Great place for a good and cheap breakfast which was really tasty, with a really good choice on the menu. Friendly service rounded off a good first vsit here.

Yet another culinary first from the kitchen of Tides Brixham - Cheesey Fried Bread. Such your eyes and you'll think you're in Heaven!

Been here before. A nice cafe used by locals and dog friendly. Breakfast was hot and very nice. Will go back agin.

Great service and great breakfasts, oh and burgers. We often have a breakfast at tides and can recommend it.

What more do you need? Great breakfast and friendly staff. This also has the added advantage of seating outside. Outside gives you a view that of the harbour and great for people watching. We eat here often and it’s never disappointing what appears on the plate. The breakfast comes with a high recommendation. Don’t let the negativity of some of the reviews about this place put you off going, some people are just born miserable and can’t find good in anything.

After a long walk around the lovely, picturesque Brixham, myself and my partner were quite peckish and visited Tides cafe. The location was lovely and we sat outside which overlooked the marina. My partner ordered the full English breakfast - was impressed with the taste and enjoyed it all. I ordered a cream tea which consisted of two scones, cream and jam and included a small bottle of Prosecco. Hands down the BEST scones I’ve ever had. They were warm, fluffy and tasted delicious! They were quite large but they tasted so good that I ate them both! Very reasonably priced. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Would definitely return (especially for the scones!!!)

Lovely small family run cafe - does get busy so expect a wait at busy times but well worth it. You are on holiday so sit and chill and look at the view of the harbour! Breakfast was good quantity and quality and staff were very friendly. Recommended.

Great breakfast, very popular, so be prepared to have to wait, but lovely staff and value for money. Will definitely be returning on our next visit to Brixham

What a shame ordered 4 coffees after 20 minutes got our order completely wrong when trying to sort out owner rolled her eyes at us we had payed £10 and had to leave 3 of the coffees not made. Won’t be going there again to support local shop.

Just wanted take away coffees it took 25 minutes and then the order was wrong. We were told we’d ordered wrong! We hadn’t! One lady even raised her eyebrows at us! We left without our coffees because the service was so slow

Stopped here for lunch before heading home , believe me i wish we hadn’t , the waitress made us feel so uncomfortable with a face like thunder , we had a couple of sandwiches nothing to difficult and nothing special either will definitely walk by next time we visit Brixham

This café is without doubt the definitive stop in Brixham for a Full English Breakfast - £9.00 for the Full Monty with coffee or tea or slightly less much for £8.00 see photo below - served until mid afternoon. Fresh coffee (all types) is first class too - I understand from a mate that knows his coffee that Tides uses the best beans available. Would be a worthy contender for the Best Breakfast in the West Country and beyond. On top of that one can sit outside with beautiful views of the harbour. Dog friendly. Infact people friendly too - lots of smiles and great service.

Warm and friendly cafe over-looking Brixham harbour. All day breakfasts and plenty of other choices. The haddock and poached eggs was fantastic! The mug of tea too. Thoroughly recommended.

The Full English (and at very reasonable price) doesn't get better than this. Opportunity to sit outside (covered if raining) and admire a great harbour view. Also, and surprisingly so the coffee - Rocca brand - is as good as it gets. Clean, tidy, friendly service and patronised by trawlermen(women!) who know where to get the best breakfast!

We stopped here for lunch today. Great location just across from the harbour, staff were pleasant and welcoming. We enjoyed our lunch a bacon baguette and smoked salmon sandwich. Delicious! Would recommend when visiting Brixham.

We visited Brixham for a weeks holiday and decided to go out for breakfast and after walking round Brixham came upon this cafe. Lovely friendly service, excellent breakfast, good value and popular with the locals . We will be back when we visit Brixham again...

Small portions of everything, only 1 hasbrown, overcooked sausages and blackpudding, extras £1.:50 2 small mushroom cut into tiny pieces, £1.50 black pudding 2 very thin slices. Very disappointed, wouldn't swap tea included in price for anything else... We will not be going there again.😬

Very bad meal - grey fish inedible and batter not cooked. On asking what fish it was, we were told ‘cod’ which it definitely was not - suspect it was coley. Would not recommend this establishment!

