Had a nice meal here! Came for brunch with a friend and they were able to substitute out items which was great. Had scrambled eggs on toast with mushrooms and avocado. I didn't find the menu had great variety if I'm totally honest but managed to find something nevertheless!

Food was average but great atmosphere/space for big groups.

This place is amazing, from the gorgeous food, the eclectic decor and the lovely, attentive staff that help to make this an wonderful experience from the moment you enter until the time when you don't want to leave. A must if you're in Altrincham. Definitely a food and people place. Can't wait until we go again. They should sell a recipe book of some of these dishes, especially those great dishes they don't do anymore.

This is a beautiful place to eat, coffee is great. Choice of food is ample, you can also design your food. The staff are absolutely lovely.

Me and my friend both brought our newborns here today for lunch. They immediately helped us through the door with the prams, super helpful on advising which food we should try & honestly the friendliest most genuine guys. We had such a laugh and the food was incredible. Set in such a gorgeous surrounding too. We will absolutely be back & thankyou all again for making our day that bit easier & more enjoyable!

Food was nice but only one vegan option. No option to add veggy sausages which is a shame. Nice place otherwise.

Disappointing attitude of the waiter. He was rude from the start. There is a way of saying things. First he mentioned very rudly how ALL tables are reserved and then he let us sit on a combined table till a specific time and instead of asking politely to move somewhere else or pay the bill he only gave one option to pay the bill and underlying tone been to leave the cafe. I can easily recognise passive racism when there is one. There is way of conveying things and his was rude and discriminative from the start. I was meeting friends after my first cycle of chemo and he ruined it for me with his rudnes and inability to apologise to a customer. Disappointed ! (Response to owner's reply : this added 09/03/2025) Thank you for your reply. You can watch cctv and make assumptions about when we finished food and whether we wanted to order more and sit there for some more time or not, but the way you have overreacted to this shows the lack of customer care your cafe has. Let me clarify this to you, if not already evident from my initial review, that it wasn't about the table’s availability, but about the rude attitude and lack of polite communication from your staff about it. The way he conveyed that information was rude from get go. If you want to go dialogue by dialogue then let me tell you that when your waiter first rudely informed that there is time limitation on two tables , ( I hope you had also watched this on cctv) I said let me call my friends to see if they had already booked table here to which your waiter very rudely replied that, that is not the case as he knows the name on the reservations ( so again he assumed who my friends might be or not be which is rude and discriminating) You keep mentioning about your staff member saying sorry, but he did not apologise at any point during any conversation. I am a professional as well and if there is a unsatisfactory service, I apologise even if I am not at fault, but your staff did not at any point. Thanks for bringing it up that after paying the bill, I went to give him feedback. I genuinely gave him one and there was opportunity to be polite and apologise, to avoid a 2 star review, but he kept on being unkind. How can you assume we finished the food at 12 and then did not want to order anything else? There were bar stools right in front (not reserved ) and another small table just gotten free and cleaned ( no reserve ) sign, to which he could have offered us to move to if we wish to order more or sit more there but he straight away said,’ guys we need this table back, would you like the bill now’? ( no apologetic words no politeness at all) again rudely conveyed. Is that what you ask all your customers to do to leave the place? . In addition, saying ,’why would they sit with 3 random people’ is aggressively conveyed. Also, if you really had taken this matter seriously, instead of threatening me , you could have contacted me and listened to both sides and may be this would have shown some learning and improvement for both or all of us rather than escalating the matter. It shows your approach to customer care or is that how you respond to reviews you don’t like? And as you can clearly see from my extensive google reviews that I do not go around giving negative reviews unless there is a reason to. Your staff member might be hurt ,but experiencing this rude attitude was no fun for me either and has affected my mental health as well. Let me summarise, yes I have experienced and I am mature enough to recognize passive racism when there is one. I have shared what I experienced and you instead of approaching this to de-escalate the situation have worked the opposite way which is disappointing. I will stand up for any such negative experience rather than being silenced. I hope this has clarified things for you , and if you still want to go ahead with authorities of course it is your choice. And again it was all about the rude way he was conveying the information rather than availability of tables!

Comfy chairs cosy atmosphere great tasting food what more can you ask for

Good food and a nice atmosphere. I was surprised that when the Egg Benedict arrived it was still hot with smoke. Highly recommend.

It’s my second time attempt to have breakfast when it says it opens at 9 am turned up the first time at 9.15 am and it wasn’t open . Turned up the second time at approx the same time and still not open don’t know how they stay in business if they can’t be bothered to open at the times they say they do. Such a shame as it looks nice inside and the menu is appealing.

