Really nice sushi, reasonably priced. Perfect for lunch, will be back again!

I was reluctant to give this review for the fear of making this little sushi spot more popular, and then I'd have to line up longer at lunchtime for my takeaways 🍣 😅 the charashi bowl is superb, the nigiri sushi selection bountiful and the unagi don delicious. Pop down for the best value for money sushi in Central London. Just don't tell anyone.

.. at least way better than in all chains, including the restaurants. True pleasure and very reasonable price. Love this place for many years. And people working there are very nice is kind. Great for lunch or for anything else really (but they run out of suchi sets at closure, so better not to come at the last minute)

For the location, price point and quality of the sushi I have no complaints at all. Way better than the chained sushi restaurants. I also like that their sushi options are not highly ‘westernised’ (like, unnecessarily adding mayo or teriyaki sauce to everything) so it feels more authentic. My favourite items are ikuna (salmon roe) gunkan, tuna gunkan and hamachi (yellowtail) nigiri. The shop also offers 10% discount for online orders, not to mention you can skip the queue.

Needed to get lunch quickly and saw this place. I ordered the chicken donburi. The chicken tasted revolting and vile. The rice and sauce was okay. The portion was almost small and not worth the price. AVOID HERE AT ALL COST

A great place to grab sushi, rice and udon on the go

This is a great place to grab some sushi. you're able to buy per roll here and do a mix and match of whatever you want. Sea bass Nigiri, katsu rolls and pretty much every type of sushi you'd want. Definitely recommend this place. Very reasonably priced too for so central.

I had salmon and tuna rolls for takeaway. The sushi were nice and tasted fresh. There is also hot food to try. The shop was small but well kept

Good sushi with a decent variety of options and friendly staff. A touch pricier than other lunch options, and I'm not 100% sure the ingredients labels on the prepackaged boxes are accurate, but for me neither of those detract from the fact that Tobiko's sushi is nicer than any of the other lunchtime sushi options in the area. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving sushi for lunch.

Lovely little place for lunch, great value and tasty

Small store and very easy to place an order online for a quick takeaway. Good portions for fair price. I got the salmon combo, some egg nigiri, and a spicy tuna hand roll. Soy sauce came in a cute, tiny bottle which actually held a decent amount (I had leftovers), ginger and wasabi came in their own little containers as well. Delicious! Very satisfied!

This place knocks spots off the other sushi places around - and every single time I can’t resist the pick your own sushi section which is a welcome relief from the itsu vibe. The choice is great, they continually update the selection which means everything is super fresh. Yes it’s expensive but it just means it’s not for everyday! They also have loads of £1 off vouchers which is great for repeat visits.

Love the Udon noodle soups - very reasonably priced, large portion, and delicious. There is so much going on in the soups with noodles, veggies, omelette, puffed rice, chili and a sweet sauce. Really recommend.

I often come here to get my lunch and they’re usually really good. Today I tried to order some individual pieces of sushi as they had run out of the usual box I get, but the lady who served me was really mean and impatient when I was trying to ask for what I wanted. I had to get the rest of my lunch somewhere else as I was so put off and upset by how the lady serving was towards me that I couldn’t finish my order :(

Really amazing sushi and made fresh but I can never eat it because it’s always closed when I go there, the hours on google aren’t accurate! I think they close like 1 or 2 hours before they say they do and sometimes don’t even open some days! Ah well...at least they make amazing food!

Small sushi takeaway restaurant which also sells donburri. The salmon and tuna sashimi was excellent and created with great skill. You can choose from a pre made set or choose from a variety of nigiri, ura maki and other sushi rolls. Staff were friendly and happy to provide suggestions.

Decent enough freshly made takeaway sushi, katsu and donburi

They sell some of the freshest and tastiest sushi in London. I love the food, and a trade secret among us everyday regulars........at 4pm everyday, it is 40% off whatever is left on the shelves. My favorites - the executive box, seaweed, and a selection box of rolls.

A small place with outside tables and seating areas. The sushi is freshly made and enjoyable at a reasonable price for the locality. Good to see hygiene standards being upheld by friendly staff.

The best takeaway sushi i've had so far in London. Salmon sushi set, simple and tasty and super fresh. Can't wait to try the other dishes. Served very quickly for lunch.

Almost don't want to rate this because I want to keep it secret. This place is so perfect for a sushi lunch. You select your maki by the piece so you can get what you like. Super fresh sushi. They're making it all day, fresh rolls as certain ones run out. A little pricey but the quality is fantastic.

Fantastic independent gaff. I will never go to Itsu again! Fresh sushi being hand made in front of you. Brilliant value for money, expect to pay half what you would in a restaurant for the same quality.

