Tollgate Manchester in Trafford

I know the owner of this bar, a very affable South African who certainly knows his European products (he runs a Tapas stall at Stockport's Foodie Friday once per month). Great selection of continental beers, even if they're not the cheapest (import fees etc.) Unfortunately the food last night (Halloumi and chicken gyros) were only average. I will therefore knock one star off my review. I would still not hesitate to drink here, though.

Lovely little pub with the best atmosphere. Massive shout out to Emily and Alfie behind the bar. Warm, welcoming and friendly throughout!!

Greene King pub reasonable prices

It's not expensive and the food was simply just OK. Basic stuff on the menu that was adequate and served a purpose of satisfying hunger. Prompt, friendly service but we were the only ones there. The interior is shabby, scruffy and tired looking and not as clean as it could be. In a handy location but a low-level transport cafe standard. Not my kind of place. Won't go there again.
