Nice old school boozer. Crystal and diamond lager. Nice dedicated area for darts. 2 boards, great on match night for a bit of practice whilst waiting. Raised oche, unicorn eclipse boards. Lighting could be a bit better as one board used one of those arch lights. Leaves the bottom slightly dull. Electronic scoreboard. Decent pub for darts 👌 🎯🎯🎯🎯

Always pop in after a long days work. Well relaxed pub with great atmosphere especially on weekends 😄

There aren't many gluten free options at this bar so if you any dietary restrictions I would avoid for food. We also didn't feel very welcome when we arrived (got told it would be VERY busy later - and we're surprised that they didn't want to make us feel welcome as first time visitors. However there were quite a few screens around so I imagine it would be quite a good pub to watch the football in.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff.. Nice decor, snug rooms too. . I've also eaten here and the food was really good. So all in all a great place to go for a quick drink, a meeting or spend an evening with mates . . Has parking too.

A good all round experience, just wish they had a bigger variety of sugar free soft drinks, not just diet Coke, and should have available tea and coffee as per menu, you don't even need a machine to make tea, just a kettle and the will do attitude

Only good thing here is the people who go to it. Other then then that the recent changes are not the best. The menu isn’t the best anymore and was very underwhelmed. My experience with staff is that only 2 of them ( one being the man with long hair) are polite. The rest just wanna talk to their pals

Unfortunally I was at a wake of my brother best friend. and cannot coment on any of its ales or food as I don't drink alcohol and I don't eat any food but on a positive side its looked like a very nice place to have a meal. As I've not been in the place for quite z few year.

As soon as you open the doors there’s a warm welcoming..seems like from everyone! The bar staff were super friendly and the same with the chef who popped out to say hi. I took my mum out for food and a few drinks. We had fish and chips..followed with sticky toffee pudding..The food portions were spot on and very tasty..Got what I asked for. I will definitely be returning.

Every aspect of this pub is community, family and fun based. Not much selection of branded beers, mostly local beer. Food portion size is very small for the price. Even a simple thing as chip is more than£4 and very small portion.

Took my son & elderly parents for lunch. After choosing what we wanted myself & my son went to the bar to order. We asked for 2 large coke but the glasses were regular sized & only half full when we said something the server put another splash in. On ordering our food we decided to take advantage of the offer 2 course & a drink for £16 the server said why didn't you say that I've already entered your order, her attitude was disgusting. When the starter of garlic & stilton mushrooms arrived it was more like mushroom in cheese soup - didn't look very appetizing & my dad said it tasted awful as well. When we told the server - she just said oh well you didn't like it then. I wasn't after the money back or anything but an acknowledgement or an apology would of been nice. We left not long after that & will not be going back.

We have only been coming into this pub for a short time, but I would highly recommend it. The staff are a credit to the Landlady as is the food service and atmosphere. Friendly local pub serving good food and good beer. Great entertainment with resident DJ who also runs a competitive and fun quiz night and karaoke! Guest DJ spots and a good range of live music which is always well received. Lots of sports showing with TVs all around the pub, darts comps and family friendly events through the year. The rooms are also hired out for groups in the community which brings lots of groups together. A local asset!

Excellent holts pub with lovely food and some good deals , friendly staff and lovely landlady, good music on Friday and Sunday night with a DJ and quiz night on a Tuesday, would recommend a night out here

Great pub, always a positive atmosphere. Staff (management included) are fantastic, welcoming, easy to approach and always happy to go above and beyond. The food is prepared to a high standard and affordable with the added value of good sized portions. Plenty of events to attend midweek and regular weekend entertainment.

This is a fantastic pub with a great atmosphere, and a very friendly landlady and staff. The service is great and the ales and lagers are well kept. It has been my local for 45 years and I wouldn't change it one little bit.

