We had a great time at Namak for my wife's surprise birthday dinner. Namak were very accommodating and somehow managed to squeeze 18 of us into a private room upstairs. The food was amazing and they were flexible with our food and drink requests. Prashant and Mayank especially took good care of us throughout the evening. Overall, it was a v fun place for her birthday celebration. Would recommend Namak if you've got a big group and want delicious food with a warm service.

Outstanding food. Can never go to a mainstream Indian restaurant ever again. The var has been set high. Amazing seafood and salmon.

Recently i visited namak restraurt. I had great experience of healthy and nice food.

Had dinner last night. Great food loved the lamb tikka and fish pakora - best starter. Highly recommend lamb tikka. Fish was nice crispy and battered. We ordered the lamb chops and it was very tender and juicy. Paired with salad and sauce made the perfect combination. The rajasthani lamb curry is one of the classic and would come back for this one and the garlic naan. Good service. All staff was very attentive. Manager was helpful in picking the best from the menu. Thanks to chef for good food as they also comply with allergies. They really are best indian restaurant in Bristol.

Wow , what a meal and dinner last night. We had one of the best curry meal in UK. It was amaaaaaazing. The flavour profile perfectly matched to one back in India. The taste, texture presentation was outstanding. You don't have to travel to India anymore. India is in Bristol and at Namak. Couldn't fault it it all. Grear team and chefs. Loved it !!!!!!!!!!!!

Arrived 20 minutes early for a 6pm booking and we were seated right away. Service was quick, staff were polite and attentive and carried out their work with a smile. The food was absolutely incredible, even down to the sauces and chutneys served with the poppadums, which were well beyond the bog standard variety many places choose to provide. Prices were extremely fair, don't forget to tip your waiters because they do a great job ;) If you are a fan of Indian food and curry then do yourself a favour and book a table at Namak.

Really quite surprised at just how bad the food was tonight. We ordered a variety of items via Uber Eats, a Dosa, tandoori lamb starter, Poussin tandoori, rice and the fish pakora. Everything cooked tandoori was massively overdone. The Poussin was so dry it was inedible. The lamb was tough as old boots. The prawns in the dosa, rubbery and even the naan was way too overpowering with garlic and im a huge lover of the stuff. I can appreciate we all have off nights for certain items but everything was shocking which is a shame as everything on the menu sounded delicious. Will I give them a second chance? Absolutely not. Especially when we have other brilliant Indian restaurants in Bristol. Namak 1/10

Bit hit and miss for me - poppadoms and homemade pickles great, big portion. Poussin tikka also great, but not really sure about the salad and two dips, which were similar to the poppadom accompaniment. Goan fish curry was more of a soup, and the naan were a bit on the small side. Overall the flavours were great, as was wiper and true on tap. Would try the lamb tikka and starters next time which looks fantastic.

Without a doubt the best experience I've had at an Indian in Bristol. Thought I'd try ordering some something that wasn't a curry, the lamb chops, and they were absolutely delicious. I will not longer be sticking to curries when I go to an Indian now!

This place was recommended by a friend as being award-winning. It's a real gem and the food is indeed excellent. The portions are just right (e.g. no excessive rice), service is quick and pricing is reasonable. I'll definitely return in the future.

Breath of fresh air, most attentive staff of any Indian I've ever been to coupled with a 5 star menu. Brilliant.

Amazing flavours in both curries and tandoori meat, the naans were also very good. We did think that the lamb tandoori meat whilst very fragrant and deliciously seasoned, was too dry. It would also be nice if they had one non alcoholic beer option, it's super popular nowadays with people drinking less but still liking the taste. Still, the food was very good, the staff were attentive, prices very reasonable - I would definitely come again!

We only liked their Brinjal sabji but I had very high expectations due to the reviews plus awards on their wall but unfortunately the food wasn't up to the standard. My daughter loves the authentic dosa and sambhar but the sambar was sweet like sugar which the server said it was north Indian taste and am Gujarati who disliked that sweet taste just imagine. Hence if you have a sweet tooth more than us go there and namak(salt) had less of namak. You will also go out with Indian masala infused in all of your clothing due to cringed space and lack of good quality kitchen exhaust system. We had travelled from South Wales for a special occasion mentioned during reservation but won't make it again as the service and food isn't special. They have hard working servers for a busy restaurant which I had noticed their main customers are non-Indian as after the experience I realised that if Indians go there they won't be back again for their food.

