Excellent food that goes way beyond Bao from previous location they had. Really enjoyed a date night dinner here!

Really lovely food and the staff were so kind and helpful with allergen information and ensuring my food was gluten free.

Food is OK, not really to my taste but others I know really enjoy it. The main downside is the new location. The building stinks of grease and with the tables being located above the kitchen your clothes end up smelling really bad. I know some people go crazy for bao buns but the dry cleaning bill isn't worth it for me, sorry.

I ordered delivery for the first time and got the beef cured egg yolk and the sesame chilli oil crispy tofu. The buns are like pillows and my belly is happily housing four of them and my face a smile. I wanna order again and I'm so happy with my choice. I had a look online to see recommendations and I'd definitely recommend both these flavours but if you are looking for one, the beef is so so SO juicy.

Perfect buns, especially the chilli tofu. If they don't make the dessert special a permanent fixture I will protest.

The rice dishes were awful; pickles were unpalatable, the “spicy” mapo tofu tasteless and the fried chicken was like eating locusts. 750ml bottle of unpleasant cider cost £20! Has very little to do with Asia… just bad

Another great experience, can't fault these guys, they know what they're doing! Love the new venue, feels much more airy and relaxed. Only thing I'd say is they could potentially use the space as you walk in a bit better - quite a big area of dead space, but I'm sure they'll figure that out as they develop the restaurant. Still in my top 5 of places to grab a quick bite but now sneaks in as a great place for a proper sit down.... ...oh the addition of a cocktail menu was a great idea. Very well made and really good selection!

Missing the atmosphere of their previous place. On entry it needs to feel more welcoming - too sparse and lacklustre. Plants? Low lighting? Art? Wishing them well, food was good, but more veggie options other than tofu please!

Came here after hearing the bao buns were great and I can confirm they indeed were incredible. Atmosphere was stellar and service was great, really nice staff. Only knock to the place is the pricing is pretty expensive.

Ordered takeaway. First time here. Menu and process were easy enough Prices ok. Love the idea of this place and the food they serve. The food was not piping hot, which is clearly a general issue given the method of preparation. Also the lobby and food prep area were cold as the restaurant door doesn't fit and close properly. Food destined for eat-in was at time on the side for a little while, and with no heat lamps, was clearly getting cold too. Food prep looked a little chaotic, but great care was being taken on the details, which was nice. But if it's busy, there is going to be a bit of a wait. Something in my meal was gritty and I was worried I might have damaged a tooth, so something is not being washed and prepped properly - coriander or spring onions likely. Looking at the kitchen, there appears to be limited proper air extract over the cooking/prep areas, so the windows become condensated. This restaurant is trying hard and clearly has aspirations, but they need to address the food prep process, ensure the food is properly cleaned and fully heated, have a food warmer where food is placed waiting for service, fix the door and I can't help thinking a proper cooking equipment extract should be there. Because of these issues, I gave 3-stars.

Lovely little place! Food was delicious and service and atmosphere was spot on! Very reasonable prices for the location as well. Definitely would recommend a visit and I will absolutely be back!

Superb bao. We shared lamb, pork, chicken, duck and the salmon special) alongside a rice bowl and a side of aubergine. Everything packed with flavour, with pickles and sauces complimenting the meat perfectly. Nice selection of beers, but opted for their Punchy non alcoholic drinks and kombucha which went perfectly with the food

Really not sure what's happened to Tiger Bites Pig since their move. Let's start with the good. The beef shin and salted egg yolk bao still slaps! The white cut poached chicken bao is served with a gargantuan amount of delicious chicken. Now for the bad. The ordering system sucks. Paid up via the QR code and zero notification from the app that our order was made. Sat at the pass not a single "hello" or "what are you ordering?" from the chefs, didn't see the front of house lady til service bell was rang by the chef once I'd asked have you got our order. How is it possible for your chefs to be so engrossed in prep, texting, and frequently walking to the fridge next to the pass to not even acknowledge the only two people sat there? Why were your chefs using bottles of D10 surface spray to weigh down raw meat in marinade? Why were your chefs using blue roll to clean your cured egg yolks? Why did your chef shurg at my girlfriend when he dropped uncooked rice on the floor? Why is your front of house only positioned to work upstairs? Why did your chefs work with buckets of raw meat next to cooked meat that they were chopping to serve? Why is it only QR code order when you have front of house staff and the payment app isn't playing ball? You guys used to be class down by New Street, I even bought your tshirt during lockdown as I wanted to help keep you going. I know it's a new move and you're finding your feet, but step it up please!

Not the same since it moved!! Beer is no longer Sapporo on tap, and the service is pretty low. We sat at the bar up top, hoping for a quick pint and a cheeky bao like previous times. O how disappointing, we waited for what felt like 20 minutes before leaving. We had no service, we were shown our seats and were left to feel like we had nothing to offer other than a seat. Upwards and downward at the same time. Unfortunate as we used to love this place

Visited on a cold Tuesday lunchtime, so I anticipated it to lack the buzz you’d expect of a weekend or evening, so yes, it was a little quiet, but other than that, I couldn’t work out why as food was absolutely delicious! My wife and I had a rice bowl each and a bao bun on the side. Lovely craft lager being served. Everything was a reasonable price too. All of excellent quality and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Thanks so much, we’ll be back!

