Best place to enjoy and taste the Korean food in the Birmingham area.

Lovely place to taste delicious Korean food This was the first time I’ve been to Korean restaurant. Piping hot food and friendly staff However not sure if nhs discount was applied despite asking for it

The taste is good but the rice is too hard, not well cooked. If you don’t mind the waiter and also tiller who makes your tea by putting his fingers to the pot mixing water and tea leaves and putting them in the mug and pouring hot water in it, go ahead for hot tea 🥵！ Not sure the general hygiene standards of this Korean.

Both me and my girl really liked the food. Would recommend the boneless fried chicken, defo would come again

Estoy absolutamente horrorizado. Nos sirvieron pollo crudo como entrante y luego cuando nos pidieron que verificáramos dos veces con el chef si lo que vimos era cierto , el camarero confirmó que no estaba cocido y nos ofreció un reembolso. Todavía esperaban que pagáramos por los otros trozos de nuestra comida a pesar de que mi principal también tenía trozos crudos de pollo. El personal nos ignoró durante el resto de nuestra estancia y nos evitó - no trataron de ayudar o rectificar la situación. El dueño ni siquiera quería hablar conmigo. El camarero en sí era agradable - no es su culpa en absoluto, pero inaceptable para el restaurante para servir a los huéspedes pollo completamente crudo.

This place is an absolute joke. My friends and I ordered BBQ Set B (£48) after the staff assured us multiple times it was enough for 3 people. However, the portion served was shockingly small and barely enough for one person, let alone three (no refill). To make matters worse, steamed rice wasn't even included and was charged separately at £2.50 per bowl, making our meal (£59.20 total) absurdly expensive for the amount of food provided. Very disappointing experience, would definitely avoid if you're expecting normal size portions or value for money.

Very friendly... and delicious... it was really good 🥹 It was the first Korean food I had since coming to the UK, and although it was expensive, it was nice because it had a clean taste and a good taste of Korea!!!

The chocolate cake won’t be recommended for delivery as it can stick. The fries seemed to be undercooked and should be more tender. However, the chicken boneless bites with the fiery sauce was good as well as katsu chicken with curry and white rice. It was an overall decent enjoyable meal. Do seek further improvements, 감사합니다 🌸

Really delicious meal here, loads of choice, spotless low key dining with helpful friendly server. Had beef short rib dish with gluten free potato starch noodles and pak choi. So tasty, menus has GF veggie vegan listed hot/spicy items are marked too. Was easy to get soy free too.

Me and my friend came here on a whim to try bibimbap. It's quite rustic. I feel like it's more of a takeaway with seating than a restaurant but it's a nice relaxed atmosphere. The lady who served us was friendly and we were seated instantly. We ordered prawn kimbap and the bibimbap and my friend had tea while I chose an old mout cider. The food was good, the prices here are certainly amazing value for money. If I recall it was £18 per person and the portion sizes were huge. Everything seemed clean and you can see the kitchen from the seated area. Overall a good experience which I would repeat to try something new off of the menu. Thank you !

This was my first time ordering takeaway from this restaurant, and I was quite pleased with the experience. I discovered that Sylvia provided exceptional service—she was attentive, kind, and knowledgeable about the menu. I would definitely rate her service as five stars!

Exemplary service from the waiter Simon. He mades us feel so welcome from start to finish, service you would expect from the highest quality of restaurants. The food was also good and alongside his excellent service we will definitely be returnin. Especially if Simon is there!

Delicious korean cuisine with reasonal price. Stew / Jigae broth were our favourite this time! Best lunch to have with friends or family.

I ordered stir-fried squid and it was delicious. I was really satisfied, perhaps because it was my first seafood dish in a while. The person serving us is really friendly.

The food was extremely greasy, and the chicken served on the rice was boiled, tasteless, and clearly microwaved—it even still had foam on it. When I went to ask the staff for some tissue, I saw the chef smelling the chicken wings, which was quite off-putting. I didn’t even bother taking the rest of the food home. Definitely won’t be returning.

Recientemente visité el restaurante Kimchi en Selly Oak y me impresionó mucho! Pedí el ramen de cerdo, y fue excepcional: el caldo era rico y lleno de sabores profundos y auténticos, y el cerdo era increíblemente tierno. Todo el plato era una mezcla perfecta de sabores tradicionales coreanos. Además, el servicio fue fantástico – amable y atento, haciendo que toda la experiencia sea aún mejor. Este lugar es una joya absoluta a la hora del almuerzo, y no puedo recomendarlo lo suficiente! Sin duda volveré para probar más del menú.

Awful pseudo korean food, overpriced worthless scran unfortunately :( It's too different compared to when i visited South Korea. Food was too different, not authentic and too expensive you should not be pretending to sell korean food like this to be honest very disappointing.

Been coming to kimchi for nearly 2 years. Great place with decent pricing and food is amazing as well as service and interior. Chef special was my go to but I just wish it had more meat options instead of just pork

Absolutely amazing, made a reservation for my 19th birthday and had the spicy squid sizzler. The lady who sat us is very sweet, and it wasnt too busy as it was a week day, i 1000000% recommend to anyone who loves korean food or any food with a kick! Absolutely amazing will be going back!!

Had the set lunch and it was really good value. Also ordered a few other items to share - seafood pancake & fried chicken. It was delicious, cooked to order so everything was hot and crispy. A really nice cozy restaurant, good service and decent food

It tasted so bad that I ordered beef soup with rice. MSG soup, not much meat, rice is too sticky...

Amazing food would 100 percent recommend

When eating at a restaurant, rib soup is served in an earthen pot. I had no idea that in the UK, you would be able to eat rib soup and gobong rice boiled in an earthen pot like this. The amount of meat was generous and the galbitang was really great.

Great service but terrible food. Very bland and no protein in the 'lunch special'. I've never written a bad review before but the food was very disappointing! Wouldn't recommend to anyone looking for Korean food.

This is one of the best Korean restaurants in Birmingham. I've been coming here since 2016 when I discovered it and it's amazing! The dolsot bibimbap is spot on!!

The price is cheap and affordable, and you can get a discount if you use cash. But I was not satisfied with the bibimbap because it was full of vegetables and no meat. But the portion of fried chicken is huge. Overall very good for the price

This is the best restaurant in Selly Oak. The service is so insanely fast, it shocks me every time when they put food in front of me basically moments after I’ve ordered it. The range of food is amazing and everything is so so good. It is our go to restaurant both for ourselves and when people come to visit us in Selly. The prices are also so reasonable for the quality of the food and the service. Servers are always so lovely and atmosphere is always great whether busy or quiet. This is our favourite restaurant ever. We’ve been here multiple times and tried most of the menu. This time we had the kimchi jeon pancake and some chicken teriyaki skewers for starter and for main we had the pork sizzler and the spicy seafood ramen. All were super super tasty and will definitely be getting again.

we ordered the boneless chicken, pa jeon, spicy pulled beef hotpot and jjajangmyeon and all were very flavourful and delicious! customer service is also great, the lady serving us was very sweet and helpful :) i’ve come here many times and always enjoy the food and experience!
