Menu good for vegans and meat eaters but may be a bit limited if you stay at Premier Inn for too long. Prices good and food quality acceptable. Lots of parking.

Came here tonight (17/02/24) for food with my partner and ordered a 2 course meal from the Valentine's menu. The food was nice, not amazing but it was tasty... The chicken goujons were stunning and my partner's rib eye steak was delicious. I had the salmon... There was a bit of a glitch which resulted in me waiting a bit longer for my main and normally this would have been a black mark for me. However, the waitress who served us was fantastic. She put things right straight away, was courteous and professional and she went above and beyond for us which made the evening so much nicer than it could have been. Maisie is a real asset to the team and thanks to her I am very likely to return.

First time trying food here and it was excellent I had a ribeye and it was perfection 👌. Compliments too the chef will definitely be coming back again.

Regular restaurant. The food was good but not great, it took about 20 minutes to be served which was alright. I ordered the Mixed Grill and everything was good but I asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare, and it came out medium and dry. The dessert was nice but albeit small for the price and it took longer to come out than the mains. The server we had was excellent, she met our needs to a T and was very kind. One of the best service I’ve had. The atmosphere was not great, I know this is a kid friendly restaurant but these children were running around screaming and yelling. We were a group of 11 so the table had to be big and we could not hear the person on the other end over the screaming kids. 3/5

Service was great and the food was fairly enough priced and enjoyable. Obviously it’s not a fine dining restaurant but it is a very nice family restaurant. No significant issues at all.

A great place to eat situated between Cardiff and Newport. The food menu catered for all, and at this time of the year a festive menu was a welcome addition.

Went in for breakfast at 9.10am,it finishes at 10.30am the continental needed replenishing and the coffee machine was out of order asked twice for fruit to be replenished, it fell on deaf ears..I would suggest go i in for breakfast before 8.00am you might stand a chance

My daughter’s 28th birthday and we have dined there several occasions prior recently and she chose to celebrate there. A few family members not eaten there previously were highly impressed 😊 staff were extremely attentive and professional fun and inviting…only slight let down with food was a few items on menu already not available but understandable. Overall a wonderful experience for my daughters birthday and will continue to return 😊

A nice little beefeater located just outside of Newport. The staff were super friendly and welcomed me into the restaurant quickly and to a nice clean table. The menu is currently in the throws of Christmas so there's a nice selection of different items to choose from rather than the standard beefeater fare. I was served nice and quickly with all food well presented and really well cooked. I only had a few drinks but these were well served and brought to my table super fast also. A nice Beefeater which is well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Very enjoyable meal & extremely helpful & friendly staff. Restaurant nicely decorated for the festive season. We went at 4pm on a Sunday so was busy but we didn't have to wait long. Food cooked as ordered & very nice.

Booked in the Premier inn on site came here for a pint or food, and got told after 15 mins waiting that there are no tables till after 8.30 pm, and I should have booked a table. No bar so couldn't even have a drink without a table. Really bad service short staffed as well. What is matter with these places.

Always good for a breakfast here, at just under a tenner it’s unlimited and cooked fresh to order not just sitting going cold on a buffet - service also always good when we visit

Stopped in today for some lunch and a few drinks and have to say all was superb, friendly greeting when we arrived and our drinks and food orders were promptly taken. The combo was great value and more than enough for lunch, we then went to the bar to finish our drinks which was nice and cosy and a change from the restaurant - we’ll be back soon!

Terrible service, awful food, complained but it was on deaf ears. We had gone for a lovely family Christmas dinner, Pre ordered everything and went in to book previously. To start when we arrived, they didn’t even have our booking or meal recommendations but they seated us. The food wasn’t cooked correctly over crisp, was not fresh tasted like frozen vegetables looked like it too, it also had a strong flavour of vinegar over the Christmas dinner. The drink came wrong, the food came wrong, we left before dessert as we were all disgusted with the service. Complained but they just shrugged. Paid and went to leave when another person ran up to us accusing us of not paying, we stated we had and when they double checked we were allowed to leave. Disgusting Service.

