Siamais in Birmingham

The dishes lacked depth of flavour, and our side dishes were forgotten and we had to remind the staff we had ordered them, consequently our mains had gone cold by the time they arrived. The venue is nice but unfortunately the food and service is not quite upto scratch. Probably would not visit again.

Disappointed for being rushed. We went for bottomless brunch at 4pm on a Saturday. The food and cocktails were mediocre. It was a 90 min booking. They keep you with topped up with prosecco (cos it's cheaper) and the cocktail were not as quick to follow but not far off. They presume you want the same cocktail as previous so you do need to tell them if you want to explore the menu as bottomless usually entails... What annoyed us was the waitress announced last orders for cocktails at 5.10pm and the bill landed on our table 10 mins after that. Once bill was settled, another waiter annoyingly stood over our table whilst we were still finishing our drinks. Eventually he said he needed the table back straight away. We drank as much as we could from what was left and queued for the toilet before leaving. On our way out we looked around and there were empty tables everywhere (including ours), so couldn't understand why they hurried us out like that? We were made to feel like an inconvenience just being there so for that reason we won't be back again. Also, we noticed that they billed us £1 for charity. We noticed after we settled the bill, but in the midst of being hurried out we actually didn't have time/thinking space to address it. We felt this was an added cheek.

A nice Thai restaurant with good food, smooth and professional service and an enjoyable cocktail menu. Certainly overpriced for the type of food on offer, made even worse by slightly sneaky upsales and additional charges on the bill that weren't highlighted by the waitress when she asked our preferences on certain dishes. Certainly disappointing but still a pleasant experience.

Food and service was 10/10 as always, never a bad experience here and our server, Kristian, was very courteous.

Today I ordered a Tom Kha Gai and a papaya salad to pick up for the first time. The waitress was extremely friendly and even asked me if I had any allergies. The food was ready at the agreed time. I have to say that I have rarely eaten such good and authentic Thai food. An absolute recommendation!!!

I came here on Saturday for my birthday with a group of 9 and we had great service. Preorders were taken, drinks came promptly for bottomless brunch and Christian the manager was really nice and accommodating. Lovely friendly atmosphere with great food and drinks. Fabulous bottomless brunch, in fact the best I have ever had. Food, drinks and service was fantastic. First time here, but definitely not the last. I would highly recommend! Ashanti was so attentive and made sure that we were well looked after - thank you :-)

Kinjal was absolutely amazing. 10/10 service really felt welcomed and looked after.

I went here to celebrate my birthday and I wasn't disappointed. I had crispy wontons, chargrilled chicken thigh and salted caramel souffle; all of it was good, cooked to perfection. The souffle surprised me by being a chilled one, but it was still delicious. The only thing I didn't like was some of the music that played, but that's me nitpicking.

Everything was excellent. Would highly recommend and we will return. Thank you to all the staff.

Again another brilliant night here. Atmosphere was good not too busy. The food was ok. I just would have liked more Veg / Salad with my main. I would to thank the waitress with the blonde hair. I did not get hair name, but she was attentive & helpful. The Manager was also friendly. So thank you for making it a special night for my fella on his 🎂 birthday

Food excellent. Busy on a Saturday night. A little on the expensive side but you get what you pay for.

I went to siamais last Saturday for a prosecco brunch at 4pm (Booking under 'Rebecca' or 'Becca' Campbell). Just wanted to provide some important feedback. It was a party of 4 (3 women and 1 man) however, the male that was with us was repeatedly misgendered from entry to exit. I understand that "Hi ladies" or "anything more I could do for you ladies?" is normally acceptable but, our male friend is a trans male. The presumption in how to address our group and them as an individual made them feel awkward and very uncomfortable so, for them it wasn't a good experience, overall. It was for a joint birthday celebration for myself and the man aforementioned which was mentioned in the request section. By no means were we looking for any freebies but, an acknowledgement for the occasion would have gone further than you think. Furthermore, there seemed to be a pressure to upsell on the brunch package we agreed on. I already stated once seated that we wanted the prosecco brunch but, we were asked a further two times whether we didn't want to change our decision. The food was nice but, getting refills was difficult so I think not choosing the cocktail brunch option was sensible. I have been to Siamais and number of times for dinner but, I think from this experience, I would go back for brunch unless there were more improvements. P.s. This issue has been raised by myself and another friend with no response via email. If that does not signify how little they value customers, I don't know what else will.

The place and decor is lovely and the staff are excellent and attentive. The downside is the food, I went for the sharing fish platter to start with and the Thai green curry. I wasn’t keen on these and I usually love a Thai green curry and seafood, it just didn’t hit the mark for me. I’m not in any rush to go back.

Wonderful first experience at Siamais. We particularly enjoyed the chargrill lamb and softshell crab, as well as the variety of unique cocktails that Siamais had to offer. Our waiter, Ananda, was extremely helpful in giving us the best recommendations and ensured we had the best experience overall. Very impressed by Siamais' atmosphere and professionalism of Ananda's service. We will definitely be back again!

Delicious food and excellent service from staff, could not fault it!

We ordered pork skewers and fried calamari rings as appetizers and gree curry and red curry as mains. The food was delicious. Staff was friendly and there was no waiting for the food. My wife says her caipirinha with jiwi cocktail was delicious. I had a draft beer. The check was around £90. Extremely happy with what we got for the money.