Nothing spectacular, sat outside on a glorious sunny afternoon. Had to ask for the table to be cleared for us. 2 cream teas for a tenner which were distinctly average! Rather small (supermarket sized) and plain scones was disappointing as usually larger are served in...

Had a breakfast here prior to going on a boat. Good sized portion. Lots of local fishermen in there eating breakfast so must be recommend by the locals as good value for money which is always a good sign. Coffee and tee included in the cost of the breakfast. Fast and efficient service.

We visited Tides a few times for breakfast. It is frequented by locals and tourists alike and it is not hard to see why. Full covid measures in place and adhered to. The breakfasts were of excellent quality (not greasy at all), priced reasonably and served quickly with friendly staff. Would not hesitate to return.

Two of my friends and I met for Sunday brunch at Tides, after a recommendation. We all had breakfast baguettes which were so good, and great value for money. The restaurant was spotlessly clean, and the staff were polite and friendly. I would definitely recommend Tides for either a light snack or a full meal. We will be back!

I have to say, that one member of staff, was the rudest person I have ever encountered in a food establishment. Every single one of us felt the rudeness of this individual, even the children said “how nasty the lady was” this person really spoilt our morning, and I would advice that no one put up with rudeness, from this establishment.

Today was the first time since March myself and my children planned to go into an indoor place (due to covid) . We wanted a nice breakfast with a view of the harbour, so for us it was supposed to be a kind of special morning as we planned . Unfortunately we chose this cafe. The cafe was empty ( obviously we should have known this was warning sign before entering, as others on the road were so busy!!) Upon entering the lady’s face said it all.! I thought we would settle down and order and when the lady come to take our order I was completely gobsmacked to how I was spoken to. I continued with our order speaking as always very politely , but as I continued I could see the look on my children’s face and it really upset me as we have waited a long time to go indoors to a cafe or shop etc. I politely asked the lady is there a reason she was speaking to me so rudely to which her response was even worse, and in-front of children was to me absolutely unbelievable. We got up from our table and left and I had to explain to my children not all people are kind and polite. If this lady isn’t spoken to by management of the cafe then unfortunately for this cafe they will continue to loose money during these difficult times and also if she is management I feel very sorry for her staff if she is setting an example. Such an absolute shame.

Great breakfast - Scallops and Bacon roll, absolutely delicious! Sat outside on a rainy day watching the fishing boats coming in with their catch. Great value too, much of tea £1, bacon and scallops roll £4.80.

Great to be able to sit outside on the quay people watching whilst having a freshly cooked full English. Also great coffee. Would recommend and I'd go there again. People serving very friendly. What more do you want????

Went in for a takeaway egg and bacon sandwich before work . I watched the lady behind the counter come round to say hello to a regular customer and then proceed to pat and stroke his dog nothing wrong with that but it would have been nice if she had washed her hands before handling my sandwich . I did not eat the food due to her dirty hands i just put it in the bin .

I visit Brixham every three months to stay with our son for a week. We three always pay a visit to Tides where we have always enjoyed a very good breakfast. It’s even better there now they have brand new windows.

First time in Tides but it wont be our last. Excellent value breakfast with real coffee. Tasty and well cooked. Sausage baps were tasty too. Nice atmosphere and staff.

Friendly place, we popped in for breakfast. Bacon and sausage bap was nice, the latte was lovely. Good service which wasn't rushed with a good variety on the menu.

Staying in Brixham and went to Tides for breakfast. I had the full meal and my wife had poached egg and cheese on toast and both were of the highest quality. In fact my wife has stated that she will be making the egg and cheese when we get home.Will definitely be back tomorrow morning.

Stayed in Brixham for 3 nights and eat an evening meal in the restaurant here on all 3 nights. A good choice of food, the Sunday roast was huge and very good quality. Good fish dishes, all food came the the table fresh and hot, no complaints, the waitress was very friendly and attentive.