Popped into this restaurant with our grandson following his game of football. Bar staff gave us choice of eating in the bar or restaurant and we chose the latter. The ambiance of the place felt good. Shown to a table fairly quickly. We all chose the 8 oz fillet steak and boy! were we all really pleased. My grandson and I had ours cooked medium rare and it was spot on. My husband's again was perfect at medium. The taste of the steak was amazing and it just melted in our mouths!!! We had garlic bread to go with it but not enough garlic for our taste but that is my only criticism, that with it was also pricey for what it was. Grandson had Biscoff Sundae for dessert which he loved. (it was very good - I had a little taste!!!) Our service from Gail was excellent. Very attentive. So glad we decided to go there and we will be back when he has further games in south Wales

Great food and great service from our waitress. It's a really nice setting for a family meal. My only criticism, is that it needs to be warmer. Visited the morning of 4th November and it was quite cold inside which was a shame as everything else about the experience was very good indeed. 🙂

We booked for 7pm but no tables on arrival so we were asked to wait in the bar. 20 mins later we got a table. A further 20 minutes later after being completely ignored and being unable to grab anyone's attention we managed to rugby tackle a lovely, but very very busy harassed waitress. 15 minutes later the starters arrived. The food was tasty but the next 20 minute wait for main courses was a long one given that my son wasn't having a starter and was about to start eating the table! Again the food was lovely but we were still ignored, despite being in the middle of the restaurant. We grabbed a nice waiter who apologized profusely (not his fault) and managed to order my son's dessert. One waitress in our section spent all evening chatting (and serving ) two tables, obviously people she knew, whilst ignoring everyone else, leaving the younger 2 staff members to run around trying to do the work of 5 others. Overall we managed to leave after 3 hours. Food and waiting staff were lovely but the organisation/staffing/service was the worst I have ever experienced. Get more staff or maybe make ALL of them pull their weight.

Great food. I have a few food dietary restrictions and there was still plenty to choose from. Sophie was our server and was very nice and quick.

The service at this place was awful. On arrival I could see 5 or 6 tables of two people all waiting to be served. No one was eating. I waited patiently at the counter to be shown to my table. It utter disbelief I wasn’t even acknowledged by staff that they would be with me in a moment. I saw 3 staff members chatting in the bar area whilst helping themselves to a drink. In the end I left very disappointed. It’s not my first visit. On my last one I went with my family for Sunday lunch. My table was booked for 1pm. On arrival I was told that they had sold out already of chicken. Considering the restaurant had only been serving Sunday lunch for little over 30 mins I was surprised to say the least. Will not be returning.

Been going to this place for 30 years and I can honestly say I have never had anything other than a perfectly cooked steak. The staff there always make you feel welcome. Massive credit must go to Gail she seems to have been there forever and she sets the standard on how to make customers feel welcome.

Where do I start well we normally love this place, Josephine is fantastic true service with a smile and can't do enough for everyone, well tonight had some bloke waited to be seated tried to order a drink he said you can wait, then someone took our drink order so seen the bloke again said can we order some food please, his word's were, you can wait till you get a drink lol though he brought drinks for a group that came in after us was shocked but waited, then someone comes along and my partner said well we were thinking off leaving she said don't blame you so you don't want food, we got up to leave my partner says to the original bloke thanks for everything bloke shouts back no worries, didn't even realise we were taking the mick

Lunchtime deal. Had to specifically ask for it as not volunteered. Steak was fine. The outside of the place has rubbish and cigarette ends by the entrance. Only people there . Barman friendly but more interested in television than collect plates glasses etc. Won't be going back

Good atmosphere, EXCELLENT customer service but a shame the Festive turkey main let it down. Family Christmas gathering and some of the party went for standard menu items which didn't seem to disappoint. With the turkey, I got 4 slices of carrot, 3 large Brussels sprouts, 2 small wedges of parsnip, about half a small white potato worth of stodgy roast potatos, a pig in a 2cm by 0.5cm piece of bacon, a tea cup sized yorkshire a dry stuffing ball along with a palm sized single layer of please. I recommend to steer of the Turkey Festive offering in the current financial climate. I'm used to getting 10 times the amount (excluding the meat which would only be 5 times) for half the price. I just want to reiterate that this review is for the menu item our party received, the service was exemplary and no one had any quibbles about the standard menu items.

It's supposed to be a pub but no cask beer the first night, no Guinness the second or any beer other than bottled hazy IPA. Bit of a let down if you've booked in to the adjacent Premier Inn so you don't have to drink and drive.
