We were looking for a sit in coffee and stayed for a quick lunch. Looked like the best in the area. The toasties were really nice. Good atmosphere. Tintin posters on the wall were a bonus.

I used to like the Tin Can, great coffee, cakes, and chilled surroundings / atmosphere. However, on the last 3 occasions I have experienced a constant bombardment of what appear to be fruit flies. These are not only on the cakes behind the counter but especially at the tables. I have been constantly using my hand to try and make them go away to no avail which isn’t very relaxing. I had to resort to putting my sourced over my cup to prevent them landing on or in it as it was impossible to concentrate on doing anything else and therefore not a relaxing experience at all. Could the owner please address the issue. There is clearly an issue someone to attract them in terms of rubbish or storage. Thank you

Came here with my girlfriend on a Sunday morning. She suggested it as she’d heard the coffee was good. I was a little disappointed with the variety on the menu, basically just sandwiches and kedgeree. I thought I’d try the kedgeree but it turned out that wasn’t available, so I looked back towards to sandwiches. I couldn’t quite believe the prices. £8 for and egg sandwich, £8.50 for sausage. Had I been on my own I’d have made a discreet exit, but I wasn’t, so I took a deep breath and tapped my card. £23 for two coffees and two sandwiches. Now you can get a lot more for that money across the road, but I tried to keep an open mind in the hope that I was paying for a better experience. And to some extent I got one. The sandwiches were very good. Excellent bread. The coffee was also great. I’m not a connoisseur but even I could appreciate it was quality coffee. It’s also a nicely decorated room. One downside, had to ask for sauce - I think when you order a sausage sandwich they should ask you red or brown. As we finished I realised why they can charge the premium. All the tables were taken and a queue was starting form. In sum, I’d say come here for the coffee, leave the food. Even the worlds best two eggs and best two slices of bread aren’t worth £8.

Coffee shop with food options which you rarely can try because 3/4 of the tables are occupied by “one cup of coffee and MacBook”s who root there for hours making it unavailable even to try and wait for a table. Would be nice if owners would consider saving some tables for people who actually bring money, I am sure you already have enough pictures in Insta.

Mmmm, if it’s mid afternoon in this student, hipster area, and you are after a coffee, it can be a challenge. We had come to seek out some of the local names which get a lot of publicity. But several had closed early with signs up apologising - it’s a long way to come for this kind of variation from advertised opening hours. Fortunately this place hadn’t closed early and was firing on all cylinders, looking after its customers late in to the afternoon. Coffee was okay - bit confusing asking what the difference between different types were (“a long black is like an Americano” we were told. Mmmm) but ordered a triple shot as we now do in the UK, and it was an average strength. Proper bottle of water delivered to our table when we asked for water, rather than a tiny glass - we were very pleased about this. Cinnamon scroll at the end of the day was tough - we asked to have it heated, were told they have no microwave, so couldn’t heat things. But she genuinely wanted to help us so toasted the rolls for us and returned with butter as well. Much better, and we did appreciate this response. Courtyard at the rear is non smoking. Hallelujah.

In an era where hygiene needs to be paramount to ensure people feel comfortable, this place falls well short. Highchairs were filthy and a wipe of the wooden tables with a wet wipe saw it turn brown. No hand sanitizer in the dispenser by the toilet, no loo role - cmon Tincan these are basics. The side of sausage came with one sausage which I can only describe as having clearly been cooked a couple of data ago possible. Looked dry with a thick old looking crust. I also think the bacon was precooked earlier as was dry and lifeless. Aside from the poached eggs it all felt old and not fresh. Mocha was fine but only warm and staff weren’t particularly friendly and no one checked if we were ok/If meal was fine.

Stopped by on our last morning in Bristol for coffee and breakfast. High quality coffee and a nice atmosphere for a relaxed weekday morning breakfast. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

I went into Tincan this morning where there was limited seating. I fully understand the rules around Social Distancing and the ongoing problems with the pandemic. However, I was told that there was no seats available although clearly there was enough space if the staff bothered to check properly. They could have moved a few seats around and asked people who were clearly finished how long they were going to be in a sensitive way so I could have had an indication on how long I would have to wait which would have been OK for me. Instead, this young man asked me to take a seat outside although it was raining!!! You couldn't make it up! Thankfully, there are plenty of other very good, better priced cafe's around locally with coffee and customer service far better than Tincan so for them , there will be no more custom from me!

Trip adviser need a 'good option' as its better than average, but no longer very good compared to what it was. I've gone here regularly since it opened, but unfortunately since reopening after lockdown they seem to have applied shrink-flation to the food, while also increasing the prices. The toasties used to be superb. They were on the pricey end, but they were a really decent size and good quality. Now they're nearly half the size and leave you hungry. The breakfast sandwiches have suffered the same fate. The delicious bacon sandwich, which was like a club sandwich with egg and salad is now a sad shadow of its former self. I appreciate the need to recover costs lost in lockdown and can live with a price increase, but unfortunately now it does not feel worth the money. I can live with an empty wallet and a full stomach but not an empty wallet and an empty stomach..