We have had a really nice lunch here today. As always we enjoy Tides and will definitely we back again. They are all friendly and will make every effort to make sure we have a satisfactory experience.

Lovely little cafe , good value good service , just wanted to put the record straight if you had a recent bad review as when we were there , a very rude customer spoke to the waitress very rudely and even accused the waitress saying I'm not staying in this cafe to be spoken to like that , in fact it was the customer that was being very rude as everyone in cafe can vouch for , well out of order when the waitress had done nothing wrong , it's not always the customer is right

...and we were left to sit on a filthy table. Not a good indicator of the quality of food, so we didn't risk it and left.

Visted restaurant for fish and chips, nobody else in there? Now know why - fish was dry and chewy, chips about 10 on the plate and dry peas - very disappointed.

We stopped for a short while in Brixham and needed a fairly quick lunch so popped into Tides. Being a fan of spicy food I opted naturally for the chilli whilst my wife had a prawn sandwich. All quickly served and the chilli was just how I like it - tasty and just enough of a kick to know you’ve had one. Coffee was really nice too. Very good value and friendly service. All in all it did exactly what we wanted!

My friend and I enjoyed a reasonable and delicious fish and chips lunch while visiting Brixham. We had nice big cups of tea too.Service was efficient and friendly. There is a nice clean toilet upstairs. Would definitely recommend.

Me and my boyfriend visted this lovely little cafe while visiting Brixham during our time in Devon. I had a raspberry milkshake which tasted lovely like raspberry ripple ice cream, and cheese on toast which is nice and homely I said to my boyfriend there isn't many places that do cheese on toast and I think everywhere should and it's like the ultimate home food. And my boyfriend had a onion and sausage baguette and hot chocolate which was lovely again. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was lovely full of locals you can tell they go there regularly. Would highly recommend this place

Great value, nicely cooked breakfast. Not your swimming in fat type of full English like some in the area. Staff nice and friendly, looks like the place where local traders go so a bit of banter and atmosphere a plenty. Nice 10/10

Great breakfast that is freshly cooked which includes tea and toast for a decent price. We both went for the large breakfast and wiped our plates clean ! Will definitely return when back in brixham

We visited for lunch yesterday and were very happy with the service received, the food was excellent all freshly cooked and well presented and at a reasonable price, will definitely use again when we next visit Brixham.

We went in here for lunch one day. It’s a place where the locals go and you get to enjoy the atmosphere. Food was tasty and hot the only muddled up our drinks up but they fixed it promptly. you get a lovely view of the harbour from the cafe

We visited for an early lunch after a long 3 1/2 hour journey to the area with 3 very young children. The food was lovely as were the staff. Very friendly and accommodating. Quick service too which is always great when you have such young children in tow. Not great if the baby needs changing as the toilet was upstairs and i didn't notice anywhere to change babies, but we didn't need to anyway. Look forward to visiting again next year on our devon holiday

Very nice restaurant overlooking the harbour. The crab salad is very nice. The other meals look good too.

We've been into Tides several times and we've been satisfied with our meals. The service is okay and they are dog friendly too. But if you do visit stick with the breakfasts....they are usually really nice. Don't though chance the bagettes! I ordered one and it was in all honesty the worse I have ever had. Such a simple thing to get right you would think, but I was served one of those white part-cooked bagettes that need to be finished cooking in the oven, only they obviously forgot to do it! It was pastie white and you could taste the chewy and soggy bread dough, and was about a centimetre thick, including the filling when bitten! Shocking standard of food production!

Well-run restaurant which is open from 8 a.m. for breakfast. Always nicely cooked, always clean and tidy.

