We love it at Toby carvery and have bee at least one to twice a month over the last 12months bringing with us friends and family The food is perfect and plenty of variety and starters as well as deserts We had breakfasts as well and still find amazing The staff are welcoming and very polite with friendly personality s We will continue to support Toby as for us it's affordable and excellent quality

Love going here. Food is always beautifully cooked and great selection of vegetables. We are a group of " ladies who lunch " and go here every month. A lovely roast for us all.

First Toby carvery for me, as my wife remembered them as a youngster. Imagine my horror, for this to be the worst roast dinner we have ever eaten out in 40 plus years. Lively staff, but terrible, steady, hard, tasteless food that I would not feed to my dog, and I don't go out top post negative reviews unless somewhere is dire. This food was dire!

We enjoy a Toby Carvery for evenings out for a meal, family and friends Celebrations, any excuse for a meal is a good one and always first choice of venue. The food is excellent, service superb by both Waiting staff and Chefs. Always recommend The Coldra Toby Carvery to friends and neighbours.

Our server Sarah made us feel so welcome. The atmosphere was beautiful with the Christmas lights. The food was delicious.

The carvery was very busy but all the staff seemed very organised and able to deal with the volume of customers very well. We had to queue but the queue moved very quickly thanks to the staff. Please thank the staff for all their hard work. Waiting staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival and when we were paying our bill. The staff serving food were excellent too. Nothing seemed to much trouble. Would highly recommend to friends and family.

Missing gravy and Yorkshire pudding so rang the restaurant to inform them and they couldn’t do anything to help me accept tell me to request a refund through just eat that I probably won’t receive. Won’t be ordering from there again.

Delivery on time. Pleasant courier. Food tasty and plentiful (although a choice between having roast and/or mashed potatoes rather than a combination would be a good idea.)

It was a really busy Sunday afternoons but managed to fit us in without a reservation. Timed it just right as the majority of the meats were just coming out the oven to replenish what was available.

We went to the Toby on Saturday 1st Dec our server was a nice girl called Beth. I'm vegan my partner is not. I ordered the carrot Wellington. All was good. Beth came out to say the packaging was missing from the carrot Wellington so there was no way to tell 100% if it was vegan. But the mushroom pie was. So thats what i had. Thank you Beth for going the extra mile. Now it would be nice if the breakfast menu was overhauled for vegans 😉. That would be awesome. This wasn't 2 months ago. I haven't been vegan in years.

Lovely waitress Leanne, food was lovely but would have liked cabbage instead of green beans, sweetcorn.

Food was not delivered but marked as delivered emailed to try get a refund and was told it was in a ‘ safe place ‘ even tho I fully checked outside my apartment .

After having a meal this evening with the girls from work we were served by Arran who said he normally works behind the bar. What a lovely young man with exceptionally amazing people skills. When we were about to pay he mentioned there was a discount this week if we downloaded the app. Thank you Arran you made us four ladies night by being so honest and making us aware of your offers thus reducing our bill.

Definitely something not right here. Very stressed waiting staff, argumentative with each other, not much evidence of good leadership as seen at other Tobys. Staff seem so unhappy. The chef who served our carvery was however really lovely and helpful. Serving area of the carvery was full of old food and not clean, sauces and gravy all very low and only a bit of cranberry left. Sat surrounded by dirty tables and carpet has yellow tape in places making the room we were sat in look tired. We either have a really lovely .meal or an absolutely awful time here and this visit was horrid, long wait for drinks and glasses, pigs in blankets came out at end of meal despite asking. Corporate please invest in this Toby with new carpets and maybe some help for the staff. Please do not reply with the usual we will take on board and feed back to team, actually make changes, sweep the car park, sort the rope area and rope fence out. Spend money on making it a great place to eat and staff to work.

The food was fab and the kids chocolate Sunday was amazing 🤩 Claire was amazing at her job! Would definitely be back again!!!!

Toby used to be good value for money but not anymore. Used to do an ultimate breakfast but no longer, they’ve cut it down to half the size. And the breakfast baps used to have 2 sausages in but now they only put one sausage in sliced in half. Cutting corners and no longer value for money.

Didn’t supply everything on my order. Very disappointing and rushed.

