Popped in for a quick pint after a hard days training and enjoyed every minute. The atmosphere was brilliant and we were soon chatting with locals as if we were locals ourselves.

We’ve eaten in The Legh hundreds of times and food has always been great. Tonight I had the fish & Chips, I’ve seen so many people over the years have it and always thought it looked fab however always chosen something else. Tonight I chose the fish & chips, oh wow it was amazing. The fish was cooked to perfection (and huge) and chips red hot, crispy but fluffy in inside. Will 100% be having that again, cannot believe I’ve never had it before.

Went to this pub with friends to order lunch. Ordered the rump steak to be medium to well done . Food arrived 30 mins later. Steak was under cooked. After tellin the bar staff they ordered us another steak meal..again was waiting another 35 mins and the steak was still bloody... not happy at all will not be going back to this place 😕

Just a classic pub with bought in food. 'Ultimate bought in burger' beef, buttermilk chicken, and beef brisket bbq. 13 quid, it filled a hole. You wouldn't take your family here for meal. Pint and food. Atmosphere was like the jockey 🏇.

We haven't been in here on a Sunday since before lockdown. So we just popped in for a Sunday dinner this afternoon and wasn't expecting what we got. Fantastic big thick slices of tender roasted beef, plenty of veg, lovely roasted potatoes, a giant Yorkshire pudding and plenty of delicious gravy. Highly recommend. A big Thank you to all the staff.😋😋😋😋

The Players of Sale had a great evening meal on Monday evening and on their behalf I would like to thank all the lovely staff who looked after us so well. To be honest maybe should drink in here more, traditional pub, staff friendly, lovely outdoor bit at the back, great to see a bowling green in use, so many pubs have lost them over the years. Food looks OK.

this is the only place we go to for a meal out my two favourite meals has to be the gammon and fish and chips [ if the fish gets any bigger they will nee king size plates ] my wife always has the chicken nuggets with skinny chips [ kids meal as shes not a big eater ] but never leaves anything.

Food was nice super enjoyable staff were friendly went to watch bowls on Thursday staff had a good chat with the team wishing them good luck same positive attitude to a 2 person game. Good luck for the future

Decent pub good for a day out with friends or family

We had my mum's funeral reception here yesterday. Buffet food was good , including very freshly made sandwiches. Prompt service at the bar. We had the reception room at the back overlooking the bowling green. Paul, Sam & all the the staff looked after our group. Can definitely recommend the pub & would happily book here again.

An excellent place to have a drink and the food is very good and excellent value,and if you like quizzes kareoke and bingo your well catered for,oh and not to mention the friendly staff

Had a cracking night after an afternoon at the rugby. Made to feel most welcome. Great choice of beer and the food looked good too. Will definitely be back next year. Cheers guys and gals.

Went out for a birthday lunch with a friend, atmosphere was lovely and the food was amazing, will be returning very soon. Highly recommend 10/10 thanks to the staff also.

Visited here on a Saturday afternoon and it was fairly quiet. Lovely lady serving behind the bar. Some great offers on meals. They are offering 2 for £13 on certain meals. There was a message saying they are doing a limited menu at the moment. Food was really enjoyable, very tasty and filling. The inside of the pub was clean and tidy. Gorgeous outside seating area with a bowling green. Small car park. Really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area. 5 ⭐

We were all made to feel really welcome, food was delicious and piping hot, the price was great too! We were a party of 18 people age ranging 14 to 89 years and everyone has asked to book again next year! Thanks all, Merry Christmas and a Happy New year x

The landlord ( Paul) always makes you feel welcome at the Legh Arms, the Christmas Day lunch was very good and not rushed, that was appreciated as the staff had obviously given up part of their Christmas day to provide a service to others - Thank you !

All in all a great experience. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was plentiful and delicious pub fare. Couldn't recommend more for a great Sunday pub lunch.

Had a breakfast pizza, wasn't as good as I thought it would be after reading the menu description. Needs a bit of tlc when cooking! Like for example, if you chuck the black pudding in the pizza, it won't taste as nice if first u fry it to let it release its magical flavour. My mate asked a curry and it was fairly small. Other than that, clean and quiet place in the afternoon.

Quality pub good local all be it a bit pricey compared to other Holts pubs in the area.

We sat outside and it took about 20mins to be served at our table. We felt this was a long time, but it was our first time in a pub and covid restrictions were in place.

