Sadly, every time we have been the servers have been rude - refused to let a woman on crutches take a seat while she waited, are not attentive and get annoyed if you get something yourself! However the food is good and the price is reasonable.

A spacious and warm place, where the decor reflects their passion for creating an excellent café experience.

Fab breakfast! Perhaps a fraction expensive but its the new world now and everything's expensive but their close to the center of town and with free parking on the street and it was really really tasty, will defo go again!!

What a gem, visiting my home town after many years and found Toast on our way back picking up the car. Lovely fresh, high quality ingredients. If you placed Toast in the middle of Kensington, it would be a fantastic success. Well worth a 10 minute walk from the city centre for outstanding food and service 👌

A Sunday morning treat, bacon and maple syrup pancakes. Between the three of us we had the gourmet breakfast, a breakfast wrap, and drinks. Lovely food and staff and the place has a charming atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit and dog friendly.

The pancakes were brilliant 😍 will be revisiting!

Came on a Friday for brunch and heard very good things, when we arrived tho the service wasn't very friendly and didn't feel overly welcome, more of an inconvenience that we'd come in since it was empty, food was average, didn't live up to the expectations.

Lovely spot for breakfast located a short walk from the city centre The English breakfast was superb. Service is top notch and the ambience of the place was lovely. Get there early at the weekend as no table reservations. Will be back to try the pancakes.

Our breakfast was fabulous. We ordered a vegan gourmet breakfast and a smoked salmon meal. Both contained a wide range of ingredients and the quality was outstanding. Tap water was served with ice cubes and lemon. Staff were speedy and accomodating. You can also buy hand-crafted soaps that support the local economy in Nottingham. What a noble mission! It was a no brainer for and we purchased a palmarosa-sandalwood-hibiscus soap. We will certainly return here in future!

Delicious vegan breakfast options, good coffee, cosy atmosphere and the staff are always so friendly. Live locally and love popping in regularly!

We first found Toast when we were house hunting in Nottingham and have since made it our weekly breakfast spot. The service is always excellent, lovely friendly staff in a lovely cosy spot on the main road. You can't really get much better for the quality of the food and the atmosphere. We take all our family and friends whenever they visit.

Walked in to a strong greasy spoon cafe smell of cooking fat. Ordered a wrap and toast that took 32 minutes because "another table ordered before you". £25 for a breakfast wrap, avocado on sourdough, pot of tea and iced latte. No apology, disingenuous staff. Highly unrecommended.....

Don’t go here if you want some breakfast, a coffee is ideal from here if you can’t be bothered to walk to somewhere decent, the bread was like biting into a rock, the tomato’s were microwaved and the eggs were like mushy peas with no flavor. The woman behind the till when we asked for an americano white as we were waiting a customer said she got given normal Milk but she wanted oat milk, the woman said to her colleague, that’s not what she asked for and said to “charge her she didn’t ask for that” then rolled her eyes and shook her head. Terrible customer service, I was made to feel like I had done something wrong when I first went in because I didn’t know what flavor syrup I wanted from the hot chocolate menu but the syrup flavors aren’t on your table they are behind the counter so don’t know what she was expecting. It doesn’t hurt to smile sometimes, if you don’t enjoy your job and hate customer service why not just find a new one. Overall wouldn't come back, very miserable food and place

Fantastic little cafe/deli, staff attentive even when busy. I had a brioche breakfast sandwich/coffee which was great, my partner had the pancakes that were fab.

EXCELLENT breakfast. I had the gourmet breakfast. Bacon was very good as were the eggs. The sausage was out of this world. Who says that but it was. And fantastic toasted sourdough bread. The best breakfast I have had in a long time The only “problem “ there was so much great food that there won’t be room for lunch.

Popped in for a drink and shelter from the rain. It was late on a Saturday morning, the place was rammed! We only managed to get a seat as a woman was leaving. They were keen to clean the table down for us, and they served us promptly. Nice selection of drinks and the menu looked good too (we had a food booking down the road however). Cakes looked nice. Toilets were clean and best of all, they are very dog friendly with treats and water available for the pups.