Felt disappointed because I remember it being really nice here when I came with some friends. Came with my partner and it was such a let down. Summary of the food: Seafood platter - the calamari was over cooked. Fried rice with chicken - literally just that, no seasoning no flavour. Beef with oyster sauce - was very chewy, maybe reheated? Tom yum soup - Coconut milk mixed with red paste and ginger. Overall had a lot better from takeaway for quarter of the price. Overpriced for the quality of food. The servers didn't even ask why we left the majority of the food, shows they know it's nothing special to ask about.

Siamais! Highly recommended.We had the the starter and main course. Well presented dishes with tantilising flavours that set your taste buds alive 🙌. Wonderful!

- Atmosphere: A lovely setting, perfect for a celebration. - Halal Options: Confirmed with the staff that the chicken and lamb dishes are halal. - Pricing: Without starters and drinks, the cost is approximately £20 per person. - Spicy Dishes: We enquired about the spice levels, and a waiter confidently assured us they were not too spicy. As someone who enjoys chilli, I found the dishes extremely intense, even at a 2/3 spice level. Unfortunately, the chilli overwhelmed the flavours, making the dishes less enjoyable. I would not recommend the spicy options for this reason. - Massaman Curry: Absolutely wonderful with a rich, non-spicy flavour. The strong presence of star anise was delightful. - - Chicken with cashew nuts: not spicy, the tables favourite, would recommend. - Mango Salad: Beautifully fresh and a perfect contrast to the spicier dishes. Although I felt it could have used a bit more dressing, it was still amazing and worth ordering. - Chicken with Chilli Paste: The dish had a pleasant lemongrass flavour, but the spice level was too high for anyone at the table to fully enjoy. - Chicken with Chilli and Basil: Typically one of my favourite Thai combinations, but sadly, the overwhelming heat made it difficult to taste anything beyond the burn. - Overall Recommendation: I would recommend Siamais, but suggest altering the dishes to reduce the chilli or opting for those without heat.

Kelis is a lovely waitress who was constantly attentive to us during our brunch. Made sure we always had a drink at hand and made our experience at Siamais even better.

I came to Birmingham for my nephews 19th birthday with the family, my dad and my sister with her young children have never tried Thai food and they wanted to try before going to Thailand next year for the first time and thought this would be a nice experience . I read the google reviews and decided to book here. We wasn’t disappointed… wow!! All the food came out so quick was were amazed and it was soooo good. Everyone loved the food. We were most impressed with the service, our waitress Laura was superb, nothing was too much trouble and she was so pleasant and even brought out the birthday cake and sang happy birthday with us. Well done Laura you done a great job and thankyou Saimais would highly recommend

I went here for my birthday diner with my partner and had a good time! It had a lovely and bubbly atmosphere, the food was tasty!! 🤤 The only part I and my partner weren’t happy about was we waited a bit before our table was ready even though we had booked but it was only for a few minutes. Overall experience was great!

My partner and I visited Siamais for our anniversary and we absolutely love it! We decided to go in half an hour before our table reservation so we could try some cocktails. We had a lovely welcome by the manager who then showed us to our table. Staff were so friendly and attentive. The food was something else! We decided to have satay chicken, soft shell crab and the Thai meatballs for starters and all of them were so flavourful. Our mains we had chicken with cashew and a lamb massaman curry both so delicious! We highly recommend Siamais, the decor is beautiful and just a really lovely vibe. Thank you!

What an absolute joke of a place, Uncle Tim was very upset.. he loves a drink, and managed to walk out with losing a tooth off the kerb… anyway… seems their offer to “bribe people with a shot for good reviews” works on drunk people! Although I’d question if it’s even possible to get drunk here unless you’ve had the vile Prosecco? Used to love this place, this time it was absolutely shocking. The staff are rude and incompetent. 2 drinks in an hour? Nothing “bottomless” about this “brunch”. The food burnt my tongue like it had been microwaved within an inch of its life… fortunately we had 3 non drinkers in our group that pointed out we had been massively overcharged… i guess they expect people on the Prosecco not to check the bill and pay… nearly £70 for a service charge… you can forget that… there was no service!! Also tried to charge the three non alcohol drinkers for an alcohol brunch… erm I’d argue we all should’ve paid the “non alcohol option” since it was so slow and poor. Manager had clearly been briefed with the “we’re busy” sob story… if you have 100 bookings, maybe use an ounce of professionalism and have enough staff to deliver expectations, or better still don’t be greedy and book the amount of customers you can manage with the staff available. I’d avoid… save your money and go somewhere the staff aren’t miserable, sarcastic and passive aggressive!!

Crab cakes are to die for Cocktails are good and in good variety even ones with similar flavours aren't the same. Good service Only downside is no one seems to keep on top of the toilets and theirs no signal. Toilets should be maintained every hour for such a nice place and free WiFi for customers would make sense. They spend alot.

Kristian and Gabby were amazing we had a great time! From the moment we arrived we were greeted with amazing customer service and the energy and charisma from Kristian was absolutely amazing. Gabby was the best in terms of service. It was my first time here but it definitely won't be the last! Would definitely recommend this place to any and everyone!