As always great food and service. They made scrambled eggs for my dog who's allowed in.

First visit I tried the brisket, second visit the jerk chicken. Wow fantastic, the staff all friendly and helpful and cosy atmosphere that made you want to stay. Now booked to return to try more of the menu. Thank you TOAST

The food was great, staff were lovely and the atmosphere was very calm and relaxing. Went for brunch with a friend and had a lovely time here. Did not manage to catch the staff’s name (might have been the owner) but he was very friendly and made us feel welcome. He gave us the tea on the house and overall provided a wonderful service. Definitely recommend!

Amazing atmosphere, very well made cocktails. You can see the owner has spared no expense on ingredients for drinks or food. Shout out to Justin and the lovely lady hosting 👏🏽👏🏽 10/10 would recommend, especially with friends. Music was top, very fitting for the type of place x

HORRIFIC SERVICE BY JORDAN ETTE!!! On arrival excited to try Toast after hearing great things, we asked the waiter (JORDAN) if we have to wait to be seated or can we sit anywhere... Jordan rudely replied anywhere not reserved this being an empty cafe with two other tables in. After sitting in a dark corner and both bringing our mac books to finish some work. Jordan came over and threw the menus at us and stated which table are you sat on as we sat next to each other across two tiny tables. We explained we was sitting across both. He was so rude and condescending about this. Which I can understand if he was polite?! He had horrific attitude the whole time, I explained I felt he had rude customer service and he said ( Well Leave Then! ).. Whilst grabbing my bag to leave I went to ask his name and he was stood at the bar laughing with another waitress. I am honestly appalled that a waiter would be so rude, arrogant and ignorant and make us feel so uncomfortable!! I would never ever visit here again due to him!.

Wonderful owner! He’s so friendly and really makes your visit personal by saying hi and having a chat. French toast was really good and great strong coffee! A nice calm, relaxed vibe to sit and relax. Would recommend!

Outstanding food and service to match. Spicy Prawn and Chorizo was bloody amazing. And my girlfriend said her chicken and pesto hummus was a "taste explosion", proper lit up after the first bite. Also I was recommended the Hugo Spritz from Justin the owner and it was exactly what I was looking for. First visit here for my girlfriend's birthday but it won't be our last.

Firstly, The building and staff are lovely.. but at the end of the day you're there for the food and the food doesn't match. Bland, basic and overpriced.

Visited with the family, it's a very child friendly establishment with great selection of food done well. Highly recommend.

I have driven past this place every day for the last year and lived locally for longer still - but never paid it much attention. Externally it is relatively unassuming when surrounded by some of the other more bold colours and branding of Altrincham High Street. However this is, without a doubt, the best place I have eaten in Altrincham. The food is simply sublime. Rich, homely and refreshingly simple for such complex and deep flavours. It is sweetened further by a lovely team, excellent service and beautiful decor and therefore entirely worth the trip. It's honest, family owned and caringly run. I am not normally someone who returns to restaurants - preferring the variety of experience - but I will certainly be back and would encourage you to do the same. It's worth the hype and this review.

Love Toast for a Saturday brunch. Old bank turned eatery so makes for a great insta pic outside the front door. Service is fab; friendly, helpful and quick. Food is always great with options for GF, dairy free, veggie and vegan. Grab one of the tables by the window for ultimate people watching!

Toast is a fantastic place, staff amazing, food great everywhere is spotless. Justin is a lovely lovely person. The menu is brilliant and they are always adding new dishes. Wine is also delicious.

Friends and I arranged to meet up in Toast. We should've reserved a table as the place was almost full to capacity. Justin the owner was lovely and welcoming, he managed to prepare a table for the 3 of us. Breakfast was excellent and the coffee very good. Looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely café, with super comfy seating, great decor and a lovely ambience. Staff really attentive and friendly and kind. My partner had scrambled egg on toast, which she described as delicious (it looked it too). I had a cheese omelette with mushroom and spinach, and it was absolutely wonderful. Great place with great food and a warm welcome. Worth checking out.

This is a wonderful intimate small restaurant with a varied menu to suit all palates,including vegan & vegetarian.Gets busy at lunch time so booking is advisable.Priced very reasonably for quality of food and excellent service.Will certainly visit again.