I was really excited about this place as its always packed out with people looking really happy. The staff are really welcoming and lovely, with lots of attention to detail and prompt service. However, I was expecting something really fantastic when I saw the price tag - and I love a good brekkie. I had the gourmet breakfast, sausage, bacon, fried eggs, hash browns and homemade beans with a slice of sourdough. I think the best part were the hash browns, and sadly I believe they were the frozen kind (which are always peng). Weirdly, the Sausages were incredibly dry and the bacon had a very obscure flavour, two items I was really excited for as they're sourced from a local butcher. Eggs were fab but the homemade beans - absolute disaster! Undercooked with a sort of spiced flavour to them - quite unpleasant. Considering this was £9.75, I think I'd prefer a spoons at £2.50, which is a real shame as the staff are lovely and the atmosphere is pleasant. Fairly disappointed.

Organic café with high quality ingredients. Definitely the best breakfast place around lenton. Suggestions: add fresh orange juice. I got a bottled orange juice from an EU country. Please don't put oil on sourdough and allow the customer to add if needed.

Great cafe, lovely food, fast friendly service and reasonable prices. I had the smoked salmon and it was delicious. The menu includes vegetarian and vegan options and they have a good selection of drinks.

Nice little place with good atmosphere and helpful staff. Drinks and cakes nice. Toilet facilities good. Can park right outside for an hour, just check the parking limits.

This place is amazing a must visit when we go to Nottingham. For one the food is always tasty and amazing utilising high quality local produce which never disappoints. Not only that but the service is second to none we always feel so relaxed and welcome which makes for such a cosy and comfortable environment. There's no place quite like tost! Keep up the good work !!!!!!!

Just amazing food and excellent coffee (with lots of exciting syrups to try - including banana!) This is an independent cafe doing everything right. Lovely friendly staff serving gourmet food and coffee at reasonable prices. Always worth a trip to TOAST.

Pleased to see this cafe still going, when others in the area, such as the Baklava Bistro, Sans Patrie, or Tough Mary's are either closed or operating in a reduced way. I was staying in Canning Circus, so Toast local for me. The food, drinks, and service here are top notch. My choice, with the Warsaw Diner, for breakfast. Much love to Toast. Don't miss it.

What a find! I would totally recommend spending some time in this hidden gem. Delicious coffee and a lovely environment. Brunch ~ Vegan breakfast ~ was very tasty, if a tad small. Could benefit from a couple more items, but was still great. Selling a small amount of additional items - coffee beans, small gifts and specialist teas - is a lovely idea. I will definitely be visiting again.

We were able to park (without paying) opposite. The stone facade sets it off below the other buildings on the street. The coffee is great and we ate.... well just toast (butter & marmalade) ! The bigger portion (there is a smaller option) had 8 enormous slices of tasty bread. It's a very nice independent coffee shop - worth making the trip to.

Food was phenomenal, bacon cooked to perfection. The crazy extensive range of tea choices and great food made for some difficult choices. Would highly recommend

Sour frosty service spoils it, enjoyed the food but felt hated each time we visit so won't be returning. Why run a cafe if you don't enjoy interacting with people?

Unfortunately we only called in for a coffee but the food looked great with vegan options, will definitely call back when in Nottingham.

Really nice cafe and food is lovely

This was genuinely the worst and overpriced fry up i ever had. 9.50 for an incomplete fry up that didn't even come with any beans which had to be charged extra, and they were actually awful. "homemade beans", somethings just don't need to be homemade and they were just a little pot of bland paste. Service was very slow and people that came after us got our breakfast before. Hash browns were soggy and it was just not what anyone would want from a standard fry up you could get for like 5 pounds cheaper. I honestly don't get places that think they can charge extortion prices just because they hang random objects around the room to make it look "niche" and "fancy". Its all just a gimmick to lure your in to a false perception. if your looking for a standard fry up with a normal price, avoid this place, you will be disappointed.

Perfect little shop local coffee shop, good service lovely coffee, sadly didn't have time to try the food, but it looks really good.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! The scrambled egg on toast is like a pile of slop on the toast. Asked for it to be remade which it was but then the waitress gave a dog a bowl of water and then did not wash her hands before serving us the 2nd plate of slop on toast. When the food was sent back the cook shouted "what!" and slammed the pots and pans around the kitchen. If you like your breakfast served with dog slobber and an attitude then go ahead and visit!

