Dick Hudson's in Bradford

The pub interior and exterior was very welcoming. The food was excellent. I had the sea bass and my Mum had the vegetable penang curry. I thought that the sea bass dish could have had a bit more potatoes and veg but otherwise it was very tasty. Jess provided outstanding service and was very friendly. When we wanted our puddings and coffees brought together Jess did this and even added a small flapjack with the coffee as my Mum likes. We enjoyed the meal very much and will be back.

All of us enjoyed our visit to Dick Hudsons, the food, service, atmosphere and location were excellent. Will certainly be returning again soon.

I visit Bingley to see family a couple times a year. Always visit this pub as previously it has been a fantastic experience. Unfortunately, this was not the case this time. Had the trio of roasts and 2 x chicken burgers, on a Sunday. Service was great, the food left a lot to be desired. The burgers were edible but overpriced. The roasts, well, the pork was a about the size of a match box, there was a small piece of crackle that had been cooked separately, the turkey was the best of the three, the beef, a single slice that appeared to have been boiled. The two reheated duck fat potatoes weren't too bad. The roast carrot and parsnip were charred black on the bottom. The boiled cabbage was less than appetizing. The best part was the gravy. For close to 20 quid, the roasts were well below par. A very expensive and unsatisfying meal overall.

Very tasty lasagne and the calamari starter was really good. Lovely service from Sarah and a great 2 courses for £16.95 deal. Will be back.

Excellent Friendly Service, with Tentative Staff, and Delicious Sunday Roast. There are also Dining and Dog Friendly areas which are separate to suit everyone.. This is one of the Best Sunday Roast Dinners that I've had in a long time, and will definitely visit again. If you like Good Food and Good friendly service, look no further than the Dick Hudson Restaurant. Well Worth a Visit.

I spent some quality time with my Brother. It was busy but the food was good not outstanding. The sweet was lovely better than the main. The waitress was a bit sharp but the manager was welcoming. The things which let this place down. The windows were filthy and the carpark was not fit for purpose. I had to park at the back in a gravel pit. No bays please invest in your infrastructure more. I am sure you are making enough money. It needs to be levelled off. Keep up the good work on the food but start looking at the bigger picture. Good 🤞.

Visited with my brother for the set menu lunch for around £16 so about £20 a head with a drink. Gammon was great with runny egg. Slight change I asked for due to my chrons disease. Sticky toffee pudding was good, not as sticky toffee as I would have liked. Everything was beautifully presented. The server was slightly off, not rude as such, but not as welcoming as the other staff. something was a miss, which slightly impaired our visit. Also, as a side note,windows were dirty on the outsid, too much on the rustic side,just attention to detail was a bit missing. I'm being fair in my review as the gammon was excellent and for the price point all in all food was good. Being a destination pub though thoose little things were just off the mark. We left a tip too as one person, the manager, I think, just welcomed us in and said goodbye on our departure. I took a Christmas menu as the atmosphere is lovely in there. I only live 15 minutes drive away and would like to invite family to eat there over that period. All in all good slight improvements and the full 5 stars would be given.

Roast dinner is a good plateful so you may not need a starter. The mini pudding and a hot drink is a good option at the end off a meal though if you don't feel able to tackle a whole pudding.

We came here as a family on a beautiful sunny day and we were not disappointed! The view was absolutely amazing from this pub and the food and drinks were equally as nice! Great place to come for a family meal and a bonus if you get to sit outside for a drink on a sunny day. For starters we shared the scotch egg, halloumi fries and chorizo sausage bites, they were all delicious washed down with my cocktail sat in the beer garden. For mains we both ordered the pan roasted lamb which was absolutely delicious and being a big lamb lover, I would find it hard to return and not order this again!! Our son ordered chicken nuggets and chips, surprise surprise, which he enjoyed. For dessert I had the sticky toffee pudding which is ALWAYS a winner in my eyes! My son ordered the trio of ice cream which was quickly devoured and my partner had the double chocolate brownie which he also swiftly polished off. The staff were friendly and the cocktails were good. I also much preferred our visit here to the Cow and Calf pub in Ilkley which is also a Vintage Inns pub with a very similar menu ( see my other post for that review on that ). We will definitely be returning at some point. The food was delicious. We were warmly greeted by staff and made to feel very welcome. The prices were very reasonable and the meal was great value for money.

