We were a family and friends group of 8 We greated with a warm welcome. Interesting task chutneys. We all enjoyed our choices of meals including one of us being Vegan. And they nicely packaged what we couldn't eat so we could take it home! I would highly recommend this restaurant

Fantastic food, very delicious and cooked to order. The chef was very busy jumping from pan to pan, there is no hiding behind doors here so you can be assured of the quality. Appreciated his efforts . You can taste this as it was very nice indeed. The staff were also great, our waiter was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. This place is popular so booking is a must, especially on weekends.

Went on a Saturday evening with friends. Delicious food and brilliant service - all of the staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was some of the best I’ve had. I particularly enjoyed the goan fish curry!

This is our 2nd time here. We brought our friends here as we rated this as the best Indian in Bristol. OMG how wrong were we tonight. Service was sooooo slow. We had to grab the attention of the waiter to ask if we could order. The poppadoms came out with a pickle tray. Pickles were not enough for 4. The starters came out but not together. They came out 1 by 1 but we had to wait for each 1. My lamb starter was burnt and tough so it was sent back. As we waited so long I didn't ask for another 1. Main course was fine. Flavours were good. Not sure we will go back. We are so embarrassed for our friends after saying how amazing this place is.

Love this restaurant, staff are super friendly and the food is beautiful! Third time visiting, have taken family and friends, great value for delicious food. Haven't tasted anything quite like it, the fish pakora are incredible! Can't wait to go again :)

We had a lovely meal at Namak. I had read the reviews as I was looking for an Indian restaurant that had some food on the menu that differed from the usual curries that you find at a lot of other places. The food is excellent with beautiful flavours and they have freshly made, light and crispy naans to go with the meals. The staff were really friendly with the perfect level of attentiveness. We'll certainly be returning to try some of the other dishes on the menu.

Unlike any Indian food I’ve ever had before. By far the best. The tandoori pineapple and chocolate samosas topped off a delicious evening.

Very good curry I must admit. Loads of classics on there, and some additional things to try. I had a fig naaaaan bread and it was delicious. Well worth a visit.

We came for dinner last night upon recommendation, the staff were friendly and they served good wine in decent wine glasses which makes a difference to most indian restaurants. The starters were by far the star of the show - the minced lamb naan being my absolute favorite, the onion bhaji and the scallop and prawn starter were also soooo delicious! The mains were somewhat bland i must say, the lamb shank was the best out of the bunch and my friend said the prawn curry was lovely but had more of a thai flavoring. Unfortunately they firstly forgot my lamb curry, a panicked waiter then gave me a lamb curry which was not mine ( i ordered lamb and spinach) by this point everyone was eating and i was hungry so i just kept it - it was very very bland unfortunately which was a shame as id asked for my original curry to be extra spicy aloso. The mushroom side was so good, i treated that as my curry. Gunpowder potatoes also what i was looking forward to were extremely salty!! We would've preferred to be sat away from the kitchen it was quite cramped. All in all, it was s good experience, i just wish a little more attention to detail and more flavorful with the mains.

Visited this place today. Loved the food. It is an award winning restaurant and i really had high expectations. They lived up to their expectations. Loved the food specially the prawn curry and biryani. Would highly recommend it and the lamb chops as well. The prawn curry was very creamy. Best authentic indian food in uk. Had a word with the chef who was kind and came up for a chat. For desert we ordered the chocolate samosa which was unique and tasty. Loved the exquisite interior as well. Would visit again for sure. The staff is friendly, efficient and the waiting time isn't much at all.

Was initially a bit worried about the lack of vegetarian options. As a group we ordered one of each of the vegetarian mains. They were all excellent. Really good meal with a wide range of flavours. Possibly the best nann bread ever.

I can safely safe that this is the best Indian Restaurant I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Because the menu contained so many dishes you would not find in a standard Indian restaurant, including a couple of beef options, it took me, and everyone else, a long time to make our choices. None of us had any real idea what to expect but that mattered little when the food arrived. The food was rich and flavoursome and had so many layers of flavour that left you wanting more. The food looked attractive too and you really wanted to eat it! There were seven of us and I have never eaten a meal where everyone was offering everyone else a sample of their own food because it was just so good. I think it was summed up by my brother-in-law when he said it was a wonderful meal and not just a wonderful Indian meal and somewhere you would recommend to anyone who just wanted a great meal out. Being a Saturday night, the place was packed but the service was excellent and friendly. Strongly Recommended.

We dropped in to try and order a takeaway and got a bit confused whether we could sit in and eat. So for most of our meal it was a mostly private meal. The food is excellent, lightly spiced and delicate. The starters were delicious, specially the naan with the lamb and pickles. Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in Bristol

Menu pushed me a little out of my comfort zone as there isn't some of the usual suspects on the menu, but all the food is fantastic. You'll find something you really enjoy, take a risk and have a new and wonderful food experience.

Tasty food, lovely staff, beautiful lavender hand cream... Would love more vegetarian options as proper currys as they do for meat ones (for example, a vegetable dansak, vegetable naga) basically any of the meat currys but vegetable option as us vegetarians do like to eat curry too🥺 but... Still nice food for the options that are available. Nice restaurant with a good atmosphere but a bit lacking on the vegetarian options. Luckily the chef catered to our veggie needs and whipped something out the bag before I lost my cool. Eaten here several times and would recommend to anyone for a great curry experience. P.S. The fig and coriander naan is out of this world and must order. 💫✨🤤 Thanks guys 🙏🏻

Absolutely fantastic meal. Completely surpassed our expectations. Cosy and low-key atmosphere and food was cooked to perfection. Loved the curried scallops and the mango and prawn curry was SENSATIONAL. We will definitely be back. Really very good indeed.

