We just went for a quick drink without food late this evening ( Thurs) Very friendly staff , with great service and really lovely pub! Couldn't ask for more, Haven't been here before, but will definitely visit again !

Different selection of beers to your usual local pub,can be quiet at times but welcoming enough last time we visited

Had an amazing night with friends and Craig and his team who have recently taken over the pub will get this pub back to the days of the old faulkners for those who remember. Really good night and great chatting to Craig who certainly has my backing and would really recommend anyone going out in altrincham to visit. Will be back very soon. Great pub, not food orientated , down to earth people !

Absolute joke tried to order three lemonades and the bar staff refused to serve us. Just popped in to see the the open mic night. Will never recommend or try again. Incredibly rude service. Interesting and inaccurate response. Look forward to your none generic response. As this was not my order and I was very polite considering I was completely ignored at the bar.

Great venue for the football, wide variety of bar snacks. Whether it be the football, DJ Les on a Saturday or Live music on a Sunday with Jordan. There is something for everyone and all the family. Drink prices have also been kept low to help people with the cost of living. £3.70 for a pint in the centre of Altrincham You cannot beat it! Friendly staff, just make sure you bring your ID for challenge 25.

Good pub with a brilliant atmosphere and lovely staff who are friendly and overall a brilliant place to go to if you want a pint or just a drink. Spoke to a brilliant boy behind the counter but I think the pub should be opened a bit longer

Went in for the open mic night that someone recommended. Really dissatisfied with the service. Asked for lemonade. And was refused service ??? Would not recommend and incredibly rude bar staff

This is one of my favourite places in Altrincham. The staff are brilliant, always friendly and considerate. Sunday nights are open mic night, always a great night! Come down and support this lovely place whenever you can.

Tavern on the Green launched a new menu on Wednesday night - Polish dishes. We tried the pork steaks, chicken, and pork stew dishes (between the three of us). All absolutely delicious!!The pork stew was definitely the highlight. The sauce was just absolutely divine. I do wish all dishes had had that sauce! But they were all good regardless. Really enjoyed. The mash, slaw and salad were all full of flavour and super yummy. We all loved the sides. Fabulous staff too. Huge thanks to a great dinner!

Great staff, unfortunately, no real ale and despite Man UTD winning their match, the commentary was far too loud.

Visited on a busy Saturday evening. Obviously a bit of a sports bar as TV showing football at eardrum-melting volume. A lot of well refreshed customers who were quite raucous. Moved on after a couple of drinks.

Sat outside downstairs at the back, nice tables and chairs. Good selection of drinks. Hardworking nice staff, especially blonde young lady. Varied background music, clean and tidy. I would visit again.

Right opposite the Travelodge, they do the piemeister pies, no I'd never heard of them before either but they really are good although I thought a bit pricey, nice casual & trendy place, probably suited to the younger members of our society but I'm a young 70 & thought it was great, give it a try.

Decent pint available here. Came in here to watch th footy and it worked a treat. It was fairly quite with a chilled atmosphere. Staff were friendly and the prices were fairly decent. There is lots of choice for pubs in Altrincham and this is worth at least a visit

Conveniently situated opposite the Travelodge in the town centre, we enjoyed a delicious evening meal here before catching an early morning flight from Manchester Airport. We were immediately struck by the friendliness of the staff when we walked in and the pies, supplied by Pieminister, a local Manchester restaurant, were very tasty, with a range of fillings that change seasonally. Good beer and a wide range of spirits, including non-alcoholic options.

I do visit TotG for drinks most weeks as it's a chilled atmosphere, the quiz night is really good and always the bonus of having football on. I've never actually eaten one of there pies though. My mate and I decided to meet up for lunch as they had a half price food offer and been a Yorkshire man who can resist a bargain. It was about 12:30 and they had already sold out of the Blue Moo (steak and blue Stilton), so Chadders ordered the Moo (the last one) and I ordered the Chicken, portabello and mushroom pie. Both came with mash and gravy. I did enjoy mine but I'm assuming it had garlic in the pie sauce. I'm not a massive garlic fan but I can't take anything away from the pie, it was well made and the service was pretty rapid

Great place and excellent service

This is a great pub that has a good atmosphere and food. The pies are excellent and well worth a try. In January they have a special offer two drinks for £5.

