Toby Carvery Bradford in Bradford

This place has recently been refurbished and what a lovely place to visit. My wife and I visited for Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed. There was a good selection of vegetables and meats all nicely prepared and tasty.(the cauliflower cheese was superb) there was a good selection of drinks all reasonably priced. Great place to take children. Large car park. The toilets were spotlessly clean and easily accessible. The staff were all brilliant, and so well organised especially as the place was so busy although no one had to wait very long for their food. Well worth a visit.

Lovely food and service from the two servers, only problem was went we went to pay at the bar, the barman, who was not serving anyone would not take payment for our food and meal and was rude, who directed us to the over worked servers to pay, who where lovely

Rachel was our waitress today Tuesday 29th April. She was a happy ,friendly girl, brought our drinks over & she didn't stop clearing tables & wiping around.

We came as a large group. Some of the group were new to Toby, a bit more direction would be nice. We got there about 10.30, after queuing for payment and coffees, the breakfast was winding down fast. So although it was nice, have experienced better

came with 2 friends for a carvery meal. The meal was very enjoyable -tasty & hot. I was the only one who had a dessert- plum & apple crumble with ice cream-delicious! The service was good -friendly & polite. The premises were nice & clean. I came from Essex to visit my 2 friends & I will most certainly come here again when I next visit my friends. Absolutely wonderful service from Charlotte, she really made me and my partner feel as special as the kid in the corner, you know, the one flailing his arms and making silly noises..

The meat portion size has decreased recently, they seem more interested in up-selling you the King Size at £1.99 extra. I asked for two of the 4 meats and the amount the chef gave me was very disappointing, the same was true for the other members of my party. This situation is a shame, as Toby always used to be good value.

Came here on Easter Friday and indulged in one of there finest carvery’s and it was delicious!! We were served by the wonderful Jodie who for sure had service with a smile! Such a lovely and delightful young lady and a credit to Toby Carvery’s team!!

Visited on Good Friday with family have been here plenty of times which is why we came back but today was a terrible experience,the restaurant was not busy but we were made to wait to be seated ,4 staff looked at us waiting and ignored us then a young lady came to seat us,when I went to the carvery counter with my granddaughter for her food the young lady serving the carvery was terrible,she was to busy talking to the girl on the other side of the bar making the 4 people waiting to be served wait until she had finished talking,then when I went up about 10 mins later she did the same thing again to busy talking to the people on their other side of the bar she never once smiled and everything looked like an effort for her ,the food wasn't very good either this time,when it came time to pay our bill the young lady just came over with her tablet and said that's £44.99 today,I said I thought kids were eating for a £1 she said they do if you have a code I said I do, she should have asked before if I had a special offer code she could clearly see I had 1 child and 1 toddler with me as well as my husband,so today's visit here was really bad the food terrible, service terrible,and value terrible ,I did speak to a manager to tell him what we had experienced today he didn't even apologise he said nothing,we won't be returning to this Toby carvery again,

Stopped for breakfast paid, no receipt given. As a vegetarian very little choice hash browns were stuck to the tray and hard, mushrooms swimming in fat, eggs took 20 minutes to be made. Chef had an argument with 2 people by the toaster. Not a good experience, I wasn't going to say anything and just not return but today received a £60 parking fine. I didn't see signs to enter my car registration, wasn't told by staff that is what I needed to do. Deeply unhappy when I called the carvery all the man kept saying was we have 15 signs up love.

I actually travelled a 100 mile round trip to visit this restaurant, so that should give you a strong idea of my opinion of it. It is close to the motorway and has ample parking. Just be careful that you enter your registration number onto the device close to the entrance to avoid a fine. It is not very well positioned and it is easy to walk past. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, particularly Joseph who took my order. I had a well priced Prawn Cocktail as a starter and a carvery as my main. The carvery has a huge range of vegetables available. All items were fresh and the joints were all cooked to perfection - a rare thing at a carvery and the reason I like this one so much. The atmosphere was relaxing and, given it weas an early Monday evening, the restaurant was quite busy. Toby Carvery, Bradford really is a hidden gem

