To Hungry Horse - The Bridge Inn in North Somerset

Visited the soft play yesterday, one young girl in there on her own looking like she was struggling. Took her ages to clear people’s tables after they had left we offered or help her but she kindly denied our request. (Wasn’t her fault was lack of staff and very busy) Can’t remember ladies name was young blond girl was amazing throughout the whole time we were there. Was amazing with my little girl and interacted with her as well as trying to get through everything else that needed doing in there. Think the managers need to get more staff in on a weekend was horrible seeing the young lady trying to sort that the mess, clear all the tables and clear a party up after they left. Big well done to her and we will be back for the soft play.

We last visited the bridge around 8 years ago and after having a few negative experiences we decided that we wouldn’t return. Fast forward 8 years and the addition of a child, we thought we’d give it another go as there is a soft play that we though our child would like. There has been a definite improvement, the food was nice, and served quickly. Whilst the pub is dated, it felt cleaner than when we had visited years ago. My only grumble is that there was one person serving at the bar whilst two other staff were stood around, having a drink then wandering off and then back to hide behind the pillar at the bar, so that was a little frustrating. The soft play was a hit with our child too, so we will be returning.

Great service from Sophie once again in the play area. Always makes our visits pleasurable, good conversation, she’s helpful and on top of what is going on within the play area. If there is an issue she is quick to sort it, my children enjoy coming to the play area knowing they will be safe and looked after in there. Food was good and service was quick didn’t have to wait long for our food thank you

The best of a bad bunch in the sh*thole that Yatton is to be honest. This place still poor though, service very slow and a bit rundown in truth. Wouldn’t recommend coming here, staff seemed a little unbothered also. Food average.

Out for a meal with friends and this pub was the closest. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient and the food was good and brought out to us quicker than i expected. A very nice evening.

Rude manager. Jake was speaking badly of the staff, had an attitude towards the young staff members in the play area. We come in quite often with our children and there has been a few occasions where we’ve been in there and that manager has upset staff members in the pub and play area. Sophie is always super helpful when we come in and deals with any issues we have when we are there. I have been in there before where Jake has spoken to Sophie and the other young lady in there horribly and in front of customers which isn’t professional at all.

We chose here after needing somewhere to stay for airport the next day. The pub is amazing staff so friendly.The meals and cocktails were also really good and fantastic value for money. We usually stay in a premier inn and this place is a little gem.The rooms are huge and so comfortable.No pull out beds for kids a proper mattress.The staff are very friendly too.We will definitely stay here again in future and have recommended to all family and friends. Proper value for money and a fraction of the cost compared to hampton by hilton.Easy 15min drive to airport next day.

Came in today for lunch disappointed meal was dry and bland with missing cheese nacho sauce in bun staff to busy to ask of food was ok and pub felt tired and unloved

The food is excellent, we both had choices from the breakfast menu today. Ordered at the till & the food arrived in less than 10-minutes. Delicious as always. Whilst eating our breakfast we noticed two cleaners who were cleaning in the dining area. We couldn’t believe how very thorough they were. They were both working very diligently & we were both so very impressed. It’s often these important members of staff who get overlooked in reviews but they were incredible, keeping the dining area, clean & tidy. The waiting & serving staff as always were polite, helpful & professional. It’s the same when we dine there in the evenings too, when it’s very busy. The same high standard of service apply then too. A joy to visit & would highly recommended.

Found this place on our way to Clevedon NT.lite bites of fish finger wraps and baguettes plus salad.very nice and it hit the spot

We’ve stayed a few times now, testimony to the fact that this is a hotel worthy of a stay when visiting the area. The pub does get busy so there may be a wait on your food, however the staff will inform you of the wait time, you just have to be patient or make a decision on what you want to do. Good pub food, reasonable prices and good quality. The staff are pleasant and friendly, feels more live a visit to friends than a bog standard hotel. The rooms are reasonable, they are equipped with everything you expect, clean and tidy, may be awaiting a bit of a refurbishment, but this isn’t something to put you off. We’ll be back again and again.