No stuffing. Gravy was just like coloured water. Also smaller portions of mac and cheese for same price. Other than that I enjoyed it. My dog also enjoyed all of his too.

Asked for 2 veg bowls as my girls only eat 3 veg barley fill a bowl. The man serving said I'll give u plates to make it easier as they had a big Yorkshire pudding. When the bill came we asked why the kids were marked down at £5 each as I specifically asked for veg bowls. Was told because they were given plates that's the price. The manager came over who was very rude and said I will take the word of the man serving the meats wouldn't bring him to the front ran out the back came back and said no it's full price because they had plates with a spoon of carrots and peas on. Never had a problem before ordering a veg bowl for my girls as they don't eat most of what's there . This time we had a rude manager a staff food server who out right lied . Sadly this experience was enough to put us off going back . We drive and hour just to go there

Really good value for money, great all you can eat breakfast although a few extra items would be nice..black pudding isn't available which is a shame. If I can criticise anything it would be the cutlery..no butter knife for toast..the knife you get is great for meat but you can't get the butter out of the plastic carton with it. In all it's a good value tasty breakfast though 👍

My food didn’t come telling me that it got delivered when it didn’t get delivered at all I looked on my camera and there was no delivery here

Food good been with my family many years the last time I had food there was still good . Then I received a 100 pound parking fine. I have since found out u have to register your car .y can't staff ask if u are using car park . If so can u Bob your reg in pad I wasn't aware u had to do this as it was a while since I dinned there. So was unaware. I had to do this .u can be rest assured I won't be eating there again shame really

Food cold on arrival, portion consisted of half the pot filled with mash potatoes. Two small bits of turkey one small bit of beef that was full of fat . Dry carrots and a few peas . No stuffing , 4 pigs in blanket . £20.16 In total for a dismal meal. Restaurant not interested when phoned. Told Contact just eat , definitely wouldn’t recommend it, and definitely won’t be ordering again! Shocking meal

Typical Toby restaurant very busy, fresh food is almost guaranteed, gets very loud and queuing for food can take a while during busy times Don't forget to enter your car details upon entry or you'll be charged for parking

Stopped for breakfast today. For the price it is really good. Some items were a little cold but there was plenty available and it was topped up regularly. The good was tasty and well cooked. Staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming. The toilets could do with a bit of a face-lift as they felt and looked quite tired and a bit grotty.

We had great service for a large group with an evening meal. Staff were really very accommodating. Slightly disappointed with carvery that was warm, not hot and some vegetables overcooked and just warm too. Great value though, and super desserts!!

Called in before travelling to Gatwick, good selection as always, and good service. Toaster needs some repair work doing.

Went for a carvery, had to sit by the bar as didn't book a table and it was Sunday, didn't bother us. Advisable to book in advance if you want a table in restaurant, nice atmosphere and reasonably priced. Plenty of choice and good food despite how busy it was.

Kacey was was a wonderful hostess and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked into the venue this evening. We had the offer of starters and our drinks and menus etc, and within minutes were promptly served with more than generous portions with a choice of five roasts and mountains of fresh vegetables, sauces and gravies and second helpings of the latter. When I was unable to finish all the meat, Kacey swiftly got me a doggy-bag to enjoy the surplus another time. A great night,a wonderful atmosphere and great service, with family members made me feel that Christmas had come early!! Kacey deserves an Employee of the Month bonus in my honest opinion! Excellent friendly staff.. Though roast was ok. . Had better .. Yorkshire's were would've liked cauliflower cheese..as no longer have macaroni cheese anymore All in all ok

Dreadful. Booked but had to wait 30 mins for a table. Drinks machine empty. Beef not edible gristle ..lamb just as bad. Mash lumpy. No gravy. Had to wait for some and it tasted awful (think we were given veggie gravy) Ordered ice cream. Took 30 mins to come....it was like milkshake. I go to Over in Gloucester which I give ten out of ten....Royal Oak Two. The manageress did refund two of the meals

Used to order breakfast from toby on a regular basis. Not anymore. They’ve stopped doing the ultimate breakfast and decided to do a much smaller version. I’ll no longer order from the toby again. Waste of time.

