Went to an intimate wedding reception at Curleys with a buffet for a couple of regulars . Food was amazing, the fish was simply delicious. The atmosphere was great and the scenery was beautiful. Will definitely be going back now I've discovered it! What a lovely hidden little gem.

Can't fault the place, the staff and the food are first class. Everything and everywhere is spotlessly clean. Can get busy around dinner time, or lunchtime, depending on how posh you are. Not our first visit and hopefully not our last.

Excellent breakfast and service. Got a little pricy of late but we're hasn't.

Fisherman's breakfast 2 toast n t,very nice,£11,bargain. Coffee & a lovely fruit scone less than a fiver,bigger bargain.

Had meat and onion pie had been microwaved pastry was soggy ,chippy chips awfull,gravy made with granules ,very pricey will not go again

Had afternoon tea,everything was excellent. The staff are really lovely. Everyone in our party were very impressed

Fish batter very pallid not has crunchy. The sticky toffee pudding was great even though the icecream had virtually melted by the time it was delivered.

Our meal was cold, had obviously been sitting on the plate because of the dried up bit's around the edge. The chips were terrible, dried up ends of potato. How ever the waitress was lovely and apologised and gave us a free of charge scone with clotted and jam. I've never had a good meal here and won't be returning.

A truly great, good quality eatery & bar with lovely views of the adjacent fishery & with good rural walking trails nearby. Efficient & friendly staff serving great tasty food at sensible prices.

Very disappointed with some of the food The large cod was excellent cooked very well and piping hot. The chips on the other hand were only warm and looked and tasted like they had been cooked hours ago. The sandwiches were on white thin bread with a small amount of turkey ,which was very tasty, but not enough for the price of nearly £7. Sorry won't be coming back.

I recently visited this charming little spot and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and reasonable prices. I had a great experience and will definitely be returning in the future. Highly recommended!

Lovely staff, great food, really well priced too. Good sized mugs of tea, staff were very attentive as well. The cheese on toast was absolutely banging. Hidden gem, will definitely be back.

My 92 yr old Mam loves Curry's. The staff are very accommodating and give us a table near the door with space for her rollator. There is a disability toilet. The food is first class. A real treat.

The sun was shining on a Saturday morning and my partner and myself fancied a breakfast, there are quite a few places in the area but thought we would try Curlys, as I know they have an outside area too. Arrived not long after it opened, and it was already quite busy, but we managed to get a table outside, which was great, sun beeming down too on a glorious morning. Ordered two breakfasts, one small and one fisherman's, both of which include a tea or a coffee, which I thought was great as this is usually where the cost shoots up on drinks. Staff, very nice and helpful. Ambience, great, couldn't think of anywhere else that could match it in the area for a sun trap to eat our breakfast. Food, the breakfast was really nice, especially the sausage and bacon, butcher quality not cheap, I enjoyed everything else too, all fine apart from the beans, and the round of toast where on the cold side, but I wouldn't let this put me off visiting again. All in all, a 8/10.

Lovely cafe with amazing views of the fishing lake from the outdoor.seating area. We always choose a fisherman's breakfast which tastes great and is amazing value. Perfect spot to start a hike over the top too.

I took my grandson last week as he doesn't live in Bolton anymore, his 1st visit scored highly with him and I'm sure he'll be back

Had a late breakfast here, traveling from Florida, my friends took me here, excellent food and service beautiful views from outdoor seating, would definitely recommend.

Beautiful day for breakfast (11/5) out on the terrace. Small breakfast which was sufficient, toast could of have had more of a tan & butter bit spare. Good experience, will defo go again.

A great afternoon at colleagues joint Baby Shower! From making the booking staff were friendly and accommodated all menu requests ( vegetarian & gluten free ) Service was efficient and nothing was too much trouble! Thanks to everyone for an excellent afternoon.

Very rude waitress serving our food. Came out with an additional meal to which we said "not sure that's ours" and the response was "well whose is it then" in a rude way. Later she came back with more order and shouted "right ok so who is all those fo then" I wanted to complain there and then as I was disgusted by her attitude but isn't want to spoil the occasion as we were out with family. Once she left an adjacent table commented "wow what have you done to upset her?" This was our second and last visit. The first time the same lady wasn't the most friendliness of hosts but I will not be returning after our last experience. Great shame because its a lovely setting.

Thank you so much to Curleys team for helping to make our event so beautiful and memorable. Felicity you were incredible and we are so grateful to you for your time, care, understanding. From unscrewing a picture from the wall so we could put up a slideshow, to adapting so easily to a larger number of guests than planned for originally. You really made a very difficult day that much brighter and we are so grateful to you. Xx

Visited on 26th April for lunch with my parents was busy but had a table to accommodate us. I had the cheese and onion quiche and added chips it was lovely the chips were fresh and not frozen. My dad had the fisherman's breakfast and he really enjoyed it and my mum had the senior fish and chips and liked it. She also had apple pie and custard and got lots of custard not like in other places we have been too. The staff were friendly and the place was very clean will go back.

Very expensive (increased significantly in price) alongside reduced portion sizes. Chips and gravy is a half plate of chips and a small gravy boat of gravy. Dissapointed. Better off at the chippy! £19 for 2 chips and gravy, x4 slices of bread (70p each) and 2 cups of tea.

