Great food and service. Chef and waitress were outstanding!

Pretty small location, staff were friendly but a little frazzled. The ramen was delicious, albeit a bit too salty (and I tend to over salt my food)

About the place? Ippudo is a small ramen chain in london, its been on my list of places to try, but didn’t realise that there was one near the Embankment, so had to try it on a cold winters day. What I ordered? Akamaru Tamago, Karaka Tamago, Crispy Gyoza, Pork Belly Chashu Buns and Ippudo Kara-Age. How was it? Food was delicious, service was quick and staff friendly and very professional. What I liked? Karaka Tamago, warm and spicy, was my favourite. What didn’t I like? There was nothing not to like, everything was expected. Would I go back? Yes, I love ramen and will possibly try one of the other branches next, this is local to my work place, I’m more than likely going to come here when I am craving a piping hot bowl of ramen. On to the rating? Okay, my rule of thumb is to give a maximum of 4 stars on my first visit, as a five-star rating is mainly for consistency. Food was amazing! The only bad point was that I felt that my group was hurried out of the shop before we had finished.

I came here on a Thursday afternoon. The food overall was pretty good, but the service overall was slow and incorrect. I had the vegetable gyozas and pork don buri. My table had multiple incorrect orders of ramen and my don buri only arrived after I had to ask where it was. It arrived after my party had finished all their food. I also had to ask twice for water.

We had a fantastic experience being served by Bishwas who was taking great care of us - very thoughtful and patient with our family including 2 babies. Thank you!

The ramen is good but nothing more. A little expensive for the quantity and quality.

Upon arrival we were told to wait outside in the cold for 10 minutes. When they finally lead us inside for a table (although there were two servers continuously standing still doing nothing) we were left to wait from 30-50 minutes without anyone taking our order, even when we tried to signal them. They then proceeded to let two more customers in and took their order immediately. Terrible service. We left to get food somewhere else.

Well all I can say it i was dissapointed we had two different rahmens which both were flavourless, the roastes green tea tasted like fish and the service from our female waiter was very grim, she made us feel very unwelcomed. The boa buns were nice but over all we will not be going back. Go somewhere else.

I traveled to the UK for almost a month and tried two ramen restaurants, but neither one was as authentic as this one! The portions of noodles are generous, and the soup is thick, strong and fragrant, which is a great relief from homesickness.

Had a great dining experience here! Special thanks to chef Bishwas for the delicious ramen—it really stood out. The service was attentive, and the selection of Japanese sake was a nice touch. Would definitely recommend!

Good food and good service are a recipe for success. Arigato gozaimashita to waiter Bishwas :) A friend invited me to go to this restaurant that is part of a chain here in London. I didn't know it, but she said the food was very good and the atmosphere was nice. She had never been to this particular location (Embankment), but since it was part of the same chain, she assumed it would have the same design. When we got there, we were a little shocked by the simple and not too cozy interior compared to the others in the same chain, however, from the moment we opened the door, we were greeted by the waiter Bishwas with great friendliness and availability, so we decided to stay there. During the whole time we were there, Bishwas was super attentive, not only to us, but also to everyone he served. The food was delicious and the evening became even better with the waiter's hospitality and friendliness. It will definitely be a place to go back to.

A great Ramen close to the tube in London. The broth was perfect. Not too salty. Pork melted in your mouth. Brilliant. Friendly staff just don't forget to ask which noodle firmness we want next time ;)

Excellent ramen. Rich and tasty broth with perfectly cooked noodles (you can decide the firmness). The spicy ramen was just the right amount of spicy and taste. Fast service and there’s always a chair free at the bar if you want a quick bite.

I liked the savory pork flavor from the ramen broth. However, I was expecting ramen with noodles soaked in broth, but that wasn't the case. We play a little separately. But the chashu and eggs are delicious, and overall it's an okay ramen :) The curry is delicious with the sweetness of the onions and the chewy rice, but the toppings are poor and it doesn't come with any side dishes such as pickled radish or kimchi, so if you don't order it, you'll end up biting. I liked that the staff were friendly.

