This place used to be the life and soul of the area. Now it does not serve any food (which it was known for) and closes when it wants. Closed at 8pm last night because the landlady ‘had no staff’ bearing in mind it’s never full and I’m unsure why she couldn’t man the bar. Sometimes they don’t have the drinks in and they’re running to the shops to buy in bottles. This needs new management it’s the only pub around the area and could be made back into the place it was.

However, here we go.... I ordered pork meatballs with an additional side. Both items arrived simultaneously but the pork mince was clearly below a safe temperature. It took me putting half of one meatball to realise the situation was going awry. Bar staff were already dealing with an existing complaint. I returned the dangerous dish to the chef directly. I am a regular at this hostelry. Or should I say I was. I'm appalled by the liability left to fend for himself in the kitchen whilst his management team were busy moving out, despite still being under contract. He was insufficiently supported. Wrong on every level. I received a weak apology from the GM at best which I accepted due to the fact I appreciate moving on is difficult . This should not have happened. Under any circumstances but it did. I'm so disappointed and equally furious that what took place was not taken seriously..... Shoddy management all round.

We dined here today and I must say we really enjoyed our meal..The staff were friendly and helpful they are following all covid procedures. We both had the Sunday Lunch I had Roast Beef and it was tender and delicious you get a big plate with fresh veg homemade roasts and homemade Yorkshire puds that at most places are frozen so we were very happy with it..My mum had the half a roast chicken and she really enjoyed that too!..The prices are very reasonable and we will definitely be returning..

5 star service, excellent food, owners Lorraine and Marion are very friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Started calling in here again after easing of second lockdown. Under new management. Received a friendly warm welcome and encouraged to " track and trace". It was very busy ..with many taking advantage of the sunshine and large outside area. The two new managers ( later introduced as Marion and Lorraine) were working hard providing table service with drinks and food. I've now had three meals here and all were really nice. The steak was perfectly done and the chicken platter and burger are well worth a try. The grazing menu sounds good too. In quieter times I've chatted with the two new girls and found them very friendly and amiable in their approach. It seems they have plans for the place and I hope they pull it off. A very pleasant and professional service in my opinion.....would recommend....give them a try. Satisfied customer....Chris.

Customer service was terrible by the woman there, nothing on menu, cooker broken but really sounded like they just couldn’t be bothered making anything, food was disgusting and tried to push vegan burgers onto my children. Flat beer, awful! Never again will I go back there! Now it’s changed hands it’s a disgrace. I’ll be spreading the word but probably will be shut down soon. Shambles

Since our places of choice were not open due to coronovirus restrictions we decided to try the Hare and Hounds for a late lunch. What a disappointment! The Nachos were made with WHEAT not corn, something not specified on the menu so I had to send it back. In addition they were tasteless and nothing like the traditional corn chips that are the basis of this classic starter. The Halloumi fries were coated in breadcrumbs. Why? My friend had the spinach falafal burger which she found insipid and tasteless. The sweet potato fries were soggy, without any seasoning, and barely recognisable in taste. So I passed on this. I had to order the salad for lack of any other options and they had the cheek to present it minus the hoummus which was the only bit of protein available with the bit of cucumber, carrot, beetroot and red onion and blob of guacamole that passed for a main meal. No dressing or vinaigrette was provided with this uninspired offering, so I had to pass on this. The only other dish I could have , the mushrooms, was not available. I had heard that the Hare & Hound had improved in food quality. This certainly was not the case for the Vegeterian/Vegan option. Will not be going back there again.

We ate here today for Sunday Lunch..The place has been taken over again which seems sadly to be a theme here..The current owners are very friendly and the place is spotless and up to date with current covid measures..We had a Sunday lunch each mine was beef my mums was half a chicken ..There was plenty of fresh veg lovely roast and Yorkshire pud with extra gravy..The meal was lovely a fair price and we will be returning..

Another nice evening at Hare and Hounds on Toller Lane. Ian and Phill have made such a difference to this place already. So good to see them putting an interest in this place. Service here is excellent. They make you feel welcome and attend to all your needs.....even covid reminders. Tried different meals from menus and everyone of them really nice. The attention to hospitality here is second to none. Sanitisers....one way system....track and trace...feels really safe here. If not sure what to do they are on hand to gently help you through it. Let's get rid of covid. Then let's hope the company gives this place a re-firb . I can see Ian and Phill making a real go of this and turning this place around. Until then ...give them a try. Really impressed with hare and hounds, visited on 5th sept. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the southern fried chicken platter and what a treat it was, crispy batter and juicy chicken..not forgetting the gravy! The service was great and staff went above and beyond. Would highly recommend a visit to this pub.