Best and most affordable sushi in central London. Not only all the staff is Japanese but everything is delicious and made for the day. You can grab a discount after 4 pm which makes it a bargain!

Independant sushi shop where you can see the sushi master in action. Order hot food and soup from the menu on the wall, I recommend the mackerel donburi.

I've been coming to tobiko several times a week for the past 6 months, and was seduced by the relative quality of the food for its price, given that decent sushis are really hard to find in the area. a few months ago, i came back to the shop to ask for an exchange, as some of my salmon sushi were made solely of the brown part of the fish, plus bits of external skin, which is not meant to be served in raw sushis. i couldn't even chew on them. after 10 min of negotiations, they finally accepted to replaced the bad sushi rolls, but the chef was very arrogant and rude about it, saying he's been making sushis for years and i was the one wrong to complain. today i went again and had a salmon don (raw salmon on top a bowl of rice), and realised later that half of the salmon had been fully cooked by the hot rice. i had already ordered this dish dozens of times before, and often the rice was steaming hot, when it's meant to be served at room temperature or cold to avoid cooking the fish. this time the salmon had stayed too long on the rice and was not raw anymore. i went back and asked for a replacement. the girl at the counter offered to refund half of the dish, but i actually wanted to eat and have it replaced. the chef then recognised me from that previous time, told me i was not welcomed there anymore. i said i did want to keep going to tobiko, but he said i couldn't take another step in their shop. he took the bowl of food and threw it away without looking at it and told me to get out. i took another bowl of rice from the shelf and left. it's not acceptable for a restaurant to refuse to replace food that's been screwed up. if i ordered a steak tartare and had a well-done steak instead, i would be sending it back.

Right in the middle of Covent Garden district, a very friendly little sushi bar with hot foods as well. They deliver too.

Sushi is always pricey so if you're going to spend a lot on Sushi spend it wisely - after Wasabi, Tobiko is the place to go. There's no getting away from the fact that Tobiko does decent Sushi: being a small outfit, it knows what it can do and prepares the food fresh for you. It tastes excellent and is very enjoyable. But the flip side is that the cost is high, and it makes for a nice lunch treat rather than an everyday lunch location.

A wonderful Covent Garden haunt for myself and work colleagues now. Fresh, tasty sushi - made to order - at a very reasonable price, in spotless shop, served by friendly and accommodating staff. Brilliant!

Me alojé allí sólo para descansar y fui dentro a sólo a quizás bying agua ... estoy muy contento. Decida comer allí, y la comida era espectacular.

Muchos de los puntos ofrecen la tobiko homónima en ellas, por desgracia esto significaba que mi elección fue reducido porque me odié tener las cosas, pero lo que no era muy bueno. Restaurante estaba muy limpio y muy agradable.

The sushi here is always good and reasonably priced. After 4pm they reduce it all to 40% off. It is always fresh and friendly service. If I am having a pig out day I will go for the Katsu Curry that comes piled high if you get the large one, it is tasty and full of veg as well as chicken, On your lunch break? Do not get sushi from any where else.

I had chicken donburi. The rice was ok, veggies and sauce tasty but chicken was revolting - four skewers of gristly meat that were heated up and still cold in parts. I was unsure whether to eat it for fear of food posioning due to the half-arsed heating up. I don't expect the world for £6.50 but the meat was truly disgusting. My colleague assures me the katsu curry is tasty but my experience was VERY disappointing.

Manned by japanese staff, this sushi place lets you pick up sushi to go (and probably wolf down on the small tables curbside). The (zuwai) snowcrab sushi is the best deal. THe maguro is a higher grade than those served in places like YoSushi or Wasabi. So is the Salmon. The chicken donburi is a good meal too. The japanese rice they use is of a good grade unlike in similarly priced shops. Will come again and again.

Tobiko offers a range of rolls and nigiri sushi, as well as a couple of hot dishes. The hot dishes are OK, but the sushi is pretty much the best take-away (they only have two or three tables out side, none inside) lunch (they close at 6PM, and aren't open on weekends) sushi you're going to get in central London, and at a decent price at that.

The sushi here tastes great, given its very fair price. Decor and seating is moderate as seats and tables are only provided outside. During the happy hour (4-6pm) the prices shift from fair to very cheap, especially for such excellent sushi.

This is for sure the best Sushi un London!

Second visit, the first time was a year ago. I took a friend from South Africa to Covent Garden and we stumbled upon this little gem. I took my wife this time and she too said that was the best sushi she had tasted! friendly family-run sushi bar with a friendly chef.

Much improved. Like the feel. Welcome change from Yo! Busy street. Better to eat inside. Fair prices. Friendly staff and efficient service.

Reasonably cheap but just okay sushi. I much prefer Hazuki just around the corner.