Visitó el lugar de ramen Ippudo cerca de Embankment para comer algo. Qué decepción. Pedí el ramen clásico Shiromaru. El PEOR ramen que he probado. Las instalaciones del baño también eran repugnantes, apestaba a orina y papel higiénico por todo el piso. He visitado un montón de auténticos lugares de cocina japonesa a mitad de precio, con comida abundante y deliciosa, no este lugar! Un fideo de olla sabe mejor que aquí.

Easily the best chicken I've ever had. I'm still thinking about how tender it was! The service was fantastic and fast, and it was great to be able to watch the chef at work. Highly recommend this place, from starters to mains it was perfect. Hats off to the staff, I will definitely be returning here!

The food and drinks were excellent, the waiters/waitresses very lovely, caring and the vibe of the place is good. The only downside is the small space, but nevertheless everything was magnificent.

Simply the best Ramen tonkotsu I had in London.

Good ramen exquisite Fried octopus balls (Age-Tako Yakil). We had to queue for 10ish minutes.

I was here this evening hoping to get a bowl of ramen. Upon entering the restaurant, I was asked to wait outside for 5 mins as they were full (I could clearly see seats beside two other customers). Once I waited outside, 2 other customers tried to enter and was asked to wait outside as well. The waiter then came out a few seconds later and brought those 2 customers in leaving me outside even though I was there first. Very disappointing and poor customer service.

Cozy and warm Ippudo, serving authentic Japanese ramen in a bustling street of Strand. Walked by it multiple times without noticing so imagine my shock when I found it. Tried the spicy veggie ramen with onsen eggs, paired with crispy veggie gyozas and peach iced drink. I never finished something so fast and the taste was amazing. Went there again and tried the same dish with tofu and rice. Will be back soon 😊

Some of the best ramen I’ve ever had. I love the noodles they use with their ramen, as the texture is firm, which I think is perfect for ramen. I ordered the Shiromaru Special.

Possibly the most authentic and best ramen place in London, at a price to match

We really love the ramen in ippudo. Went here on a Saturday afternoon and we were seated right away. Service and food both are amazing.

Tonkotsu Ramen was average or below . It was more on the watery side rather than reach and creamy. Gyoza was OK but was lacking the sour sauce, instead it was served with Mayonnaise. Recommend to try other Ippudo shops in London .

Had a perfect bowl of ramen for a reasonable price

Small restaurant in the center of London, near Trafalgar Square. Delicious tori-shoyu ramen; the crispy shrimp and pork baos are very delicious; and crispy and tasty gyozas. The Japanese beer we drank was surprisingly delicious.

The broth, the flavour, the noodles are great and on point. It tastes just like how it is in Japan, maybe a bit milder but acceptable since Japanese ramen is actually very salty. The portion is really small. I guess it's just London. The staff should tell the customers with bags there are hooks underneath the bar table. The glass was dirty and cloudy, hence four stars.

If you wanna feel like to traveled to Japan, you’ve come to the right place.

Wow, vegan ramen was unreal, so many flavours. Iced green tea and boa buns were 10/10 as well. Lovely staff and freshly made food in central London is hard to find. Highly recommend :)

The food is below average. It’s my first time to see the egg to be this well-done in a Japanese restaurant. The matcha brownie can tastes the smell of fridge. Quite disappointed. Ramen is ok.

Nice food. They forgot to put egg in my soup and brought it later. Served the wrong tea but it was also a good tea, so I didnt say anything. The tea pot looks beautiful but I dont feel save to use it.

An Underwhelming Experience – Don’t Be Fooled by the Positive Reviews! I’m not one to usually leave negative reviews, but this experience was truly disappointing. Despite the positive reviews, our visit was anything but enjoyable. Upon arrival, we were made to wait for 30 minutes, only to discover that there were several empty seats available at the back. Once seated next to a fridge, we endured a further 45-minute wait for our dishes, which arrived separately. The only positive note was our server, who was polite and tried to accommodate our request to substitute pork for chicken. However, this reasonable request was inexplicably refused by the chef. When the food finally arrived, it was nothing more than average in taste. Given the wait and the overall experience, it was certainly not worth the money. I would advise reconsidering dining here – there are far better options available.

