*Edit: my hubby and I returned 19/08/2023 for a cream tea and toasted tea cake and pot of tea. Top notch. The staff here are absolutely wonderful and equally was our food. My husband really enjoyed the homemade scones 😋 2021: My husband and I enjoyed a lovely pot of tea, toasted tea cake and a cream tea here today. I do appreciate cafes that automatically provide a pot of hot water, in addition to a pot of tea. Excellent customer service. Outside tables. Would definitely return.

Absolutely fantastic service the food was lovely and good value for money. Bought back lots of memories though as i used to go there about 35 yrs ago on family holidays. It's hasn't changed at all but in a good way. My grandad who's no longer with us used to it, The Chinese Restaurant 🙄🫣🤣. Definitely recommend and will return when we return.

Visiting from Wales had the fishcakes chips and peas all well cooked everything hot good portion size pleasant service and polite very good value for money and and wil use again when in Weston

Service was ok, and I was told they were understaffed. orderd cheese and onion omelette plenty of onion couldn't tell you if there was any cheese, also had to ask for an extra shot of coffee in my iced frappe!! still couldn't taste coffee an absolute steal at £4.95!!! And I only received half of my drink back! Don't even get me started on the watery ketchup 😒

My Tuna Mayo panini tasted low quality, it wasn't even a panini but a frozen baguette squashed on the grill, the texture was cheap tasting, and not great quality tuna. My BF had the bacon, chicken & cheese mayo panini and his bacon was incredibly salty aswell as similar feedback to poor taste due to low quality. The chocolate milkshake tasted off, perhaps down to the brand of chocolate they use, and the vanilla was over syrupy. Staff were friendly enough but would not come here again.

Service was good however they seemed to have brushed off the fact that there was no warning for bones being in the chicken, when it comes to the roast of the day! This should be clearly stated so that no one chokes!

Day out with familey i had chips peas jesus couldnt even see my peas i had to buy a magnifying glass to get them on the falk and chips needed a chain saw to get though them plus bad rip off cafe

Went here for a jacket potato today I nearly bloody died A jacket with beans and a cup of tea. £12.10 😡absolutely disgusting price Where do you warrant charging that for a jacket potato and a cup of tea

Came to Weston for my birthday and had a lovely full English breakfast. Food was delicious and service friendly and bubbly.

I visit with my mum n partner, always a lovley welcoming greeting . Been there 5 times ,can't fault the place ! Fantastic food drinks ,good service, can get busy, a good sign of a popular place . As with anywhere being patient and nice often helps, Have no qualms about the service, staff , decor etc. It's easy to pick fault. I can only highly recommend .

This place used to be good.. but its gone seriously down hill with higher prices. The service was awful, we were ignored by serving staff, when I finally approached them I was fine acknowledged. I got an overpriced stingy ham and cheese with no cheese in it. When I asked for cheese was given an attitude. Then given cheap indrinkable instant coffee and charged the price of a real coffee. This place is a total rip off, with zero standards and no care for people spending hard earned money in there. Stay well clear.

A great place to eat. We popped in for coffee initially + a piece of really tangy lemon meringue pie. We were so impressed that we returned later for lunch and had two delicious omelettes followed by wonderful pancakes. The lady there was lovely - very friendly and welcoming, a big smile and nothing too much trouble. We were only in Weston for 3 days but went back again for coffee + more pancakes!! Hoping for the knickerbocker glory if we visit Weston again!!!!

4 of us went for coffee & cake before a show at the playhouse. One icecream, 3 cakes, 3 lattes £30! Cakes were bland, chocolate was sprinkled on carrot cake without asking, Person who ordered the cake is allergic to chocolate so had to swap with another person for a very soggy Victoria sponge slice, lattes were basically black coffee with a bit of foam on top, strong enough to stand a sooon up, Staff miserable looking and quite rude. Will never go again nor recommend, wish we had walked 3 shops along to Greggs. Had to give 1/5 as no option for zero.