This place is a hidden gem. We spent a very good night on New year's Eve with them. It was amazing. The staff made me feel like family. Noone was left out of the party

Great little pub. Honest beer, honest prices, honest patrons. One of my preferred haunts in Alty. Always has the rugby on, certainly for big matches.

Lovely pub really good selection of ale and cask , plus they like strangers

Never been in this pub before but I really liked it, we were able to get a table ok and it had a really good feeling about the place. Didn't have to wait long at the bar, lots of choice regarding drinks of favourite tipples, no idea about the beer though, sorry. When in the area again I would definitely call in for a tipple

Crammed for the Liverpool Manchester city game I was not impressed with the real ales poor choices and one of the beers was gopping

Just had dinner here after watching Judy at the pictures, nice clean pub, very friendly staff and pies to die for, as pub grub goes you can't beat these pies, great choice of award winning pies using 100% farm assured beef and 100% free range brittish chickens,pork and eggs (just read that off the wall), very, very tasty, good choice of aleas and largers as well. Well done The Tavern on The Green, certainly come back here again.

Friendly staff with a good range of beers. A good place to start (or end!) an evening out. Small beer garden to the rear with a tv - ideal for watching sport in the summer.

We visited yesterday with family and all really enjoyed our food. We came on a recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed! The Pies are a decent size and presented really well on the mash. The mac and cheese was the nicest I've ever had when eating out.. Drinks reasonably priced and the staff were all lovely and friendly. Top marks for everything! Will definitely be returning :)

What a totally nice pub now. The new owner and his family really make the place. Pies and fries for meals, full bar, quiz nights and more. Tv and music. Great place to go now and will defo be back.

First visit. Vegan pie, mash and peas was cracking. Nice couple of pints and the barman James was very friendly. Won't be my last visit.

We dropped by after a wrong turn as we were desperate for food and the "Best Pie" award caught my eye. They were not wrong. Best pies I think I've had. Excellent value for money. A great find.

Situated almost opposite the Travelodge in Altringham which was handy, nice little place, great pies !!! Only been in once.

Found this pub whilst watching my Wife run the Marathon, excellent range beers all well kept. We stopped by to wait for my wife to pass by. The staff were very friendly, even lent my sister in law a phone charger as her phone battery was nearly dead.

Hubby and I called in here enroute from a flight from Dublin to visit family. He expressed a desire for a British pie and pint and lo and behold we came across Tavern on the Green offering just that! Friendly, helpful landlord and the pies were properly baked pastry pies (none of this puff pastry lid baked separately stuff) with delicious mash.

Down from Cornwall to visit family son took me here great atmosphere great staff and above all a perfect pint of Guinness.

Alty is full of bars and they're all rather similar. The Tavern is more like a pub than a bar which is probably a good thing! The staff are always great - really helpful and polite too. It gets noisy when full but show me a pub which doesn't. It attracts a mixed clientele too- not lots of Instagram types, rather real people out with their mates.

Popped in on a quiet Monday lunchtime after a visit to the cinema. Food was delicious and service was quick and friendly. The lunchtime deal is good value - any pie, mash, gravy and a pint/soft drink for £10. Would definitely return!

Myself and 26 colleagues visited the Tavern last Tuesday for a pie and mash lunch.

Called in here as we saw the pieminister sign outside and had heard good things about them.

Pie, mash, gravy and a beer for a tenner, what more can u ask for!

On a cold soggy day its a very welcoming place. Staff friendly, great service especially as I was with a party of 30. The pies are excellent in my opinion and there is a great selection. They also had a large selection of gins