What a fantastic pub - there are very very few like it now in the UK. Plenty of customers and so a great atmosphere. We went in watch a City match with friends. There was loads of light hearted friendly banter from the regulars, both City and United fans, even for me a relative stranger. There's a great range of beers and excellent food. Thoroughly recommend a visit if you're passing, it's close to the Trafford Centre too.

If I'm honest, I wasn't digging the vide. Staff seemed nice and there seems to be a real local feel to it I.e. most of the people knew each other. I'm not sure if it is a thing here in the UK but no lounge staff. You are left to fend for yourself. If u want food then ask, if u want a menu then go get one from one of the tables. I know that sound bad but I don't mean it like that. It depends on your expectations. I did not end up getting food cause I was just not feeling it. Nice looking place and lots of TV screens. I plan to go back and get it a proper chance. Overall I think there is potential but need to give it a second chance.

Such a fantastic pub. There for a cheerleading presentation. Newly refurbished. Lovely staff,walm and welcoming. Food was great and a good choice of beers.

Took my dad for father's Day today the service was really good the food was delicious and well presented the staff Sharon and steff were very hospitable and even came round with free shots of whiskey . It's a lovely place to have a family or friends to get together and have a bite to eat and a drink also it has been recently refurbished decor is lovely. 5 starsl

A really nice establishment set in a residential area. It's a good sized pub with a great selection of beers and all sensibly priced. I was here for a private function upstairs but ventured downstairs for the bar, where a DJ was playing. The clientele is mature and super friendly, a proper credit to Manchester. I was told that this is a United pub so if you're going to a game at Old Trafford then this is a good pub to have pre and post drinks in. I would go so far as to say I'd pay a visit to this pub if I was in the Greater Manchester area. On street parking is plentiful though I imagine this would be vastly different on game day.

Hadn't been here for 15 years, sad to see the interior decimated, now a plastic pub. What was once the Holt's flagship is now more like a Wetherspoons but with the advantage of having a decent pint on pump (real of course 😉👍🏻)

Great pub every livery at the weekend

Traditional large family pub with lots of seating areas inside and out. The garden out back is beautifully maintained. The staff were lovely and made us feel welcome. Toilets were clean and well stocked with hand sanitizer/handwash etc. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced.

This pub was fantastic, its great team and Steph the new manager were all welcoming. The pub looks great and has lots of booths and areas if you want to have a more private time or indeed if you want to send the lads to watch the footie there’s a room for that too! Lol The food was perfect, I only had a burger but it was cooked perfectly and I almost didn’t finish it all! And the prices were so reasonable! Defo worth a visit especially if there is a dj or karaoke on this pub caters for everyone. Well done to the whole team

Good service despite covid rules

Melville is usually a great place but oppressive government restrictions for all hospitality venues mean socialising and watching football is not enjoyable at the moment 😥

Absolutely disgusted at this sunday dinner for £9.25. Yes, I asked for it without the meat but asked for cauliflower cheese instead....I was told I had to pay extra even though I didnt want the meat. The roast potatoes were rock solid and obviously been re-fried/re-heated and they were clearly dropped from the deep fat fryer basket straight onto the plate. In total I paid £10.75 for this plate of food and the cauliflower cheese was cold and the sauce was very watery. Would not eat here again.

The Melville has had a few problems in the past, but it really seems to be trying to turn it around. Food is decent, staff are nice and it's working well with the covid restrictions.

Enjoyed a nice meal with friends, great staff and felt safe due to the Covid measures in place.

What a beautiful amazing time I had the staff are so friendly and nice Tracey and Michelle. But Lisa and Simon are wonderful people who have this pub on the rise they are totally wonderful people who have the heart of the pub on there minds. They go above and beyond to make sure the customers are well looked after while making sure all rules and regulations are there highest priority for there pub! I can’t wait till all fully back to normal with food and entertainment as this pub is great but it’s even better with the staff and management Lisa and Simon and recommend everyone to come in and have a pint or short x

The food here is amazing. I live just around the corner and had never been. I will definitely be revisiting and it looks like the menu is great for the kids too.