Went yesterday spend £20 on drinks. Lined up for dinner for approximately 30 minutes, they still never had mash potatoes. Everyone was waiting for it. Decided to leave absolutely shocking place,will never return there went to harvester instead 100% better

I'm fairly stupid, i asked for coffee and i was handed a dirty mug. I need to know where the coffee is, the location was not by magic automatically in my head, but no one helped when I asked. I did eventually find it, but everything else was fine

What can I say, it's Toby carvery!

We went to the carvery in Newport October 10th at 6.30pm. The staff were wonderful especially Clare our hostess. We don't mind the queuing up for food. But the food was definately not up to standard. The roast potatoes were soft, the parsnips were hard, the veg well over cooked. The meat, well if you can call it that was absolutely disgusting. The gammon had fat running through it. The pork was really tough, but the Beef was just so awlful, you could not eat it, it had fat and sinue right through it, in fact we didn't eat it, it was just awlful. There is never ant mint sauce when you get there. No apple sauce. The gravy was nice. I think cooking standards have slipped with the meat. They cut you such a small portion these days and it was never like that ever. We were really disappointed in the food in general.

today the queues were very long and it was peak time think it was due to the offer but I was amazed how efficient it was run all the staff were working so hard all the food was kept fully stocked up Well done!!!

After a bad experience a while back and thinking we would give it another go. Can honestly say. It was the best carvery we have ever had. All 4 of us full on agree. Atmosphere was a bit loud. But understandable as it was very busy. Will definately be returning. Well done guys ❤️

Very busy when we called in. Parking was easy regardless of how bust it was. Food was lively as always. Waitresses were very accommodating and helpful. Can't beat a good toby!

I have been to other Toby restaurants accross the UK including London and Birmingham. This one is clearly well looked after ( the carpets are not worn or tired) and staff are warm and accommodating. There is a warm atmosphere. I was late coming from work and did not have the impetuous to cook, so rang this Toby. This was 10 mins before the last order could be taken and I was at least 15- 20 mins away. The lovely lady who answered, despite me being pescatarian came up with an option and said we will put it on now, so it is ready when you get here. I got a lovely salmon encrypted which I combined with the usual. I treated myself to an apple pie and custard, which was delicious. Well done! Thank you.

We did not have a good visit. We walked in and were at the door for 5 minutes waiting to be sat. My friend ordered starters after taking her order. We waited 20 minutes for them to tell us they didn’t have any popcorn chicken left. We then had to wait another 20 minutes for the food to arrive. We had to ask for the bill multiple times as the staff didn’t seem care as they was just talking amongst themselves. It was an appalling service and really needs to be sorted out!!

We visited this branch of Toby Carvery Sunday evening and, to no surprise, it was packed! It was exceptionally busy but the staff were warm, welcoming and pleasant and were coping very well for the number of Guests they had dining with them. We were served promptly at the bar when we were waiting for our table to be ready (we anticipated this as we were early for our reservation). The host was welcoming and friendly and apologised for the delay in showing us to our table but, to her credit, she showed us to our table bang on our reservation time. There was a slight queue for the Carvery, but again, this was expected. When we reached the counter we were offered the choice of delicious looking meats - my partner opted for "a bit of each" to which the gentleman serving high-fived him for having the 'mixed grill' - he was a charismatic and friendly chap who has excellent customer service skills. I opted for the lamb and gammon and both were deliciously lean and perfectly cooked and tender. The vegetables and such were well topped up and piping hot and were very good. All-in-all a very good experience. My only critique would be that the dining area needs a good make over - damp patches on the ceiling, bare plaster plaster where the ceiling has been repaired, marks in the paint work, damaged/broken wall light fittings- not that it would stop us from returning at all! I know it's probably down to budget limitations and out of the branch managers hands. All in all, it was as one would expect from a toby carvery- a decent meal, a cold pint and an lively atmosphere.

Strange that out of around 8/9 veg options you have when you go eat in house the only veg they provide you on your takeaway carvery is peas and carrots? I even specified in the notes to include every veg item they have. Roast potatoes were stone cold

Had an amazing visit, recieved a warm welcome from Josh and had quick and efficient service from his team. Carver, didn't catch their name, was polite and skillful. Definitely recommend the king size upgrade! Would recommend visiting!