I’ve had plenty of ramen from NY. This is by far the best ramen I’ve ever had. Not too greasy or salty but a deep, rich, perfect flavor. Get the shiromaru ramen.

- spicy goma q £5 - karaka-men £15 - akamaru modern £18.50 although ippudo is quite popular with a few branches across the city and also worldwide, it was overall underwhelming. firstly, i feel like an egg should come with all ramens bc that’s one of the best parts but here they charge extra even though their ramens are already quite pricey alone and only come with noodles, fungus and meat🥲 BUT i am also here to assess the flavour and taste… i did like the cha shu pork which was very tender and had the perfect fat:meat ratio - i just needed more of it! the karaka-men also comes with spicy mince pork but there also wasn’t a lot of it and i didn’t taste spice at all. there was also chilli oil added but i felt like this made the already-heavy tonkotsu broth way too greasy. the cucumber helped balance out this out but this was nothing special either so i would not reorder it…

Best Japanese ramen noodles I've ever had. The karake-men is soooo good, perfect spice levels and such a rich miso broth. It got my nose running because I couldn't stop eating. My friends got some gyoza and they said it tasted very good! But definitely such a great place to eat and an affordable price ❤️😸😸

Clean, elegant, professional, and an experience I will never forget. They made made some of the best food I've ever eaten in my 7 years in England. The karaka bowl is to die for, the atmosphere is very welcoming and comfy, and the staff are very nice. I will definitely be coming back in the future, and I implore anyone reading this to please pay them a visit if you're in the area.

Very good vegetarian ramen, and very good crispy vegetable gyozas too! It is a chain that we discovered in Japan and we were very excited to see that there is also Ippudo's in London! It has nothing to envy to the locals in Japan :) the only thing is, the tables are very close together, there are a lot of people and without any windows... the atmosphere that is created is a bit oppressive.

One of the best Ramen restaurants in London that I have ever been to. The ramen and the Age Tako Yaki was so delicious, we ordered the “firm” ramen and we think that was just right and we were glad we didn’t order “soft” ramen. Waitress was very polite and attentive, it’s a very nice place to have a quick lunch.

The excellent service, my daughter spilled water and also ramen, the servers were very helpful. The ramens are great. You can picked how to cook your noodle, we picked firm. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The ramen is rich and flavorful, with perfectly cooked noodles and generous portions of toppings. If you're a fan of Ippudo, you'll be very happy here. If you've never tried Ippudo before, this is a great place to start. I highly recommend it!

We had the crispy gyoza and karaage as starters, followed by the karaka tamago and the veggie ramen. The starters were outstanding. The karaka ramen tasted very similar to the ippudo in Australia, with a few subtle differences. The veggie ramen was quite different. Both were excellent.

Friendly owner, clean place. The ramen is delicious, but it would be better if the seasoning was a little less salty.

Easily one of the most underrated places to eat in Central London. Food is delicious and authentic, service is great and friendly. If you’re getting over pub bites and curry, this is absolutely the call.

Expensive and not worth the price

I have been here twice now and loved it! Fantastic broth and flavours in the ramen (and great plum wine), I always recommend Ippudo as one of my favourite places in London to get ramen. Thank you!

Veggie ramen, donburi chicken (i forgot the name), gyoza, houjica tea, and mochi cost me £45. All great! Especially love the mochi!!

The ramen is tasty here. It can get busy at lunchtimes and you may need to queue so it's worth getting there early. The spicy ramen is delicious!

