Been here at lunchtime and evenings.Always great service and lovely food!

I recently visited The Railway Pub and loved it! The warm atmosphere and charming decor made it a perfect spot for a casual hangout. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the craft beer selection was impressive. I enjoyed the steak and ale pie, which was hearty and flavourful, while my friend raved about the selection of small plates. The live music added a vibrant energy to the evening. Overall, The Railway Pub is a gem! I can't wait to return for another great experience!

Amazing place for some dinner, excellent value for money on the 2 main dishes for £17.50! The beer garden is lovely. I’ve been here many times now, it’s a great pub.

What a lovely pub this is, we came as a family, food was amazing, the atmosphere was brilliant and best of all were the staff! They couldn’t do enough for you, made us feel welcome, like they’d known you forever. Honestly we can’t wait to come back and try more things on the menu, it’s definitely our new go too place.

Lovely clean pub. Usually some quality entertainment on every weekend with a nice & cheerful vibe. All the staff are super amazing & helpful. Can't fault the pub. Reasonably priced drinks & food.👍 well-done Railway pub.

I had one of the worst interactions with a young man behind the bar last night. I ordered a lager shandy (not difficult) what I received was a pint of lemonade with a splash of lager, totally flat, I figured that he was a young lad and had simply made a mistake so I pointed out that it was wrong and asked him to pour some more lager in, he then proceeded to put more lemonade in, again I repeated that it was wrong and needed more lager he then grabbed the Lime juice and I had to stop him , I asked him to try it to see what was wrong. At that point the lad told me that it was fine and he wasn't tasting it and that it was a measured pour ( total lie) I had to tell him to just give me a refund and I would go elsewhere. Just then a more mature member of staff said he would redo it which was great and how it should be. I have no problem with young people making mistakes and putting it right, but to be spoken to in such a disrespectful manner and lied to made me realise that I wouldn't return here until things drastically improved.

Been twice recently. Both times the ladies who served us were pleasant, polite and helpful. The pub was clean and tidy, but didn't use the toilets so can't comment on them. There is a large beer garden at the back with plenty of picnic benches, you can eat outside if you wish. There is also a small car park, with a couple of disabled spaces, which was full the first time we went. Food is very reasonably priced and is very good. Only slight criticism, on 1st visit, it wasn't very hot. Main reason for loss of stars, both times we went for food and both times more than 1 item we wanted to order wasn't available. The entrance is wheelchair friendly, but the beer garden is on loose stones, so you would probably struggle in there. Pub is dog friendly

Friday afternoon. Staff super friendly, attenative and great service. Very clean, nice mixture of rustic and modern-retro style. Food and drink was tasty and reasonably priced.

It was ok drinks were tasteless we got some cokes and it was just fizzy water took them back but we were given the same again with a tiny hint of flavour the syrup wasn't changed couldn't be bothered fussing so just drank them food was nice enough can't comment on the atmosphere as it was beginning of lunch and no one really there so no atmosphere to speak of I did like the decor and theme though and it was clean and tidy so not all bad

The food was good and priced fair but the place was obviously used by the ignorant youths of the area who all spoke on the top note and weren’t too particular about the language they were using so I will not be taking my wife there again

Really rude waiting staff. Was told “I don’t know why you’ve come in here” because it was 30 minutes before last orders. I am absolutely appalled at the attitude of the bar staff. Will not be returning. She was being really weird about it

Today was more first time here. Just passing and thought we would give it a shot. Thought the staff were a bit surly at first but i was definitely mistaken when she came to us with a big smile that lit up the room. Got the small plates as starters. Well WOW.. They were amazing.. onto the mains and ordered the noodles and the scampi.. All i can say is that this was the best pub food we've ever had! Hands down a winner. I'm a little worried that the bar has been set so high, however we will return soon and go for round 2😉. 1 extra bonus points for doing a take out for and an absent family member and another bonus point for having level 42 playing and excellent music during our visit. We left very. Very happy!! I have a real urge to leave 1 star to stop others from finding this gem and making it harder to get a table 😅. Our sincere thanks for money well spent!!!

The Railway Pub is a gem for football fans! Not only does it provide a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere to catch the game, but it also goes above and beyond with its hospitality. The highlight? Free sausage butties at half-time! It's a delightful treat that adds to the experience, making every match day even more enjoyable. And the generosity doesn't stop there—they even cater to our furry friends. My sausage dog was thrilled to receive her very own sausage, making it a memorable outing for both of us. The Railway truly knows how to create a fantastic and inclusive community experience. Highly recommended!

