Tingle Shooter Bar & Cafe in Glasgow City

This place is awful. Booked online as advertised a courtyard for drinks. Filthy, offered seats facing a black wall. Tables were filthy and sticky. Toilets were beyond disgusting not even a toilet seat. Left before we even ordered drinks.

9 of us went here and had reserved a table in the courtyard. There were two benches and a few stools around the table. We had been there for a while and many members of staff had walked past us etc. then a male came out the doors next to our table and demanded we move a stool as it was blocking the fire exit!this stool had been there when we arrived and made very little difference to the "fire exit". Rude and agressive in manner and we wouldn't go to this bar again.

Waitress / Bar Manager with ginger hair, low rise cargo pants was extremely rude on our visit, demanding us to leave our table despite it stating it was free til 1845 (this was at 1630), no warning, made a face when we moved. Should not be working in a customer service facing role and will not be back following this experience on my first visit.

Drinks are very cheap which is great, however we came at around 10pm when it was quite busy and half of the 'shooters' we ordered were given incorrectly, looked like a mix n match of all the different ones they had available, but not actually the ones we paid for. Ended up waiting about 30 minutes for the drinks as well which was quite frustrating considering it wasn't even cocktails or anything like that. The staff are generally friendly but think everyone is slightly too relaxed, half of them had no masks on or were wearing it on their chins which doesn't really make sense. In addition, the mens WC had sick all over the floor and cubicle, which I reported to one staff member but he joked that I should just tell this to another colleague as he didn't want to clean it up himself I guess (bit of a weird thing to say to a customer). Music choice was very good but very very loud so it was hard to hear each other talk.

Me and my friends got attacked with ice for no reason. My friend bleeded in his face. Security and crew did’nt do anything about it. We decided to leave to protect ourselves

Hello, Unfortunately, we were physically abused during our visit. Other guests were throwing ice cubes at us for no apparent reason. We tried to calm them down. However, this did not work. They kept throwing ice cubes at us, until someone had heavily bleeding lips. We tried to call security, they did not help us at all. Even though they noticed how severe the situation was. After all, we had to leave the pub for our own safety. Because no one helped us inside at all. Kind regards, Max Bongertman

Nipped in for a quick drink before hitting the merchant city. Utter guff. The staff are abrupt, rude and clueless. Place was empty and as we didn’t have a booking we’re sat in the lane on a stool. Two strawberry daiquiris were basically two slush puppies with a bit of vodka in it. We sent these back as they were tasteless. We then had to ask the waitress what was to happen next as 20mins went by without the offer of refund or exchange. The place is full of teenagers who might enjoy a slush puppy mind you. We won’t be back.

We had planned to visit Tingle as part of a group booking and had arranged that even though the table bookings had been made over a staggered timeframe, that we could all arrive together. Upon arrival, our table had been given away to a group of 8 and our party of 21 turned away. The manager David, was rude and condescending and had a complete disregard for customer service and a total lack of any understanding. Whilst we were offered a table inside, this would split the group, which is obviously not what we wanted or had pre arranged with the venue. In the end we all left and went to Ross’s bar across the road, which was absolutely brilliant; we had a ball and staff were amazing! 5 minutes after we left the group who had taken our original booking also left, so had only stayed for half hour anyway. A complete shambles. Pics look cute on Instagram, but it wasn’t all that in there anyway. Glad we left!

We visited the tingle bar as a block booking of 21 .. we’d flown up first the weekend from wales . When we got there we were told that we couldn’t be seated together and that there was a table inside for 6 and the rest of us would be seated outside to which we protested as obviously we had he party games and wanted to be sat together as booked and had paid a deposit .the poor girl on the door was flummoxed and called the absolute jobsworth who was proudly stating that he was the “manager”.. a term I use Loosely as I doubt he could manage much at all . He point blankly refused to move the six people who’d been placed on our table and pretty much said it was tough.. he’d rather turn us all away than move the party of 6 to the table he was trying to palm us off with.. after an exchange of heated words we decided to abandon ship and move to Ross”s bar across the way who were more than happy to accommodate us.. we spent an absolute fortune in the bar over the road.. suffice to say that if this is how he “manages” his bar then his career in hospitality is going to be short lived .. Glasgow has been immense but the tingle bar.. we’ll suffice to say.. would never recommend any party to spend time there.. rude management and poor people skills.. avoid avoid avoid! If your looking for a great pub with a fantastic welcome who are happy to look after you then head across to Ross’s bar.. tingle bar we spent an absolute fortune .. your loss!