Our main waitress Nicola (and one of her daughters, with long, blonde hair) looked after us superbly - Nicola is a real credit to you. She was attentive without being pushy; friendly yet professional, efficient and helpful. Her customer service is of a very high standard, which I and all my other 8 guests really appreciated. Add to that the fact that all our food was beautifully cooked and very tasty and you always have a good selection of drinks available (I always enjoy the bitters you have on) and it made for a wonderful meal for us all. Thank you!

Had a family Sunday lunch with my elderly mum and wheelchair, access was easy, the disabled toilet was big and clean, and the food was...fantastic !!!! Our servers were brilliant, especially Nicola who went that extra mile, well done Dick Hudsons !!! 100% excellence !!!

Had lovely lunch today with 2 other ladies.......my meal was tiptop. Steak sandwich+ chips,then delicious Eton mess !! Good value +very cheerful and polite waitress. We will be returning very soon ! THANKYOU.

Fabulous Sunday Roast and vegetarian burger . Finished with a small desert and an Irish coffee . Ambience is always very warm and friendly, with fabulous views over the Airedale valley . Perfect end to the day after completing the Yorkshireman Marathon

Came for Sunday with my sister who lives abroad and rarely gets a Sunday lunch.

Returned after a few months and was greatly surprised. The quality has really improved and we will certainly return sooner. Steak and Ale pie and gammon recommended. Staff were friendly and welcoming too.

Called in by chance to enjoy my sons birthday and had a really enjoyable meal. The day was wonderfully enhanced by Nicola who saw to our every need with a lovely smile and welcome. We all thoroughly enjoyed everything that we ordered and felt as though there was no rush whatsoever. It's a great place to socialise and eat and we will definitely call again. Many thanks Nicola.

A well eastblished pub and eatery. Good selection of real ales. It's slightly pricey. Food is good with large helpings. The added service charge is unwelcome. Great atmosphere and good staff. Need a car to get there but only 10 minutes from Bingley train station via taxi.

It’s a pub with a silly sounding name, but there’s nothing silly about this pub. It’s a hidden gem and a fantastic place if you’re looking for a nice drink or dinner/lunch - either solo or with friends and family. You’ll notice I give it 5stars for food, atmosphere & service - because all of those elements are spot on. But the ONLY reason I’ve given them 4 stars is because there’s no WiFi. I know it sounds harsh, but there’s no signal up there. AND it would be a lovely place to also do some work, if you live locally. But with no WiFi and poor signal that’s its only flaw. BTW: it’s also dog friendly. So if you love dogs, bring your furry friends. If you’re not into dogs, allergic or have a fear of dogs, make sure to ask to sit in the dining room & there’s another door you could enter/exit from to help.

Had a lovely roast dinner today with the family. All of our potions were very generous leaving us all satisfyingly full. Everything was cooked perfectly especially the Lamb and was served lovely and hot. Jess our waitress was fabulous and topped off our 5* experience.

Service was excellent, staff were friendly, helpful and very attentive. Food was delicious and served very quickly. Good portion sizes and the presentation of everything was stunning. And the value for money is excellent too. We’ll definitely be back!

Had such a great meal and service last night. We arrived early to eat before the quiz. . Nicola our server was amazing and showed us to our table. She was cheerful and so helpful and quickly brought our meals. The lasagne was delicious and my husband had the steak and ale pie which he also enjoyed. Friends joined us for the quiz and Nicola continued to deliver all our drinks to the table for the rest of the night! The quiz mistress was also superb. Great quiz night thoroughly enjoyed by all. Simple food with some quirkier stuff all cooked really well. Great selection of beers and really friendly staff. Quick service, mud range pricing, decent top to bottom.

Meal with friends on a Monday evening. Friendly welcome and a warm atmosphere despite it being a Monday evening. Food was rated good or excellent by us all. The service was friendly and efficient and a concern about a second pint of beer possibly not being what was ordered was handled very well. The waitress who served us was first class. We have visited this pub on a few occasions and have always rated it highly.

Service was absolutely fine, but the food was comfortably some of the worst we’ve had. Fries were cold and dry (beyond crispy), salad leaves were brown and had wilted, and the Mac & Cheese was covered in flour and cold in the middle. Don’t eat here!

