Nice atmosphere, good menu, cheerful service, good food, a thoroughly pleasant evening.

Having visited the Wighton many many times! I know my investment with food and drink is into the hundreds of £’s plus! Vast choice menu, great food, high quality and well presented at all times. Great bar with good choice beers and wines. The layout, the ambience and the fantastic staff at all levels with Agi and Steph at the helm and especially Gemma who if you are lucky to be served by her and she is on form you’re in for a great treat! Keep up the good work at the Wighton!

Had a really lovely anniversary meal here. The waitress was attentive and really knew what she was doing, drinks and food came out in just the right amount of time and everything was delicious. Piping hot and really fresh. We will definitely be coming back.

Had Sunday for four adults, Gemma looked after us really well. Overall the food was very good, but the veg on the roasts was a bit on the cold side. Bass and burger were amazing!!

It was a really good experience. The food was excellent and the service was 1st class. We did miss out on the roast, but this was due to its popularity on the day. I booked online. The booking system was really easy to use, and the text notification helped when I forgot the time I had booked for. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

I would not have even given a one star we went in today and the we waited a while for food to come out when it did it was cold no flavours in the mash or sausages green beans rock hard my partner had mixed grill if you call it that the meat was chewie and gristly the onion rings were cold and in all terrible we won't be going back there again especially as the food made me sick.

Myself and my family have been coming here for a while now because we are always greeted so warmly! All of the staff are so friendly especially Gemma and Megan who both always go the extra mile for my little boy Jacob.

Went for a family roast, waitress Gemma was brilliant with the kids and very polite and attentive. Food was alright, came out quickly and desserts were good.

First time back to The Wighton in a few years, and our party of three were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately it didn't live up to our previously excellent visits. My main course of 'roasted rump of lamb, recommended served pink, mini minted lamb pie, rosemary & garlic-roasted potatoes, honey-roasted carrots, kale, peas, green beans & mangetout, gravy' was sadly underwhelming. Three small slices of lamb, a lamb pie that I couldn't detect any mint in, limp veg and potatoes whereby again I couldn't detect the advertised flavours; all this served luke-warm. However, the dessert was in fairness, fantastic - apple and cherry crumble with hot vanilla custard. Thankfully this was served at the temperature it was supposed to be. The majority of the staff we interacted with were charming, however one young lady couldn't have been less enthusiastic if she tried. On the basis of this visit I can't say that I would recommend The Wighton, but it hasn't put me off returning again.

It was very easy to book - easy to park- clean including loos -they answered the phone (which in other establishments is a challenge to get an answer )on the day as I rang to advise we would be late as car broke down - Service was good -team attentive ,helpful ,friendly,-food was lovely and hot on arrival had lunch litebites menu -3 courses -

We have ate at the Wighton many times before and the food has been perfectly cooked for a reasonable price and excellent service. Whilst the service is still great, the food is not. A new menu has been launched with a couple of changes so we were intrigued to see what new was to offer since we liked to eat here as a treat. We were majorly disappointed when our food arrived. The main food was overcooked, including the Hunter's chicken schnitzel making it tasteless and unpleasant to eat. The chips tasted like they had been sat for a while under a heating lamp and tasted/looked like low quality and bruised potatoes had been used. We ordered some sides including the garlic focaccia bread for £3.29. We were disappointed when it arrived and ended up being just two thin overcooked slices from what looked like a big garlic focaccia bread. The menu should have stated slices so you don’t assume it would be a small focaccia bread. You used to get a whole tear and share mini square loaf for a similar price and better quality/taste. The food was absolutely not worth the money, I don’t think we will be in a hurry to return. This will no longer be one of our go to places for food.

Food was fab atmosphere good but it was the service that made it. Gemma was lovely . I could not fault the service she was attentive knew all about the menu and ale. Thank you Gemma!

Nice service, Megan was lovely. 3 people had the chicken burger which should have come with salad but nothing, just chips. It wasn’t until we got home and checked the menu. It shouldn’t have been missed. 2 had the crumble but it was so hot & took forever to be able to eat it.

Came out for a family meal and was served by Gemma. She was very attentive and kind. The food came out quickly and tasted delicious.

Been a few times now, each time there’s always been something missing off the menu & always had one problem with food being cooked wrong. But thought we would give it another chance. But tonight was an absolute disaster for the place, loads of items not available, food missing off our plate, food not cooked right, drinks tasted like chemicals Nowhere near enough staff for the amount of tables they had in. Unfortunately don’t think I’ll be returning.

I am very pleased with my experience at this restaurant. This is a nice place, excellent service, great food. Especially under Yuri's magnificent management. The staff is fully dedicated to their work, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.The food is very well prepared and delicious. The service is both professional and attentive. Met a few friends for a couple of pints the other day but could no believe the price of a pint in this nice (but nothing special pub). I went for a Carlsberg to find it was £4.90 a pint 😳 worse was I later found out this was the cheapest draft beer they did. This is not located in central London! To make it worse I went into town the next day for a drink and found 2 pubs by the harbour serving Carlsberg, one cost me £2.25 and the other was £2.77. I don’t mind a small mark up but these prices are a disgrace. How can other pubs sell it at half the price and still make a profit.. The Wighton sorry but it’s time to understand people are struggling and don’t need to be ripped-off. I notice I am not the only person on this platform to complain about these prices!!!