Lovely for breakfast and lunch. A beautiful cafe situated in pretty rural surroundings. Very clean and great food. It is very busy on Sunday mornings though so best to book if you can and the car park gets busy. Definitely worth a visit. Thanks for reading

Ordered the cheese and onion pie and a drink. Drink arrived promptly and didn’t wait much longer for my meal. However, it wasn’t like what I was expecting. The pie was tiny, didn’t have much filling, was mostly hard pastry and came with a small serving of chips. Definitely not worth paying £12.95 for. I asked for the meal to be replaced. Second time around I got a nicely cooked pie with much more filling and what I would call a standard portion of chips. The chips were nice, tasted homemade and not greasy. Gravy was good too. Just disappointed they thought it was okay to serve me what they did the first time and also that no one came to ask me if the replacement was okay for me.

Popped in for a small breakfast lunch with my elderly mum. As always great quality food, good value and friendly staff. We have been before for small family functions up stairs where there is a lift and the food and service has been excellent. Would definatley recommend.

I've been to and reviewed this place previously, but what I would say differently from my last review is that it does seem to depend on when you go and what you order. We decided to order Eggs Benedict (mine with salmon, mum's with avocado) and whilst I was utterly thrilled with mine, because I always am, we were disappointed with mum's avocado because there was a lot of black sections and I think she cut off more than she actually ate. I really enjoyed the cake and only regret not getting ice cream over it instead of cream, because I've heard only good things about the ice cream!

Passed this many a time and didn't give it a second glance. Went to a Christening here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location and food are top notch. Highly recommended

We were recommended to visit and eat here at Curleys and we were not disappointed. A relaxed and welcoming restaurant in a semi-rural setting overlooking a local reservoir, the warmth of the place was tangible from the greeting to the atmosphere. We arrived at a very busy time but it didnt stop the personal service or the speed with which our order was brought to the table. The menu is traditional good food and our table all ordered differently. All items were cooked well and served piping hot. In summary, whether it's a quick snack or a hearty meal, whether it's food with wine or a cuppa, Curleys will meet your needs. Thanks to everyone for a great 1st time experience 😊

Fabulous location, lovely atmosphere and staff. The food was disappointing for the cost. The cheese and onion pie although extremely tasty in parts it was not possible to cut through the pastry.

Had an afternoon tea there. It was amazing, probably the best afternoon tea I've had. Can't recommend it highly enough 😋

The place is very nice. It was my first visit. I did not rate the food as much as people I know who already used Curleys kept telling how good they are. Being honest I have had better fish and chips. Personally it would not be my first choice.

Best full english breakfast in Bolton / Horwich. Fish and chips recommended too. Lovely atmosphere. Open fire lit in the winter time and sometimes a pianist playing too. Lovely place.

Fish is amazing. I got the 8oz haddock. Couldn't manage a 12oz jumbo cod. It tasted very fresh and the batter was light. Chips and mushy peas on the other hand were quite bland. Staff are friendly.

Lovely place and good food and a lovely location

Visited the cafe for the first time for a baby shower and whilst the cafe seems very child friendly there are no baby changing facilities which which is why I am leaving a poor review. I think they certainly need to invest in changing facilities.

Visited curleys with my friends last weekend. What a lovely place this is. Id high recommend and will be returning soon with my family too. Staff very friendly especially Julie. Food amazing and a great choice with special board choices too. Lovely views over horwich too. Can’t wait to visit in the summer and sit outside.

What a lovely place. Easy to find, although hidden away. Food was fresh and very nice. Good value. It was very wet when we visited. Would be great to sit outside and enjoy the views over the lake. Fascinating story behind the African sculptures.

We ate here for the first time, as we were visiting friends and family in the area. The dining room is warm and cosy, which was really welcome on a winters day. My cheese pie was delicious, and the service by Julie was excellent. We will definitely visit again when we're in the area!

Love Curleys. Always a great standard of food. The team there are friendly and make the difference, nothing too much trouble. Great place to go, lovely walks around the area and drop into Curleys for food, rest your feet and your dogs!

Always on my list to visit after a good walk with the dogs. It’s always such good value, friendly and great food. I’m after Xmas healthy eating so lovely homemade soup, delicious.

Attended with family to celebrate my pa's birthday. Again no concerns about the service, staff friendly and nothing was too much trouble. No complaints about the food which was delicious as always. Definitely worth a visit.

What a wonderful find! Out walking Rivinton Pike and stumbled upon this, so glad we did. Soup and a brew, just the job, tasty and reasonably priced. Menu looked great, roll on summer for their cream tea. Staff friendly, warm welcome. Will go again.

For a first impression it clean and tidy very helpful staff, can be a bit load when all tables are full, sat by the fire lovely and warm very airy room high ceiling large window, good parking, can site outside, ice cream shop next door if you want a short stop for an afternoon walk. Had a toasted sandwich, not a long wait even though I was told there was a little wait. Will be back.

Just had a lovely afternoon here at curleys for our friends 70th birthday. I dropped so.e balloons off and a cake for her, all the staff were fantastic and the food was delicious, they had set the table for us and after we had eaten they brought the cake and sang happy birthday,thank you carole

Food used to be very good but not anymore it seems. Waitress brought our drinks, slopping one of them on the table. Thought she would come back with a cloth and clean it up but she didn't. Food arrived, mushy peas spilling over the edge...

Lots of food choice at an average price for a lunchtime pop in. We called on a wednesday lunch time and we where surprised at the amount of diners, both family parties and couples and singles. The venue has a lovely view over a fishing lake and during the warm weather lots of spaces to sit outside and enjoy the views. Curley's is very popular by dog walkers and those out for a stroll and an ice-cream shop is available. Public transport stops close by frequently and car parking is available. Pop in for instant coffee at £2 others available or perhaps something stronger at the bar.

Nice venue but the food is mediocre. Expensive for what it is.. Service isn't great.. The bloke is rude, don't know what he is tbh.. Like a manager of some sort but not a good one.
