What a lovely place, I'd go again.

Great food as always- the foccacia is excellent!

Good grub in a nice environment - expected greasy spoon from the frontage, but it turned out to be a few notches nicer. Very good service. We will be back.

Someone said that the breakfast was to die for - I agree! A cosy and lovely place to sit with breakfast and work on my laptop. The gentleman who served and cooked showed great hospitality. A hidden gem in the area, highly recommend.

Lovely evening at Tim's Bistro, the food was very fresh and was a delight to have a wide selection of fish dishes to choose from. The monkfish wrapped in Parma ham was delicious and the mussels were tasty too. They need to sort out their booking system, we reserved a table two weeks in advance but seemed to not have our details on record but squeezed us in on a table at the back. We overheard the chef swearing in the kitchen, sounded peeved that everyone who had sat down for a 7pm booking all had their orders submitted at once and had to turn out all the meals in one blast. Definitely be back for the food, but do sort out your online booking system.

Bread and humus grazer as a starter was great. I order steak and chips for my main it was all cooked perfectly! Great portion size too. Customer service was fab - attentive and friendly servers.

What a find. Fresh fish rules here. Delightful salmon crayfish avocado starter, and mains were fish specials off the board. Fish cooked perfectly, simple flavours, good ingredients and really good value for @£15 for a main. Lots of other stuff on offer on the menu which I'll get round to I'm sure but I'll keep tucking into the fish for now! Lovely staff looked after us very well.

I don't think I've ever had a Surf n' Turf this good, the meat came out sizzling on a pan! Exceptional service and A class food. All very fast as well considering the level of care that goes into it. However the one downside is they do not include a gratuity or option to tip via card; if this is fixed in future I definitely think its worth 5 stars.

Due to the layout of buildings, it's easy to walk by and not notice Tim's Bistro, but don't do that because it is a great local dining experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The food was good, the staff were friendly and the dining area is a pleasant area to be.

We had a breakfast at Tim’s Bistro, they design beautiful restaurant with warm atmosphere. I ordered Eggs Florentine and my partner ordered small breakfast. The egg was cooked good but the spinach was raw. The taste and colour of hollandaise sauce wasn’t good at all. Small breakfast was good except the beans.

Went here as a group of 6 to celebrate a birthday. Small place, but tables were well spaced and staff were friendly and attentive throughout our meal, despite the tables all being full. Good choice of food between the menu and specials board. One of our groups mains were delayed, staff were very apologetic and this was taken off our bill without even complaining, which was appreciated. Everyone really enjoyed their meal and the flavours and portion sizes were great value for money. The chef and owner Tim and his apprentice came round at the end of our meal to check everything was OK, it was a nice touch. Nice to see a little business like this doing well, they clearly care about their customers. I'm sure we'll be back! Definitely worth a visit if you are contemplating it.

Excellent service and food. The place has a very welcoming atmosphere and when we left the chef himself came to thank us. Recommended 100%. If you love seafood, that's the place to go, with plenty of catch of the day on the daily specials. My wife loved, only down for me as a beef lover was just one option for steak, which was superb with peppercorn sauce, by the way.

I don't have time at the moment to offer a detailed review. I will do later. I had dinner at Tims for the first time last night . Simply superb. The whole experience.

Not impressed with this place at all. No personal service when presented with the wine. Staff were not dressed as expected (ie, trainers) The food was very greasy with no garnish! Totally unimpressed. And to top it off my son and I both went down with stomach pain and diarrhoea within 24 hours! Will not go back.

Excellent food and top notch service. Made for an enjoyable evening. Chef Tim even found time to come out from the kitchen to say hello.

Large group of us had an excellent Christmas lunch. Staff very warm & attentive. Thank you for the extra custard & the wine discount. Booking a table here is essential. The food is always superb.

Wonderful experience! The staff was truly welcoming and smiling, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Huge starters (we had the camembert and duck confit), followed by very tasty mains (ribeye steak and bacon, chicken & chorizo risotto). We struggled to manage a chocolate tart dessert. The hospitality was outstanding, and we are definitely going back. Highly recommended. p.s the steak came with a nut free pesto on the salad, and as a person with a nut allergy, this is appreciated beyond words!

Had a lovely meal here. Beautiful menu and the food was delicious. The service was very good, helpful and smiling all through. We certainly will be going back and highly recommend you pay a visit. If you like fish you won’t be dissapointed. Well done to the owners.

Great for a tasty lunch. Very reasonable prices.

Low key, personable, short but attractive range of options, with a good balance of seafood. Some V choices too. Service attentive. Food was...wholesome! For starters I had the (large) scallops with lardons, main the pancetta wrapped baked monkfish. Dessert was the chilled creme brulée. A nice glass of pinot to accompany, and paid a fair price for a throughly enjoyable meal. Fellow diners were quiet couples or friends. Pleasant and highly recommended.

Can't recommend this too highly. Lovely food, expertly cooked - and excellent value. We went for dinner, and enjoyed it so much that we cancelled another restaurent booking to come back the next day for lunch. Very friendly service.

Excellent local bistro providing freshly cooked food. A great for seafood and classics such as focaccia and steaks. All prepared to a high standard. Highly recommended.

I must be the odd one out here. Had a squid special starter that mostly tasted of (admittedly good quality) olive oil. Then a surf and turf, a really fatty steak, again swimming in oil and with chips so thin and crispy they were impossible to stab without them shattering. My partner had a tasty duck dish and the staff (and Tim himself) were very nice. So, a bit conflicted, but that was my experience.