Absolutely loved it!!! Rachel made us feel so we on and was a great waitress would definitely recommend due to the atmosphere created by all waitresses

Waited about 15-20mins for drinks to arrive before being told we had to leave. Weren't allowed to drink our purchased cocktails and orders after the long wait so gave almost £40 for nothing. Wouldn't allow us to take plastic cups or any other option considering there were other tables available for 5mins to be used. Worst kind of service I've seen in a bar ever.

first time at this bar, very affordable prices, great choice of shots, the bouncer was decent guy, the bar staff very friendly, easy to get served compared to many other bars ive been to, good friendly atmosphere in the bar, thoroughly enjoyed my time and i will defo be back.

Can't really go wrong with Tingle, always had a great time and will continue to return. Shots and drinks are great and cheap and the food is decent and cheap too. Spend a certain amount and if there is more than 4 in your group, you get free pizza which definitely helps balance the drink, and it was pretty good too. The mozzarella sticks were absolutely fantastic however, so I urge everyone who comes to order a portion! Never had an issue with the staff, however I have to agree with some other reviews on here regarding the security at night, they could certainly be doing being brought down a peg or 2. Just be prepared for how rammed it gets at night - it gets VERY cosy...

its always going to be a good night at tingle. came here after visiting the new one in stirling. the range of shots is fab and theyre priced well.

Mi hija, mi sobrina y algunos amigos estaban aquí alrededor de las 11. Anoche, a las 40 de la tarde, pasándolo muy bien para el cumpleaños número 18 de mi hija. Mi sobrina salió por unos minutos 2 fumando cuando fue brutalmente atacada por 4 chicas grandes que sufrió heridas en la cara, la cabeza y el cuello. Mi hija escuchó una pelea y fue a ver a su prima siendo pateada y golpeada en el piso. Ella trató de ayudar y también fue brutalmente atacada. Apeló a los guardias en busca de ayuda y se rió de ella. Esto es totalmente inaceptable sin mencionar el terrible comportamiento de los porteros. ¿Hay un deber de cuidado? Sé que podrían mitigar estos ataques regularmente aunque se burlaran y se rieran cuando dos niñas fueron filmadas por varios niños afuera. Mi compañero y yo hemos estado en Tingle varias veces juntos y con amigos. Si bien no diría que es el mejor lugar para beber en Glasgow, siempre ha sido una visita satisfactoria.Paramos a tomar algo antes de ir a casa recientemente y ¡no volveremos! Uno de los servidores del bar fue increíblemente grosero y abusivo para mí, ya que dije que el servicio no era excelente. Great place. Came with my husband Rodney a few weeks ago. Got proper smashed on Frozen cocktails and don't remember leaving LOL. What a treat and mental night. Some place xxx

We had a fantastic night here in January, it was such a laugh and a really fun atmosphere. We had a quite a few drinks (haha) some nicer than others...but that's the point ;) Thank you tingle, will be back!

I have been twice and the first time the drink I had was nice. The 2nd one was tropical with a lumpy cookies and cream liquer plus they play Pingu on the TV. We are not kids. Plus my friend said they was one of those women that you get a club making her pay for stuff. It was just very weird.

Seen some terrible reviews of this place but always had a great time and never had any issues. Been here often and the drinks are fantastically priced and the shots are all awesome. Loudish music too to kick off a night out. Perfect pre drink bar.