I came here today 9/4/25. We were seated swiftly, and got the carvery. That's when things went wrong. The young 'woman' who is the carver is so rude, abrupt and aggressive. I'm hard of hearing and she muttered something to me to which I asked "pardon?" And she proceeded to scream "KING SIZE OR NORMAL" and roll her eyes insolently. I couldn't believe it. I said normal please and she grabbed the plate and frisbee'd it onto the carving rack and started cutting TINY bits of meat and slapping it angrily onto my plate. I asked for a bit of turkey skin, she said NO. She then angrily handed me my plate and served the next person in the same unbothered manner. So rude. People don't usually pay to dine out to be treated like that. I've never in my life been treated like that dining out before. It's Toby Carvery, if I wanted service like that, I'd have gone to Karen's Diner. She has absolutely no care for her job, and it shows. She has no care for the customers, and it shows and she certainly has no respect whatsoever. Reading past reviews, I'm not the only person to comment on this attitude from her. I can assure you, if she continues to work there, I won't be the last. I'm never one to complain, but I felt so strongly about the manner in which I was treated here tonight, I felt obliged to make management aware. Our server was Troy, who was a wonderfully polite, well mannered guy who was working hard serving, clearing tables and giving bills. He needs a lot of praise and gratitude, he seemed to be the one holding the place together. Attitudes like that young carver girls, don't belong in a customer service environment whatsoever. She's bad for business and I recommend she be kept in the kitchen and not allowed out under any circumstances, or told to find another job because she definitely has no place working around customers. The 3 stars I have given for overall and service go for the food which was delicious as always, and for Troy who is wonderful at his job. Faultless service from him. Unlike that HORRIBLE young girl at the carvery.

Great place to be but I just got a parking notice for parking right in front of Toby’s, There are no clear or visible signs to say you need to pay or even the staff saying anything like that. so how are we suppose to know?. To say I’m surprised is an understatement. And my whole family as confused as I’m.

Best it’s been for delivery since last may (24) please keep this consistency. Yorkshire puddings great size and super tasty. Roasties crispy but soft in middle. Perfect portion of gammon, not super fatty but bit crispy. And generous amount of veggies. Only improvement would be more gravy and slightly less watery.

Second visit to Toby carvery Bradford. We live on the east coast. Passing through the area. Came again because the first visit didn’t disappoint. Once again fab food and service. The meat was so tender. I had turkey and pork, both were so juicy. Hubby had beef and pork. Delicious. Good selection of veggies ( hot too) will definitely come again

Very nice experience, was greeted at the door by Chelsea who sat us down straight away. She was very happy and joyful. Sarah our waitress was lovely, and Joe was a very cheerful chap. The food was lovely and very tasteful.

For a carvery, it's fairly average. Food can often be tasteless and soggy but it's what you expect with the amount you pay. The staff are friendly, helpful and always around for assistance if needed

Potatos was hard and it was all cold but nothing that a microwave cant fix.

Absolutely experience awful food was sloppy completely tasteless and the way it was thrown together in a paper box and the rest in paper bag everything was processed food and not freshly cooked which had just been warmed up.

The most disgusting food. Got pork stuffing yorkshire pudding wrap with potatoes. Potatoes were black n like rocks. missing stuffing, all food was cold - picked my plate up to go get some stuffing and the dirt on the plate was disgusting could feel it all over. Went to get a drink n all bits in my glass. Never ever again.

Breakfast so so, needed topping up and had to ask for items. Worst thing was the extortionate price of a re-fillable Pepsi (how many time do you fill it up at breakfast time) £4.75 never again

Visited on the 24 march staff on arrival were very friendly.however the young girl serving the carvery was not at all friendly saying what do you want in a half handed manor as if she wasn't interested in what she was doing . got the carvery the beef was chewy couldn't eat it the pork was spot on

We enjoyed our Carvery. Everything tasted fresh and not like it had been stood too long. £15 on a Sunday so not able to use a lot of the discount codes available during the week. Still good value for money.

Came for dinner with a friend and experience great service from both Ethan and Luke. Food was great which I believe was made by Jason. Would definitely come again.

