Toby Carvery in Telford and Wrekin

Fantastic breakfast as usual, was served by Hayley who went above and beyond reserving our table, 1st class service again.

Felt welcome as soon as we walked in.Hayley and the rest of the team provided first class service.The carvery meal was fresh ,hot and delicious. We are returning soon.

Went this evening and chose a starter and carvery.First of all we were approached by a member of staff and giuded to our table.were were iffered table servuce for our drinks which was nice . We chose cheesy mushrooms which was quite nice for a starter. Then we approached the carvery which looked absolutely amazing and steaming hot . We chose the regular carvery and had pork turkey gammon also beef for our meats . Then we carried on to help our selves to the massive variety of vegetables Roast potatoes Creamy mash Fresh carrots Cabbage Cauliflower cheese . The list goes on. A selection of sauces for every meat and gravy to die for not forgetting enormous yorkshire puddings So i just want to say that the food was absolutely yummy . Thankyou to the two young chefs behind the carvery that ooze charisma a great smile goes a long way .also thankyou to the very accomadating and pleasant bar staff and waiting on staff

My Fiancé and I popped in last Tuesday, we hadn’t booked but that wasn’t an issue and we were welcomed by the lovely Cassie who showed us to our table. We went for the carvery and glad we did. Kieran was our carver and he was brilliant. ALL of the food was plentiful, hot and fresh, my Fiancé, who loves roast potatoes said they were the best!!! This is our 5th lunchtime carvery since moving to the area and each time we have thoroughly enjoyed our experience. A big “Thank You” to all the staff, Cassie, Daisy, Paul, Amber, Kieran and Chelsea the excellent chef. See you again soon 😊😊

Staying at the Travelodge near this carvery. Excellent service, excellent staff, so accommodating and helpful. Food was well presented and tasty.

Fantastic Lunch, I normally visit with family- this visit was for a work meeting. Paul helped us find a good quiet spot. service was outstanding… the Staff always go beyond to may you feel welcome. Thank you, I will be visiting again soon! 😊

Booked a table for a lunch time carvery. We were seated quickly and courteously and only waited a few minutes for our drinks order to be taken. Carvery was plentiful and well cooked and the whole meal was great value for money

Visited here 5 years ago for breakfast for a few mornings while staying at the Travel Lodge next door. Everything was fine. Food breakfast super. Last week visited the Toby Inn again and noticed the breakfast was not as good as the previous visit. It was not very warm sausages not great. No scrambled egg had to ask for it. There is wooden fence outside the property which is a total DISGRACE. It could do with rubbing down and a good lick of paint. God knows what the management are thinking of. Why on earth they dont sort it heaven only knows. Its not fair on the Travel Lodge next. I dont think the Toby Inn hierarchy would be impressed if they saw it. Hmmmm. Wont be visiting again. Will find somewhere else for breakfast next visit.

Visited for breakfast early Sunday morning with my partner. We have previously had both positive and negative experiences here. Today was ok. Girl behind the bar appeared to be on her own and was pleasant enough. Food was ok but luke warm. Had to wait a while for yorkshires but they did arrive. Coffee was replenished only after request. My experience was just ok. It wasn't made better by the extremely loud lady announcing to the restaurant about her baby's crappy nappy and how bad it was in detail. This I understand is uncontrollable and just unlucky to be sat by such uncouth people.

We went for breakfast as a weekend treat. Restaurant was a third full. Not overly busy. The Self service buffet was a mass of empty bowls and plates. No beans, no yorkshires (yes I know not really a breakfast staple, but part of their offer), no black pudding, no pancakes. Toaster was broken. Bread (defrosted) was still in the packets and you had to fish it out of the bag yourself (brown bread only). Veggie offer was sausages, nothing else and you had to ask in advance if you wanted them. When they turned up the were dry and hard. Oh, and no coffee, only tea. Empty spot where the coffee pots were supposed to go. It was a completely loveless experience and we will not be back.

I’ve never eaten at a Toby Cavery where the food is anything other than piping hot, tasty and well cooked … until today. Ordered soup and a ciabatta roll as starter which came as soup and two rounds of white sliced bread with the soup bowl on top (squashing the bread), never saw the server again! Main very disappointing, everything was pretty tasteless, and tepid, the cauliflower was cooked in places but not others and cold. Torn and worn leather on bench seating is disgusting, staying at neighbouring hotel and had been intending to have breakfast here and eat here tomorrow, won’t be doing either now! This place gives the Toby brand a bad name, a good manager should have sorted service and food issues

Amazing carvery with amazing staff, Amber has been my server a couple of times, she is super pleasant and helpful, she is a credit to the business, service is key and being welcomed and recognised like a friend is a skill you can't teach, she is a natural customer service champion . Food is really good, the business had some bad reviews recently but it seems they have taken this on board and come back better than ever

came here as quick and easy - was empty meat was all dry so had just the beef veg looked sad but picked through and had what could wife ordered the veggie option took forever to cook so in end she had the veg and sat down and they said they would bring over when ready. so she's eating dinner and they bring it over she pop on her plate and cuts open and its fish. so now its ruined her dinner as was on her plate. she took back to bar they apologised and said to go back up but by this time she just lost trust so doesn't eat.