Feeling very full and happy after eating her with friends! I highly recommend the tandoori lamb chops.

It is really worth going out of your way to eat here. A very special Indian restaurant - definitely a league above the rest with a great menu of speciality dishes pleasing vegan, vegetarian and meat eaters and an open kitchen where you can watch the magic being created!

Excellent relaxed service, really tasty food.

Had a great dinner at this restaurant! The flavors were rich and authentic. My favorite was the lamb chop, so flavorful! I tried my friends’ dishes and everything tasted super fresh, like it was made to order. It took a bit longer, but it was worth the wait!

Brilliant service by Valessa and Prashant. Lauki kofta curry and Garlic Naan was very tasty, thank chefs Harris and Suresh!!

Menu pushed me a little out of my comfort zone as there isn't some of the usual suspects on the menu, but all the food is fantastic. You'll find something you really enjoy, take a risk and have a new and wonderful food experience.

Outstanding in every respect. I love restaurants like this that push the boundaries and what flavour, range and quality of food. Quite amazing. How has it taken us so long to find you! We will be back and enjoy again soon.

Its over hyped, starters were fine but main course was disappointing. Service was ok, and parking is big issue. You easily cant find place to park. Also its expensive as per quality, quantity and taste.

Excellent Indian, definitely the best we've had in Bristol. We decided to get a takeaway and, despite Uber making a major mess of it, once the food arrived it did not disappoint. Because of the delivery issues, I had several conversations with the restaurant who were friendly and quick to resolve an issue that wasn't their fault. Thank you, we'll be back to sit in next time!!!

Without a doubt the best Indian take away I have ever had. The fish pakora was simply amazing all of the food was better than home made will only order from here from now on

Starters were amazingly good , great taste and presentation but the main courses were disappointing and at £14-15 each, very expensive. I ordered pork chop vindaloo but they came back and told me they had run out of pork chops so suggested lamb instead? I ended up with Lamb vindaloo which wasn’t anywhere near hot ( spicy) enough for me. The Lamb curries my friends had were bland and the sauce was thick and stodgy. The prawn/ Mango curry was bright green and not very fruity. We all left a large portion of our food. Rice was good but it should be shouldn’t it? Service was friendly but they seemed very busy and there were delays in ordering. Lots of take aways going out the door made it a bit busy and it wasn’t very relaxing environment. Sadly we were dissapointed with Namak. Guess we just expected such high standard and it didn’t achieve. Sorry. Next time we will order a selection of starters only.

Fantastic experience, food was immaculate, friendly and prompt service. Was our first time here but certainly not our last.

I came here for the first time last night, as my dad and I were looking for somewhere nearby to eat in my new neighbourhood. Oh my god, everything was amazing, but the Mixed Seafood Moilee was life-changingly delicious. A hidden gem in St Werburgh's, and I've yet to find anywhere better across the whole city. Will be back many times I'm sure!

I'm puzzled by the number of 5 star reviews since, as a hardened Indian food appreciator, I found the dishes we had to be, at best, mediocre. The service was reasonable and friendly, which is important. The food was pleasant enough, though nothing extraordinary. My 'madras' dish, as a main course, did not taste like any madras I've had before, and this was not a good thing! Overall, I was disappointed by this place, and yearn for the 'Kathmandu' take-away that I used to use in Bristol 20 years ago. I'm sorry that I could not be more positive, but this is my honest opinion.

The best Indian meal I’ve had. Went with my son and husband mid week and had a feast. Highly recommend the biriyani which comes with a nan baked on the top and a delicious gravy in the side so don’t be tempted to order an extra. The pickles with the popadums were so different from the usual. If you decide to book I suggest you phone rather than do it on-line as I don’t think they check their website.

Nice Staff with Tasty Indian Food

wonderfully authentic, very friendly (also when coming with a toddler) and exquisite! I recommend the Masala Dosa, they are exactly like in South India where I got to love them so much (as a breakfast actually). The displayed rewards (best restaurant of Bristol in 2022 and 23) seem well deserved.

