Such great food - truly authentic Indian food, best I’ve found in Bristol!

The Chilli Gobi is incredible! I only had a drink and one small plate as I wasn't hungry, but I will certainly be back.

First in for lunch so quiet. Service was attentive without being fussy. Food was fresh and good. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Vishu sadya was fabulous! It felt like I was home eating my mum's food 🥹 lovely ambience and lovely people running the restaurant. Can't wait to be back to try more Kerala fare!

Came for lunch as it was somewhere my partner had seen and I was really glad he had as it was fabulous. Service was fantastic and food delicious. Had the lamb nan which was the best I’ve had, bread was so light. I had a chicken street curry which was really tasty and well spiced. Will definitely come back, a real treat

Some may argue that food is the most basic level of survival. But to to turn that into an art form is a skill of the highest proportion. I did not just eat a curry this evening; I ate food passed down the generations that was of the highest standard of authenticity. I do not say this lightly when I pronounce this the best curry in Bristol. My highest regards go to the chefs and the service staff who do there most to uphold this esteemed establishment. Five stars.

Popped in for lunch with a friend and loved it! Delicious masala dosa and lassi, as good as anywhere I’ve been in India. Fish tawa and parotha delicious too. Can’t wait to go back.

Brilliant southern Indian food outlet. Easily one of the best in Bristol. All the dishes we ordered were delicious and tasty. It was not greasy. All freshly made to order. They don't use readymade sauces to prepare the dishes. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Mr. Vipin's suggestions were spot on especially the fish (tawa) and lamb dishes. The cook caters to your palate, so do make your choices especially with spicy / chilli heat (mild, moderate etc.)

First visit here, bit concerned as it was empty when we arrived, but it was early. And it did fill up. Food was superb, service lovely and friendly. All in all, delicious. Would certainly recommend and I hope it's still here next time I visit my friends in Bishopston. Not the best picture but it was all very tasty, and the flavours subtle

Good food, had a wide selection between the 3 of us, idli, masala dosa, chicken masala, vadai, chicken thali and poppadoms. All was good, with a drink we paid about £25 each.

We had the Samosa, samosa chaat, chilli gobi, mango lassi, Hyderabadi Baingan and garlic naan and I have glowing reviews to give about all of these dishes. All the dishes had a well-balanced and authentic taste, really well prepared and of excellent quality! The staff was extremely friendly and the service was super quick. I usually never leave reviews, but I’ve been to so many Indian restaurants in Bristol and London and I must say that this is the best Indian restaurant I’ve come across in England so far (as a vegetarian). It was such a warm and comforting experience to have a meal here. Will definitely be coming again and be trying their dessert because that has great reviews as well!

Food was really good !! Being a South Indian I’d agree the flavours are very authentic and delicious!! Ordered the tawa fish which was rich in flavour (similar to Ghee roast chicken) and the beef parotha combo- beef was well cooked ! Loved it.. also heard it’s one of the nicest Indian restaurants in Bristol !

Went in on a quiet Sunday night with my husband. Lovely staff, well-priced menu and delicious meal. What more can you ask for? We will be back.

Ate here recently with some friends. I had the thali which is all chosen out for you before, was very nice. Food was tasty and it was nice to try new things. Wish you had more of a choice on what you got with this though or at least told what you would get before it comes out :)

This is one restaurant we’ve frequented twice within the past 2 weeks. Basically walked in once and were spellbound by the delicious food that was served. Would definitely recommend the Kerala beef curry with porontha. The food was served quickly and nice and fresh. Suitable portions too. The ambience is great if one has a liking for Indian music. Would definitely visit again. Wishing the crew a very Happy New Year.

Nice place to dine out, be it by yourself or with family or friends. The staff is very friendly and cheerful and attentive to your needs. The food too is tasty and satisfying. The overall atmosphere is very good.

Went for brunch at Salkaraa. There was no one in the restaurant except us. Ordered masala dosa; it was below average. The coconut chutney did not taste fresh, and the sambar needs improvement. The porotta beef combo was okay but was overpriced for just 2 porottas. The non-veg thali was also below average; the portion is very small for the price. Charging extra for rice was not expected.