We all had a lovely Sunday lunch on 30th August served by Phil and Ian who couldn't do enough for us. Food was really good was hot with loads of gravy for those who needed it even the dog was looked after with fresh water. We would all recommend a visit there.

This has been our local for over 15 years and have seen soooooooo many management changes and the food going down hill. Since been taken over by new management ' Ian & Phil' wow what a transformation. The food is amazing and soooooo tasty, my favourite has been the Southern fried fillets with abit of salad and the best gravy ever, I even drink it out of the jug as so nice. Onion rings are home cooked and again loved them, batter is so light and makes you want to eat loads. I have eaten here 3 times so far since Ian & Phil have taken over and have not been disappointed once, infact can't wait for my next visit, which will be very soon, believe me. Ian & Phil are fantastic hosts, social distancing, hand sanitisers, one way system all in place. Outside is looking very nice too with the lights n flowers. More improvements are in the pipeline for inside and out, so will only get better. Came back here after lockdown restrictions eased. Things are difficult for us all at the moment and probably most of us are a little reticent about coming out.There has been a change of management and I was well impressed . It didnt take long to get to know these two ( Phill and Ian ) and they dont miss anything. Always a warm welcome very attentive and work hard at hospitality . Food is good and well presented had the southern fried chicken platter and was well worth it. Staff here trying really hard to get this place up and running again. Just needs our support. All govt.guidelines in place and encouraged. Give it a try.

Always been my local but food was never great. So always chose to just drink. However they have new landlords. Ian and Phil. Who make u feel so welcome.and are Very approachable. I was told the food now was amazing so had to try. I opted for the 3 plates for £12 so I could try a variety. I ordered. The crispy chicken and gravy mushrooms on toast with Stilton and the breaded whitebait fish. Omg the chicken was to die for my friends got the chicken burger which I will after try next. So will be defiantly booking for food here again.

This pub has recently reopened and has clearly had a deep clean. I’ve been for the past few weekends and it is rather impressive. The two guys who are running are extremely attentive and professional. The Saltaire Blonde is absolutely on point and last night we had some food from the grazing menu. Three plates for £12. The homemade sausage rolls and HP sauce/ the chicken fillets with chicken gravy were superb. These two guys are obviously working really hard and it is paying off with many regular faces returning. It would be good to see the company give the place a facelift which is overdue, as this pub still has so much potential.

Drinks are ok, but food is terrible. Hare and hounds need to employ a chef that knows how to cook and present food

Group of 9 visited for Christmas meal on Monday 15 Dec 2019Prices reasonable, starters tasty ,mains hot and good,roast potatoes a bit dry .Salmon served dry no hollandaise sauce but tartar was offered .Desserts were nice .Staff were pleasant and helpful .£14.95 for 3 coursesThe table was nicely decorated ,crackers ,and Christmas serviettes ,staff offered to take photos of us celebrating.

We felt welcomed by the staff, an effort had been made to dress up the table for Christmas. Nothing was too much trouble for the manager or his staff. The food was lovely, though the turkey dinners were rather large for the ladies who had ordered them but I'm sure most men would finish them off. Turkey, roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, stuffing, yorkshires, 4 veg & gravy. I had the salmon which was lovely and a good size and this also came with potatoes and 4 veg. The salmon terrine starter and the soup were also well received as was the Christmas pudding and the chocolate brownie desserts. It wasn't very busy but there was music in the background and banter from the staff. They even offered to take a photo of us having fun in our paper hats.

Avoid at all costs, the food served was the worst I have ever come across. We were a party of 11 people and not one meal was acceptable, when we arrived we were told they had lost our order. When the meals started to arrive the mixed grills all had items missing and the person serving had no idea whether they were well done, medium rare or medium. The food was cooked only on one side so was inedible, whilst the supposedly 10 oz gammon looked like a 3oz piece of bacon on was barely cooked. The “chef” made no attempt to come out and explain the poor standard of food that was being served. On our previous Christmas visits under different management it was very good but now, disgusting.