No hay estacionamiento, estacionamiento en la calle, pero no encontrará estacionamiento super cerca ya que este lugar está ubicado en un callejón pequeño.

How is this place still allowed to stay opwmed. The bouncers only ever let young girls in if your sixteen your more likely to get in than a 30 year old we went in and we were allowed in after one drink the bouncer told one of our party over fourty that they alone had to leave this is disgusting how is it acceptable on this day and age to judge woman based on Thier looks and age to base anyone on that tbh

Go here on every night out I have in Glasgow! The prices are great, the variety of drinks is excellent and there is always a buzzing atmosphere

Came to tingle on Friday night for a few drinks. We were a group of 5 and completely sober. As we approached, the doorman said to the other "should we let them in" and then when we got to the door the bouncer asked if we had a table booked (seemed like he already made up his mind he wasnt letting us in) When we said he no, he made up a bundle of excuses for not letting us in and tried to say the bar was too busy which is laughable because it was dead. Then told us to come back in half an hour and it might be "quieter". I have been plenty times before with a small group of friends and it has never been an issue, especially on a night as quiet as that friday - not to mention as we walked away people were then let in after us. If you want to have a good night, don't waste your time with this place, plenty other great bars in Glasgow that dont have door staff that behave like that.

Bar totalmente evitables, lugares y mucho mejor en la ciudad quien altas boy en la puerta fue, hizo un buen bar anteriormente un enorme le perjudica. Has perdido un grupo de leales clientes.

Very nice cocktails to share as well as some unique shots to try recommend going at least once to see if its your thing. Not much food but what we had was okay but nothing special.

Como todos los años en Tingle, estoy decepcionado de tener que darle a este lugar una mala crítica. Fui con mi amigo el domingo 11 de enero y era obvio que el chico que servía estaba borracho o algo o simplemente estaba espaciado. Cuando volví al bar, el gorila estaba sirviendo, que era muy agradable y servicial, pero el pobre chico necesitaba que le señalara todos los disparos ya que no sabía qué era qué. No estoy seguro de por qué el gorila estaba sirviendo, pero podría ser porque el tipo "espaciado" tomó una llamada telefónica personal, en el bar, sobre lo duro que era ya que había salido hasta las 5 de la mañana, mientras que la chica que trabajaba tomó un perro detrás de la barra y se quedó posando para fotos con el perro mientras se formaba una cola en el bar y tuvimos que esperar diez minutos para que esta gente terminara de jugar con los perros / atendiendo llamadas personales. Por qué en la Tierra había un perro detrás de la barra está más allá de mí; la salud y la higiene me suenan. El nivel de servicio al cliente que he descrito es absolutamente espantoso y, como soy un bar que me encanta, estoy realmente decepcionado. Creo que alguien necesita hablar con el personal aquí, ya que definitivamente lo pensaré dos veces antes de regresar.

I have been to this bar on a number of occasions, always at the suggestion of other people, and not once have I enjoyed it.

Tingle is a bar I've always heard about but never visited so we ended up going for a friend's birthday. The shots are as strange and weirdly named as people claimed. That night my friends and I consumed a micheal Jackson, a bush tucker trial, a sour puss and plenty more. All were consumed (except the worms but that can't be helped)

This is an A-Must place to go for a drink ,atmosphere is excellent plenty craic,staff very friendly and polite,very reasonable prices ,was served by a young lady called Laura she gave us advice on where to visit/go in the daytime what to see etc,very knowledgeable of Glasgow as she is not from here,we found out she is a budding actress to be and is from the hometown of Karen Gillan a famous actress ,back to the bar try the shots theres plenty to choose from very reasonable prices great atmosphere and service

Was in on an friends afternoon out in Glasgow, there's not much to say about this place, drinks reasonably priced and fab if u want shots, many various concoctions!

This place does some really good cocktails for only £3.50; even on a Friday and Saturday which is rare in the city centre. It is mostly a younger crowd but not exclusively so; although certainly tailored to it (seen in the music, student prices and offers). All the staff I encountered were friendly and very quick at making drinks. They also serve food quite late which is a bonus but on this occasion I didn't try any. Location can be a bit off putting as it's down a dark lane but easy enough to find and usually lots of people milling about.