Great little place to go dinner first time here but a shame to hear it's moving from the center off town further to the outskirts

Best Bao I've ever eaten! We've eaten a few times here since our first visit, never disappointed in fact this Sunday evening I'd say the best so far, it's become our go to choice for a bite before a night out. Full of glorious flavour, not too huge so you don't feel too stuffed, it's quick to order and get served, ideal for a pre theatre or concert bite. No tables as such, just a shelf around the tiny shop with stools to seat about 10 people so don't expect a romantic candle lit dinner! Only criticism, one of the guys smokes in the street outside the restraunt which we both found a little off putting visited again today (17/10/24) to be given a menu and then studiously ignored by all three of the staff, gave up, walked out and went to Dishoom for lunch! Hope they are more interested in the new venue! Disappointed!

I really wanted to like this place. The food was bland, stingy with the meat and really overpriced for what it was. So disappointed with it sadly, and I won't be trying it again. It was also really dirty inside, with fruit flies in the eating area.

The first time I visited this place, was because it was recommended by a friend. The second was okay, however I saw the dirty walls above the food preparation area which was very off putting, the third time I was very disappointed, nothing had changed in terms of cleanliness, even the wall pictures had dust on them, the girl that served us, needed to be less vocal about her personal life, & concentrate on service, she never said I hope you enjoyed your food just placed in front of us !!! Almost like throwing at a dog then walked away, please view your cameras. I hope you actually do something about this, as you have lost one customer maybe more.

Food was ok. The best option was the duck bao ban. We ordered also some rice bowls. The portion was quite big but some part of the bawl were cold like the carrots. Also the hygiene of the kitchen was not the best.

We found this place by chance, but had seen it come up in a recent list of good Asian food places in the city. We intended to go for a meal but thought we would have a starter here before we moved on. Enticed by the menu, we ordered a few things and we were really impressed by what was delivered. Great flavour and texture in every dish. We will definitely return and recommend it. The atmosphere let it down but really it is an in and out joint.

This was my first time ever eating alone, there was a server who I’ve not seen there before, she was so friendly I felt totally at ease. The food was amazing as always - I even returned for takeaway later in the day. Great service and great food, always worth a visit.

I have been meaning to try tiger bites pig for some time and im glad i did! The bao were superb and the staff were superb too. Will be visiting again very soon. Lots of positives well done tiger bites pig for a great hidden gem in birmingham.

Found this by chance just outside Birmingham New Street Station. What a find! Can't recommend it highly enough and can't wait to get stuck in Birmingham so i can revisit this place and sample their delights. Super friendly service and delicious Tofu Bao with an aubergine sauce. Wow!!

Good food. Limited seating. I really enjoyed the baos. Especially the Beef Shin ones which was full of flavour. The duck rice bowl was great too.

Amazing food and service. Cosy restaurant. Went at around 4pm and it wasn't busy at all. The staff were really polite and talkative. The bao buns are absolutely amazing. The fried chicken one is highly recommended.

Stopped here for a quick lunch. The vegan tofu bao bun was beyond amazing—soo flavourful. The place is very small though so I would not recommend coming in groups.

This place is an absolute must if you're in Birmingham. The staff are extremely friendly and the food is so good! I've been there twice and each time the food has held up. The atmosphere is really nice too, being quite a small location you get a good look at the food as it's made.

This place does some really great Asian food. We've been before and had the bao buns. This time, we tried out the rice bowls. We had the fried chicken and pork. The food was excellent! It was very tasty and spot on with the Asian flavours! Staff were very friendly. Small place, but as we we t later in the afternoon/early evening, we managed to get a seat by the window. Would recommend!

Lamb boa was good, bearing in mind that there are only a few places in Birmingham that have them, but I wouldn't call it outstanding. Boa bun was soft, moist, and lamb filling had some taste to it. But at £6.50 a pop, it offered poor value for money. The fried chicken rice bowl at £15 offered even worse value for money. 90% of it was plain rice with few small fried chicken pieces on top with salad. As this place was recommended by a Michelin starred chef, one has to question his judgement.

Buena comida - bollos de bao son excelentes y servicio rápido. Este es un lugar muy pequeño, así que prepárate para que no tengan espacio para ti - lo mejor es solo cenar como un 2 aquí. Tampoco hay inodoro dentro del cual era un poco de un dolor.

The food was really tasty, but the rice bowel was only like warm, we asked if it could be warmed up, but we were told it was fine & edibl, after we eat all the food, the we still protested that it wasn’t the best, and the just told us it was an older batch that may be could have been warmer!, but because we already had paid we felt our request feel on def ears 🥲

I got two baos. Fried chicken bao was sensational. The duck breast one I found myself fighting to chew through the meat to take bite, the sauce and garnish of this one was lovely but would maybe miss in the future. The gentleman next to me got two beef baos and they looked fantastic too. A must try for travellers, especially given how close to the station and how quick the service was.