Simple but very tasty food from local producers

Woeful customer service and woeful coffee! Upon entering I was greeted with the most filthiest look (first impressions I wasn’t impressed) I ordered an americano to take out and the young lady who served me was very frosty and didn’t seem impress with my order for some reason?! The coffee was hands down one of the worst coffees I’ve ever had in my entire life, I would genuinely say the coffee at McDonald’s Greggs etc are better.. The coffee was steaming hot, so hot that it burnt the coffee beans which made the coffee just taste like boiling water? My hands were dripping with water from the condensation from the steam. Very unimpressed and I won’t be going there again!

My daughter and myself had head so many good things about toast we Really looking forward to it hello wife at 10 o’clock on Sunday I was sat immediately after checking in on the NHS app It’s a nice menu my daughter ordered a mango juice and I a latte Which arrived 3/4 minutes later The latte was excellent as was the Juice Unfortunately breakfast didn’t arrive for 35 minutes it’s wasn’t that Busy with only six other people fair including ourselves more disappointingly the food wasn’t good the bacon was overdone not crispy but over done and the pancakes rubbery I can’t in all honesty recommend this place

This restaurant has a lovely atmosphere giving a very pleasant experience if you wish to visit. I attended at breakfast time and I had gluten-free bread at no extra cost (I notices there were also gluten-free brownies but I did not try one). There is also lots of choice on their breakfast menu which included options for vegetarians, sweet breakfasts and savoury breakfasts as well as the chance to add extra items to your chosen meal. The food was of a high quality and at a good price. We were served by Sharon who was helpful and friendly! I was also impressed by the number of covid-19 measures in place for a small restaurant, there were track and trace QR codes, forms for you to fill out your contact details, hand sanitiser available, staff wearing PPE etc. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for somewhere in Nottingham to go for breakfast especially if you are gluten-free!

Really lovely cute cafe! It’s nice and cosy as it’s a bit small but it’s still lovely. The food was very good & took away a Brookie, was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend!

I said we’d be back and we’re really enjoyed our breakfast again. As I’m attempting a Keto- diet for a few weeks to start with I wasn’t sure, how I would feel about the choices, but I was very happy! I’ll be back!

Found by accident.....a little gem. Service friendly. Only had a flat white and a breakfast Sausage roll but was delicious and I know everything else on the menu would have been just as nice!

As always the food (smashed avocado on sourdough with lovely small tomatoes, and the omelette on Artisan bread ) was delicious. We ended up having a second coffee and the almond croissant as our post breakfast ‘dessert’ !

Nettes kleines Café mit gutem Service. In Stoßzeiten sollte man besser einen Tisch reservieren.Es gibt hier kein typisch englisches Frühstück, aber das gebackene Brot ist ausgesprochen lecker. Als besonderes gibt es auch Lachs und Müsli.

Had breakfast here whilst visiting Nottingham. The staff were really friendly and made me feel very welcome. The food was lovely and very generous portions. At the weekend you can park outside free for a hour. Absolute find.

Aparecí literalmente cuando abrieron las puertas esta mañana, ¡y qué equipo tan encantador eran! !Satisfecho a lo que mis necesidades eran y el desayuno en sí (salmón ahumado y huevo revuelto sobre tostadas) era una porción MUY generosa y deliciosa. Definitivamente volveré a frecuentar este café la próxima vez que pase por Nottingham. Bien merecido 5 estrellas! !

El servicio fue amigable y eficiente. Me encantó el ambiente, los pasteles parecían fantásticos (la próxima vez!) Y el café era excelente.Definitivamente volveremos.

I went to pick my student son up at the end of term and offered to buy him lunch before starting the drive home. He suggested we went to Toast and I'm very glad he did. It is a delightful little cafe and gift shop serving a good range of brunch style food. There aren't many tables but we were lucky enough to get one. It was very busy though, but still felt tranquil. The staff were lovely and the woman who I presumed is the owner was so helpful and friendly. I will definitely be making a return visit when I take my son back to uni.