Do you know I was a little unfair with my review re the fact so many people were vaping inside. It is true this issue needs sorting and was clearly going on.There is no grey area it just not allowed. A proactive stance does need taking clear signage ( I didn’t see any - “First time you will be asked to stop, second time you will be asked to leave!”) BUT this venue is a good visit, they put free food on for the football, the staff were attentive and efficient and I would recommend. it is a shame people feel the need to impose their exhale on others ( knowing full well they are doing wrong) but I am afraid if not challenged or clear policy they will take advantage. Felt quite aggrieved by the issue but calmed down a bit now since last night and the polite response.

I want to compliment the Railway BX for the amazing job they did in hosting a recent family party for my daughters birthday. Great communication, great venue, great atmosphere, and the food was amazing. The 4 piece band were brilliant and got everybody going. Staff were friendly and attentive, including Head Chef Cardy, who was nothing but helpful on the night. A special shout out to Rachael, who was obsolutely brillant from start to finish and ensured the night was as successful as it was. A real credit to the Railway. 100% recommended to all.

Nice decor, good range of gins and beer including craft beers. Some good and some poor food ie. Excellent fish and chips but terrible vegan fish and chips 🤮 I don't recommend the vegan fish, tasteless and stringy with watery mushy peas. Pity as they've tried to introduce vegan and vegetarian options, but they need to re- assess and try some different options. We've just called again and I've downgraded it a star as thd fish and chips has gone downhill, the fish was chewy and far too much batter surrounding a small fish, chips were also chewy, definitely not crunchy, felt that they'd been sat too long after cooking. We won't be back in a hurry

Nice meal with friends and family today excellent service

Food was served quickly. As usual, one has to order food and drinks at the bar. The food I ordered was tasteless, and expensive, apart from the starter, Duck Spring Rolls. On ordering my drink, I said I wanted a non-alcoholic drink, but by mistake got served the 4% alcohol version! By chance, I noticed it was 4%, told the lady at the bar, and she told me she got the wrong one out! Not impressed.

We've only been for drinks, but it was popular and busy. A special mention that the waiting staff are fabulous and hardworking.

We decided to go somewhere for a steak today.... We picked the Railway as the reviews were pretty good. Our food took around 40 minutes to arrive at the table. As soon as I tasted my 1st onion ring, I knew we'd made a mistake!! Cold and dry. I cut into my medium steak and realised why the food took so long.... They'd been cooking my steak for the whole duration. Dark brown inside and tasteless. Nobody came to the table to see if we were happy with our food and I couldn't be bothered calling someone over to let them know as I'd waited long enough for my food. I will not be coming here to eat again, which is a shame because it looks like a great place for a drink and a snack in the sun. Please show your staff how to cook meat and up your portion sizes as the plate looked too big for the amount of food. Bigger onion rings and a few more chips would have got you another star!!!

We had a booking for a birthday so reserved tables in advance. It was a very busy Sunday afternoon and not a spare single table available and they were solid with bookings. Although we were a large group the staff were very able to look after us. Food was good although and little slow for some of our party who had quite a wait for their servings. Lots of large tv screens watching the football games. Food and beer are reasonably priced, and they have a good selection of Beer's Wine and Spirits.

Lovely pub with great food and good wine! The only downside to this visit was I went in unplanned, and my mobile phone battery ran out. The staff would not allow me to plug in my phone for a few minutes to call my husband who was picking me up (when I rang to let him know I was ready). I didn't know his number. This caused an issue as I ended up having to charge my phone in my car... Awkward, but at least I had that option available to me. It would have been horrendous if I'd had to walk home on my own with no phone. I get it was my own irresponsible fault for having a low battery which then ran out, however, I don't think charging it for 5 minutes just to get it on would be very cost intensive to the pub (and I did ask rather than just plug it in).

We all Really enjoyed the food, service was excellent, very pleasant and helpful. Atmosphere was great. Only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is they need to put ice cream with the desserts. Will definitely be returning.