I've been here a few times and enjoyed it, but the doorman could do with some major customer service training, attitude stinks, won't visit again

I had dinner with my friend and decided go Tingle for a drinks.The big and the cause of my stupid experience were the "Door Man".They didnt let us go in because " I don't need to tell you a reason". Okay man... I am security in Spain, i am not okay with no reason.I asked ¿Am i drunk, under drugs, possesion of drugs, under age, are my clothes wrong?¿what's the capacity of the bar, is it busy?...etc I could ask for ages and never get and answer. Okay Tingle, if the door man are in a bad mood or they're bold, this is not the problem of the costumers.I had no a bad experience, simply a stupid experience.

Always try go here when in Glasgow with friends. Good choice of cocktails and shots and all great value! Always a good atmosphere too. Toilets aren't the best! Had a bit of an issue when I was in last time with the back being missing from the seats we were at and my top being badly caught. The first member of staff I informed wasn't interested and just said he knew that it was broke!!!! Second guy was very apologetic he fixed the seats and gave us some free drinks.

I have been here on numerous occasions throughout the years, and have always had a great time. The french martinis are lovely and the various different kind of shots are good fun to try.I have also been in for lunches such as soup and the prices are good too.

Myself and a few friends came to tingle one night. We got refused at the door because I had "shorts" on which we accepted to be there house rule. When deciding where next to go, we observed the door staff proceed to let in 3 girls in shorts (if you could call them shorts). I then asked why i wasn't allowed in again and he repeated no shorts. You can't pick and chose who you let in by what they look like which is what I am guessing happened. And they were dungarees I was wearing not shorts.

Hired the upstairs for my birthday, but due to bad traffic was about 5 minutes late which i called ahead to inform them about and was assured that it was fine. upon arrival I was ignored and left standing round having been mislead that a member of staff was helping me but sat down to chat to some friends. When I tried to complain to the manager, he was extremely rude and unhelpful and practically sent me out. Never been so insulted in my whole life. Disgusting customer service.

Had as much fun choosing our shots as we did drinking them .this was my first visit to Tingle and I'm sure it won't be my last .Cheap ,cheerful and fun .

I went here with my partner and a few friends for the first time in July with no idea what to expect. The bar is small and it is cramped and it is busy so if you want to grab some food and a seat I would go earlier in the day. The food here is incredible and so well priced for a bar( never mind the fact it is in city centre). The drinks are well priced too and have some fantastic cocktails but more importantly, an extensive list of what must be close to 50 different shooters! Some for the first timers and some are definitely for the dare Devils among us! I cannot wait to go back here at the end of the month

Worth a visit if you're a student as the lunch deal is cheap but the food is great, drinks and shots are all extremely tasty and cheap, but sometimes the bar can be extremely loud and rowdy so it depends when you go and what atmosphere you're looking for! Been multiple times and never had a bad experience!

The food is always amazing and the drinks are great too, the price is amazing too! Great place for students or if you want a nice relaxed lunch/dinner.

I visited this pub with my friends and it was awful.The bar service was extremely poor and I would not recommend this place to anyone going out to celebrate .A dark dingy wee pub in the back streets of the main Buchannan Street. Please take my advise and don't give this place a try,.....it's awful...

Will not return to this bar. We approached the bar only to be told if you haven't booked a table your not getting in. I then called the bar manager to book , however he then informed me that no you don't need to have a table booked to get in. However the bouncer still insisted we could not get in. The group of girls behind us who also didn't have a table booked were allowed in. Think this is discrimination and I WILL NOT RETURN

Great price for drinks and food atmosphere. Staff were extremely pleasant. Only fault is the toilets which could do with being redone as doors don't have a lock!