Used to be a nice place for a Carvery. Oh how it has changed. Service was good don’t get me wrong but the food was atrocious. We went at about 2pm so not late in the day and the food was dryer than the Sahara desert. Beef tasted like water and the turkey was like chewing on Cardboard. The stuffing was rock hard all the way through and was actually painful to swallow. The gravy was bland and had the consistency of porridge. Also may I add most of the joints of meat were nearly gone and the place was dead (it was also a Monday) so there is no way that meat was made that day. Also later that day both me and my friend I went with had bad stomachs. Will NOT be returning.

Ordered a takeaway Sunday lunch for my elderly parents. So disappointed, expected it to be packed up ready but no, I had to dish it up myself! Took our 2 children for breakfast with Santa and it was so lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful couldn't do enough for you. Really enjoyed breakfast was really nice. After breakfast was finished the elf lady came around to invite us up to see Santa, which was such a lovely experience. They took there time with the children asking them loads of questions, wasn't rushed at all which you find at most Santa's grotto. Both Santa and the elf lady really lovely and great with the kids! So happy the kids got to see Santa this year with everything going on, thank you for making it a special experience and getting us back into the Christmas spirit

The experience started off on the right foot, Sarah greeted us with a smise (smile with her eyes) as she and all the staff were complying with government guidelines and wearing face coverings, Sarah showed us to our table and explained the ordering process, she made us feel instantly welcome! Then the rest of the meal was lead by Lisa who's manner, recommendations, and friendly banter was greatly received! Our meal was first class, great portion, hot and above all - tasty! our only gripe was we didn't leave room for dessert, however this means we'll just have to come back! Thank you for making us forget about the troubles of the world for a few hours! See you soon.

Great Service and Fantastic Food! Loved my visit; was greeted warmly and taken to my table quickly. We were advised of all the changes in line with Covid within the restaurant and immediately asked if we would like drinks. We were given a list of food options to select from which was taken from us and given to the chef on the deck, our food came to the table. Staff were friendly throughout the visit.

A fantastic meal, we had lunch, paul was the Carver and we had plenty to choose from! Even though paul was serving we were able to ask for as much and as little as we wanted. It was delicious, proper crispy roasties! From the start we were made to feel relaxed and sarah gave us a low down of the new rules. Given the circumstances and how things have changed, it was no trouble for any of the staff to accommodate us. Sarah was a very friendly and professional host. We'll definitely be seeing you again soon!

As soon as we stepped foot in the building we were greeted by a rude lady, which we found out was called Lisa (from the unprofessional bellowing across the restaurant between staff) who we are led to believe is the manager. As uni students (all in the same house) we had booked 2 tables of 6 (to adhere to COVID-19 rules) and did not expect to receive a hostile attitude and telling off before we’d even sat down: we also arrived separately. We were told we were seated at opposite ends of the restaurant, so as not to speak or be near to each other (as we weren’t trusted), which wasn’t our intentions anyway! Awful experience, a shame really considering the food was actually quite nice. Attitudes of the manager were shocking so we will not be returning.

looking forward to my roast all day. Haven't had one since I got back from Afghan. Upon arrival , we were greeted, greeted is generous, by a women who was very rude and clearly had something going on at home. She was nothing but patronising and all I wanted to do is have a nice meal with my mates. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Telford town centre is a 10 minute drive away, with plenty of other shops with happier employees who work there that don't seem like they have a huge problem with anyone. Like greggs or even Costa. Absolute RUBBISH

Used to be one of my favourite places to eat, they haven’t managed to work the table service very well. When taking our order we were told we could ask for more of certain things if there wasn’t enough on our plate, so we did only to be told we had to wait and only came back to ask what we wanted extra after we had finished, by then it was too late! Also had to ask for a drink 4 times, seemed as though they did not have enough staff.Didn't leave full like we normally do, won’t be going back until it’s back to normal whole experience was very stressful!

Stop in for a carvery was met by a rude lady who I later find out is the manager, we hadn't booked and this appeared to be an issue also she seemed very angry when filling out the track and trace for us. She was rude to other staff in front of us, overall awful service for the Manager! The other staff appeared to be friendly and helpful, we got the menu and were told one thing then someone else came to take our order and got told something different. Food was average, not very warm and had next to no meat for a carvery, presentation was awful on the plate!... thrown together comes to mind! Weren't asked once if our meal was okay even when we paid the bill no one bothered to check how everything was. Very dissapointing meal would not recommend.