Since opening in 2022, Namak has won a host of awards, and that’s not a huge surprise when you find out Owner & Head Chef Harris previously co-owned Rock Salt and worked for Dishoom. Dishes are inspired by the many the regions of India, with familiar flavours alongside unique signature dishes. We tried a mixture, including: 🤍 Poppadoms, homemade chutney & pickles 🤍 Lahsooni Scallops & Prawn 🤍 Beef ki Shaami 🤍 Onion Pakora 🤍 Murg Makhani 🤍 Chicken Dum Biryani 🤍 Chicken Masala Dosa 🤍 Dal 🤍 Peshwari Naan 🤍 Garlic Naan 🤍 Gulab Jamun Embarrassing confession time… I’d never eaten a biryani before my trip to Namak! 🙈 I’m a creature of habit and usually always get a bhuna when I go for Indian. But if you’re going to try one, then of course it has to be when it comes with an edible lid that you have to cut open! What a spectacle (and it tasted great too) 🤩 Similarly Mr E.E had never had a dosa before! I’m a big fan though which is why we ordered one, and that was probably our joint favourite dish. I’m a dal obsessive and that was probably my other favourite - I pretty much demolished the lot by myself 😅 Madame is a garlic naan fanatic, and when I asked her what she thought it was a ‘two thumbs up, best naan ever’ from her 👍 Service was great, they had Wiper & True available and B was loving the animals painted on the walls and the foliage on our tables 🍃 Next time I wouldn’t take her as even the toned down Makhani wasn’t quite mild enough for her, but if you’re a spice lover like I am you’re in for a treat!

We were a family and friends group of 8 We greated with a warm welcome. Interesting task chutneys. We all enjoyed our choices of meals including one of us being Vegan. And they nicely packaged what we couldn't eat so we could take it home! I would highly recommend this restaurant

We book on Easter Monday for 8 of us .we were warmly welcomed. The chutneys were delicious and unique. Our meals were really tasty an Not oily . The was also a choice of local beers as well as the usual ones 5 stars!

I had heard good things about this place, so decided to visit with my family. The waiter we had couldn’t do enough for us, spending quite some time explaining dishes and offering suggestions to us. When the food arrived we weren’t disappointed, it was delicious. If you are a fan of Indian food this place is a must .my taste buds were having a party, This place is amazing. Every dish had its own unique flavour and was absolutely delicious! Wow!

Worst restaurant experience in Bristol. Would NEVER recommend anyone to go there. The head chef is very rude. The staff are equally ill-mannered and NOT customer-friendly at all. Their food menu says something and they say something else. The staff are confused and unaware of what is in the menu and the prices. Their prices do not match with the quantity of the food at all. The menu is very misleading. The miscommunication among the staff and the customers may often lead to a great deal of problem. Not only did they mess up the entire order, but also they were being disrespectful in every aspect. Not worth the money. Had ordered but left without having the food because of their disrespectful behaviour. Utterly disappointed and disgusted. Clearly not the “5 times award winning” restaurant that they claim to be.

The service is very poor and they tried to mislead us. There is no co-operation between the staffs and the chefs. They cannot even explain their own menu. It was highly disappointing and would never recommend anyone to go.

Fantastic food, very delicious and cooked to order. The chef was very busy jumping from pan to pan, there is no hiding behind doors here so you can be assured of the quality. Appreciated his efforts . You can taste this as it was very nice indeed. The staff were also great, our waiter was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. This place is popular so booking is a must, especially on weekends.

Went on a Saturday evening with friends. Delicious food and brilliant service - all of the staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was some of the best I’ve had. I particularly enjoyed the goan fish curry!

I've eaten here previously and it was excellent! This time, it was even better. I love their cuisine. So fresh, tasty and fragrant! Harris and the team have a great offering, and I highly recommend this place. Their tandoori chicken and lamb starters are my go-to, along with their lamb shank and Korma curry. We have ordered sheek kabab,Masala dosa stuffed with potato,Mutton biriyani,and Gulab jamun with ice cream 🍨 All dishes were delicious and we loved it. Will definitely visit again. Customer service and ambience are amazing.

This was the first time at Namak for dinner. The atmosphere of the restaurant was excellent with right lighting and spacious table set up. I tried starters, main course and dessert. All the items that, I tried was nicely presented and superb in taste. I have been to multiple restaurants and, I will rate Namak as the best. Friendly staff and excellent Head chef who personally came and checked if everything is okay. Well done Namak team.