Had lunch and some cocktails in Tingle recently with some friends, we were really impressed by the price of the meal deal and the size of the portions. For a starter, a main meal, a non alcoholic drink and a frozen daiquiri it came to under £10! A total steal. The staff were friendly enough to, the one thing I would say is that it would be beneficial if the premises was bigger. I personally feel the bar to be quite compact! Will be back in the future!

I went here with a group of 8 others, so 9 in total, and I was genuinely surprised at how cheap it was. We spent around £29 on the first round of drinks and that included a shot for 7 people and a drink for everyone else. On top of that, it we got 4 free pizzas as they offer free pizza to groups of 4 people and over and they tasted brilliant.The only downfall I'd say that Tingle has is that it is quite small inside, we went on a Tuesday during the day so I would imagine it would be heaving at busy times.The shot selection is very varied and tasted brilliant. I will definitely be back at some point and recommend that you try it.

Great for what it is - cheap shots, lively atmosphere, friendly door staff. The bartenders have a straightforward remit (mixing shots) but they do it incredibly slickly and efficiently, even if a few of them do quite surly / more interested chatting among themselves than serving customers. The food here is okay, and some locks on the ladies toilets would be nice, but this is first and foremost a place to get disgustingly drunk, and it enables its patrons well.

I have been into Tingle many times for drinks before heading to clubs but only recently have been in during the day.We ordered some Nachos, garlic bread, Mac n' cheese and a wrap. Most mains where around £5 with some great deal on as well. We where happily surprised at the the large quantity of food that arrived at our table struggling to finish everything. The food was excellent and extremely good value for money. Tingle is a great place for student or anyone on a budget to eat but be aware you need to be 18 to even eat in at lunch. So bring some ID.

Great place to go for value food and drinks. We are mature folks who ear young at heart and just love going in to this bar between Monday and Thursday where a vodka and coke is £1.00 shots much more and food for under a fiver. FANTASTIC!!!!!

I love tingle, I wish we had one in Edinburgh! There's so many shots and considering they're only £1.50, you can try loads. Cocktails are really good and are only about £3/4. My friends and I always visit when we're in Glasgow! Or we atleast try to, sometimes it's too busy to get in. Music is good too and so is the food.

I was out with my daughter and daughter in law for some food and we popped in to tingle after . During day and early evening the ages are quite mixed . I imagine this is due to the fact that it is really cheap. Obviously there are loads of different shots and there are great cocktails as well. The staff are very friendly and super efficient . The only down side is the fact it's quite dirty. The tables were sticky and we had to clean them with wipes and the toilet/ toilet area is basically boggin . Pity as its a great Wee bar and the young crowd love it

My friends and I had a night out planned & we thought we would go to tingle as its in a central location, once we got in we were astonished at how nice & friendly the bar staff were, the selection of drinks that were on offer to us & most importantly the prices were all cheap! It has a great atmosphere inside and tables are all around to have a sit down if you wanted, there is a variety of music that is played to suit all genres of people & the list of shots made it an fun, enjoyable night for all! We all found the bar staff incredibly helpful and cheery as it was very busy plus they were always up for a laugh which made a difference! We had a table booked for a birthday night out and were refused entry at 7.30 for to many guys being already in the bar.To be met at the door by which looked like a homeless guy, just told us straight away no as there were to many guys in the bar already. We try to explain we had reserved a table and it was a birthday night and we had just arrived in Glasgow. He was more interested in his apple than trying to resolve the situation.Anyway, got in every other pub no problem.

What a dingy place. I felt very uncomfortable for most of my visit here with the male members of staff making it clear what their intentions were. In particular an older staff member and I who believe is the manager or owner was behaving in a very unprofessional way with the younger female member of bar staff. I will not be returning to this establishment

Good price shots with a massive variety of choices. Average about £1.50 each. Good atmosphere and you get free pizza for groups of 4 or more... result! Pub is pretty small & toilets are pretty poor however. I would visit again though.

An awesome little shot bar. Great concept & choice of drinks.Great prices too, especially on weekdays!Food offered there too.If you love a venue that is always quite busy & has an atmosphere you'll love it.I wish there were more places like this!