The restaurant is nicely decorated and the service was good. The starters were good: tawa fish (bit spicy), samosa chat (very big so worth the money) and chicken 65. My partner had the lamb curry and pilau rice, and his friend had the fish. They both enjoyed it. I had the chicken thali. I liked the variety of being able to try the different dishes. HOWEVER, the portion for me was on the smaller side. There were only 4 pieces of chicken in the MAIN dish. Was disappointed with that. For £15 not worth it. Otherwise, enjoyed.

Great place with excellent food. The ambiance and service was very good. Our waitress Catherine was very delightful and the recommended street lamb curry is a must try. 10/10 experience and definitely worth a visit :)

A fantastic place gave us indian vibe. After the first visit you will go back again for sure. Definitely try malabar biryani, South Indian Talli and end with gajar halwa….😍😍😍.

Second time eating at Salkaara Street and the food was just as excellent as the first time. Portion sizes are perfect, not too much, like you get in some Indian restaurants and the flavours are brilliant. Service was also wonderful and the waiters/waitresses are very friendly and polite. Will definitely be going back again!

If you, like me, ever wondered or wanted to discover Indian Street Food-this is the place. Gorgeous interior, quick service and .. gorgeous food! Highly recommend this place for brunch, but be aware coffee is not an option here, but lovely masala chai. So, grab coffee someone else while you are on the way here and enjoy your brunch with a lovely cup of chai. Dosa has different options, but we followed staf recommendation - Masala Dosa (it has mash potato like filling) and you get 3 sides: 2 cold, 1 hot. It is massive! I was too hungry to share, but .. maybe it is an option if you are just pekish. Enjoy!

One of the best Indian cuisine in Bristol. I have enjoyed every bit of it. We have ordered Thali, it was yummy😋 such a friendly staff and very good environment. I highly recommend for every Indian and other nationalities who crave for traditional Indian meals.

My favourite restaurant in Bristol. I literally go here to eat alone on ordinary days just to have the food, it's so affordable that it works out cheaper than buying all the ingredients to make a balanced meal from co-op nearby. But we also go here for birthdays and special occasions. They have the best Masala Dosa, it's less than £8 and fills you up all day. Also the staff are treating you like family and that they are happy to see you, in this way, it is like being in India. More people should eat lunch here because then you would only need a light dinner and it only works out a few pounds more than a meal deal from a supermarket which has way less nutritional value.

Excellent delicious foods. Special mention for ‘non veg Thali and meen pollichath’. Will surely visit again.

Good food. I liked the prawn curry ( I don't remember the exact name of the dish), it was really good. And so was the Kerela parota. I would suggest do not opt for north Indian dishes, it's not their speciality anyways. Staff was really good and well behaved. Price was reasonable. The ambience is very nice. Bollywood numbers playing and good lighting. It feels like a nice place to be in. Location is good, street parking may be a little difficult to find as it is a busy street.

Visited this place a few months ago. Tried their chicken thali. Everything was completely bland. Roti was a store bought. Would not recommend trying thali here.

Good food. Nice options. Our order was messed up a bit, but the staff was friendly and apologised. Because it would have taken longer to get the correct order, we had what was served which was good as well. Overall good experience and will visit again.

Service was great! But food is just average. £13.5 for thali without a fried item or paneer dish seemed pricey. The quantity was very less too. Thali included a cup of rice, one roti, small papad, dhal, veg curry, potato fry, cabbage coconut thoran (tasted old), namesake raitha and teeny tiny cup of payasam. Except for veg curry, nothing stood out in thali. Bhatura was super oily. Chilli gobi was the one dish we enjoyed.

Absolutely delicious food. The masala dhosas are perfect and so reasonably priced. And the egg bhajis - wow! It’s my new favourite place to eat. Great service too from very friendly staff.