Last few times we went for dinner, the food has been quite poor.

Enjoyed it. Was a very good meal, in comfortable surroundings. The food was indeed very good. Pleasant enough staff, but now nudging into being expensive. Always happy to return, and in fact, often do.

Quick and pleasant servers on the bar. Food was very tasty and generous.

Had vegetarian roast, came out luke warm, potatoes were dry and not seasoned, had to have food microwaved , don't know how anyone can serve cold food and dry potatoes. As usual we were seated on the right with noisy families. There's a lovely place on the left which is never used. Maybe separate families with noisy kids running around and adults wanting a quiet meal. The walls we're covered with grease and stained and needs a repaint

Me and my missus booked here last Sunday. We booked at 11am for a 5pm roast. Upon arrival we were told they had run out of all the meats par turkey. Considering we had given them our number/email address I feel this is something we should have been made aware of. My girl had the sea bass which looked as if it was spawned about a week ago. Had seen more meat on a butchers apron. I had the chicken burger. I have never complained in a restaurant before but for very tempted to do so this time. It was only upon me researching that this marstons chain that stopped me doing so. Nowhere did I see it advertised that it was a marstons food chain. Over all -5/10 would never go again. And on top of that it cost us £80 for terrible food and two drinks each. Ripoff. P.S I’ve never written a review about a restaurant before this is how vexed it made me.

Been here twice now and both times the food has been excellent. Portion sizes are good and the staff are helpful and attentive. Will definitely come here again. Only downside is that they aren't able to split the bill if you use a voucher.

Pleasant place, fairly attentive service, friendly staff. Limited vegan choice but there is vegan food available. Reasonable value roast dinner on a Sunday, especially if there is an offer on - which there often is. Big car park, nice outside tables. Minor hiccough this time with being served a non-vegan roast that was ordered as vegan, and an undrinkable oat-milk coffee, but quickly rectified and otherwise good.

Walked in at 10.20 for a pint Friday night and we were told "sorry we have closed!"

Both times that we have visited, we have been greeted by friendly, cheerful staff and the service has been brilliant. The menu has plenty of choice and the desserts are delicious. Drinks orders taken and brought to our table within a few minutes of being seated. Food orders taken in good time and food brought out piping hot, beautifully served and delicious. The Wighton has a welcoming and relaxed feel about it, the decor is lovely and the seating comfortable. The staff are all smartly dressed, friendly, cheerful and attentive. The Wighton has become one of our favourite places to eat and we would highly recommend it.

Food was good quality ,we were a party of four,all enjoyed the food. Sadly no Guinness available, which is my go to drink and no tomato juice. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Parking was good ,decor nice ,seats comfortable. So only slight issue is the stocking of the bar, Prices were about 120 for four of us lunch and 2 drinks each

Absolutely lovely as always. Been coming to the Wighton regularly for a few years but in recent years have enjoyed Christmas Day and now New Year’s Eve. Lovely food, Uri and his team are wonderful, so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you for a fabulous evening

Came here for a New Years Day meal. Megan and Gemma really looked after us well - very polite, attentive and welcoming. The food was excellent and the decor and ambience is delightful. This was our first meal here, it will absolutely not be our last.

First time visiting today. Bar staff were great finding us a table with no notice and on such a busy evening. We felt that this was absolutely no trouble for them and they were happy to accommodate us. We did not have to wait long for our food at all either, even though it was busy. We didn't feel rushed at all either. The gammon I had, was the best gammon I've ever had to top it off! My partner had the mixed grill and demolished it also. Lovely waitress serving us as well. Thank you Megan and Happy New Year to you and your team ☺️ We will definitely be back!

We were warmly greeted at the door when we arrived and then shown to our table. The pub was nicely decorated for Christmas. Our table was well presented and a good size for our party. The food and drinks were all great and well priced. Really good, attentive service from all staff… especially Cerys who looked after us really well at our table. We had a lovely Sunday lunch.. thank you.

We came here with four friends to celebrate my 77th birthday. We chose here as we had been before, they had not. No complaints about either the food or service and will come again as we live locally.

Nice pub but it was completely dead on arrival. Your staff are nice. Food was not great, obviously re heated, yorkshires burnt and hard, roasters rock hard around the edges and tough. Good got dropped off and no check in, we would have asked for more gravy etc. No Christmas theatre or music, more like a ghost town. As finishing up meal told to get the last orders in well before 10pm. Wont return next year.

Great food - friendly, professional staff - reasonably priced

Had an impromptu lunch visit recently while my car was being serviced nearby. A week or so before Xmas so it was quite busy but I was offered a seat quickly and given menus. Liked the fact you can order from the menu using a QR code. Has the signature burger, fries, slaw and onion rings (extra charge for these). Overall the food was good. The burger was well cooked with a good amount of cheese etc. my main observation here is the fries. They use the Mcdonalds style thin fries. If these aren’t cooked perfectly they become hard and brittle which means you’ve got to chase them around the plate to get them on your fork whilst they shatter when prodded with a fork. Mine were slightly over so didn’t enjoy the game of chip chase around my plate. Get thicker chips guys please! Staff were friendly and attentive and I would definitely return but will avoid the fries next time.

We always bring family and friends to this place because the we enjoy the choice of meals service is good and the staff are very helpful and friendly. An all round pleasant experience thank you all once again
