Just thought I’d leave a review I came here about 2 weeks ago and ordered a masala fish and it was amazing the flavours were unreal and the portion size was very generous, not only that the customer service is exceptional and anyone looking to grab a nice fish and chips or want to try the masala fish should definitely consider visiting Shaks Fish Bar

Shaks is one best chip shop I been to, The food is always on point and you don't have to wait long for your order. The shaks Brothers are well mannered, down to earth and they have alot of respect for there customers and people around them. Shaks fish bar is a place where people in the community will come together to talk about things while ordering there good food, sometimes it reminds me of the movie Barbershop on how all the good people will come just to talk to the shaks Brothers and eat which a very good feeling because it shows how they help hold there community together. Thank you for opening up a great shop and I hope it will always stay open A++ in my book keep up the great Food.

Best food around by far! Food is always bang on, perfection, always fresh and hot when ever I come and order. Food is always swiftly made fast and delicious. You cannot complain about price here as the quality and quantity of the food is beyond amazing for the price, owner and staff always go above and beyond for their customers always smiling and respectful. You really can’t compare this food place. Different selection of foods to choose from for the whole family.

My partner went to this ace chippy to get me a masala fish, which is one of my favourite foods. He's already left a review. My food, though was absolutely delicious, presented well and looked so appetising when I opened it. Perfectly spiced and grilled fish. Chips are lovely, not greasy at all and perfectly cooked. This place is a gem in the centre of Birmingham.

Great place. The cod and chips were tasty and fried perfectly so that it wasn't greasy. My other half enjoyed a grilled masala fish that hit the spot. The food was cooked fresh, so I ended up chatting to the counter staff, very friendly. Worth every penny and I'll be going back again for a takeaway.

Ordered Mexcian Cheesy Chips - Single Fresh chips with melted mozzarella cheese & jalapenos sprinkled with peri peri seasoning and onyl got chips with Sauce charge £5.59 for a normal smal chips and Shaks Special Haloumi Wrap £8.29 it was so small!!!

nearly an hour and 10 minutes from order time i live local. For the price £33 a chicken and 1 fish n chips not even a drink with it

We were in Birmingham for a Melanie Martinez concert at the Utilita Arena and had already checked out Just Eat for somewhere close to eat rather than take a mortgage out and eat in the arena itself. lt was a 5 minute walk from the West Carpark and offers a range of food from traditional Fish and Chips to kebaks, southern fried and peri peri chicken. Prices at the counter are a fair bit cheaper than online, but that is kind of normal these days. The staff were super helpfull and polite, and the food was cooked to order. You could tell that the fish was fresh and tbh, was one of THE best fish and chips l've had in a long time. All in all, it has to be a 5 star review, just perfect for something to eat while at the Arena

Top tier, I’ve been advocating for this shop and it’s not looking like that’s due to stop.

Having the chance of living in UK for sometime, fish and chips were a big staple of everday life, that I miss a lot. Shaks is a small place in a neighbourhood area, walk away from the city center. The owner knew most if not all his customers, but even the new ones (including me), he greeted as if we were long lost cousins. Fish and chips were just purely delicious, freshly fried and steaming hot. This place fed me well and brought back memories, go and support this place 8)

It's a bit of a walk for me to get to, but we'll worth the trip. Bostin food, great service and a nice clean shop. I had mixed kebab and chips and it was great. Must try the fish next visit.

Great local takeaway. Had a small fish & chips- right size for me and really good quality fish cooked fresh. All the other food in there chicken, kebab etc. look great. The lads who run the place are doing a fantastic job -will come again when in Brum.

Found a metal wire in battered sausage

The whole peri peri chicken arrived burnt and dried out. Literally no sauce on the chicken. Usually the food is good so this was a big let down.

the food was cold the fish was really hard and cold. the chips was not very nice i could not eat it i put the food in the bin could not eat it. it was not as nice as as before. 👎.

Used Uber eats to order a doner wrap and chips. Food was delivered really quickly. The wrap itself was a little dry but the doner meat was quite succulent. Chips were ok too.

Was on a work trip in Birmingham for 2 weeks (from the US) and of all the places we ate at, this was by far the best! Happy we found it! Really friendly guys running the joint too!

Good customer service, 5/6 minute wait. Chips were warm and so was the fish, sausages a little colder but still luke warm. Chip portion could have been a little bigger but overall a very tasty fish and chip shop.

I was craving some good fresh Fish & Chips, and remembered Shak’s was a place I wanted to try. I am extremely pleased I did, because the fish and chips I received was the best in a long time. Order was made fresh to order as I didn’t mind waiting. Lovely chips with delicious crispy batter on the succulent cod fish and curry sauce just finished it off nicely. Customer service was great, the young lad Ibraheem was friendly and welcoming. I recommend to all who want fresh and tasty food. I will definitely be visiting again.

Very nice food loved it family enjoyed it very clean shop also very friendly chap who works their looks after me with good portions the salads are banging and the masala fish wrap defo try that if not your missing out. Mention the bande and he will make it extra tasty for you 100%. Service is excellent very good on prices on food and portions.

No SAUCE with My Order Even Though I Chose The Meal Deal & It Clearly States It Comes With Sauce. The Food Is Therefore DRY.

Overpriced for the quality of the chips, fish, etc, portion size did not make sense, huge fish, little portion of chips… the doner chicken meat tasted looked and smelled like it had been reheated and cooled down too many times, when I got there the meat was completely cold, about 3 inch left of meat on the donner , however didn’t heat it up enough before serving my portion. Not surprised it’s not busier in there!! Reply to the boss; Buddy the food was in very poor conditions, if you go through so much chicken you tell me why when I got to your shop at 10 to 10pm the chicken burner was already off and the amount of chicken left on that stick was under 3 inch diameter. If you think my review is not genuine that’s fine. What I think is that people without the passion for this industry should go plaster some walls or brick laying.

Food is always on point but only thing that I would say is the chips need to cooked a bit longer as some of them was a bit hard.

Well the one thing I thought birmingham lacked when I moved from cov was a decent chippy. I found it and shaks is it. Simple. Staff are fantastic family run buisiness. 24 year old chap behind the counter works his heart out to make the experience for the customer. A lot of you useless waster students with no work ethic could learn from this man. I pray he profits from his hard work in years to come.

Best peri peri chicken, especially with their smoky barbecue. Also, their fish was tender and soft.

My new favourite chip shop! I've ordered at least 6 times on Uber Eats. The food always comes out amazing, the red donner meat is delicious! Also had the cod and chips which were was nice and fresh. I'm blown away by the price and quality!