We went last night at 7.55pm to be told the kitchen was closing. The chef saw us and said I will cook for you. Thought this was good of him. My partner had the sausage& mash and I had fajitas. We also ordered a portion of cheesy chips.The fajitas were lovely such good value, the chips homemade were lovely. My partner liked his meal. Only comment he made was the sausage wasn't the best but when your only paying £6.99 you know not to expect the best. Very good service and value for money. Will be visiting again.Nice touch the chef came to ask us how the food was :-)

Came for a lovely meal out with my mum. Ordered the 8oz rump steak which was cooked perfectly! I would highly recommend

Went her for a beef roast dinner at 2pm, went to order and told no beef only Turkey, so decided to order that, when meal arrived like warm there was Turkey, mashed potatoes, hundreds of green beans, spoonful of cabbage and the whole plate full of food swimming in gravy.

Me and my partner went last night for a couple of mixed grills and they was great, well presented, plenty to fill us up and didn't have to wait to long. Will be having another. They have a steak deal on Thursday night also at £25 for 2 steaks and a bottle of wine which I thought is a good deal.

It was a Wednesday afternoon and there were very few people in the pub. We ordered a mixed grill and a grilled cajun chicken, non of the other 7 customers were ordering food. After waiting 40 minutes the food arrived. The steak should have been cooked medium but was very well done and tough so it was left. Onion rings overcooked, corn on the cob was ice cold in the middle. There was no staff around to speak to so we left. On leaving we saw the chef and bar staff outside sat smoking. Will not be going here again.

my daughter and I went for a meal on Friday I had a sirloin and salad and my daughter had the lamb shank.. it was lovely the staff was friendly and helpful..we shall be returning.

We've been coming here for a lot of years now and it's had a lot of new owners some good some not..The latest ones seem to be doing a good job!..The staff are nice and attentive the place is well kept and clean with ample parking,the food is very good..We had a Beef Sunday Lunch and was very impressed..The Beef was tasty not chewy and plenty of it..The veg was fresh cooked perfect and again plenty of it homemade Yorkshire Pudding creamy mash and perfect gravy really made it a enjoyable meal and we will most certainly be going back...

I’ve been a customer of this pub for many years. It’s always been reliable, even though it has had its ups and downs with different managers.

Been coming here for very many years, but unfortunately the buzz, atmosphere and warmth of yesteryear is long gone.

Shocking service and the place is freezing. nonmenus out on tables, we were offered a menu by waitress/bar staff and waited ten minutes for her to bring it. Got bored waiting and had to go get one from the bar myself. Food took ages to come and there was only a handful of people dining. Dread to think how long the wait is at busy periods.

Sunday lunchtime, very busy, waited too long for our main courses, nothing special However the restaurant was freezing cold, radiators luke warm - no atmosphere - that`s it, the last visit, plenty of competition in Bradford

After living just around the corner and past food offerings not been the best a friend told me a new company had taken over so we decided to give it a go duck salad was good and plenty of duck ....mushrooms and stilton on toast very tasty i had rump steak it was a good bit of rump tasty and came with all ths trimmings fish n chips was ok moist haddock batter slightly over done the missus said she will have rump next time 2 courses for £12 good value service was good too wilk return to try evening menu 2 course £15

Came to the Hare and Hounds on Friday night for a catch up with an old friend. I hadn’t visited the Hare and Hounds for some time due to leaving the area but I was happy to see the pub doing well! On approach the car park was clean and tidy, when I walkes inside that continues, to say how busy it was I was glad to see tables that were clean and not full of plates or glasses, so well done to the team! Behind the bar I was met by two smiling faces. I didn’t get there names but it was two girls, one with quite short dark hair and one with longish dark hair tided up! They both were efficient yet full of beeming smiles and great personality! Was good to see bar staff enjoying there jobs and who clearly had a great working relationship! Behind the bar are a great selection of gins, some that I hadn’t seen in many pubs around Bradford. There was a great selection of soft drinks too which was great as a driver. I saw some local guest ales on which I was gutted i couldn’t sample but on another occasion (when I didn’t have to drive!) I would love to try. The price for our drinks was very reasonable too! As we were sat chatting we had a look over the menu and I there was a lovely selection of food. They also have lunch and evening menus which were running Monday to Saturday which looked like a great deal. All in all the pub was lovely and full of a good atmosphere with good groups of drinkers. Again I can not complement the staff more as they were two lively girls with great personalities who has amazing customer service skills. So well done Hare and Hounds and I look forward to returning to sample the menu and try the local ales.

Came for lunch on a Friday with family. Ordered 4 meals which took nearly 45 minutes to come. All very basic. Pasta looked like it had come straight out of microwave. Gammon looked decidedly undercooked. Chips were awful. I know it’s cheap but not that long ago you could get a nice meal here. No one asked how the food was. Apart from it being brought to the table didn’t really see any staff. There are much nicer places to eat at similar prices so probably be a while before we go back.