This was our 2nd time here.Tonight the service was sooo slow. My starter which was lamb was burnt and tough, which I sent back. Starters did not come out together and we were a table of 4. Embarrassing. Mains were OK. The table next to us was not cleared for the entire time we were there. Namak what went wrong....????

This is our 2nd time here. We brought our friends here as we rated this as the best Indian in Bristol. OMG how wrong were we tonight. Service was sooooo slow. We had to grab the attention of the waiter to ask if we could order. The poppadoms came out with a pickle tray. Pickles were not enough for 4. The starters came out but not together. They came out 1 by 1 but we had to wait for each 1. My lamb starter was burnt and tough so it was sent back. As we waited so long I didn't ask for another 1. Main course was fine. Flavours were good. Not sure we will go back. We are so embarrassed for our friends after saying how amazing this place is.

Banging food, attentive service and a sweet vibe.

Unlike any Indian food I’ve ever had before. By far the best. The tandoori pineapple and chocolate samosas topped off a delicious evening.

We came for dinner last night upon recommendation, the staff were friendly and they served good wine in decent wine glasses which makes a difference to most indian restaurants. The starters were by far the star of the show - the minced lamb naan being my absolute favorite, the onion bhaji and the scallop and prawn starter were also soooo delicious! The mains were somewhat bland i must say, the lamb shank was the best out of the bunch and my friend said the prawn curry was lovely but had more of a thai flavoring. Unfortunately they firstly forgot my lamb curry, a panicked waiter then gave me a lamb curry which was not mine ( i ordered lamb and spinach) by this point everyone was eating and i was hungry so i just kept it - it was very very bland unfortunately which was a shame as id asked for my original curry to be extra spicy aloso. The mushroom side was so good, i treated that as my curry. Gunpowder potatoes also what i was looking forward to were extremely salty!! We would've preferred to be sat away from the kitchen it was quite cramped. All in all, it was s good experience, i just wish a little more attention to detail and more flavorful with the mains.

Visited this place today. Loved the food. It is an award winning restaurant and i really had high expectations. They lived up to their expectations. Loved the food specially the prawn curry and biryani. Would highly recommend it and the lamb chops as well. The prawn curry was very creamy. Best authentic indian food in uk. Had a word with the chef who was kind and came up for a chat. For desert we ordered the chocolate samosa which was unique and tasty. Loved the exquisite interior as well. Would visit again for sure. The staff is friendly, efficient and the waiting time isn't much at all.

Was initially a bit worried about the lack of vegetarian options. As a group we ordered one of each of the vegetarian mains. They were all excellent. Really good meal with a wide range of flavours. Possibly the best nann bread ever.

I can safely safe that this is the best Indian Restaurant I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Because the menu contained so many dishes you would not find in a standard Indian restaurant, including a couple of beef options, it took me, and everyone else, a long time to make our choices. None of us had any real idea what to expect but that mattered little when the food arrived. The food was rich and flavoursome and had so many layers of flavour that left you wanting more. The food looked attractive too and you really wanted to eat it! There were seven of us and I have never eaten a meal where everyone was offering everyone else a sample of their own food because it was just so good. I think it was summed up by my brother-in-law when he said it was a wonderful meal and not just a wonderful Indian meal and somewhere you would recommend to anyone who just wanted a great meal out. Being a Saturday night, the place was packed but the service was excellent and friendly. Strongly Recommended.

We dropped in to try and order a takeaway and got a bit confused whether we could sit in and eat. So for most of our meal it was a mostly private meal. The food is excellent, lightly spiced and delicate. The starters were delicious, specially the naan with the lamb and pickles. Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in Bristol

Tasty food, lovely staff, beautiful lavender hand cream... Would love more vegetarian options as proper currys as they do for meat ones (for example, a vegetable dansak, vegetable naga) basically any of the meat currys but vegetable option as us vegetarians do like to eat curry too🥺 but... Still nice food for the options that are available. Great staff and service 🙏🏼the atmosphere is warm and inviting, had some good laughs with the waiters serving us as well My partner and I will be back for sure! Thanks Namak🙏🏼