Went in with a few friends for dinner the staff were lovely and very polite the service we received was to a good standard I ordered a mega mixed grill and I definitely got my moneys worth would recommend to anyone and I expect to be back there again in the future

What a lovely pub this is! Beautiful inside and out. Great atmosphere, lovely staff and lovely owners. We have been here in the afternoon for coffee and we have been here at night when a band was playing, they were brilliant. We will be making it a regular of ours 😀

Came here with the kids, so much to chose on the main menu and also lots to chose from on the kids menu. The food was excellent and the deserts were gorgeous. The staff were so friendly and accommodating for my son who was in his wheelchair. We will defo be returning to try the grill menu and the sunday dinner

Called in for Sunday Lunch food and service was excellent sticky toffee pudding was amazing highly recommended will definitely be back.

Nothing seems to have changed except the service at the bar is shockingly slow now , don’t understand way these bars hiring staff that are clueless to service?

We called in The Railway on Boxing Day after a local walk. We only had drinks but having seen the menu we will be back for a meal. We also witnessed a very loud yappy dog ( see previous review). We welcome the reopening of The Railway and will be supporting it but the owners of this dog are doing the new owners no favour at all , by their dog annoying other customers and probably staff as well. If they can't train it to be well behaved they should leave it at home as they are putting the management in the difficult position of either telling the dog owners to leave or losing other customers. We will be back for a meal but I am afraid if that dog or another like it is there we may be forced to go elsewhere in future.

Unfortunately we decided not to have lunch due to the selfish people sat. Rhind us with their yapping dog! It did not shut up, nor did they shut it up! We left after 30 mins with a headache! All for having well behaved dogs but...

Pub is the same as before, just they have football on now so it has gone chavvy, food was shocking which is a shame as it was lovely before it closed. Standard microwave food now

Went Monday night. Food was delicious. The mash was so tasty. Mon - Thur 2 for £16 on certain dishes. Great value. Decent potions as well. Great atmosphere. Was busy for a Monday night. Good to see

Went to the Railway for the first time since it opened. As I entered there was no where to "check in" for my booking. I was greeted by a man at the bar asking "if i was ok". I was pointed in the direction of my booked table. No one advised that ordering was now at the bar. My partner went to the bar to order drinks and waited a while whilst staff talked behind the bar. I asked to move tables as we had a baby in the pram and was blocking the walk way. I had to ask servers to clean the table from the previous customers. Again when we ordered at the bar staff were talking amongst themselves and ordering took a while. Mine and my partners food came very quickly however, our friends then waited another 15 minutes without explanation or apology. The food itself was very poor. Chips were soggy and meat dry. None of us could finish our meals. When the server then came to take our plates she asked if everything was okay with our meals. We advised not she replied "fair enough". On the whole i was very disappointed. I was excited to return to the Railway after many months of being closed but i would not recommend.

Lovely friendly pub, popped in to get out of the rain. Very welcoming, lovely friendly staff and the owner wes friendly and chatty. Dogs welcome too.

Terrible service, average food and the place is freezing...

Firstly the place was freezing despite the heating apparently being on full... The young lad serving us was lovely and trying his best but we waited 20 minutes for our drinks and had to ask for menus to be brought. The lady who appeared to...

Still a fabulous venue, really wish that they hadn't had to reduce midweek hours, really needs to be supported. A fabulous asset to our community.

Came in for lunch whilst on a walk. It was quiet when we arrived but got steadily busier, yet the young lady called Ruby who was on food service was brilliant. She was very attentive to everyone she served, even with those she couldnt offer...

Awful food each time I’ve eaten there. Shame because it’s a lovely venue but the menu is lacking in quality. Consists of food that can be thrown in a fryer quickly by anyone. Hopefully one day they will get a chef who can come up with a menu of quality cooked dishes.

This was a really nice pub, quirky deco and great staff. The food was really yummy! We had the 'porky pit' burger and fried chicken dishes. Nice to see a variety of Gluten free options too on the menu. Definitely recommend 👌

Busy and popular railway themed pub. Open plan feel with restaurant and bar areas. The latter is dog friendly and serves food. Bar tables are on a 1st come 1st served basis and cannot be reserved. Order at the bar and food/drinks are delivered to your table. Excellent and friendly service. Easy to set up a tab at the bar. We visited on a Saturday night and it was very popular and busy. Great food and great guest beers (changed regularly). V.small car park. Highly recommended.

Great find gave it a try from our usual place and so glad we went, the food was fantastic the staff so lovely and friendly. Disappointed we didnt have room for a pudding in the end too stuffed. Maybe next time and loved the fact my pooch was able to join us. Thanks we will be back 😊