Great food with friendly staff who really want you to enjoy the flavours. Lunchtime was bustling and happy, people taking on the menu, asking "what to eat?" There are a few stools to eat, with the open kitchen this creates a foodie focused atmosphere. Take away looked popular for lunch. Bao buns soft, fillings were spicy, bursting with flavour, the meat was melt in mouth tender, try everything and ask the chef for recommendations.

What a gem!! The care in the food, service, and atmosphere are readily apparent and on point. Best bao bun that I’ve ever had! Really sad that I don’t live closer. So convenient to the New Street train station that anyone passing thru town should pop-in and grab something to go! Will pass the word about how amazing this place is!

This is the perfect place for a quick, cheap, relaxed quick bite to eat. The bao here are always delicious, and the staff are always pleasant and friendly! Our favourite place to go have a quick beer and catch up. The bao themselves are prepared quickly and have great balance of flavours. The restaurant is small, but I feel it adds to the casual izakaya like feel of the place. Truly feels like somewhere you want to be a ‘regular’ at and with £5 for a bao it’s really fantastic.

Best Bao Buns I've ever had in the uk. Most baos are overpriced, however these are actually worth the price.

The food is just sooooo delicious. We had to wait for the waitress who was teaching a new member of staff and the chef should have washed his hands before touching the buns after sweeping the floor. (This is the surgeon speaking) Otherwise I recommend it to everyone who likes bao buns.

We had the red pork belly bao bun. The pork belly was extremely fatty with little meat and the bao bun wasn’t light and fluffy, very dense and bread like. The restaurant also had a strong off putting odour. Very disappointing.

Delicious but pricey for one bao bun.

We had two different veggie rice bowls. I asked specifically whether the food would be spicy, saying that I had zero spice tolerance, and the staff reassured me that it was not spicy at all. That turned out to be completely untrue. The rice bowl had chilli all over it and the sauce was so strong I couldn't eat any of it. The bowl also had very little variety - basically rice and different types of cabbage. Big disappointment, especially after reading nice reviews.

Got the takeout Bao and bowl. The meat was tough and dry and the spicy hot sauce was far from spicy - more like mildand creamy. Heard really good things about this place, however I do not think it lives up to what it could be. Quick delivery though..

Amazing food! Impressed with the baos, they are so delicious and tasty! The bowl was also really great, love how there are lots of toppings. Will reorder the same menu if I come back here, but the one that stood but the most is the Duck Breast Bao, just amazingly out of this world. The downside is that the place is quite small, might need to wait for a bit during rush hour. But, definitely worth it!

Heard a lot of good things about this place, so nipped in for a quick try during a visit to Birmingham. Style over substance unfortunately, I was really disappointed. The tofu bao is awful - literally just a thick slab of unseasoned tofu. The egg yolk was welcome and brought probably too much salty flavour but apart from that, the dish is bland and claggy. The pork belly bao was better but still nothing special. The buns were chewy and a bit dry. Unfortunately the staff member didn't ask me how anything was either. Definitely wouldn't come back, sorry!

This is a great little spot in the heart of Birmingham. We visited for my birthday, I thoroughly enjoyed our bao buns, beer on tap lovely too and a great little range of interesting soft drinks. I felt safe with my allergies and staff were friendly and helpful.

These baos are a different level. Every single one gives you a unique culinary experience bursting with asian flavours. An absolute gem hidden just outside Birmingham New street. Came in today and had the MOST LOVELY afternoon. After a long term as a teacher I had a rare afternoon to myself in brum and wanted a quick bite of good food. I’ve been a few times and love the restaurant so much I’ve even bought a t-shirt 🙃. I was on my own eating then another woman walked in, instead of taking her order to go she got out a book and sat in the space. Another girl came in and got out a drawing pad and ate her food. We were all sitting just getting on with our own thing eating food and I thought to myself… this is what girlhood should be. Can’t recommend highly enough: the quality of food is excellent, the staff are lovely and the whole vibe is so warm.

Best bao bun place in Birmingham - this little gem never fails to disappoint, I have found myself craving the bao buns here from time to time and returning for more. The buns are steamed to the perfect softness, and the cured egg yolk is curated to give rich flavours which complements the other ingredients. Don’t be fooled by its size, it’s rather filling.

One of the best bao buns i had. Generous stuffing, great flavour, balanced, juicy meat. Would definitely recommend for a quick bite and run.

Ordered the beef shin rice bowl to go, which was very good - the beef was braised and seasoned well, and there were quite a few fresh, preserved and pickled vegetables on the side. The cured egg yolk was a great addition too. However the price didn't really justify the food because £16 for a single rice bowl during lunch hour is a bit ridiculous

The staff at Tiger Bites Pig were great, answered my questions and added to the overall positive experience, not overselling, and providing friendly and knowledgeable service. The food is memorable, simple - but these are obviously well thought out unique creations. It was recommended by people whose opinions I trust, and is worth making the effort to visit. I loved being able to take my dog too!