Tengo que admitir que estaba cerca el final del día, pero eso no es excusa para mala comida. Vivir en una ciudad costera toda mi vida l estoy más que familiarizado con lo pescado fresco debería saber y parece. Esta fue sin duda no las patatas fritas y seguramente salió de paquete. Estar fuera se podía ver incluso ver barcos de pesca! ! ! ! ! Así que no hay excusa. La única razón para no usar productos frescos en un pueblo de pescadores sólo puede ser. Ojalá hubiera ido a por el desayuno,

Went in for cream tea whilst visiting Brigham the other day. We sat outside and I asked if it was waitress service to which she replied yes, then as I walked to the door she shouted oh not if your outside you order here. (There's only 3 tables outside) ????? When our afternoon tea arrived it was 2 Tiny scones warmed in microwave which made them soft and greasy, and the smallest amount of jam and a pot of clotted cream, that came at a hefty £4.50 each. I don't begrudge the price but I do like to get a decent tea for that. We won't be back

The low light of our Devon sojourn was provided by this place as it served up the worst cream tea we have ever had anywhere. The scones were minuscule supermarket offerings re-heated in a microwave. Service was surly.

Called in for hot drinks after a ferry ride over from Torquay.Ordered coffee and hot chocolate, great just what we wanted to warm up after the trip. Service was quick and friendly and was very busy with locals and holiday makers, I always think if popular with locals that's a good recommendation.Saw some breakfasts on other tables and if we had not already eaten then this would have been a good choice.This is a good traditional cafe, located on the harbour front in Brixham and well worth a visit.

Visited Tides, late in the afternoon about 3pm. We noticed they did a crab salad.So we ordered 2 crab salads and 2 latte's. We had to wait about 10 minute. The salads were presented beautifully with ample crab. All tasted very nice as was the coffee.The service was very good and the staff very friendly.Probably not the smartest surroundings, but who care's, It's all about the food.well priced and tasty.

Nice clean and tidy place made my wife and I welcome and allowed me to take my scooter in, I did not need toilets so did not see them. I had a breakfast at 3pm all freshly cooked and my good lady had a Prawn salad well presented and served at the same time. Staff were polite and will go back.

Had breakfast here twice over a weekend away in Brixham, It was absolutely gorgeous on both days, service was fantastic as were the staff. If your planning a visit to Brixham or just passing through I recommend you visit this restaurant :-)

Went in here whilst on holiday. Had breakfast it was very nice. Also good to have a mug of tea. This is a no thrills cafe, home from home which was clean and food was cooked to order, friendly staff, and also dog friendly. Used by locals as well.

Visiting Brixham and found Tide's on the harbour side and feeling hungry decided on lunch there. Maybe not the smartest cafe in Devon but it served it's purpose.The view was first class, the service was polite and the food was served hot.I had haddock chips and peas which filled a hole and my wife had liver and onions which she thoroughly enjoyed.The toilet was upstairs so this cafe would probably not suit a wheelchair bound person but maybe they have alternative arrangements I'm not sure.

My second review for this establishment. I felt compelled to leave a short message once more, as this café/restaurant was a total saviour on afternoon of Sunday 8th January. Myself and my Partner walked the length and breadth of Brixham and, whatever you may be told by others in their advertising blurb, the entire town was closed for business - save for Tides. Excellent food and brilliant value, with great service, especially for returning customers. The perfect set-up before a coastal stroll to Paignton. Were it not for Tides, a Tesco Meal Deal would have been the order of the day.

Not sure where all the previous 5 star reviews have come from but I'm amazed, really amazedWe popped in for coffee today 2nd January most of the other coffee shops were shut so we thought we would venture in. After negotiating the ridiculous door system I sat down whilst my boyfriend went up to the counter to order two coffees. 'Yes' was his greeting obviously irritated he had interrupted her conversation with a chap she was talking two. Two coffees please, she said she would bring them over. No smile .... the table was sticky and we had to endure a young girl with her child telling the whole place the ins and outs of her diet in the loudest possible voice. We drank our mediocre coffee and let but not before assisting an elderly couple who could not get out of the doors - shocking

Good tasty food without the frills or hefty price tag of other establishments around the harbour. Lovely outlook and friendly staff.

Driven in by a heavy shower had a great mug of tea for only £1 - couldn't believe it! Staff were lovely and atmosphere lively.