We always go between 9 00 and 10 30. As it's quiet which is good. You'd expect food to be hot and fresh at that time as it's just opened sadly not often the case

Troy was a welcoming and polite host - and very helpful with the allergy menu. The food was tasty and a great range for a carvery. We went at 7:45 on a quiet Monday night and were pretty much the only people in the restaurant - so it's hard to mark the 'atmosphere' but all staff were friendly and helpful. Just make sure to log your reg. number for parking when you first go in.

Staff overworked. No cutlery on tables so by time we got ours food was getting cold. Food selection for roasts and veg not good. Cauliflwer cheese no taste and flat cold and undercooked. Noone seemed to be taking charge. Tables not correct when we got the bill. Was rectified. Not a good experience ok. Won't be back in a hurry

Called here a few times and usually very good. This time not so we were ushered to our table quickly without chance to look around. Went to bar to order told to return to table and drinks would br brought to us ( 10 minutes later) food mostly warm not hot beef VERY tough had to leave it. At no time was I told to REGISTER my car and as such I got a £60 car fine. Not very good for a pensioner

Used to really enjoy this restaurant. Have been twice now since the refurb, asked to sit in the back due to anxiety, was told both times the back was closed and both times there was people eating in there and the manager has then put other people in there. Told the manager I couldn't squeeze tightly between 2 other families due to anxiety and said I would have to leave if he couldn't sit me anywhere more suitable, he just shrugged. So I left. Won't be going back again.

I have been looking forward to returning to this Toby Carvery since I first visited Bradford last summer. It was a very stormy night this time and the interior was warm and inviting. Sarah was my main contact and she explained the ordering and payment processes to me as there were no instructions anywhere. She was warm, polite and helpful. I selected a Prawn Cocktail for my starter and the carvery for my main course. The Prawn Cocktail was of a generous size and it came with a plentiful supply of quality bread. My one criticism was that there was just plain lettuce accompanying the starter, with the sauce only having been applied to the prawns. I would have expected there to be further garnish such as tomato, cucumber, as well as a slice of lemon. That said, the prawn cocktail was delicious. The carvery was the usual affair and there was a choice of four meats. The size of the meat portions could have been greater however this was more than made up for by a wide selectio of vegetables. All items were fresh and of high quality. There was a selection of gravies and also wide range of sauces etc. Soft drinks came with a "free refill" option, which I like. My dining experience was filled with ambiance and I enjoyed my return visit. Customers should be aware that prices for the carvery are a couple of pounds higher on a Saturday compared to midweek and the cost on a Sunday is a couple of pounds more than the Saturday price. It should also be noted that there is a need to register your car on a terminal near the entrance. It was good that the greeter made me aware of this as I had not seen the signs. Overall, a really pleasant meal.

Had a fantastic experience at Toby Carvery Bradford. Rachel, the manager, was welcoming and ensured everything was running smoothly. Adam at the bar was friendly and quick with drinks. Our server, Troy, was absolutely fantastic—attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our visit great. Jacob, the carver, did an excellent job serving the meat just right. Overall, a great experience with top-notch service. Will definitely be back!

We were having a family celebration re 23 years post heart transplant of my husband,, the staff were helpful and professional.The food was excellent as always when we have visited

Food was great and very fresh the chiefs behind the counter was quick but attentive! The waiter we had Troy was extremely attentive & happy to help at any given time. Smile on his face brilliant addition to your team, he was professional polite & all round very good at his job.

Im fuming went to this place tonight and my 9 year old daughter was upset because I wouldn't let her go on the teddy grabber in the place for the second time because it's a money grabber and all teddies are rammed together and then she wasn't happy because she couldn't sit in my mates car because they needed to head home so she sat back in the pub because she was cold and a member of the staff from this place started sitting on the floor with my daughter asking her questions why she was upset etc which she had no right to do without my permission!!! I was literally stood at the other side of the door watching her through the glass in the door while the carvery was empty I let her stand inside then the staff think it's oryt to start asking her questions!!! Unacceptable

I ordered a child and for 1 carvery and thay both looked like a child's and scraggy meat the only bit enjoyed from both off us was Yorkshire pudding

Good size portions and food was very nice. I had to place a second order half way through eating as my house mate liked the look of mine so much. Needless to say will be ordering again.