Went for a family meal it was only early 1pm they were 6 of us we asked for the menus and were imformed they were on the tables so we bought a round of drinks while deciding what to order went to the bar to order the food wish we hadnt of bothered we all wanted a starter out of the 6 starters ordered only 3 were availble but we chose the alternatives they had we were ordering our main course at the same time or should i say TRYING to they had NO scampi NO mix grill only 2 pieces of sirloin steak left no halumi cheese no garlic mushrooms we asked to see the manager to complain and was told we dont get a delivery till tomorrow thats not what we wanted to hear really what should of happened when we asked for the menus when we first went in they should of imformed that they were a limited choice on the menu then we wouldnt of had to buy a round of drinks very very dissapointed and wont be going bk

A good range of drinks and food, coupled with a warm welcome and efficient service made this an excellent place to relax on a Sunday afternoon.

Dropped in for lunch and chose the 2 course £7.95.

We had very good meals, my steak was second to none, even a good supply of well prepared vegetables too. All three courses were carefully produced and promptly served. They friendly staff did their utmost to look after us. We thought the wine was very reasonably priced.

Come here regularly with a family friend as he lives nearby. It's not often you eat at a place where three pints costs more than the food!

Just visited today. We have been going here for a number of years and the food continues to be good value. However a change in ownership appears to have resulted in massive increase in wine. House white was £14.99. Only found out when paying the bill. Sadly wont be returning here again as its no longer value for money.

Esta noche había ido por una comida tranquila y beber con mi tío. El Leeds Pale Ale estaba en el doble, para ser justos no cambiar por otra bebida de mi elección que sabía bien, así que estaba todo muy bien. En cuanto a la comida mi cadera era tan difícil que me estaban dando dolor de mandíbula a través de masticar, de hecho ni siquiera pude terminar mi comida. Nos ofrecieron café gratis y luego se le dijeron que la máquina estaba rota! No podía beber más alcohol ya que estaba conduciendo y yo no estábamos de humor para refrescos. Nos sha volver aquí de nuevo!

Entró a tener algo de comida para tomar. Luego ordenados algunas bebidas gaseosas algo de comida. Cuando llegó mi marido dijo que su jamón sándwich justt promedio no muy bien y tenía que dejar mi queso ajo pan había un pelo largo incrustado. ! ! Asqueroso nunca volveremos allí para comer me echó de por vida.

Came for tea with the kids, excellent service and food was great. Staff are very friendly and welcoming especially, the landlord Dave Wigglesworth, Dee in the kitchen and Adam Flemming. Look forward to visiting again soon with kids. Keep up the great work.

We come here all the time and we have never had a bad moment.. the staff are always friendly and happy to help with anything.. it has a big clean beer garden at the rear and places to sit and relax. David Wigglesworth is a great guy who will take time to talk to you and always asks if everything is okFood and drinks are great value.. Me and my best friend have been going here on & off for years. The staff were really friendly and the pub and toilets were really clean. Unfortunately the food was just average. Portions small, got wild boar burger it was dry, not very many chips & they were quite soggy. I was expecting home made chips. We ate everything, as we were hungry. Menu reads great but when food arrives it's below what you expected. My friend got the boneless beef, which was tender but didn't taste of much - no seasoning, the veg was frozen, gravy very runny just not really what we were expecting. Also the larger on draft didn't appear to be as cold as a normal pint tried Coors & Estrella & left both.

Visited early evening and it was busy and pretty full,we were told there was a 40 minute wait for food,we ordered a 2 course dinner menu which is good value,they were totally out of nachos which was a bit disappointing,but the food arrived quickly and was nice so would visit again.

We visited yesterday lunchtime for my birthday. There was only 1 member of staff to serve both behind the bar and food. She was run off her feet & would like to point out the issues were not with her. She was trying her best. We waited nearly an hour for our main meal which was burnt, dry and very small portions. They didn't have 2 of the things we wanted to order. Other people were also dissatisfied going on the conversations we overheard.....burnt food, wrong items etc. Staff didn't have time to be pleasant. We have been going there on and off for years but won't be going again while it's under the current management. Very very disappointing.

We went here for my Dad's birthday. The choice of venue was based on it being a convenient location for all the family.There were about 10 of us and we all ordered different food. My wife particularly like sea bass but not today. When it came it looked like it had been microwaved. I have never seen anyone destroy a fish so badly. It looked like a piece of rubber. It was sent back but after surveying other people's dinners she opted not to eat.My fishcakes were tasteless. One person had the wild boar burger -dry. Mum's scampi had been turned into deep fried bullets. Dad's lasagna seemed to have spent too long in the microwave and was a bit on the rubbery side. The noodle dish my sister ordered was a bit crispy around the edges.All in all, no one was a really happy with any of the meals. We won't be coming back.

