7 of us dined here for my daughter's birthday on Tuesday evening at 6pm. The food was lovely and there were no complaints. However the service was very poor. We asked to see the gluten free menu as my daughter sometimes tries to limit her gluten intake, but we informed the staff that we didn't have any actual allergies or intolerances. My daughter eventually decided to order from the main menu rather than the GF menu. She was then told quite abruptly that since she had asked to see the GF menu, she had to order from it. We repeatedly told staff that she only wanted to see the menu and was not actually gluten free. Eventually they accepted this and let her order what she liked, but the whole group agreed that the attitude and intensity of the member of staff we dealt with was not appropriate. The service was also very slow, we were there for an hour before food orders were taken and the food itself took a long time to come out. Overall the whole meal took us 3 hours for 3 courses. Food was beautiful but would only come again if the service improves.

Thanks to all the team at Browns for helping me host a funeral reception. The room was beautiful, the food delicious, and the service attentive and courteous. Would definitely recommend.

Great Sunday lunch for my Wife’s birthday. Pianist playing was a nice touch. Crystal our waitress was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Nice touch on the Happy Birthday slice of cake for my wife.

The refurbishment of the establishment was beautiful and being local to the area myself and my family were looking forward to trying it out. However we never even got as far as receiving a round of drinks. Having been shown to our seats, we waited approx 20 minutes before deciding to order our drinks directly from the bar. My partner was intercepted by a waiter on route who consequently took our order then vanished (we presumed to get the drinks order we had just given). He then returned to clear tables and my partner asked if our food order could also be taken, the response given was that this would be taken once our drinks arrived. My partner then witnessed him seat other people, take their food orders and deliver their drinks. At this point we walked out. The restaurant was busy but far from full. We felt invisible and perplexed as to why we had been so blatantly ignored and other people seemingly prioritised above us. It is obvious that more staff training is required.

Big thanks to our super waiter Evan for a fantastic service for my wife’s birthday this evening. Lovely food and even better arrive. We will be back soon.

I was with my friends in browns Sutton for drinks and then we end up having lunch, and we had such an amazing time also good food,I want to mention especially our waitress Monika she gave us amazing service and good cocktails recommendations,also she was funny and professional,we will definitely come again

Exceptional Service and a Wonderful Lunch Experience! I had the pleasure of visiting Browns Restaurant for lunch with my other half, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and taken care of by Monika, who was absolutely superlative. I am allergic to lactose and I always appreciate extra attention to detail, and Monika went above and beyond to ensure that my meal was safe and enjoyable. She was incredibly kind, gentle, and attentive, making sure that every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lovely, and the service was impeccable. I truly had a great time and am already looking forward to coming back. A huge thank you to Monika and the entire team for making our lunch so special.

Just 2 of us for breakfast, we got sat quickly, not very friendly waitress took our order, asked for a change of sourdough to normal bread but I was told they only do sourdough, so I asked for pitta as they serve shaksuka and pitta goes with that… she very sarcastically replied we don’t serve pizza we are not a pizza restaurant and tried to laugh. 🤷‍♂️hmmmm Anyway after that we were served by a couple of a lot nicer staff. So thank you . Sausages are cheap and dry, bacon is very similar to Wetherspoons, very thin an chargrilled marks on it Coffee was nice and very nicely decorated Wouldn’t return

First visit to Browns. Very disappointed as it was for my birthday celebration. Waited 30 minutes to order ( I finally flagged someone down) Ordered Sunday lunch ( beef) only to be told 10 minutes later there was no beef or pork left (at 4pm) Ordered schnitzel which was ok but the fried egg was so hard had to send it back. When someone came to check if everything was alright I said No but they took no notice and went off! Obviously took the 10% service charge off the bill and was not asked why. So disappointed and would definitely not recommend

We visited in Nov24 when newly opened. Loved the restaurant decor and brunch was delicious. Our server Tilly was attentive, polite and knowledgeable of menu options 😊

Ordered a takeaway and picked it up, firstly the app doesn't work for this restaurant. So I called them up and placed my order. When I got home to try my food, the steak meal was missing chips and mushrooms, ruined meal for me. It wasn't filling enough with the chips and mushrooms missing. Definitely won't be trying them again, however they've done an amazing job of renovating the building.

I would like to say a huge thank you to john for easily getting us in after being let down somewhere else. Would 100% recommend. The food was fantastic. All of the staff were very friendly and made my birthday meal one i won’t forget.