Amazing lunch today! Food quality was of a very high standard, but HUGE portions so was unable to finish, but my god it was good! Nicola, our server, was a very cheerful and tentative, showing interest in us and no requests seemed to be an issue! Our table was nice and tucked away, giving us a proper little couples lunch, which we loved.... And it was dog friendly, so Cooper had a good day out and was supplied free snacks and water! Happy dog, happy house! All round, 5 out of 5! We will be dining there again and highly recommend!

Called in for an evening meal , the food was really nice and was piping hot , the waitress was lovely , nice atmosphere, couldn’t fault anything, been a few times now and the bar staff and waitresses are always really kind and welcoming, so slightly confused when I see reviews saying different , suppose you can’t please everyone, but I will definitely be back :)

A lot better than it was last time I visited 3 years ago. Food nice and atmosphere nice. Service was good also. Poor selection of real ales....for an IPA I was offered an Americal Pale Ale..... nothing like an IPA. Overall very good....but get some decent beers in.... Timothy Taylors wasn't on.

Best Sunday lunch ever! The food was amazing, we both had the roast trio which was so yummy, topped with cracking which was devine- so well cooked. The service we received from all the staff was brilliant, very friendly and we felt welcome. We will definitely return! Thank you.

Nice surrounding but food was really poor. Vegetables had been left out overnight so they were dry and cracked. They think this is acceptable when serving for children. Food was served cold and my husband had fish and chips was sick all evening. Once this place was very nice but our food was comparative with a low end weatherpoons. Will not be returning. We paid £70 for lunch for 2 adults and 2 children. Just mains and 1 drink each. If we paid 70p it wasn't worth it.

Went here for Father's day. 6 of us Sunday lunches all went back as they were cold and when we complained was asked if we wanted it warming? Everyone in the party except 1 person sent most of there meals back due to cold food. Other tables had also sent back full plates of food? Staff were friendly and the manager apologised and knocked some of the meals off and a round of drinks. The toilets also were in need of a good clean too. We used to come here years ago and it never disappointed. We definitely will not be back

Visited on a Wednesday evening, not overly busy but a good few people in. Food was good and treated ourselves to dessert. 2 of our party are Coeliacs and we were given separate menu which showed items available, there was a good choice apart from showing fish & chips but the pointing out that fish was fried in same fryer as other food so couldn’t guarantee cross contamination, good to be advised. Jess was our main server of the day, very knowledgeable and friendly, made us feel very welcome.

My wife had the Sea bass which she said was lovely, really nice, I went for the Mac & Cheese. This was OK although portion size quite small and the additional beef brisket, barely a spoonful. Accompanying salad lovely and fresh. All in all if I went again I'd be having the Sea Bass. Staff very pleasant and helpful, and quite busy for a Tuesday evening. Grass outside desperately in need of a cut!, first impressions count!

Fantastic evening! Our waitress, Jess, was particularly helpful. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and even highlighted which options were gluten free for me! Really chatty and prompt service. I'll definitely be back!

Update.. 2024. Visited on various occasions and the food is really good with a new staff structure. Loving the vintage app which gives incentives and discounts on food. Been in various occasions and food is really good.. fish and chips (haddock not cod) being one. Will start by being positive and saying that staff were very polite and lovely, food & drink was very good but just let down by lack of communication. Now on to the unfortunate issues, for our family Christmas Day meal. Arrived at 12noon and finished at 3pm. Main course was served 30mins later than everyone else around us and this was only after we mentioned it to a staff member. We then had to wait for our deserts when all the other guests eating around us were leaving. It was obvious that they had missed us as the deserts were rushed out within 5mins of highlighting this to a staff member.

Went on Sunday, the best meal out of our party was the trio Sunday lunch, the chicken pie looked impressive BUT only 4 pieces of chicken in the pie!! ??? The sea bass was over cooked, the childrens food pasta was ok but the accompanying raw carrots were dry, hard, not peeled and looked like they had been sat on a plate all day!! Both starters were nice. When I mentioned to the waiter the state of the carrots all he said was “ok I’ll mention it”. Coffee ordered but they forgot and had to mention again after 10 mins, £2.75 each for a children’s small ice lolly??!!! Would I go again? Probably not as so many other good pubs nearby