This restaurant has certainly gone down hill since my last visit. Food was very poor, expensive for what it was. Really wish we had gone elsewhere. Very dark & dingy looking inside, the toilets are unisex, with a hand written note on the door knock before entry. Once door is open immediately faced with a row of urinals, & 1 toilet, which the door doesn't shut properly. Absolutely disgusting for a restaurant. Definitely would not recommend.

We ordered a chicken nuggets with chips and peas and a small breakfast my peas were uncooked and nuggets were cold in the middle, the chips have a horrible taste and the coke was horrible it wasn’t Diet Coke it tasted like cola. I’m really disappointed as we have paid 25£ for this and it was vile we have left with a bad tummy.

Veggie burger and a cheese burger. 35 quid! Water pouring through ceiling, honked of damp. Really run down. Food actually awful. Toilets were scary.

We popped in for some lunch, it was busy and the girl was working the front of house on her own due to a coworker being off poorly. She kept things running smoothly and juggled the many things going on, welcoming customers, taking orders, bringing food and drinks, clearing tables, taking payments, she took it all in her stride and was comfortable keeping the customers updated and engaged, she is a credit to the great Gardens name. It was a pleasure to visit today, the atmosphere was great.

Yummy cheesy chips and a lovely toastie. Good proper coffee and reasonably priced. Would love to try the breakfast. This place needs to be in the spotlight more as its hidden off the main drag, please do give it a go

I came here for lunch with my daughter in the run-up to Christmas. We both had toasted cheese panini, mine with chutney, hers with red onion. Both came with salad and crisps. All very nice. The waitress was very enthusiastic, efficient and jolly. Toilets OK.

This was an awful experience! Waited over 20 minutes to take our order and over 35 minutes after to be served!! Waitress was very moody and just banged on orders on the table and the food not so good also. Took nearly an hour to order and receive our food without a smile …. Shame as been there before and always nice .. not sure what happened today!! Really bad

The coffee was a bit weak and far too hot but the cleanliness of the seats and tables was first class. Needs a bit of upgrading to improve the atmosphere.

Absolutely brilliant! We arrived late on a Sunday afternoon and we ordered quite a complicated choice of food, all 9f which was taken by a waitress who was patient, kind and had a great sense of humor. The food quickly arrived, and was scrummy!! Many thanks for making our afternoon.......we would certainly recommend.

We had a lovely table in the window. The service was fast and the waitress was extremely enthusiastic. My husband's small English breakfast was fine. I enquired whether the vegetarian sausages were vegan and the waitress said they would be, as they are made out of vegetables. I should have clicked them ,as I've been served this type of 'sausage' in the past. They're the cheapest, catering mush available: a squishy mix of peas, potatoes etc in batter. I tried drowning them in ketchup, but it didn't help and I left them. There are so many delicious vegan sausages around nowadays and it's such a pity to spoil an expensive breakfast.

Handed a very tatty menu with various prices changes made in pen. Can you not print and laminate new ones? Food was distinctly average at best. I would suggest fewer items on the menu with better quality food. It is my usual place to eat when I visit Weston super Mare but I don't think I will be eating there again. Oh, and why is there no disabled toilet?

Had a so called chicken and bacon painni with BBQ sauce. No BBQ sauce. Chicken was fatty and barely warm clearly reheated and not fully so dangerous. I didn't eat it. My partner had a awful.cheese and onion roll. Was not the best. They didn't even take it off the bill. I left furious. Please avoid. Over priced as well. Staff are lovely not thier fault at all I do feel for them. Better café called stones not far away

AVOID. Tourist trap! They tried to provide sandwich with weird rice cracker type things instead of chips.When confronted they apologised and said they’d run out of chips (midday) and the waitresses should have told us!?! They offered some reduction and gave us they bill. The bill took £1.50 from one sandwich as a reduction but was still full price for the other 2 sandwiches that also came with no chips. When confronted again they were argumentative and reluctantly reduced cost for the other 2 sandwiches. In addition sandwiches weren’t that nice and still after reduction they were still around £5. Also the Cumberland sausages were a cheap bill buy breakfast sausage. The waitresses were nice. Unfortunately for the waitresses they probably wont have a job soon. MANAGEMENT/OWNER NEEDS A REALITY CHECK. If the manager wasn’t the owner she should be sacked.