The best ramen I found in London so far. Walking down embankment direct somewhere else and them window called my attention. The menù is small, that for me means good food. There are basically 3 main dishes that can be slightly changed, adding egg or extra top. Had the pork with egg (shiromaru tamago) with firm noodle. It doesn't look spectacular in the photo due to a plain color, indeed is that tasty that I haven't left a single drop of broth. Won't suggest the special, it is basically the normal dish with the extra on the side; If i am that hungry, I will order another dish

Place isn’t the cleanest considering it’s a food place. Very cramped too. Food was meh at best. But the worst thing is the server who took away my coffee cup from starbucks because he said they didn’t allow it. Why? I don’t know because they are not a competing brand with Starbucks so I was so perplexed. He was rude to my companion as well, taking his card away to put it in the card machine. Really disappointed with the interaction.

Best ramen in London. I’m a vegetarian and I loved the spicy veggie ramen. It’s hard to find a good veggie broth but this place nailed it. We’ll be coming back here.

Never disappoints, nutty , rich broth , juicy pork, perfect noodles and super tasty Kara age sticks! Service on point , super fast and extremely nice Even if there’s no reservation we didn’t wait too long outside , which is right next to the station so super easy to go to , you got Covent garden next door so very nice area

Expect a little bit of waiting as this is a small restaurant. I know Ippudo from their Paris restaurant and it was also lovely in London. Although a tiny bit less cosy !

Easily one of the best veggie ramen I have had (the spicy one)

Aside from the very warm ramen that you will indulge, staff are also very warm in welcoming you. Be it elderly, family with toddler/infant, name it. They go extra mile with their food service. There are many seats/tables at the back, so don’t be discouraged if you see the seats in front are almost taken.

A great ramen experience if you eat the bar. They recommend ordering extra noodles, if so desired, when you’re halfway through the bowl. Eating at the bar means that I got my extra noodles in fifteen seconds! The broth is tasty, noodles were sufficiently firm textured, without being too rich or heavy. It’s also a great way to see the chef in action which adds to the whole experience. The cost was pretty standard for a London meal. The bowls are kept in hot water right up to plating and serving which has allowed the broth to stay at a good temperature throughout the meal, even with extra noodles. Excellent work, team.

Delicious food and great service. The open kitchen at the entrance gives such traditional vibes. Don't have any pictures of my ramen (Tonkotsu with an egg) cuz I ate it and didn't stop to take pictures. The takoyaki were spectacular 👌

Excellent ramen. A different universe to Wagamama which is what I was used to. Recommend firm noodles which is what they recommend. Delicious. Place is small so space limited. Sometimes queueing outside, lots of Japanese (v good sign). Not worth waiting more than 15 minutes though - it’s just ramen, but they are very good quality.

Loved every bit of my meal; Passionate food. Gyoza were crispy and full of flavour; Spicy chicken was well balanced with red ginger and sauces.

Some of the best ramen we've ever had. I had the Karaka-men and my husband had the Veggie Ramen. You get to choose your noodle firmness too. Definitely go, you will not regret it!!

If you going in a busy hours in winter you will be rudely sent to wait outside in a cold weather personally by the ramen chief and ignored with the restaurant staff as well. Very lovely attitude from Ippudo chain <3

Absolutely loved the food, the ramen were as good as they are in Japan. They also have japanese beers like Asahi and Sapporo here, which I personally really love. All in all great restaurant :)

Vraiment très déçus de l’expérience. Nous venons de Paris et connaissons très bien cette chaîne. Les ramens sont déjà meilleurs chez nous mais ce qui nous a le plus choqué c’est l’amabilité des serveurs. Est-ce normal à Londres que ce soit aux clients de voir les places libres et de demander si ils peuvent y manger ? Sans rire, il y a avait trois places libres et c’est au bout de 15 minutes que quelqu’un est rentré pour demander si les places étaient disponible. En plus de ça, c’est plutôt cher.

Service was a little lacking and slow from getting sat down to receiving the check. Ramen was normal tasting but very oily. Both eggs were too well done. Pork was tasty but only 2 small slices. Enough just to get that craving but nothing special.
