Slightly disappointed to arrive on a lovely Saturday afternoon at 3.00pm to find the doors locked and nobody around. The opening times are too varied and not clear enough.

Lovely little pub. Friendly staff, quickly served and a good choice of beers. Just how a pub should be and what you want after a good walk!

Came to Eldwick with my partner on a little getaway and the Acorn was the pub local to where we were staying. We came in on our first night there and we were chatting to the manager Anthony. He told us of a lovely walk to go on and we were planning to come back the next day to tell him we went and really enjoyed it, but didn’t make it back in time! Wanted to say a big thank you for your hospitality and help! Hopefully we can see you again soon and best of luck with the pub! Phoebe and Gary

We have been visiting The Acorn for many many years and have seen over the years it’s many ups and unfortunately it’s many downs, so we thought that we would take a look after a break at the new ownership and we are so glad that we did. A lot of time, effort and money has been spent on the interior refurbishment and it shows, the pub has once again been taken back to a proper cosy warm and friendly traditional community pub. A shout out also to the lovely friendly Landlord who made everyone who came in feel very welcome. We would certainly recommend a visit.

It's a pub pub! Wet sales only (if you discount nuts and crisps) strong local following with quality ales and lagers on draft. Child and dog freindly. A pub that is doing it's best to be a local amenity that has strong support from regulars.

Terrible service from the landlord of the pub! Not one word was muttered when I ordered a pint, from point of sale to payment. Not a welcoming experience. Shame as the other pubs as part of Pickles pubs have a completely different vibe and have enjoyed some great nights there!!

This is a great little pub just off Baildon Moor. Very friendly and welcoming staff who provide great service. We regularly go to the pub quiz on Tuesday evening, which is great fun. Although it's not around the corner it's definitely my go-to local.

Unfortunately this pub took a bit of a nosedive not so long ago, but now thank goodness it is back on top of it’s game. The Landlady is excellent, her expertise and experience shows, the customers and locals are returning and the pub has for the first time in awhile a nice atmosphere attracting families and walkers alike. Spotlessly clean with a good choice of beers and cider. I would certainly recommend a visit.

Called in here after a lovely walk only to be met by small kids charging around and yelling , and even sitting on the bar, they had the whole of the right hand side of the pub to themselves as everyone that came in took one look and retreated to the other side . The usual useless parents who could not care less and are too busy propping up the bar ! It shows a lack of intelligence that on a beautiful Spring day that is all they can think of doing for the afternoon !

First time I have eaten here although sample the beer regularly. The hot beef sandwich was succulent with a lovely salad and garnish. Chunky chips, well seasoned and red hot were a nice addition also. The real ale is some of the best in the area and the pub is getting busier and busier - keep up the good work!

Been to the Acorn a number of times and over the past 12 months it has changed for the better. Some great real ales including Saltaire Blond, Black Sheep and one or 2 guest beers as well as a range of draught and bottled lagers. The staff are attentive, welcoming and also happy & smiley, just what the village needs. Well done all!

We decided to try the Acorn on a Friday evening for a bite to eat and a few pints. We arrived about 19:30 and the bar area was busy. We ordered drinks, the staff were attentive and friendly. Two of us were eating and we went for the steak pie and the gammon and chips. The meals arrived hot and again the staff were very efficient. The steak pie was excellent and my friend said his gammon was too. Two of my friends like their real Ale and both enjoyed the selection on offer. The pub started to get busy and this created a great atmosphere. All in all we had a very pleasant evening and will no doubt return.

We decided to book a table for lunch today at the acorn inn and invited a couple of friends to join us. To say we were disappointed with the meal would be an understatement. One of our party ordered fish and chips. The batter on the fish was very thick and undercooked. One ordered scampi. Also undercooked. So called chips were inedible. My baked haddock was very dry. We told the landlord how disappointed we were and explained why. He agreed with us and straight away deducted two meals from the bill.

We used to regularly go to this pub for a delicious meal- always felt totally full afterwards and serving good beers and wines. We then returned after an absence to find that it was under new management. The meal we had was not sufficient in portion to our previous experiences however we ventured again just recently to choose a different menu- the cow pie(desperate Dan pie we called it) was much more in line with size- and very tasty- it does say that you don't require spuds/chips with this but a few wouldn't go amiss as there was a lot of gravy in the pie and a small jug as extra- it's nice to soak all this up with something. The crust was really quite delicious. The sizzlers salmon was substantial but I found I could have eaten more. They have various offers on eg home made burger for just £6.00 which is really very good- we'll have to try that one next time maybe, we tried a similar steak offer previously which included wine but were a bit disappointed with the portion and wouldn't have that again. Menu is fairly wide with selections, pudding sizes are rather small for £4.50 but there again it isn't overpriced for what you get- and yes I would recommend you going.

This was my local pub. Spent time here with my family as a young man from discussing my university choices with my mother to catching up with my grandmother. Wrote parts of my thesis here. The food was affordable but good, the atmosphere relaxed. This was a sit down and eat pub where you could linger after your meal or come in late with a laptop to work over drinks. Quiet cosy and friendly. It was also filed with books and photographs steeped in local history. But after the pandemic the owners sacked the chef and sold the kitchen and fewer and fewer people came. It wasn't financially viable as a wet pub in an area where many came to eat and quite a few are tea total. Only time will tell what happens next but the owners have shown no sign of reopening.