Delivery driver took detour to Bierley Superstore on route as managed to follow the car on tracker. Fortunately didn’t arrive super late or would’ve been very mad. Food arrived with bits missing and gravy very runny. Like water in fact. Had to make my own replacement gravy as original was tasteless water. Paid for extra Yorkshire which was flat and spoiled by roasties that had been shoved in the same bag. Mash tasted almost cheesy and again not very nice. Overall very disappointed

Came here with higher hopes than I should have. The food was luke warm and dried up/pickings under the heat lights due to not being replenished with fresh as it was still cooking for over 30 minutes. Short staff in such a large establishment and took a long time to get the servers attention to order drinks and desserts. The lay out of the carvery section was also terrible as the corridors are very narrow leading to the restaurant and with the cue of people waiting to be served it made it difficult to get through (especially for my disabled grandma). The desserts were expensive and to be frank they tasted cheap and poor quality, leaving us very dissatisfied. Very much doubt we will return here.

Food is always great and lovely atmosphere. I have been here for breakfast which is unlimited and good value. The main carvery is also great, you get meat only once but you can go again for your veggies. The dessert menu is good, I always love the ice cream. For busy times it’s best to book a table. Best to download the Toby’s app to get rewards and keep and eye out for various offers on food.

Went 2/02/2025 and I was served by Chloe. Her service was amazing she always had a smile on her face and it just made the whole experience amazing and enjoyable for me and my family. Thank you so much for making our evening enjoyable. Will defo be coming again x

When for lunch today. To start with the Yorkshire pudding was cold I asked the server to change it and was told they were all the same. After getting the rest of my lunch it was all cold. Water took it and microwave it but it still came back cold. The service was slow waited 20 minutes for our drinks. Very disappointed with the meal won't be going back there again

It's been a long time since we last visited this Toby carvery, so with family up from Devon we thought we would go for a carvery here, all the food was good and the roast potatoes were the best we've had in any pub, delicious. We all left full and happy with the food we have had. Then today I received a parking fine for £100 from euro car parks, saying I was parked with out authorisation, I didn't see any signs saying I had to pay outside or inside the pub, but then again I wasn't really looking as you don't expect to pay in a pub car park, also the car park was covered in snow and ice at the time, so I was more bothered about trying not to get stuck or hit over cars coming in and out, i also had to push my wife who is terminally ill in her wheelchair through the snow and ice to get to the pub entrance as no snow was cleared from any of the disabled parking spaces. This has left us both feeling very bitter on the experience we had now, just wish a member of staff had pointed it out about the parking when taking our order, or if you had a small sign on the tables would help, and your customers wouldn't get ripped off. Do you know if we could appeal against the fine?

hi i recently visited for my sons birthday.everything was exellent until 10 days later i recieved a parking fine for £100 for using your carpark.nobody mentioned this to me and i saw no signs saying i couldnt park there.you either need signs inside your rsstaurant or staff should mention to customers that they will be fined for parking this spoilt our experience of our visit

Not great. Had to wait ages to be seated despite booking in advance via the app, as a party of 10 came in before us and the greeter took them all to their tables and started taking their drinks orders whilst the queue in the doorway built up with new arrivals. When we were seated and our drinks order was taken we weren’t offered the refillable choice, I got a small bottle of Diet Coke when I wanted a refillable drink. When the server brought the drinks to the table, I said I wasn’t offered a choice and he said sorry and walked off. No option to change my drink or anything. When I went for my food there was 4/5 old flat soggy Yorkshire puddings in his serving tray so when I was asked if I wanted a Yorkshire I asked if there were any fresh ones? Server said no sorry - and that was that. So no Yorkshire - I’d have expected him to go into the back for some fresh ones. Hardly any veg left in the dishes, there were hardly any normal roast potatoes in the dishes- just a few swimming in fat at the bottom of the dish. I asked if there were any more - he said some on the top (sage and onion, not normal ones). Altogether it was really disappointing for the money - certainly not what I’d expect and definitely not home of the roast. Won’t be going again.