Just passing through and visited Tim's on the strength of the reviews. Not disappointed! Had the freshest loveliest scallops followed by the tastiest steak I've had in a while. Simple, fresh ingredients cooked and presented with real skill. Brilliant place, really well run and staffed with friendly but extremely professional waiting staff. A gem.

Tim is a legend ☺️ His burgers are especially nice, and we enjoyed the pies too. The food is plentiful, fresh, great value and always comes with a handwritten note from Tim thanking us for our custom. Highly recommended 👌 infact I'm now craving his 'Tim's & Chill' meal deal.

We love Tims bistro. I’ve taken friends and family there many times for breakfast and dinner and we always want to return. The food is fairly priced and excellent quality. The staff make the place such a lovely, warm and friendly establishment to keep going back to.

Have wanted to go here for a while and it has good atmosphere but on our night here they had trouble with scallops on at least 2 tables. The staff were excellent and we are thinking of going again

Excellent place to eat .staff are terrific .menu refined but yet has a large punch the service is as good as the plate it is served on.took the family here first time .there was something for everyone to choose all the meals looked fresh tasted delightful all 3 corses were perfect totally faultless they even poped out to get grandson cookie hats off to the chef he was great

I went there tonight with my parents and I cannot believe the pricing! For the quality of food, it is incredibly priced! We all had steak of some variety, and it is always a good sign when you don't have to use the steak knife. So tender! We are already planning our next trip!

We were coming from London to celebrate my Fathers Birthday and having searched reviews we booked Tim's Bistro. I have to say the that we were so pleased that we did, service friendly and attentive with good knowledge on the specials, food was fresh and tasty and prices very good considering the quality of the meals that we had. The fish is on the specials board as they purchase from a good local fishmonger in the morning....perfect! Thanks for making my Fathers Birthday meal a success and we will be back. Highly recommend.

Was recommended Tim’s bistro by a friend so we went last night to celebrate my husband’s and my birthday!! What a gem!!! Great ambience as soon as we walked in !! Great decor !! Friendly staff !! Menu with some mouth watering daily fish special!!! Always thought Southampton lacked a good fish restaurant but no longer .I had the sole for main while my husband had the rib eye steak .Tim prides himself on sourcing and supporting local with fish from Shamrock quays and me from Owtons !!!!We will be back and thoroughly recommend anyone to go along to Tim’s for an evening or lunch for the best meal and service You will find for miles around

Nice atmosphere, and partners food was great, but mussels in my spaghetti hadn't been bearded and they were quite gritty

First but NOT last time This was the first time we've been here and won't be the last, we had booked and when we arrived we were greeted and given a choice of tables. We had time to relax before being offered drinks and make our food choices. The food was excellent but what makes Tim's Bistro stand out in my opinion was the service of all the staff. The were polite, chatty and made us feel very welcomed, without hovering around and asking every five minutes if everything was ok. Overal they made a casual let's go out for something to eat into a very special night.

A wonderful find in Southampton! On a 3-day visit, we enjoyed breakfast twice and lunch once here. The food is delicious, Tim is very personable and the decor and atmosphere is pleasant and inviting. The prices offer great value for money. Highly recommend either the lemon sole or sea bass for lunch (some of the nicest fish we’ve ever tasted). The Eggs Benedict, Full English or 3-egg omelette are all excellent breakfast choices. Really can’t find any fault at all; urge you to have a meal here next time you’re in Southampton!

This is truly a gem 💎 super friendly staff, beautiful decor and an amazing atmosphere. I can’t praise the food enough. Fresh local produce and cooked to absolute perfection. You basically have a heart on a plate!!! Shame we discovered this place on our last day in Southampton 😢

First time we have had food from Tim's Bistro. At the moment I don't feel happy about going to a restaurant so arranged a collection. Had moules to start followed be sea bass fillet. both were delicious & we will definitely do this again.

Had two English breakfasts delivered by Deliveroo. Lovely well presented food and quick courteous delivery. I definitely recommend Tim's Bistro and Deliveroo.

Perfect place to order from, customer service is absolutely top class A1! Had a slight issue with order through Uber eats, Spoke to the manager who couldn’t be more apologetic and resent the order with treats as compensation. Food was amazingly fresh and tasty and well enjoyed, my compliments to the chef, We will be ordering again soon , Many thanks

Have spent too long walking past Tim's Bistro, lunch yesterday was one of the best meals we have had in Southampton where so many eateries promise so much and deliver so little, however, Tim delivers fantastic food from a varied menu. The ambiance is quiet and relaxing, the staff are attentive and we were not rushed. We will be returning very soon.

Was highly recommended and wasn’t disappointed. The food was amazing. Freshly cooked and very well presented. The service was excellent. The two young ladies were attentive polite professional and friendly. The ambience of the little bistro was lovely, comfortable welcoming and intimate. Spotlessly clean. All the little touches (including in the decor in the loo) was lovely. We will definitely visit again. You can tell this bistro is Tims passion. EXCELLENT. See you again soon.

Best risotto I have ever tasted in a very friendly atmosphere. Had a chance to chat to the owner, he is very friendly and I wish him well with his bistro.

An unexpected find amid the often disappointing facilities of Bedford Place. But Tim's Bistro is a gem, an oasis to be sought out and treasured . Friendly, attentive service and food that was delicious, plentiful and largely locally sourced. And Tim himself is a great host, greeting all his regular customers by name but also making sure he chatted with first time visitors such as us.