Fab food, good prices. Hubby loves the Ember Pale Ale too. I had the Chicken and Portobello Mushroom pie and hubby had the steak. Yummy!

Yesterday I visited this horrible pub with 4 adults and 4 kids celebrating my nephews 6th birthday ,kids had fun in the wacky warehouse for an hour despite on of them having an accident ,after kids had finished we sat down for dinner , ordered 3 carverys had to wait 20 mins for that cos had no food out , ordered 4 kids meals only 2 turned up yet we payed for 4 so had to wait another 25 mins for other 2 kids meal ,45 mins for my burger and fries ,by the time food arrived kids were tired but we still ate ,as for deserts we waited same time as food ,during our meal no one came to see if we was OK or to even clear the plates away wen deserts arrived ,in the end I complained about the whole service how poor and rude the staff were they said smaller parties get there food quicker everything was fresh so why shud I complain ,never ever will I set foot in this place again manners cost nothing when running a pub serving food totally disgusted .

Food comes quickly, its hot and value for money. Pub is very clean and tastefully decorated, ample parking and friendly helpful staff. Will come back again as it suits us for our needs!

Sunday Lunch at the Hare and Hounds is well worth a visit. The atmosphere is relaxed; the service polite, friendly and helpful. We 7 people ate four roast beefs, 2 children's chicken Sunday Lunches and one chicken nuggets with chips. This was washed down by a variety of drinks and a bottle of Bigfoot merlot. The children enjoyed the food so did the adults. What's not to like, so why not 5*? There was nothing to complain about but the cost was so reasonable that I wanted to go and ask if they had included everything. This is not cheap and cheerful but reasonable and relaxed but 5* would give the impression that it was perfect which might make customers reading this feel disappointed but it is perfect for A family Sunday lunch. We will go again without hesitation.

The Hare and Hounds is on Toller Lane, Heaton, Bradford – just a couple of minutes away from Bradford Royal Infirmary. And, on Tuesday nights you can find me there… hosting the weekly quiz. I’ve been hosting it since December 2015 and there’s a good number of teams which take part each week, it’s really good fun. After the quiz there’s a chance to win big money on ‘Open the Box’ which is always popular too.But the Hare and Hounds has more to offer. For example, on the last Friday of each month, they have a Soul and Motown Evening which is always popular. The pub has a warm, welcoming feeling – I love the chalk board which details all of the cask ales available… there’s always a good beer on! Good range of wine too – my personal recommendation is the Silverland Malbec, goes down a treat.Food is served all day, with an extensive menu and plenty of seasonal offers too. I ate at the pub at the end of last year with my Mum, brother Phil, Uncle Frank and my children – great service, and the food was spot on. Go and try for yourselves!

This is the first time I have been to this pub with just me and my wife. the last time i was there it was with a group of people and it was all very rushed by us not by the pub. yesterday we went for a quiet meal and after driving round passing several pubs we stopped here. from the start you could feel it was a nice place the staff were very polite and the place was warm and welcoming. We ordered drinks and then looked at the menu. we did not have to wait long for our food and both courses were perfect. we could not fault anything on the day food, staff, drinks all spot on. even the toilets were spotless. we felt really welcome and will definitely go again

Ordered two mains and one teenage meal and all had to be sent back!!! The fish was like the tail end only which had been in the fryer far too long and very small. Mash potato was grey and cold as was the gravy. The 'large' child portion of fish and chips consisted of ONE very small fish bite. Staff didn't seem bothered. Did get replacement meals which were OK but that's about it!!! Toilets were disgusting and the smell from them was horrendous. Definately wouldn't recommend.

Booked staff Xmas lunch for 12 6 weeks earlier - arrived at the restaurant, waited for over an hour and didn't receive our food. They had the order for 6 weeks and even confirmed it as we arrived to the restaurant. Poor. Ruined staff Xmas lunch. Will not be attending again

Just thought we would give it a go - it was a good move. Plenty to choose from - three menus - Christmas - Sunday lunch and main. For about £11-12 - we xhose the three course Sunday lunch. I had prawn cocktail and hubby had mushrooms - really really nice - super fresh prawns! I got roast beef dinner and he had beef and chicken - he got half chicken on his pkate with his beef!!! It sat on a bed of veg - spring cabbage- green beans - parsnips - roast potatoes and two Yorkshire puddings - really lovely - only downside was the beef was slightly tough and we could have done with more gravy. Then we had cheesecake with a tea and a coffee. The downsides were miniscule because everything else was perfect. Our server was fab - but the girl behind the appeared to be having a bad day. Definitely be going again!