Stopped here for lunch. Food was good. Service friendly and efficient. I had a jacket potato with tuna/ mayonnaise. Very good snd good portion size. One of my companions had a scone with jam and cream. She said it was a delicious, home made, fresh out the oven scone. The decor could do with updating but i rather liked the retro feel to it. I would definitely go back there to eat.

Wouldn’t bother, trying to charge for lunch with items missing, when pointed out they re jigged the receipt and took off £1.50 - three meals were missing items. Sausages advertised as Cumberland were standard cheap ones and coleslaw per meal came out as one small pot between 3!!!!!

All 4 of us enjoyed our different meals which were well priced. The Waitresses were welcoming and friendly and very easy to look at!! The weather was not good so the restaurant was quite quiet.

Avoid this cafe if I were you , the women that had a green clip in her hair and who had Chavy Nike air trainers on with horrid short shorts was extremely loud shouting across the room being rude and not getting the correct things people and I asked for. The breakfast was awful really fatty bacon Poundland sausages just all rank the apple juice is not apple juice it’s a cordial mixed with water and ice I barely drank it. I would not recommend this cafe to anyone I know the worst one Iv been to in a while it’s like being at Karen’s diner.

We're to begin, the younger female waitress are very kind and professional, that's were the good bits end, the manager seems to consistently scream across the cafe non stop, clearly can't manage anything as is rushing around flustering trying to do everything but getting it all wrong. In our visiting seen many people have issues as well, people besides us orders 4 milkshakes and received 2 straws.... When asked for obviously 2 more there just slammed on the table by the manager as they walk past. With our order asked if we want ketchup by manager we say yes and it never arrives as taking new orders is her priority. Food is not good at all. I'm not a fussy person at all but if you like soggy with grease fries bread, 90% fat in your bacon and Tesco value awfull sausages then this is up your street. The young waitress that served us was the only nice part. Food, manger will be the reason this cafe will eventually close as reading others reviews no one is comfortable with her in here. Makes such a hostile atmosphere..... Manager is also in chavvy denim shorts and Nike trainers while everyone else is dressed professional...

I ordered the breakfast that boasted Cumberland sausages, and they weren't. At best, they were TESCO value sausages. My wife gad the 2 scone cream tea. They only put 1 scone on the plate. We pointed this out, and they took it back. When they brought it back out, they had added just 1 spoon of jam extra but the same amount of cream. The scones were microwaved and hot.

I have been coming to this restaurant for Over 10 years when we visit Weston. Todays visit was terrible. From being greeted by a girl shouting for I’m the other side of the restaurant telling us to take a seat to the music being played, which was the Ghostbusters theme tune. Our visit was beyond disappointing. They had clearly had a price increase because it was written on the very scruffy menus in pen, the knives and the forks are worn and very dated. when our order arrived, the trays were thrown on the table and left for us to sort out among us. The lasagna that I had ordered, had clearly been microwaved as it was hard on the bottom and has been smudged over the plate with chips stuck on the side. My husband‘s food was cold. The presentation of the food was terrible. The value of the food was not worth what we paid and in times like this if you are going to eat out then it needs to be value for money, but I have to be honest I’ve had better microwave meals than I had today massively disappointed and will never return.

Came here today with my mom as was the only cafe with lots of spare seats , now I know why! Ordered bowl of chips, not the best. Sausage sarnie but they had buttered the bread so was soggy. Had to wait ages while the staff took forever to serve us, too busy shouting & up & down cafe but not doing much! Even had to wait ages for boss to take money while other staff doing nowt in kitchen. Won't come here again.