Staff very welcoming and pleasant. Though it didn't effect our service because it was excellent considering not many staff serving considering restaurant was busy. But our waitress was amazing and very professional. With a smile on her face.

Food was bland! The service was appalling and slow even with the restaurant being very quiet. The wait between starters and mains was 30 minutes and another 30 minutes to even be offered any desserts menus. And to top it off £5.15 for a large Pepsi max!!! Day light robbery complete extortion from M&B Over all terrible experience, food was below average, service was abysmal. Even Miller & carter only charge £3.95 for their large Pepsi and they are extortionate as well being 95% frozen pre cooked food. Mitchels and butlers you are becoming modern day thieves! We never ask to service off but with how poor it was today it’s just a let down! Our table was booked for 5pm a table of two on 18th February.

Me and my boyfriend went to the restaurant for valentine’s day and as soon as we walked through the door we were being judged and stared at as if we didn’t belong there. The food we had was lovely and have no complaints on it. Our only problem was that when they had brought us the bill they did not give us the option to pay the service charge and we ended up paying more than we needed to and we felt as if it was unfair and they had taken advantage of us as we were so young. We feel it should not make a difference how ever old we are, we still had the money and still payed for our meal just like everybody else.

The whole experience today was excellent. The food was wonderful (especially the prawn and crab linguine!) Seevice was spot on, with a particular mention to our waitress, Samantha. Attentive service, friendly with a good sense of humour! We will be coming back!

Attended Saturday for what was supposed to be afternoon tea. Buffet style not acceptable. Food appalling. Not enough. Had to keep asking to tea which was warm. Tea pots should have been on the table. £25.00 not worth the money. Will not be going back.

Afternoon tea. Served as a buffet, why? Not enough food brought out, no choice despite us pre ordering our choices Soggy cheese sandwiches, some other stuff in the smallest brioche bun I have ever seen. Small scones, victoria sandwich that was just about edible. £25:is an absolute rip off.

Attended an afternoon tea on Saturday. It was a very poor show. It was a buffet and not what we were expecting. We had to queue up to grab a soggy sandwich and shop bought cake. We pre ordered our food and non of what was on the menu was served. Certainly not enough food was served and we had to ask for more to be put out. We had to pay £25 each for a very meager meal. Coffee and tea was also Luke warm. Very unhappy with this restaurant. Won't be coming back.

Had a so called afternoon tea on Saturday which I can only describe as appalling it was more of a buffet with soggy sandwiches . Not enough to cater for the amount of people. Limited choice, the tea and coffee was cold.. And bought in cakes which I could of made better myself. The staff were young people no upper management present to support them. I would not recommend this place.Having paid £25 for 2 small soggy cheese sandwiches and bought in cakes I felt ripped off. The teenage staff did their best to try and help. It must of been an awful experience for them . Browns is a disgrace to their staff. Poor venue. The room was really cold and dimley lit plus the crap food. I would not go there again and if asked by others I would strongly advise them to go elsewhere.

Gorgeous Sunday breakfast with friends. The staff were extremely friendly on arrival and our waitress, Monica, was amazing. The food was lovely and we thought the deal (breakfast with juice and hot drink for £15.95) was great value for money. Will definitely be going back.

Booked for breakfast and I was very impressed with the quality of the food and drinks. Waitresses friendly and helpful. Very chilly where we were sitting and when asked move told it would still be cold if they moved us. Could have been handled better as lots of empty tables. Beautifully decorated.

Absolutely amazing meal! We love the Birmingham and Covent Garden locations so we were so excited to try a Browns closer to home. The meal was amazing and the service from Izzy was outstanding. We will absolutely be returning.

Been to a few Brown's restaurants around the country. Found the food today to be distinctly average. Bacon used instead of lardons, and overseasoned chicken. They were busy so maybe an oversight but ultimately disappointing.

The interior is beautiful, lovely vibes and a huge upgrade from the carvery previously. We went for a coffee after a walk with our babies in the park. As we didn't want a meal, we had to go to the right of the entrance, down the steps! With prams! No ramp, not accessible, and wouldn't make an exception for us to sit to the left even though it was pretty empty, so we carried our prams down three steps as staff watched. Ordered hot drinks at the bar and a side of fries. Fries came and were delicious. 20 minutes later no drinks! Went to the bar and asked a different staff member to the response of 'hmm, that's the first I'm hearing of it' as if I had made up that we had ordered drinks! Staff and service letting this place down, and if you are in a wheelchair or have mobility issues and don't want a full meal you may have a problem with the stairs. Definitely put us off returning.

