey up to the room as a nightcap. Next morning we had breakfast, have to mention what a great menu choice and all really well cooked. Checked out and had a little 3 mile wander around the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside surrounding thd pub and called back in for coffees before we headed off home, at that point the young lady serving us said the coffees were on the house. What a fantastic gesture, much appreciated and excellent example of customer service. What an amazing hospitality team at Potto from the front of house,  bar & waiting staff  obviously the chefs & kitchen staff judging by the standard of food and not to forget the cleaning team as all areas were immaculate and very well presented. A credit to the business. Thank you! Can't wait to return.

We were a party of four for lunch and all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, choosing from the three courses for £20 which was excellent value with a good selection to choose from. The front of house staff were welcoming, helpful, patient and on the ball with customer service, friendly people and a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely return.

Food was spot on. Really nice sides (it wasn’t just about the steaks). Staff were really good. Had the right balance of seeing we were ok, without harassing us. Best Tomahawk we’ve visited.
