A hidden gem in reality. This quaint Indian tiffin restaurant dishes out some of the best vegetarian food items at such an affordable price. I discovered this shop by accident and am glad for it. I tried the rice with spinach and chana dal and they took me back to my times in the northern part of India. The lady at the helm was very sweet and warm and it's an absolute delight to converse with her. I am sure I will be visiting here a lot from now on.

I’m a short term visitor to Bristol, but I’m sure I’ve had lunch from here almost every week during my three months. Quick and easy take away, and the food is just so tasty and filling. The large box with rice and two curries is my go to, and there’s a wonderful cycle of different curries across the week. Really delicious and great value I think. Nice to support a lovely local business.

Thought we’d try this this vegetarian takeaway out based on all the good reviews but are really dissapointed. Our first taste was of a sweet sauce. Not really something you would associate with Indian street food. The vegetarian curries had little in the way of fresh vegetables. Mostly small mushy pieces and slightly undercooked beans/lentils. With the mix of curries in one container it all just mushed into one. Would be nicer to separate out the curries. The chapatis were not made in the restaraunt. They are the sort of the ones you buy in supermarkets but resold in this place - big let down. Portions could be more generous so not good value for money. The lady serving who I think is the owner was really nice but the food infortunatelty has failed to live up to the hype of the reviews.

Tiffins was recommended by friends, so on my travels looking at Bristol's street art scene, I gave it a go. The lady owner was soooo nice and obviously proud of what she had created. I'm not a veggie but the range of food on offer, quality and price it didn't matter. The aromas were enough to make you feel hungry and want to try every available dish...didn't attempt every dish, naturally, but it means I will have to go back to try more dishes. Happy days. Great location, parked easily enough across the road. Meter til 5pm on Saturday as a nice to know. Need to know is the artwork inside...commissioned by themselves, its an awesome Nick Walker!! Didn't know this piece existed! Grab great food, sit back and take it all in. Top left hand cornerish Nick has incorporated stencil images of the owners, supplied by themselves! Check out the detail....Tiffins and Nick Walker? Absolute Legends. Met Nick's sister while I was there....added bonus. Fabulous food, great value and choice combined with a warm welcome, throw in a Nick Walker and its the perfect place to experience authentic Gujarati cuisine and a graf icon's work. Enjoy!!

I'm a regular customer at Tiffins, which offers home-cooked food in the style of the Indian state of Gujarat. This means less oil, no ghee, and generally healthier dishes than often found in UK Indian restaurants. The menu is all-vegetarian, with a choice of six or seven dishes. There is a bit of day-to-day variation, but one can usually count on a lentil dish, a potato dish, and something based on beans or chick-peas. Most of the dishes are mild with typically one dish indicated as being spicier. I typically go for the "meal deal": two containers, each a mix of flavours, plus rice, chapatis and papads, to heat up in the microwave or oven later. However, ready-heated food is also available, and a single container of curry/curries with rice is a popular choice for the lunchtime crowd. However it comes, I always find the food to be delicious! The owner and staff are really friendly and welcoming. We are lucky to have such a good, independent, take-away, located close to the university, in the Cotham / Kingsdown / Clifton area, and I hope to enjoy many more visits.

I'd heard great things about this place but I wasn't expecting it to be THIS good. Probably one of the best things I've put in my mouth ever. This is far cry from your standard Indian takeaway - don't expect your average korma or chicken tikka. They avoid the heavy amount of oil or ghee you often get in Indian restaurants over here, so the dishes are fresh, flavourful and healthy tasting. There are different options every day, including lots of vegan/veggie options, and each looks so good it's hard to choose. The solution is to order with a group of people and just get everything. The owners and the staff are also the nicest people and they have a loyal fan base. I've come here twice in the last few months and vowing to go again soon. Couple of points to note - it's takeaway only and they don't take card. But seriously, DO NOT MISS!!