Good vodka cokes. Would come back. Too many yahoos however. Best to visit as early in the day as possible otherwise too busy

Been here few times with friends ... They got a really vast selection of shooters for really good value of money ... Best place to go for few shots before your night kicks on !!!

While some complain about bouncers, if you get here early enough it shouldn't be a problem getting in.The extensive shots menu is most definitely worth a shot. It can be easy to get hooked once you get started.Only downside is that this place shuts at 12. Ideal for getting your night started but not for any longer.

went here Saturday night got refused entry and was only the second place we visited been before and had no probs need to sort out the door staff very rude and when questioned why we couldn't go in we were told not tonight terrible treatment

Cheap and cheerful and food of a much higher standard than one would expect for such a reasonable price. 4.50 for a chicken mayo wrap, a bowl of brocolli and apple soup and a latte. Food was so tasty and service was relaxed and great.

We have been to Tingle before & had a short but good few drinks. We decided to go again recently, perfectly sober only to be told we couldn't get in as there were to many blokes (6 sober ones at 7pm). I've heard this excuse before so kind of expected it but the irony on this particular occasion is tingle is situation below a lap dancing so they should be aware of the clientele they will get!

Plenty of different shots to try, they do a great lunch deal too! Spent many afternoons in here and never had a bad thing to say about the place

Me and my friends go often for drinks and it's so cheap and great for what you get. Shots are £1.50, drinks £2.50 and cocktails £3.50.. pretty good since most places are £6 for a cocktail. The staff are also very friendly. Overall great for drinks.

Avoid at all costs, doormen won't gain you access unless you're around the 16 mark due to "students only" Will never be returning again!

Came here recently for lunch and partook on their lunch deal - soup, wrap and drink for £4.50 (there is a variety of things you can pick and choose from on this deal this is just what I had). It food was really good (the wrap was a little oily and dripped on to my trousers which I was not pleased with but overall it was good). Compared with the first time I came for evening cocktails I enjoyed this experience far more because it was nice and quiet and I could actually have a conversation with the person I was dining with. would definitely come back for this deal.

Tingle is always jam packed any time I have been which is usually a thurs/fri/sat night and for this reason I would not recommend for a night out but always great for a last stop for some shots before hitting a club! The range of shots they do is amazing - there's even one with a maggot in it (the bushtucker trial).

Towards the end of a great day out in Glasgow we happened upon Tingle and Jamie, the least customer focused doorman you'll ever meet. With a bevy of drunken youths outside we were denied access. Aged 35-45, the four of us were obviously too old for the image of this classy joint. I took my friend here who was up visiting for food and drinks. We had been sitting quietly enjoying our drinks for an hour or so. I went to the bar again to get more drinks when I was met by the manager who then refused to sell me anymore. Instead he poured out my drink infront of everyone announcing I was not to be served as I was drinking alone. I assured him I had been here since 6.30pm with my friend upstairs, that we have been eating aswell. He continued on in the most rude way that he did not believe me and I would not be served again. What made this worse was that the other members of staff who hadbrought our food and served us drinks where just stood there... never have I ever been treated like this in my life. for a small cramped bar the service is disgusting! !!!

Just discovered this bar roughly 2 weeks ago or so. Fantastic food, especially the Teriyaki stake burger and salad and the Greek style salad. Soooo tasty. All the other food like chips, nachos etc. are good too, but if your wanting something to make your taste buds say "ooohhhhhh" then defiantly get the Teriyaki foods.Tingle also sells chocolate fudge cake, not tried that yet but im defiantly going too. Away from food, they sell alcohol. Shots are £1.50 and cocktails £3.50. Shark bite is fantastic.The staff are friendly, always having a laugh with each other when I go in.The bar is located on Mitchell Street next to Diamond Dolls strip club or gentleman's club if you prefer to say it that way. The only down thing about it is the toilets. They are ok but not somewhere Id like to stand and chat with the girls.