Check in from 2 pm .1 of our bedrooms were not ready until last 3 pm . Booked this in as it has a play area , so Kent to be ideal break . Spoke to member of staff what the the play area is closing,been told 8 am . Went for a quick shopping to Tesco came back hoping kids can have a great time playing and they closed down . We decided to eat early at the restaurant, that had hardly anything on the menu. I was really fed hearing they don’t have this ,or that on the menu. Restaurant generally not very clean . Loads of leftovers food and fork around our table area.Couldn’t even buy a coffee at 4 pm as they’ve run out of milk! Limited alcohol from the list too . Really disappointed with the whole experience

Rang to book a table they were really helpful as we wanted a table to be able to watch the six nations. Arrived they had put us in a perfect place. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. I would also like to say it was the best meal at a hungry horse I have ever had. The steak was perfect and my burger was not over cooked but tasty and moist without the chargrilled/burnt edges. Well done will be back.

A late new-year Family get together with family from kent wiltshire & yatton it was quick service at the bar meals arrived quickly & hot nice polite staff good service enjoyable evening .

Stayed here after coming back off of holiday. Rooms are lovely and clean, staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is such fantastic value and tasty too. All round great value for money, will book again.

Responding the £5 lunch offer, I gave a lift to 3 friends who do not have cars. We were delighted with everything - food was great, service good, liaison when ordering was helpful, the place was clean and warm. I am going to take a different carload each week while this offer lasts.

We booked here as it was close to Bristol and able to visit my wife's brother. On arrival we eventually met the receptionist and looking behind the counter I have never seen such dirty flooring. We were appointed room 19 and as we walked down the dirty lobby and past the hole in the carpet. On entering the room we could smell shake and vac. The room was clean, just one hole in the carpet. In the morning we got told breakfast was NOT included so we went out and returned for lunch with my brother in law and his wife. Where we sat the there was stains all over the walls and very unpleasant. We then went to visit friends and arrived back late only to find the key wouldn't open the door. We rang the bell no answer rang again no reply eventually 30 min later reception was answered and a very curt reply try it now. No apology or so sorry etc. Until this place gets a refurbishment and staff that acknowledge customer. we will not be returning to the Bridge Inn

Brill staff little girl asked for crayons to do some drawing whist waited as soft a lay was shut and the lady was fab with getting them and helping her questions where answered quickly and promptly and very polite happy and helpful member of staff

Have been twice over the last week and both times the food and service have been impeccable. At the ridiculously low prices you expect the food to be average at best but the fish served was as good as anything you get from the chippy and the other meals were of generous portions and all round very tasty. Have eaten out at a few places over the school half term and this place held up as good as any of them. With the additional soft play attached it even meant we got two periods of peace and quiet (I say that loosely) from little whilst she had a play. Great food, good staff and not a single complaint on anything for us. Thanks for some lovely meals and time away from our own kitchen

The Bridge Inn Absolutely disgusting. Had grandchildren and thought we would have a nice meal out along with the soft play area. Booked online and asked a question as not been here before. No reply! Arrived and walked in through soft play area where there were lots tables but not one clean one for us to sit on. Not at all clean, smelt and carpet seen better days. All tables had been used by previous customers but could see been sat there for a while and not one member of staff to be seen. Found our way to the restaurant where there were staff and walked past us several times but did not speak. As we had not been before we did not know how the restaurant operated. Did we just find a table? but upon looking they were all reserved. No one at the bar so as not impressed walked out. Obviously will not be returning. Im not usually one to complain or actually that fussy but this in my opinion was well below standards. A review in 2017 by someone else showed exactly the same so not much seemed to have changed. Shame as when my children were young loved our local pub with a soft play.

Perfect meal and perfectly cooked steak! Went out for a friends meet up and will definitely make it a regular thing here now. Brilliant food and drinks - served quickly!

I stayed 1 night with breakfast. The rooms while clean are very tired. The breakfast was less than average. The resturant surfaces were sticky and i had to fight the flies for my food. The place could do with a deep clean.

Loud music can be heard in room 1, feel like because we used a virgin experience voucher they’ve put us in the worst room in the hotel, feels like we’re staying inside someone’s cupboard. It’s dated, it’s noisy, there was an overwhelming smell of air freshener when we walked in which made me wonder what was being covered up. Bathroom needs DIY. Not very impressed.

We booked a table for 9 for a birthday meal and had a great time. Food all arrived close together without too much of a wait, and the quality and quantity was faultless.