Fish and Chips were very nice, as was the Chocolate Brownie. Our waiter Jake was very nice and helpful. They gave us extra Profiteroles for a Birthday. Interior design is pleasant.

Disappointing and expensive Steak approx 10.00 dearer than other restaurants nearby. 5 of us dined for a Birthday celebration, food wasn't hot, Steak was not as requested and Crab and Prawn Linquone lacked Crab and only had 5 Prawns. Service charge added to bill nearly 300.00 for a medioca meal. None of us will be rushing back.

Very un friendly reception lady that was very rude to my partner we were a walk in hoping for brunch receptionist is in need of customer service training. This has put us off trying again .

Location and interior were lovely and really beautiful. Welcome was abit disappointing as had to ask after several minutes of waiting at reception desk with no staff around. Service was ok but staff unsure of food and in app rewards. Food was ok, fairly simple and lacking in much depth of flavour. Lunch menu was reasonable value but a la carte overpriced for the offering. Nice spot for breakfast or lunch but food and service not of the quality to match the high prices.

Lovely atmosphere and food during Christmas. Only the salad was tiny and very basic for £5+, very overpriced for what it was. Service was good, staff may have been new, & could improve on friendliness. Some background music would have enhanced the atmosphere. I think it has recently opened. Would return.

Browns have just opened this after a refit. It is excellent and is very dog friendly. Dogs are allowed in the bar and restaurant and there are dog biscuits! Food and service was excellent, the Traditional breakfast is a favourite!

Such a shame.. we were really looking forward to going. It looks great, with all the usual Browns branding, inside and out. But we felt there were too many covers for the staff to handle. I had the crab starter, which was spread so thin you could see the avocado base, probably a teaspoon of crab. I then had the blade of beef for main which was really tasty, but luke warm. You could argue I should have said something, I would argue being a Browns brand, I shouldn't need to. Will go again but just for drinks around the bar. The atmosphere was good.

Decided to pop in for dinner on a whim, with no reservation. We were greeted immediately by friendly staff and a beautiful interior! The meal was wonderful and everything well presented. The service was attentive without being annoying. Throughly impressed, a lovely addition to the area!

It was my first and last visit unfortunately 😐 The food was delicious, but it was spoiled by sluggish and uneducated staff members. They asked us if we would like to have a jug of water(it was not delivered in the end at all so what's the point of asking?). I asked for Cortado and instead the very young waiter brought me an espresso with extra milk on the side. Is it that difficult to ask more experienced member of staff for advice or simply use Google? Cortado is available in plenty of coffee shops, so there's no excuse for not learning such a basic term. Pity. I considered to come again. I liked the building itself and warm greeting at the arrival until your staff showed their lack of skills.

Party of 10. BBQ skewer tasted of nothing. Steak was nice. Chips were nasty, and sauce was cold. I kept think while I was there that o should have gone to Miller and Carter.

Two very bad experiences 1. Afternoon tea was served after a 45 minute wait by which time the tea had been drunk and when the food finally arrived having had to ask where it was the sandwiches were dry having clearly been left out. We made a complaint and were told there was staff shortages. In fairness the bill was reduced by half and free sparkling wine was provided. The staff were apologetic and said they knew the could do better and to give them another try. So we did on the 11/01/2025 2. Went with family this time and the service was spot on. We have the 3 Sunday roasts and the belly pork. The food was cold the portion sizes on the meals varied between plates with some having more vegetables that others and others having no meat. Extra gravy had to be asked for added to this the roast potatoes were small and hard. Due to being with family no complaint was made. I have eaten at other Browns restaurants and this one has a long was to go to catch them up

My first time in this place and definitely I will come back again! I been served by Monika who made my experience better she recommended me the seafood plate which was so delicious!! If you coming to this restaurant ask for Monika and you will have the best experience.

Dined last night but unfortunately was rammed to the rafters & so service was slow. Steak was nice, wine overpriced! Won’t be going back in a hurry! 1 course each, bottle of wine & 2 beers £138!!