Had a nice pint of IPA sat in the beer garden

Couldnt order at the bar, was told it was table service only. Waited 45 minutes with waiters/waitresses walking past without taking our order. Ended up leaving without a drink

Wow! I never expected that! It’s a Holts pub spit and sawdust-WRONG! Food is spectacular proper pies and spicy chilli and choice of wines,staff excellent,GO THERE!

I like the Legh Arms but wish they served alcohol free cider and more lime cordial with the soda water

Had two poor experiences here regarding food. The quality of the meat seemed substandard so, if I were to return, I would not order steak/Gammon etc. Service behind the bar seemed slow and unenthusiastic as they seemed annoyed that I wanted to order drinks. .

Used to be a regular but even the basic Holts lager has risen to £3.24 a pint - the place looked dead when I last went in, seems people maybe realising the landlord is getting greedy here... better value beers nearby

Good pub but need more staff at peak times, especially when big games on tv! You're making loads of money at these times, so don't stint at the punter's cost!

As a real ale drinker, I would like to have more choice if beers but I do understand that these days lager is the choice of the majority of clientele. As for atmosphere, the place is great, good screens and good people.

Just had the Christmas meal menu as an early Christmas lunch with my family. Eight of us eating and couldn’t fault any aspect of the meal. Great choices, piping hot food, served well - absolutely perfect and a great price. Highly recommended

Enjoyable Saturday evening , early meal for 9 diverse adult family members & personalities not to mention likes & dislikes ,, We had pre reserved a table in the front bar to the left .Food was ordered and paid for at the bar. Arrived promptly and all together !! Some high end restaurant can’t manage to do this at times. Obviously bar meals traditional fish chips / various pies / scampi / hunters chicken / sirloin & rump steaks. Everyone enjoyed their meal which was of good quality hot & plentiful. The young lady who served us was efficient pleasant and organised... We all agreed excellent value for money . The Legh Arms pub meals , service and vibe is an asset to Sale Moor and has most definitely established itself as a community pub for both meals & drinks . Not our first visit nor likely to be our last . Well worth trying.

Good traditional pub which does traditional pub fare. The smaller front side of the pub is my favourite part which is very traditional and cosy. The back of the pub has two large rooms and is more modern and is better for large groups/families/food and watching the footy.

Have been back to the leigh arms to give them a try after Paul the manager replied to my last visit we had already been in and the food was very enjoyable. So today we took the family for a get together .paul made himself known to us which we thought was lovely. We all ordered a great range off the menu which was delicious .food was hot well presented what a different a chef makesWe then sat outside in a clean and pleasant area lovely time was had by all.

Been there couple of times and we enjoyed their beers,the atmosphere is nice and relaxed there is more than one room to sit down,(not recommended the one where toilettes are but thats me with a strong sense of smell) staff friendly and good for tv sports too.

On a very warm summer Tuesday, we stopped at the Legh Arms for a light lunch. The first thing was to find an outdoor table in the shade. There are picnic style wooden tables along the side of the bowling green at the rear of the pub; these are in the shade and you have a good chance of being away from all the smokers who tend to dominate all outside areas at pubs in this country. It was a very relaxed and peaceful spot to spend some time, looking out over the grass of the green. On a Tuesday, they were offering 2 meals for £13 (if you bought a drink). We ordered two Moroccan chicken salads which were ideal on a warm day. The staff were helpful and the meals came out in good time. It wasn’t at all busy, but still pleasing to be in a space where everything is kept clean and tidied, and where there are lovely floral tubs and baskets as well as shady trees and the green grass of the bowling green. An oasis on a quiet weekday in the summer.

So today we came for tea with family normally food is of good standard but don't know what happened to night. Had ordered the mushrooms with garlic and blue stilton sauce I have had this on several occasions always delicious. Served in a dish garlic bread on the side but today it was first of all served on a plate with the bread on the base with the mushrooms and sauce poured over it so I asked the young lady who served us was this the new menu no she replied it's up to the chef please can I have it the old way of course she said .well I must of upset the guy in the kitchen the new dish came our with that much pepper corns in the sauce it was seriously inedible took out at least 20 out the sauce was so peppery no stilton or garlic could be tasted. When my plate was cleared away which was still full said to the server well it seems I have upset the chef hes got his revenge she said you probably haveSpent a lot of money here today. Will not recommend this place again.
