We were made to feel welcome from when we ordered our drinks at the bar. I had the steak in ale pie which was excellent. I was pleased to see that it came with lots of vegetables. My partner had the sea bass and he said it was one of the best meals he had ever had. Too full for pudding!

Good food at a good price. Good beer. Nice log fire.

Just had fish and chips with my wife as a Christmas treat, the food was fantastic well presented and served promptly, will be back again soon a nice end to the holidays.Beer was good as well. Friendly local with a proper atmosphere... Thanks

Great intimate traditional pub on the outskirts of Altrincham town centre. Great food and facilities. Have a darts team and poker nights on Mon / Thurs

Went in for a funeral Buffet and l must say it was probably one of the nicest buffets l have had.plenty of variety congratulations to who prepared it.

We've just had a fantastic meal, my husband had Cumberland sausage and mash, with green vegetables, I ate 5oz gammon steak, onion rings, chips,salad . . The presentation was amazing, couple on next table had steak pie wow!!! I highly recommend this venue, its friendly, cosy and good value.

Fantastic pub. We came to work in the area for 2 weeks and The Roebuck became our local. Great food, service and a great beer garden. And a special shout out to Mike who looked after us like we were old friends. Highly recommended 😁

Great local pub with a good range of drinks. A lovely welcome from Mike & Eve, we popped in a few times and had some great nights during our stay at the hotel up the road. The seating area out the back is lovely and all the plants are very nice.

I just called in on the off chance that they were still doing food and I am glad I did. I was greeted with a warm welcome and made to feel like a regular. I ordered a large gammon and egg. Wow. What a portion it was. I have got to confess that I didn't finish everything. The gammon was nicely cooked on a grill and not salty at all. The beer was good and all for a good price. I will definitely be returning if I am staying in the area. It was nice to have a proper home cooked meal, not a ping.

Absolutely Love it, highly recommend it this little pub for lunch and good beer 🍻 outside garden it’s really nice, food was delicious more than expecting!! Chefs and front of house was very friendly and helpful definitely coming again this weekend ;)

Little Gem in Altrincham, really nice beer garden and good welcoming atmosphere

What a great pub, very friendly locals, nice beer and great food cooked by the Landlord ( I have been told). I am from North of the border, visited here 3 times in a week, with a trip to Malta in between, this is my local. We don't get pubs like this up in my area.

First time, and found accidentally, but will certainly be visiting again next time I’m in the area. Lovely unpretentious bar, great service, and amazing home cooked food at reasonable prices.

Excellent home made pies and proper chips. Hand pulled well kept cask ales and log fires. Lovely pub.

This is a great local Altrincham pub with plenty of character. The landlord has a special rota where he sells a select choice of different beers and IPA ale's each month. It's good for discovering something you may have never tried before, just ask! . The food is good too. The menu has a tasty homemade feel to it, typical pub grub with a decent range of dishes. You can't go wrong with the Cumberland Sausage, mash gravy and veg!😋 The Roebuck is one of our favourite lunchtime haunts in Altrincham, 😊 definitely recommend.

Amazing fresh food and great service

There seem to be so many “plastic “ pubs these days that it is good to find a place like this . Warm , comfortable - there was a real open fire burning on the day of our visit - in fact everything a pub should be . Scampi & chips/ fish & chips , one pint and one nicely chilled glass of white wine and that was our lunch sorted . The barman is friendly and helpful without being “ in your face “ . Highly recommend this place . One thing of particular merit worth mentioning is that the meals were served on hot plates . Thank you for this . Cold plates for hot tasty food should be outlawed .

Called in for a few pints whilst staying over in Altrincham. Paid contactless card for pints of Timothy Taylor at £3.95 each over a period of a couple of hours. All was good until 2 weeks later when the Bank Statement arrived and one of the transactions had gone through at £33.95 instead of £3.95. Not saying it was done deliberately and I know I should check more carefully but still very annoying. Lesson learned for the future.

Excellent cosy local pub very close to the town centre. Traditional layout with different rooms around a central bar which serves a variety of well kept traditional ales alongside several continental lagers.

We ate and drunk there on 2 consecutive nights. Good range of dishes from pasta, pies and puddings, burgers, steak and fish. There is a warning displayed that all the pies are freshly cooked and take 30 minutes. Well worth the wait. excellent helpful bar staff as well. If you are in a large party, I would recommend phoning ahead and reserving a table.

A hidden gem of a place ! Tucked away down a side street but worth seeking out . The service is good and the food is freshly cooked and very , very tasty . We both opted for scampi and chips . The best scampi I have ever had ! Generous portions .

Great pub with a friendly atmosphere from both staff and locals. Had a drink in the beer garden which was well laid out and furnished. Returned later in the evening for a meal which was also lovely. Had already been a few times previously and will return in the future. Definitely my favourite pub in alty.

Enjoyed a few drinks sat outside at the back, a lot of effort has been made to make it welcoming, good tables with loungy benches, cushions and little pleasant nik naks on the table, beautiful hanging baskets and pub cat, sausage, cruising round. Good selection of beers and spirits, all tasted spot on. Polite helpful hard working lads behind the bar, let my husband taste the beer first as he hadnt had it before. Lovely atmosphere, shabby as it should be, toilets clean. I would visit again.

The Old Roebuck was a venue I hadn't been to since I was in my 20s. Went there to wish a colleague well on her forthcoming marriage with the rest of our office crew. Great private area outside but under cover Great food and lovely atmosphere. We are going again on Wednesday this next week. Liked it so much.

Just called for a couple of pints with mates not been in before bar staff were friendly and efficient service was good and prices were OK.Good outside seating area sheltered worth a visit.

Just moved to Altrincham and looking for a local, this place fits the bill perfectly, great staff, great beer and great food.

Stopped for a mid afternoon drink in the garden, were accompanied by the pub cat who was very friendly, very pleasant gentleman served our drinks very promptly. Nice setting in garden/yard area as some lovely flowers around the perimeter. Good old fashioned English pub which makes a refreshing change from the otherwise trendy, pricey places to be found in Altrincham these days.

Great friendly little local with fantastic food ..... You gotta try their food, it's top notch. They have an awesome heated beer garden with comfy booths and some great beers. Hi e them a try for sure I recommend their Burgers and their Beer Battered Fish and Chips

Visited the Old Roebuck last week for lunch and was impressed with the way they are fighting COVID. On entering the pub you are greeted by a sanitizer station, then shown to a table where a member of staff takes your order and asks for your name, and a contact number. The food we had was 1st class and upon leaving we were asked to exit by the back door, which also has a sanitizer station by it. I cannot see what else this landlord can do to keep us safe, and well. Thank you the Old Roebuck.

Friendly staff and a warm, friendly atmosphere.

Visited this week. Friendly service. The outside area was very nice. Surprisingly there is ZERO attempt to register the details of patrons to aid “track & trace” for Covid reasons. Ignorance or indifference I don’t know. Incredible. I find the Old Packet House and Miss Trooper jangle the situation well. Old Roebuck a D minus I’m afraid.

Food was amazing, we opted for the steak & Ale Pud, the best I've tasted, wonderful comfort food, well cooked, great atmosphere, love this place ,♥️

Doing all we can to support local businesses, and we have never had a bad meal here. Capacity is limited at the moment but standards are high and both food and a good selection of beer are excellent.