I ordered takeaway from them recently and they started sending me spam text messages using the number I left for the takeaway order. It is possible to opt out - but they shouldn't be sending unasked for marketing text messages in the first place. It also looks like they sold or gave my number to another restaurant (Talwar Express) in Bristol, who I have never ordered from or been to, but which started sending me text messages I can't opt out from. They have very similar website design and website text so I'm guessing they are owned by the same people.

Too expensive, small portions! Went for a Eid meal with family, the portions were not even enough for one person with only 3-4 pieces of chicken. Went home with an upset stomach. Do not recommend

Have walked past this place so many times. Came here for lunch today and already can’t wait to go back. Everything we had was delicious - in particular the Thali and the aubergine curry. Not just your normal curry house - much better!

Don’t try the Nepalese momos, will not meet your expectations if you have ever had Nepalese Momos.

We had dinner here on a beautiful Bristol evening, searching for flavourful sustenance. On arrival we were promptly seated by our lovely waitress Anna - the restaurant has funky Bollywood film posters on the walls, plenty of seating and a relaxed ambience. The food was fantastic, filled with interesting warm spicy flavours; lots of reasonably priced little dishes to graze on, all served nicely, without being too fussy. The spicy potato dish was delicious, as was the prawn curry. Fresh fluffy naan breads of every variety emerged throughout the meal. The service had a very laid back informal vibe which puts you at ease. I would definitely come here again!

My son sampled five different street food dishes and a naan and shared them between us. I drank Indian lager and my son yogurt. We found the food mixed beautifully between the spicy and hot and managed to pretty well clear all the plates. If you enjoy authentic Indian and Nepalese food this is for you

Tasty food, but disappointing portion sizes.

Fantastic meal. We had the Tawa fish to start followed by a dosa and a Chicken Thali. We asked for this to be a bit spicier than usual and it was great. Amazing service too - very friendly bunch! We will be back soon...

We happened to stumble upon this by chance. Excellent Indian food and it is not just the street food snacks but Dosa was also very good . It was slightly busy and there was a small delay in the food but once the food came it was worth it- proper desi style. I infact started eating with my hands . We could see customers enjoying thalis and will be back soon to check them out.

Starters and drinks were good, we had the lollipop chicken and chilli gobi. Mains were paneer makhani and Punjabi butter chicken, they good but tasted very similar. Service was a bit all over the place and atmosphere was average

Went here for the first time as we were looking for some lunch. Lovely menu. Small but had a good choice of variety I had the tikka masala and my husband had the Thattukada beef curry with pilau rice . Garlic nann was lovely. The food was delicious, nicely cooked rice. The only downside was there was no baby changing mat. I had to do it on a table with my changing mat underneath my baby. It didn't have any space for a proper changing table in the bathroom but they could just buy a basic portable mat which doesn't cost a lot and have it in the bathroom ready for the mums to use

Discovered this place yesterday and had to go back again today as it was sooo good! The taste, the quality of food and the service is all amazing, my 6 yr old son said we need to do a review and give them 5 stars! We all loved it Im Asian and I’m fussy about my curry, this place feels like home food which I love! My new curry house from now on 😊

Delicious dosa and biryani, friendly staff

Went with a friend for 1st time and food was excellent but a bit on the cold side. Served on a platter so was cooling down by time it arrived at our table.

Very average food.. Fried Idly and chicken 65 were disappointing - tasted like they were fried multiple times. No freshness. Bhel puri was not fun! Channa batura was very average too. Dosa was a BIG NO. Lamb biriyani and parotta were little acceptable, but still not great.

We went in around 9pm on a Saturday night, two families. Food order was taken quickly, but the main food got delivered only around 10:30pm. Would have preferred to have a more quicker service. Staff were kind and courteous. Taste of the food was not to my expectation, probably because we were two Indian families (South Indian and North Indian) and all the dishes we ordered were ok, authenticity was somehow missing. A quicker service and adding a bit more authenticity to the taste of the food would help. Ambience and cleanliness were good!

I lo this place. It serves traditional south Indian food. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. We go once a month for a leisurely lunch.