We mixed two meet and vegetable dishes (a spinach and a lentil dish) having ordered the meet deal. We also upped the poppadoms and ordered two of the chutneys. (Wish we'd ordered more to keep in the fridge!) The flavours were fragrant and fresh. The chutney is just sensational. This place is 45 miles away from us but next time I fancy an Indian takeaway I would not hesitate to drive back there. We ate loads and didn't feel guilty afterwards because it felt quite healthy. I've been a student at the University of Bristol for a while now and have been meaning to eat at this place for ages (I pass it on the way to the co-op so frequently!). I thought I'd try it this evening. It was fairly quiet and the staff were very friendly. They asked me if it was my first time in Tiffin - I said yes - and then they explained how the menu works. I went for the small keema curry and rice (1/2 curry 1/2 rice, if you want the bigger portions they are £7.50 and you have to buy the rice separately, which is £2). I was then offered the choice of mixing my curry with vegetables - potatoes, black lentils, cabbage, paneer and a few more were on offer - so I chose to have paneer. The food was then microwaved and served in a plastic box accompanied by a fork. Yummy! Other options include chicken curry and vegetable curry (presumably mixing from the vegetable choices you can accompany the meat curries with).

Run by an absolutely lovely couple who are extremely polite. Their food is the best Indian food I have ever had.

Wonderful and distinctive curry, certainly not your average takeout. The owners are so lovely and friendly they made my 3yr old a special mix of curry for his first curry and it was on the house. Highly recommend.

A fantastic, authentic Take away. The menu is small, but the food and service are excellent. A lot of care and skill has gone into these dishes. £7 for a meat curry, rice and a naan cannot be argued with!

This is a family run Indian like no other. It caters primarily for take away but the owners cook their local Indian dishes that they eat daily and serve to us lucky customers. The choice is good minced lamb, chicken for meats and at least 5 vegetarian options from black eyed peas to corgette all cooked in wonderful sauces. The family are from Gugerati in India which is well known for their vegetarian style cooking, no oils and ghee. We had a meal for two which enabled us to choose a little of everything. The food is quite simply amazing - not a chicken tikka massala in sight thank goodness. The flavours and spices like I have never had before - this really is proper indian cooking - I felt honored to be trying it. we had Kulfi for pudding again homemade and quite simply amazing particularly the Mango one. All in all a wonderful find. The owners are charming and took a great deal of time explaining the dishes and there was a constant flow of locals coming in for take aways. The beauty is when I return you never quite know what will be on offer.

Been here on quite a few occasions and every time the food has been solidly consistent. Nick and Jay take pride in what they do and it shows in how they treat customers.

While randomly browsing Bristol for restaurants I notice that Tiffin's has only TWENTY reviews - how did this happen??This place is amazing, although there is only one table for sitting-in this is really a take-away but this does not diminish the quality. They sell themselves as a healthy Indian takeaway with a reduced amount of fat and oil in their food. There is a tasty selection available each day, and the owners are very friendly and kind, giving advice on what you might like and often giving away free popadoms and chapatis.Best things on the menu: saag paneer, murghi lamb, and every dahl they ever prepare.

We've been coming here for the last few years, and it has never disappointed. Whilst they have 2 meat dishes, there is a great vegetarian selection. The food is authentic tasting and delicious. Service is always very friendly and welcoming. By far the best Indian food in Bristol.

Owners Nick and Jay do two things very well. They have something interesting to say about their cuisine and they take every opportunity to do so (good for them) and they back it up by cooking and serving authentic Indian food that is a pleasure to eat.Visiting Bristol I rang for a lunchtime table. Nick immediately took the opportunity of describing his Gujarati cooking and why it was so different and so much healthier than other curries I might have eaten. And yes he did have a table, only one table as a matter of fact, and it was all mine, unless somebody else wanted it, in which case we might have to share. Tiffins is first and foremost a takeaway, a sort of tapas takeaway where you select with Nick's guidance from the dishes ranged before you. And, as I say, there's the table, so if you fancy a `stayhereaway' take a seat and a Cobra, and enjoy not only Jay's delicious dishes but the company and the banter from this warm and enthusiastic husband and wife team.

My Son and I came across Tiffins on a random wander through Bristol. Lovely Food, spotless premises, Decent and friendly people. I ate a lunch of Chicken curry, Minced Lamb, sag Paneer and rice and drove back to east anglia sustained, enlivened rather than sleepy and smiling. Thank you I will wander again.

Tiffins is one of my favourite authentic Indian restaurants in the South West. The food is crammed full of flavour, yet feel nutritious and nourishing. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.
