Very nice owner/staff, service charge system but the food is fairly good. It's a little bit pricey, but all in all well worth a visit.

This place was an absolute delight. Delicious food and wonderful, friendly service. One of our sons has a severe nut allergy, and as such, we've never contemplated taking him for an Indian meal out or ordered in for him. Nut free, this place is a real find. We're so pleased our son (and indeed the whole family) can finally enjoy an Indian meal out without worry.

Outstanding service especially for those with food allergies. Our servers and hosts were extremely careful in finding us safe dishes to eat, and the food itself was incredibly good. We even came back the very next night for another dinner, but we learned our lesson and got two orders of onion bhaji this time. We enjoyed chicken tikka masala, garlic & coriander naan, chole, saag aloo, onion bhaji, and basmati rice. The hostess recognized us on our second visit and remembered our food allergies. Everyone was extremely kind and welcoming to the visiting Americans. Highly recommended.

Great Saturday night dinner. It was a very busy restaurant but we managed to snag the last table for 4 and were very glad we did. Fast, friendly service and a buzzy atmosphere with lots of happy eaters chatting in the background. The decor is bright and fun. Best of all, the food was really good! A good mix of traditional mains and smaller plates at very reasonable prices. We can recommend the samosa, Manchurian chicken, chicken momos, lamb rogan josh and the dall but would bet you wouldn't go wrong with most things on the menu.

In comparison to all other Indian restaurants in Bristol I can confidently say that "Dhamaka" is the worst yet ( I have been to 6 of them). Had a Cauliflower Manchurian (VG) for starters: The worst I ever tasted. In main course I had Vindaloo with Naan. The amazing staff of the Restaurant served us all the Naan instantly with food, hence as a result the they became hard as a rubber in minutes. Vindaloo also tasted below average. Had to give 2 stars to the service as everyone around the globe serve better , there is nothing especial in their service - except that you had to ask for water multiple times. Such a Waste of my hard earned £30 Never Going Back thats for sure. ------------------------------------------------------------ Would prefer Crispy Dosa restaurant over Dhamaka every time.

We had the most wonderful meal at Dhamaka. Not only was the food excellent, but the staff were so kind. They allowed us to bring my family's very small, well behaved dog (who was visiting Bristol for the first time, and so we couldn't leave her on her own at home). It was my oldest son's birthday celebration and we had a fantastic evening. We shall definitely go again!

The food was good but the service wasn’t. There is a time limit of 1.5 hrs and it’s not mentioned when you book the table. I wanted to order Vegetable momos but was told that it would take 45 mins to come. How does that work if the table is available for 1.5 hrs only? The starters and mains were good but we didn’t even have enough time to order desserts. The servers/waiters were hovering over our table and kept asking if we have finished. We went there to have a good time but were rushed to finish food. It’s such a shame that despite the food being good, we didn’t have a good experience.

Booked a table for 7:15 for 5 people and we ended up running late after an event and they called us twice to check if we were still coming for food, we apologised but they still kept our table reserved for us. The food was soooo delicious! Great vegetarian and vegan options too! And when we were leaving we started singing happy birthday to my partner and the waitress came over and asked if we’d like to come back in for some birthday cake. We agreed and they played a birthday song for him and gave us the cake for free and a birthday card. We made sure to give them an extra big tip for that. The staff were all super friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was great. Just a little warning incase anyone has dodgy knees, the toilets are down some stairs and are just a tiny bit steep. Other than that everything was great! 🥰

Went here with the wife in October for a trial run prior to a visit with seven former work colleagues on our annual reunion in January. On both occasions this was brilliant. On the second visit, I'd booked the table for 8 people in advance and it was ready and waiting. Our drinks were quickly brought and orders for food were taken swiftly. Not a huge choice (good sign). We ordered 8 mains, 4 rice and 4 naans and the food was terrific - maybe slightly spicy for some, but very tasty.

We chose this place over the Nutmeg for our dinner yesterday. But unfortunately was a disappointment. The dining hall was clean, plates and other cutlery were warm. Everything was fine except the glasses. We did not book in advance but were accommodated by the staff. My wife wanted to have momos and I wanted to have dahi papdi chaat. The former was not there and the later was not papdi chaat. Instead it was fafda/ghati ka chaat that too without diced boiled potatoes and no or very very less mint chutney (edible though). I felt the chickpeas in it were canned. Though we wanted to have naan and some curry we refrained from it after having the chaat. (Someone beside has ordered butter naan...it looked great though). I had ordered a Hyderabadi chicken biryani. It was served with raita and some biryani sauce?? The biryani was flavourful with long and fluffy rice and seasoned well. It had good quantity of chicken to rice, well cooked and juicy chicken. It is not Hyderabadi biryani though. Being from Hyderabad, I could not appreciate it. Its just some boneless chicken biryani. The sauce was another downfall. It was so tangy and unpalatable. Its neither kurma nor salan nor serva. Its something else. But the efforts of serving biryani in authentic way should be appreciated. We did not want to have anything else after the initial disappointment. It was a disappointment on our anniversary.

This was the most delicious indian food I've eaten in a very long while. I had the Samosa Chaat for starter, which was a simply wonderful mixture of textures and tastes, and my partner ordered Chicken Manchurian. This was gorgeous too although we realised at the same time as our server that we had received the cauilfower version by mistake. ( Cauliflower and chicken chunks look much the same in a rich, dark sauce! ) We were given the chicken dish as well and they were both really good. But my favourite (just) was the Cheemen Mappas main course which was huge prawns in a gently spiced and creamy cocnut sauce. Utterly gorgeous. I really recommend that you try it. Delightful service and good value too.