We found The Hare and Hounds on trip advisor after searching for a pub in the area we were in , we dont live in bradford. We were a party of 8, for my son in laws birthday. We were welcomed , and a table sorted very quickly, our meals were ordered. We had a range of meals from steak, ultimate burger (highly recommended) , chicken and pork ribs. All were tasty, well presented and came out together. We had arranged for a birthday cake to come out after our meals, which they did. All in all a lovely visit to a place we have never been before. A huge thanks to Dave, Adam, Kate and Jade for making our time so pleasant . We would definitely be back in the future. Thanks again

Good priced drinks served by friendly and accommodating staff, food was very good (duck & waffle) prompt service was served within 15 minutes of ordering.

I came here last week for a quick drink after work. I was quickly told by the man behind the bar that it was burger and drink night. I quickly added a classic burger for only 6.99! I was catered for and food came out fresh and piping hot. Tasted delicious and was incredibly enjoyable. Great atmosphere and a roaring fire to boot. The people behind the bar and in the kitchen are a credit to this industry and I will be coming back again!

We visited Saturday afternoon without a booking and they managed to squeeze 13 of us in. We sat in the conservatory style bit which could do with some blinds as when sunny you get a bit of glare and can get a bit warm, but other than that was fine.We weren't sure what to expect as it had been many, many years since we had visited but were all pleasantly surprised. There was a decent choice of starters and mains which were well presented and very tasty, and the desserts were equally as nice.Good job!

Been afew times over last month,always on a Saturday couldn't fault it,went sunday 30th October different story alltogether,I ordered gammon pineapple with salad instead of chips been diabetic I have to watch what I eat,bar staff brilliant,meal came seved by a lady cook from kitchen plonked it down on table and walked away,the pineapple couldn't cut was rock hard,they serve fresh pineapple slices not tinned,this was the core of the pineapple shouldn't have been served,told the young man behind bar think he was duty manager,was very apologetic and sent out the same lady who said I'll do it again,came back out was exactly the same,told manager who said we could have free dessert etc,no thank you if main anything to go by,the gammon was tough and back and forth to kitchen was freezing and salad old and limp,husband chicken over cooked and hard,the young duty manager was realy good,chris I think his name was,as for food and very rude kitchen staff won't be back,yes I understand they had trainees as we were told,but at the end of the day we are paying for meals they are not free,I'll advise my friends not to go either.so lost quite alot of custom.totally disgusted.

Called in here with friends and it was quiet but very welcoming.Excellent service, you have to goto the bar to order but the service was quick and the food was very good and reasonably priced

Arrived for drinks an ha a table booked for 6.Very welcoming and staff were excellent. Food was good, some choices excellent, others average. The pasta with portabelo mushrooms and cheese a little dry. The mixed grill was very good as was the steak and ale pie. Interesting notice in the gents toilet to say that images may be passed on to the police.

Went here on a whim, wish I hadn't. Had a mushroom starter it was okay but rather small. The main course was a fair sized portion but overcooked and not food that I could recommend at all. Will not be returning.I cannot recommend this pub for anything but drinks.

This is probably the best pub food I have had in a long time!! The staff was really nice and always around checking up on us to see if we where ok, it's the first time I have been here and am defiantly coming back, I even signed up to trip advisor to wright a review I very rarely write reviews. I am so very impressed the food was amazing I got a steak and it was cooked to perfection and really good for money. The drinks where also really nice the ales they had on really hoppy and excellent taste and at the perfect temp. Thanks hare and hounds you'll deffo see me again :)

This is my second review for the Hare and Hounds. The first time I gave it 2, which means poor, since then there have been significant improvements. I would like to give it 3.75, I don't think it has quite reached 4,but I think it is getting there. It is clear they are making a big effort, so a 4 it is. There has been a big improvement in the food, the fishcakes were tasty and the ribs were tender and the trifle slice was yummy. The staff were polite and obliging, apart from one gentleman who was rather glum, maybe he was just having a bad day. I am glad to say that I am once again looking forward to making more visits to the Hare and Hounds, Well done, keep it up.Kind Regards from a happy customer.

Best pub food I've ever had, steak is delicious. I'm surprised it doesn't get more people in it seems very empty.