We went for a late Sunday lunch and it was very quiet, surprisingly! The food was amazing and the best Indian food I have had for a while. I tried the swordfish, delicious and had a peshwari nan which was probably the best I have had. My partner had Beef madras, equally lovely. The portions are good and so was the service. Music could have been a little quieter but I am sure they would have lowered it if I had asked. All round a great experience and would definitely go back.

A hidden gem .without doubt some of the best food,let alone indian, i have ever tasted and that is saying something as i have eaten all over india and the world in fine dining establishments ,from the service too to the decor , i loved this place ,treat yourself ,trust me ,then wander through St Werbergs there is so much to see ,before or after ,A true must taste foodie experience .the biryani is divine ,served like no other and the fish pakoras and curries exsquite,cant wait to go back and taste the rest of the menu .Go soon while you can get a table <3

First visit to Namak. What wonderful food and atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Freshly cooked, rich and full of flavour dishes were served on our third visit to this restaurant which does not disappoint! Service is quick and the waiters/waitresses well well-informed and polite. Background music was at times too intense and too modern. Not having anything against modern music in general but the choice was not very good in my opinion, a traditional Indian music or a more ambient style would certainly be more relaxing and generally a better fit and I could take half star of the review for this if there would be such an option. A must-place to visit and re-visit!

Namak is a gem in the St. Werburgh's community, and certainly amongst the top Indian restaurants in Bristol, if not the south west. They serve authentic dishes straight from the heart. The decor is smart and imaginative, as are the plates and drinks. The service was outstanding, friendly and knowledgeable. Big congrats to the team at Namak, will be back many times.

If you like Indian, you need to visit namak. Great food. The only con is that it is often too loud to have a long conversation.

This restaurant did not win best Indian restaurant and best restaurant in Bristol and other awards by accident, the food is truly outstanding, chef Harris makes sure that the dishes are authentic and everything is up to standards.

Since moving to Bristol from the Midlands, where curries are excellent, we've been to so many Indian restaurants with big ratings and have felt a bit let down. The food and service here are both absolutely fantastic, I'll definitely be coming back. Really glad to have found this place. Also baby and child friendly with a changing table and high chairs.

An *excellent* curry house. We ate here last weekend and were blown away by the quality of each dish. Considering they won numerous awards in 2022, it was great to see all their dishes reasonably priced. The lamb tikka and paneer tikka starters were delicious, followed by the swordfish curry and beef madras. Table service was quick and attentive, and the Head Chef even came out to ask us how our meal was. Thanks for having us guys 👍

We booked a large table at Namak and I messed up the numbers - despite this they were very accommodating and helpful. The food and the service were exceptional (I had the Kerala prawn curry which was fantastic). Food and drinks prices were all really good for the quality and we will definitely be back. We're so lucky to have this beautiful restaurant on our doorstep. I had the tandoori chicken and it was absolutely sublime! The flavours are fresh and exciting, you could really taste the smoky tandoor goodness. The staff are so friendly and polite. I can't highly recommend this place enough.

We have eaten in and had takeaway a few times and we have never been disappointed. The staff are friendly and will make recommendations. The food is very tasty and authentic, our favourite is Karahi Murgh.

We visited Namak after a recommendation from a friend and it was lovely! Samosas and seekh kebabs are amazing for starters, makhini for mains and the chocolate samosas are delicious!! We will be back 100% Reasonably priced too and service is great and friendly, we felt at ease taking out new baby in there :-) Thank you!!

Namak were recommended to me on Reddit's Bristol subreddit and I decided to take my son there for his birthday as he's a huge fan of curry. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table, with menus and then drinks efficiently provided. I make my son a lot of curry from scratch at home so I have some knowledge. Plus we seem to find the same standard of curry in many BIRs which is OK but wouldn't tick the box for a celebratory dinner. Namak ticked every box, the meals were fantastic, the best curry we've ever had. Its also nice to be able to see the staf at work in their kitchen preparing meals and also for the owner and head chef to come and personally check we were all enjoying our food (oh and how we were!). The final touch was that we happened to mention we were on our first visit for our sons birthday and out of the blue they presented him an Indian dessert, something akin to a creme brulee and really delicious! I can't wait for my birthday as we will definitely book in again, it's absolutely worth the trip down from where we live out near Malmesbury. Well deserved 5 stars!

Had a wonderful meal here! The chef coped brilliantly producing dosa after dosa freshly cooked for our table. Felt like the menu was full of surprises, unusual flavours, authentic dishes. Fantastic food, presented well, and tastes genuinely nice and not the 'normal' UK Indian menu food. Have visited a few times and never disappointed. Service can be a little slow, but otherwise no complaints at all.

PHC Parts went for their works Christmas meal here last weekend. There were over 30 of us, so a big group to serve. The food was superb. The service excellent. We will definitely come here again. A huge thanks to Harris and his crew.

Not surprising that this is up for several awards. Menu has many dishes not often seen on Indian restaurant menus. Strong South Indian influences. Great to see different home made chutneys with poppadoms and a real pleasure to have a locally brewed beer on draught (brewery is only 100 yards away!). Thoroughly enjoyable evening and we will be back.

Ordered a takeaway in the restaurant in person. After waiting over an hour without a phone call, I went back to pick up but was told that there was a mistake and they forgot to give my order to the kitchen, so I had to wait another 45 minutes. I took a cash refund instead. Staff were very apologetic and the food that everyone else was eating looked delicious!

The best restaurant award is well deserved based on the fantastic food we ate.we are vegetarian and whilst there isn't loads of vegetarian main dish options, the tandoori aubergine is delicious. The chana massala side was incredible, never tasted anything like it. Beautifully spiced and all round the food and drink was high quality with attention to detail. Lovely staff as well completed the experience. Will be back for sure
