The food was lovely when it arrived but our relatively simple tuna baguette and filled jacket potatoes took over 35 minutes to arrive after we ordered and there was no apology for our wait. At least two people who arrived after us got their meals before us.

We went to one of the painting events at Thyme Deli - it was my son's birthday, so we had food beforehand, sandwiches and a tasting platter, it was delicious and Janeve and Janice were so helpful and accommodating with our requests for food, they were really flexible with the choices and the food was fabulous, we had a really great time, the painting was such fun too - I'd definitely recommend for any occasion! 😄

Came to Thyme for my birthday lunch with my work colleagues, so there was 16 of us! We preordered our food and drinks (which they were very patient with as there were a few messages back and forth!) and when we arrived everything came out on time, and lovely and fresh. Everyone left very full and happy. The food was delicious, the service was flawless, and the staff were so polite and friendly. Nothing could be faulted. They also brought me a slice of cake as a birthday treat! Which was such a lovely gesture. I would highly recommend this cosy little place, 10/10!

This review is just about one hot chocolate drink. The drink was made with Asda Barista oat milk. B@lls you can’t call it milk. Anyways Tracey the Waitress made me this drink in a lovely BIG cup with oodles of fresh cream pouring out over the top like a wild white beard blowing in the Horwich wind. Tracey, kindly and needlessly as it happened worried about its presentation. For as soon as it arrived at the table the kids burst out in hilarity about how the cream was streaming to the table. Quick catch it! That one is almost at the bottom! This went on for a quite a while. Easily the best experience of having a hot chocolate before even drinking a drop :-) When I eventually drank it, it was goooood. Just what I needed on a cold day.

Ordered 2 hot sandwich and pot of tea for two Told it would be 15 minutes was that okay, we agreed. If they had been honest and said it was a 40 minute wait, we would not waited. We had somewhere to be in the late afternoon. Tea arrived after five minutes. Food 2 hot club sandwiches eventually arrived after we asked after 40 minutes. Sandwich was below average , turkey, sliced, ridiculously thin, bacon, very fatty, toast Warm bread, not toast. We asked for more tea as the original tea had gone cold. We came to pay not asked if the meal was good, and charged £30 We could have had a decent pub meal for £30. As a general courtesy, you should apologise for the weight and at least not the second part of tea off which we only ordered due to the lengthy delay

Unquestionably the best cafè in the area! The staff give you such a warm welcome as soon as you enter, and are unbelievably polite and helpful. The atmosphere is very relaxed and cosy. I love the quirkiness of Thyme with the different types of clocks displayed on the wall which you notice immediately when you walk in. The beautiful wooden flooring, mismatched chairs, comfy sofas, and at the moment has a lovely autumn feel with all the decorations and pumpkin spiced latte, it makes you feel right at home. The food is made fresh everyday, my favourite being the homemade quiches, the pastry is amazing. The GF brownies are outstanding, they are baked on site made with premium dark chocolate. Breakfasts are always spot on, with the sausage and bacon from the local butchers cooked up fresh every morning. They cater for every event you can think of! I cannot give Thyme deli enough praise!

Food hygiene could be better, teaspoon was dirty, chipped cups and teapot and when I asked for a second tea bag for my teapot (as only had one with loads of water so tea was very weak) they obliged but brought it to me in there hands not on a saucer, cup rims were handled by staff as the tea cups do not sit properly on the saucers. Table was sticky also, however, the soup my daughter had looked and smelled nice and she said it was delicious. A bit pricey if I'm honest for drinks. Could be loads better if they take hygiene up a notch.

We came to celebrate our boys exam results and it was a treat for them however not one staff member acknowledged this and given we kept talking about it and was straight from exam results given out I was slightly disappointed especially as it was 10.30am and very quiet in the restaurant. We ordered 2 x full English and two other dishes and all had drink each bill was about £48 which I thought was reasonable for this day and age. I ordered a pate on toast and the menu said it came with chutney and salad which I was looking forward to, when I politely asked why mine didn't have any the waitress asked the manageress who explained due to it being breakfast time it wouldn't come with it, really that should have been pointed out upon ordering. The waitress was lovely BTW and was only able to give us what management told her. My partner wanted to order a toastie off the special menu however he was told we couldn't due to it being breakfast time and only one person cooking in the kitchen, we found this odd as the dish was no more difficult to make than a full cooked breakfast. Another dish was salmon and scrambled eggs which my son said tasted average, the milkshake tasted more of milk than anything else. The table also felt sticky. All in all slightly disappointed as it always looks very appealing on Facebook posts and walking past but I didn't feel we received a product or service that would warrant more than 3 stars.