This place, the guys, the service, coffee, the food… It is all consistently amazing. In fact, I know we are really lucky in Altrincham to have so many lovely places to eat and drink, but for me the breakfast, brunch, and coffee, it’s unmatched.

We had a fantastic Xmas meal last week for our Stroke Peer Support Group. Justin, Jordan and the team were very friendly and made us very welcoming. A perfect afternoon!

Possible Altrinchams best place. Been three times and never once have I had any negative experience. DEFIANTLY GO AND TRY.

Went with friend for the hot pot which is beuitful and so so so tasty followed by the most amazing homemade chocolate orange cheesecake which was amazing. It's great food in a great place with great staff and a great atmosphere.. Favourite place to eat. Love it. Merry Christmas to all the staff. X

Our Stroke group just had our Christmas lunch get together here. I was so impressed!! The food was amazing, I had cod loin with smashed peas, the flavours were fantastic and it was beautifully presented. Portions were a good filling size and the deserts were very generous. I couldn't fault anything. The service was excellent and attentive, all smiles. The atmosphere was warm and cosy. Just an all round excellent place to unwind, dine and converse with friends. I can't wait to come back!!

I usually love it here but wasn’t happy on this occasion. My mum was served burnt food that was completely black underneath. We told the waiter and fairly it was replaced but I was unhappy that they attempted to serve it to a paying customer in the first place. I usually like the relaxed atmosphere and am happy to pay the prices charged but if the food standard drops it instead just feels low-effort and silly paying that money. However this was the first time I have left feeling disappointed so if things are better next time I will delete my review.

Went for lunch with partner. Had the chicken and my partner had the goats cheese and both were superb. Not cheap but you get excellent service, good food, hot decent coffee and great ambiance. A few people also working from the restaurant so a great all rounder. Highly recommend.

This is a fantastic eatery. I would not hesitate to recommend Toast. The staff are friendly, the food is delicious and the pricing is very reasonable considering the quality of food. Well worth a visit!

Special thanks to Martina who reserved our ‘booth’ and welcomed me so warmly. Also the good looking guy (sorry didn’t get his name) who served us with such thoughtfulness and good humour. All four of us chose variations of the breakfast choices and were all really pleased with the quality. It’s a great venue, a varied menu and most important such a friendly cheerful team. Thanks for a pleasant experience.

An absolutely brilliant breakfast. Perfect Eggs Benedict served on a layer of thick ham and toast (choice of 4 breads), and one Toast Breakfast with items swapped (mushrooms for black pudding) by friendly, welcoming staff - all keen to help and not overly fussy or familiar. The place has a lovely warm feel with a great choice of seats, relax in an armchair, eat at a table, or on a high barstool. The toilets were beyond immaculate. The whole place was a credit to the staff who were humble in acceptance of thanks. We have never been to Toast before, however we now have an excuse to return to Altrincham and we are looking forward to seeing if lunch is as good!

We stopped by on a whim and they were able to seat our group of seven without a problem. The beverage selection was impressive and the atmosphere was very relaxing. The food was delicious! I absolutely loved the soup; it was very rich and flavorful. Part of me wishes I had more time to savor the soup, but we had to run.

Had eaten here before and had a good experience so very disappointed with the Toast Breakfast - burnt bacon, burnt crumpet (difficulty cutting it with knife) and rather measily one slim slice of blackpudding. Could do better.

Toast has to be one of our favourite places to go in Altrincham. Despite a fair amount of competition Toast is head and shoulders above the rest. The beautiful building, comfy seating, fabulous playlist make this a must visit for a coffee (or something stronger!) and a relaxing bite to eat. On our visit we had the Chicken caprese salad - deliciously tasty and so fresh made using quality ingredients. Quality is the word that sums Toast up - brilliant staff, spotlessly clean with the bathrooms getting a special mention for constantly being kept to an incredibly high standard. Looking forward to our next visit!

I took 4 friends to TOAST today for lunch - none of whom had experienced the pleasure before.......... and WHAT A PLEASURE .The food and the service were second to none. I have to say that all the staff were so very attentive and didn't forget one single thing we asked for - even though they were extremely busy!Needless to say, my friends were well impressed and I breathed a sigh of relief - its always difficult recommending anywhere to people.It was just great - thanks to everyone, including the chef!! A regular eating place for us. Food is consistently good they will even fine tune your order to your preferences. The prissy waiter whose name is Jordan by the way is excellent attentive and very helpful. Can't recommend highly enough. The ordering system works great for us order your drinks then an extra few minutes to study the menu. Give it a try you won't be disappointed .