This was my first visit to the pub. We came for an early dinner. My sister ordered tomato pasta with vegetables and my mum got the veggie burger. The food was of a decent standard and good value. Couldn't really fault the place.

Popped in for a lazy tea. Lovely pub, clean and tidy with friendly staff. Hubby had steak from the evening set menu and i had the teriyaki chicken followed by the brownies. Very tasty, hubby especially liked the peppercorn sauce. Its surprising its not busier but then thats better for us

Helpful staff, a normal wide ranging menu for this sort of restaurant and somewhere nice to sit!The seats in the sun by the window made the meal. My Mother-in-Law greatly enjoyed a small well cooked steak while I enjoyed a large curry. For families and differing generations it is good to have a variety of sizes to the meals as well a choice of food. The service was prompt. Reasonable prices and good choice. The puddings were tasty too!

We have used the restaurant here on many occasions and have always been satisfied with the food quality, however on a couple of recent visits we felt the food quality had dipped a bit, it's still good but not as good as before

I have dined here before and the food is consistently good and well presented. The five of us had different meals, some having starters, some having dessert. The soup was very tasty and nicely presented. The main meals were all well received. The staff were friendly and most pleasant catering for all our needs.The conservatory is an ideal and comfortable part of the pub to have areal in. Access on the level is so easy for the less able, there is a large level car park and outdoor seating. The toilets were spotless.The menu offers excellent value for money.Well worth a visit.

Had two great visits one Friday evening and again Saturday early evening a great dinner both times. Staff helpful and knowledgeable We both really enjoyed our visit and we will go back again.

A Monday evening with a few friends. Quite wierd as one of my last reviews was the White Cross at Guiseley which is part of the Ember chain. A pleasant evening. Very friendly staff and the place at 6pm was quite busy.20 odd years ago it was a pub of much local use along with the Websters pub in Heaton and the "Turf" now I think the "Park" on Manningham lane. Nowadays the area has changed but it still seems to be surviving quite well....good look guys. We ordered at the bar. A burger, scampi, chicken salad, Hunters chicken and a pasta dish. All arrived nicely together. The chicken salad looked especially lovely. The burger was great. All went down very well. The chef did a great job presenting the dishes. Overall a good offering and pleasant visit. After we'd all eaten we'd only one comment as feedback that was the dishes could have been hotter. With a couple of drinks each it was around £10 a head. Well worth a visit.

I visit this pub regularly on a weekend for some lunch. I think the place must be somewhat overlooked because it never seems overly busy, however, the meals I have had have never disappointed. The place has a friendly welcoming atmosphere and I always leave feeling like I have eaten too much.

The buffet was excellent, I enjoyed thr soul anf motown night. Thanks for making my evening so enjoyable

Our group has dined here before as it is a convenient place to meet and the dining area is very comfortable.The last meal we had near Christmas was very ordinary but today the lunch was much improved. The service was excellent, the staff were friendly and smiling. The whole atmosphere in the pub was welcoming. We had different choices and it all was well cooked, and most satisfying. We have already decided on our next visit.Full marks to Luke and Katy.

I agree with Anne D, no organisation, we booked a specific table for a Birthday meal, when we arrived the table had not been reserved and others were using it. When we brought it to the managers attention he said had been too busy to see to it, we were very disappointed, how much effort does it take to put a reserved card on a table? This was not the first time the Hare and Hounds has let us down in this way. Also, the food is very inconsistent. A couple of weeks ago I ordered a tuna sandwich, it was an excellent sandwich, a few days ago I ordered a tuna sandwich again and it was nothing like the first. The first tuna sandwich was well filled with tuna, mayonnaise, sweetcorn and thinly sliced cucumber, it also had plenty of salad garnish. The second time I ordered a tuna sandwich it had very little tuna, no mayonnaise, no sweetcorn, the cucumber was too thickly cut and the garnish was poor. If you order hot food avoid the fish pie, it is mostly potato and very "wet", I think this may be due to it being reheated in a microwave and not an oven, I ate two forkfuls and left the rest. My bakewell tart would have been nice if it had been reheated in an oven, but that had also been spoiled by microwaving. If Ember Inns are going to rely on reheating so much food in a microwave then perhaps they should alter their menu to have a better outcome. We have found the atmosphere very pleasant during day time visits. However, I found it unsettling seeing children there in the evening. The Hare and Hounds is much more a pub than a restaurant and I don't think it is appropriate to have young children in after a certain hour.The Hare and Hounds was once a good place to go for a meal and to spend time with friends, sad to say this is no longer the case.