Save you time and money and do not visit . Visited last Sunday to wait 1 hour and a half and still no food arrived . Had to ask if we could order drinks , asked for table water 3 times never arrived .when we came round to ordering we was told on a Sunday there was no beef. A lot of the food they had ran out of so limited food to order . One hour and a half later the food arrived cold . Had a quiet word with the manager to be very rudely told he would take them off the bill. Didn't offer to change them . Didn't really want to eat cold food . Asked if I could pay for the 2 drinks I have had and leave after being in the restaurant 1.45 mins to be told by the manager to leave and forget it as he was walking off to the kitchen ... poor service and very rude male manager . Will not revisit !

Let me start by saying the refurb they have done is spot on. The decor is great and it looks superb. A massive upgrade from the Toby Carvery. Having been here a few times now it is obvious they need more staff. I don't think I've received a coffee within 30 minutes of ordering it. Today it was 50 minutes and it arrived after the food, which took 40 minutes to arrive. It also came without the traditional complimentary biscuit. No point asking for one as it would have taken half an hour. 😬 I felt sorry for the guy taking orders behind the bar as he had to serve, pour the drinks and ALSO take the plates of food to the tables. I don't know how many pairs of hands the management think he has, but the truth is not enough for what was asked of him. I haven't eaten in the restaurant side, just the bar area, so don't know if they prioritise that side to the detriment of the bar. I may never find out, unless I want to take a whole afternoon off, in case my worst fears materialise and I'm left starving and hangry. Note to management: the building and decor deserve 5*...you won't get anywhere near without a massive increase in staff and reduction in waiting times. Lovely brunch though, despite the small portion of beans...the poached eggs were done perfectly. 👌🏽

This venue is fantastic. Visited a few times now and its improved each time as the staff seem to be settling into their roles.

First time at Browns in Sutton Park and couldn't fault it. Great food, really good service and really impressed with the decor. Meal for 3 cost just over £80 ( incl. 2 large glasses of wine and a beer). Food was well presented and tasted excellent. All of the staff were really friendly and courteous.....look forward to going back again soon.

I have visited twice in the last couple of weeks, and while the food has been consistently good, the service has been disappointing. On this visit, we placed our drinks order along with our food, but we had finished our starters before our drinks even arrived—despite asking multiple times. Additionally, our side orders arrived well after our main courses were served. I’ve received better table service at McDonald’s!

I’ve rushed a few times to get there before 12 to order breakfast. And no been able to get breakfast even though I’ve got there before 12. If you say you serve breakfast until 12 then serve breakfast until 12. As we excited And myself and my daughter left disappointed. If it was after 12 wouldn’t have been so disappointed. I feel as long as costumers order before 12 they should be able to get breakfast.

Drove 30 miles to have lunch as we had been to canary wharf last week so thought we'd try the one nearest to us.. checked online menu's and decided to have the lunch two courses. When we got there we were told that they weren't doing the lunch menu..there was an issue with the cocktails and some of the food on the menu wasn't available, it was still only the festive menu ..The place itself was lovely..a little cold in the area we sat, the radiator next to us was stone cold... It's 3 degrees outside so not ideal... Staff were ok ...I can't comment on the food as we didn't stay.

Refurbishment is tasteful, just had a coffee, pleasant atmosphere.

Great to have a brasserie in the park. We visited twice in December, atmosphere and staff are excellent, as is the quality of the food. The only reason I have it a 4* is no lobster available, which happens but I would have expected to be advised on arrival of any changes to the menu. Food options are fabulous:

Went to browns for a family meal, right from the start we were welcomed by lovely polite staff that seated us. When ordering meals we were given plenty of time to make our decision and when we did, the service of the food was very quick. Overall, it is a wonderful establishment with extremely polite, friendly, and helpful staff that made our family dinner out lovely.

Went to Browns for a family meal. We were made to feel so welcomed from the start. Seated straight away, our server (can't remember her name) was lovely. Drinks & food orders taken and made to feel relaxed. Food was prompt and delicious, starters of scallops, calamari and prawn cocktail went down a treat. The mains, portions amazing, I struggled to finish (didn't want to leave anything). Desserts finished off a wonderful meal. Even our pooch had a great time, plenty of treats. Highly recommend Browns, they truly make you feel special.

Been twice now in its opening month. Friends ordered turkey meal on both visits. Turkey came out cold both times. Another meal came with cold veg, another didn't come with crackling as they had run out (but never informed us at time of the order) Try to give benefit of doubt ie new restaurant etc. Staff ok but need a bit more customer service focus. However for the price I'm reluctant to visit again, until I know they have their act together. Come on browns sutton coldfield don't let us down!!!
