Popped in for breakfast and was really disappointed when the breakfast arrived. If they had used smaller plates it wouldn’t have looked like a child’s meal. The only saving grace was the chipolata sausage tasted nice. The egg was overcooked and the half a mushroom was laughable. Not sure £9 is justifiable for this plus £2.30 for a small mug of tea. Sadly I won’t be returning

Fancied some breakfast and found this cafe in Hereford by the butter market . The entrance is strange as it’s a passage way off the street and you can walk through into the market or vice versa get to it from the market . We decided to order a small English breakfast and eggs royal washed down with a mug of tea and an orange juice. The drinks arrived first and then the chef got to work cooking the breakfast’s from fresh . The open kitchen allows you to see the food being cooked which is a positive in my view . The food ingredients looked local and the bacon and sausage had real flavour and enough to be full but not overfull . Plenty of people in on a Saturday morning so a favourite with the locals and the prices reasonable for freshly cooked food.

Located in the historic Victorian Butter Market, this cafe has something for everyone. From a full English to fish and chips, the most refreshing smoothies and incredible looking cakes. We went for the fish and chips and waddled out of there fully satisfied.Reasonably priced, decent portions, prepared and brought out by tremendously helpful and friendly staff. Well worth a visit!

Stopped at Tiffany’s cafe on the off chance looking for brunch. They seated us immediately and were fine that we had our little dog with us. We ordered 4 veggie breakfasts and 2 regulars. Everyone was really impressed/ very hot, lovely thick buttered toast and the hot chocolates were impressive/ the only thing I would say the flat whites were very weak and milky didn’t seem to have the extra shot. But the staff were very friendly the helpful and the menu has a nice choice

Organised chaos. Waited over an hour for tuna salad sandwich and peri peri chicken burger. Couldn’t wait any longer as parking ticket was up. Said we needed to get a refund. They said it was nearly ready so we waited another 5 minutes and had it as takeaway. They offered our money back too which I’m glad I accepted because once we’d rushed back to the car so we didn’t get a parking ticket we opened the containers and it was pathetic. Thick stale bread a scraping of tuna and no salad to be seen. Chicken burger was literally a sloppy mess with a two inch square of chicken on it. Don’t bother going basically because you will be disappointed!

Today - Without looking at menu ordered breakfast and coffee. Breakfast arrived same time as coffee - Approx 3 mins - Immediate caution as how can you cook fresh in such short time? Breakdown:Sausage x 1: Obviously supermarket medium range own brand, tasteless and overcooked (probably more than once)Bacon x 1: More own brand, fatty and tasteless (unsmoked)Egg x 1: OK (would be nice if option to have poached rather than fried)Mushrooms x 6/7 thin slices: ok, just very small portionBeans x small portion: More own brand, watery and blandToast x 1 piece: Butter already applied - why? I like to decide how much butter goes on my toast. Maybe control of portion size or use of cheap butterCoffee - Hard to get wrong as machine does all the workIn essence - Charged £9.25 for reheated poor quality ingredients.Lesson learnt - Go across the road to Cookies and have a good quality breakfast which you want to finish, not leave as I had tooPlease note this is the first time I have ever written a bad review

The cafe is part of the old Hereford Buttermarket in a small adjunct to the main building, with an exit from it to the Main Street. It does mean that you get general public walking through the cafe while you are waiting, eating or drinking, but there are tables a little way from the main path on a raised area.Alongside the general all day breakfast menu, there are a range of other meals as well as specials. Pricing for the specials is a bit more expensive than you would generally expect, but the size of the helpings looks good. You have to,order from the counter, which can mean that your table gets taken by someone else if you are on your own.Overall, a decent enough cafe with friendly staff.

We were in Hereford on a day trip from Leicestershire and came across this cafe whilst looking in the market. As it was lunchtime....probably 2 -2.30sh we decided we needed a sit down and some food. The cafe was nicely laid out and there was a varied choice as well as specials so we decided to stay and eat here.It wasn't overly busy, but we were quite late I suppose, the people there though seemed to be locals, which as my rule of thumb goes is a usually good sign.First impressions of the staff were it was hard work to communicate with them, not sure if it was due to my out of town accent or the fact that that English was not the guys first language. We ordered homemade lasagne with chips but wanted to swap the salad with peas and gammon with chips and egg rather than pineapple, he had to keep referring to the menu, so perhaps he was new....but frustrating none the less.Having not been there before and not knowing the rules so to speak I asked about cutlery...I mean some places they bring it to you...some places you have to help yourself...well this was met with blank looks and perplexed looks as if I was some kind of loon from the guy and the lady who I think was the cook, who incidentally English was not her first language either... eventually they twigged on and said they bring it to you. When I got back to my seat first thoughts were perhaps staying and eating here had been a mistake. The guy shouted across the room to us that they had gone to the butchers for the gammon so would be a bit of a wait, which I didn't have a problem with cos it's gonna be fresh right, but the communication was not very professional. The food and cutlery arrived and was as we ordered despite my doubts and it was absolutely delicious. The gammon was huge and nearly filled the plate, the fried egg was cooked properly with a white top and ample quantity of chips. The home-made lasagne was very tasty and again a good sized portion cut from a large one, not in a individual bowl that are usually as hot as lava that burn your mouth to the last mouthful and yes there were peas and not salad in case you were wondering.Shame the service is not as good as it gorgeous tasty home cooked food.....if you want fine dining then this is not for you, but if ever I come back to Hereford I wouldn't hesitate to go back and give them another chance.

England's Gate is a traditional British Pub and should be proud that it lives up such expectations. The food and the service was excellent. My wife had a steak which was very good. I had the steak and ale pie which was exceptional (especially for those who wish to have some comfort food occasionally . Pity more is not made of the 'pie of the day' as it was obviously hand crafted and had a very generous filling of tender and tasty steak. I was a little unsure of what I would get when ordering as the description and lead me to believe it might be 'brought in'. Top marks when it arrived and looked and tasted great. This (and perhaps other great items on the menu) should be heralded as a special dish (as it clearly was) . Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to go back and sample the food and atmosphere again. Super place, well above average food.