Much to my disappointment, the two cask ales I tried were both suffering from that dirty beer line taste, akin to wet leaves/twigs.This is something that should be rectified as soon as possible and I'm surprised that management have not picked up on this!!

Don't answer phone so I called in to book a table for 10 people. Arrived 2 days later for our booking they had no record of it .They had to move other dinner's to other table's so that they could move table's about to fit us in. It took over 1/2 an hour to get seated and then there wasn't enough room on the end of the table to get 3 meals .Only 2 staff serving drinks and serving food . 4 out of 10 main courses were sold out and 3 out of 7 desserts . Most of the food was OK but everything seemed to take forever and 20 minutes for everyone to get the same course is not acceptable.

I was given cold chips and when i asked them for hot chips I was still given the same chips but with some extra warmer ones on top.The burger bun was frozen in the middle as it had been sat on a ice cube for a while.wont be ordering food there again

I wasn't expecting fine cuisine, but I also wasn't expecting to smell of chip fat when I left.The kids play area clean and good for the little one to run around.The table was sticky and the area was generally not very clean, food came quick enough and the standard was poor, over and undercooked, greasy chips and just had that feeling the kitchen didn't care about the food. Won't be back but a little TLC when presenting the food can go a long way.Right off to wash the smell out of our clothes !!!!!

We visited on Boxing Day with a party of 7, we all really enjoyed our meals, the menu is varied and very reasonable. We will be visiting again soon.

A very average meal at the pub. We had to wait for ages as no one had told the kitchen staff we had arrived, despite us previously ordering our meal choices. The starters were nice but the vegetables on the main course were awful. The sweets were the best part of our meal but when we came to ordering coffees we were told the machine had been turned off, it was only 9pm, so we couldn't have any!

Had a great Christmas Meal this evening with 5 other friends had a great night food was good all three courses many thanks for great food and a great atmosphere see you next year :)

This 3 (or 2 ) course Christmas meal was very good, given the relatively small amount charged and the limitations that this would have placed on the chef to keep within budget.The portions were reasonable rather than generous, but the taste very good. To be picky, the presentation of the battered mushroom starter was unimaginative, they were just plonked into a bowl without any attemt to enhance their appearance.Without exception the staff were friendly and seemed genuinely interested that we enjoyed our meal. Overall I would definitely recommend the H&H Christmas meal experience.

Had Christmas meal on 16 December, there was 10 in our party. The service, meal and price were all absolutely 5*. Can honestly say Katie and team looked after us to perfection. The 3 course festive meal at £12.49 is a bargain. Not one of us had a complaint and will certainly be going again.thank you for making it such a great evening for us. BRI

I went in a group of four, the staff were very chatty. The meals were excellent. My friends enjoyed the food. We had a three course meal. The starters were enjoyable and piping hot. Thevtime between courses was excellent. We had a coffee after that was brought with smarties which was a lovely touch.

My friend and I have been coming here at least once a month for Sunday lunch for a couple of years now. The trick is to go early doors and then you get very good service. Because the place seems always to be understaffed (not the staff's fault) once it becomes busy there are inevitable delays. I also enjoy the food and there is a varied menu, including vegetarian. Any rare problem is always dealt with and we are made to feel welcome. the Ladies loo is fine (never seen it otherwise, but there again, I go as soon as the place opens for the day). I have been for evening meals a few times and the food has always been good. I like the way you can open a tab at the beginning and then settle up at the end. The regular staff are cheery and pleasant. There is a nice grassy area with benches and tables at the back for hot days. Standard pub fare, reasonable prices and nice surroundings. Would recommend. PS - great coffee.

We booked a table for 10 at a lunchtime during the week and although it was a big table I thought the wait of over 1hour was not acceptable, after the meal arrived bits of the meals was burnt ( I did not complain due to the fact I was starving ) when we finished the mains we ordered dessert and hot chocolate the desserts arrived after 15 mins but the hot chocolate took over 30mins to come and when it did it was horrible so it was not drunk. The staff was rude and rushed off there feet I understand you have busy periods but surely staffing levels should account for this.

Had lasagne last night which was lovely so can't understand the negative reviews. It's a pub not a restaurant and you get what you pay for. If you want really bad food try the Sun in Cottingley you will have plenty to complain about then.

Absolutely appalling ! Reserved a table for 7 when arrived they hadn't booked it , set it or know where we were sitting . The food was freezing , burger missing onion rings . American platter missing pulled pork . Fish only cooked down one side . Kids nuggets cooked beyond recognision more like rocks !!