Wish I had had that I came today and the sandwich was awful 😢 the bread was dry and the salad garnish had no dressing. I asked if there was any salad dressing and was told “I don’t know let me ask 🤷♀️” wasn’t given a choice. Was brought a balsamic dressing which I didn’t really want ( would have been nice to be given a choice). My drink was cold before the sandwich arrived. The coleslaw looked like the scraps from the last of the bowl and was dry. It is about 18 months since I have been to Thyme and I won’t be in any rush to comeback. Would have told you if I could have found you… Wasn’t even that busy to be fair. Very disappointed that I parted with £9.50 for a stale sandwich and a cold coffee…. There was a horrible mouldy/toilet smell too. I used to come here regularly a couple of years ago but it has gone downhill considerably since my last visit 18 months ago.

We ordered a afternoon tea platter for a 60th birthday. The order was half an hour late when collected. The order was for 12 people but there were very few sandwiches for the price paid. There was not enough to go around. We also had to ask for cream on collection of the order. Once at home we realised they had supplied whipping cream not clotted cream. Also there was no jam supplied. This was not a cheap order so you would expect a certain level of service. Not very good value for money either.

My partner and I have visited the cafe a few times and always love the food and the service is always great. Because of this when we had our engagement party recently we asked if they could do the catering for us. Janeve was brilliant in sorting this out for us and the food was fantastic and presented really nicely on our table. We went for a half buffet and half grazing platter and everybody loved it, there was no wastage and we was so happy to see that everything went! We would definitely go to Thyme again for catering in the future and will continue going to the cafe. They are very accommodating for gluten free food too.

Slightly slow service but Lancashire cheese and chutney sandwich very nice. Had cup of soup with it which was pleasant, if bland. Friendly and accommodating - my mum didn't want tuna melt on a baguette and they happily did it as a toastie. Door left open at one point and had to shut it ourselves. Think they should update the menu style as on cheap, tatty looking laminate which I'd expect in a trucker's cafe! However, would recommend and will return.

The cafe seems tired and unloved. I went with a friend yesterday and it was busy. There were no tables free, some were being used by customers, others had pots on from past ones so we tried to go into another room and found it was closed. We made our way back to the main room and sat a a table with pots. One staff member came to remove them then came back without a cloth or antibacterial to wipe the table, we had to ask. Then when my friend went to pay she was told it was an extra 20p for each drink as we had asked for decaf! This was not mentioned upon ordering and wasn't noted on the menue. Needless to say, we won't be going back!

You are immediately greeted by the very attentive staff in a rustic colonial setting ( felt like I should have had my Panama hat on ) very relaxing atmosphere. An amazing interactive concept for the diner including picking your own wine in person rather than from a confusing menu that nobody reads. The food is extraordinary and I don’t say this lightly. For anyone who knows food and restaurants you need to take advantage of this hidden Gem before it’s six weeks to get a table ( that is coming ). I would like to thank all the staff for an unforgettable evening especially James and Matthew. Once you have been if you know then you know. A very special place.

I was shopping in Bolton and passed this place on the off chance and popped in for a breakfast. Firstly, the food wasn't great but the food is not really the issue here. The main issue was being made to feel like I was in the middle of some unhinged domestic argument. There was a woman, who i can only assume is the manager/owner, screaming at her staff in the kitchen. This screaming really put me off my visit, there was a terrible atmosphere and I was genuinely concerned about the situation and whichever poor staff member was getting screamed at. I've never encountered this in a place of business before and how anyone can justify speaking to their staff this way is beyond me. No one should be subjected to that kind of treatment. This is 21st century Britain. You can't treat people like that. Your staff are your life-blood, without happy staff your business productivity goes out the window. A positive culture, even in a small Cafe, is essential for success. After reading some reviews on here, it is clear I'm not the only person to have experienced this. It would seem there is an incredibly volatile and toxic culture in this Cafe and it seems to stem from an unhinged manager/owner who is rude not only to staff, but customers, too. Given the wait time for food, they're obviously short staffed and I can't say I'm surprised. Who would be willing to work under those conditions is questionable. Further to this, the reviews calling out this behaviour are replied by the business with attempts to discredit them. Well, I can assure you that I am not a former employee with a vendetta. This review is a genuine experience from a now "ex-customer". I genuinely hope the person who thinks it is acceptable to scream at their staff reads this and takes time to reflect on this feedback. It is not OK to do what you do. If you want to fail, carry on the path you are on. It will be a path you will walk alone. I wont be back and by the sound of it, neither will 99% of the staff after their first day.

The Park was once a lovely, traditional pub, but sadly, it is now derelict and up for sale.