I am not impressed with Gardens Cafe. I ordered a small breakfast which was too expensive for the few items that was offered and had to pay an extra £2.95 for a small portion of mushrooms. I ordered a pot of tea which was only half filled with water. The apple pie was ok but the custard was not as hot as it should have been. I don't think I will be eating here again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Not bad but not the best. Had the full english. Plenty of it but everything was a little bland. The sausage let the side down though. It was one of those low end, low flavour deals, probably from the freezer. For £10 it could have been better. With a better quality sausage it would have definitely been a 4 star breakfast. Coffee excellent.

First time ever I have felt compelled to write a bad review about any restaurant. My husband and I ordered the roast chicken expecting a good old home-cooked roast with plenty of veg and roast potatoes. Sadly this was not the case. The chicken breast was dry and the veg and roast potatoes sadly lacking (2 very small roast potatoes, not very well cooked, and a tablespoon of cabbage with a few peas) The meal was extremely overpriced for the size and quality of the food. When asked by the waitress if we were happy with our meal I let her know that we weren't and we came away feeling very sorry that we had chosen to have lunch at The Gardens restaurant. Needless to say, we won't be returning or recommending it.

The Gardens restaurant is a Great place to eat. As a supporter of local businesses I often eat there. There is a great selection on the menu. The food and service is excellent. Over the last few months it has been noticeable that the prices have been going up, however this is to be expected so some meals are now becoming rather expensive. Some "extras" do appear slightly over priced. However the food quality is amazing and the service is great, it's just a shame that the prices are rising

Such a different experience from the last time we visited this restaurant. This time there was only 3 tables with customers and we were seated on one of them!! It took 1/2hr to get one sandwich and a toasted tea cake, we’d actually finished our drink’s And OMG it was so cold inside not very inviting I’ll definitely leave it awhile before I return.

Very bad experience here today very loud waitress served us shouting from one end to the other. Chips poor frozen no taste ham I left tasted funny so I left it peas hard. When we paid I told the member of staff about the ham, she said I've just had a compliment how lovely it was. Very expensive and rubbish food wish I'd gone to greggs.

Really disappointed. Milkshake over 4 pounds, was tiny. Cheese and onion panini barely had the thinnest bit of cheese, and what looked like old bit of onion in. Used to be good and I know times are tough but really? Not even a bit of side salad just tiny old coleslaw and some stale crisps on the side.

Went here for lunch for the first time and it was perfect as I had the Angus burger which I've never had before and it was amazing friendly staff and clean and tidy and didn't wait too long for our meal's and drink's I would recommend this to anyone they also do vegetarian food as well

A good place to have a nice cup of tea

We asked for 2 iced Americanos, we got 2 cold but not iced instant coffees and got charged £5.60. They seem to have a commercial coffee machine, so I don't understand why we were served instant coffee. It also tasted horrible, so we just left it and got a proper coffee elsewhere.

Popped in for a breakfast before heading home and time was a premium. Ordered a full English which was excellent and was prepared very quickly.

Really expensive for the food provided

As soon as we went in we asked for a glass of water. I also asked for DRY bread instead of fried bread. She couldn't get her head around this and gave me toast. Never got the glass of water. Food was served on Cold plates. The air conditioning unit was right overhead and on full, made the food even colder. The best thing about this place was the pot of tea. Won't be going back there again 😕

I've been coming here over the years - a presence in Weston Super Mare for more years than I care to remember. My brother had the home made fights with mash, peas and gravy and I had a roast chicken dinner. Lovely!

DO NOT GO THERE!!!! Popped in for lunch with 3 under 6's. Extortionate prices, inedible tuna sandwich which was returned. £2 per small glass of watery orange squash. Total bill £36.45 for 2 sandwiches (hardly any filling), 3 small glasses of squash, 2 cokes and 2 small plates of cold chips. If I could give no stars I would. Felt sorry for the staff - no owner/management on site to speak/complain too. Lesson learnt.... JUST DON'T GO THERE....
