The tastiest Chinese I have had in a very very long time

I’ve ordered special chow mein - delicious!!!

We bought food from this place a few months ago and we were all impressed so decided to go again. We were not disappointed!!! I had the King Prawn curry and I was one of the best I've tasted tbh. The food was hot and the portion side was just right. The owner was very friendly and one could see they took pride in making the best food they could. Will defo be using again next time we visit mum that's for sure. It's also open on a Sunday so that's an added bonus!!!

Good take away, ordered two mains and two sides came with prawn crackers too. Not been for nearly two years as it had changed, but decided to try again. It was back to its former glory days. Really nice and hot, all packaged well. Will use again

Thurmaston House used to be great. We even stuck by them as prices increased dramatically due to cost of living, the food was always good and worth the increase as a treat. But all of a sudden they have dramatically reduced the size of the portions. We could always order a main for £6 - £7 and easily split between 2 so could order a couple of meals. But they have literally halved the portions and stuffed it into a single portion foil tray for the same price. Disgusting. After 10 years of loyal custom, won’t be ordering again.

Had nr 6, Satey and nr 92 the deep fried King prawns in salt & pepper. Everything came in decent plastic containers. Delivery was fast, and the lady was friendly. The satey, mwah. It's breaded satay. Spicy, yes, but breaded should be crispy. Which it isn't. There's pineapple in it. Not much and canned sweet pineapple. Some small slices of cucumber. Would not order this item again. The prawns were okay. It's not really crispy, but that could be due to the transportation in the container. Definitely salt and pepper. The spicy flavour is good but a bit too much salt. This dish comes with some vegetables. If ever, I would choose the prawns again. Just an honest opinion of a non local.

Friendly staff, fantastic food!!

Been going to this Chinese for years when I lived in thurmaston, when in Leicester I still go to this Chinese, staff are friendly and always had a good meal from here. Fully recommend it.

I have nothing but the best review for this place, based on my experience. I've ordered a few times, staff are really patient and help recommend dishes on what your taste it, regarding spices etc, that helps a lot. The prawn crackers are by far the best I've ever had from any other Chinese place. Super friendly delivery service. Highly recommend. Super hot 9n delivery, very very tasty food.

Been coming here since early eighties. Never any problems. Tasty generous portions. My fave crispy shredded chilli beef. Staff always friendly and kind.

Fist few time was okay but last night it was awful never thrown so much food out wont be ordering again!!!!!

That's my local Chinese, I eat their food quite often. Can't complaint at all, always hot, always tasty, better than many others I have tried so far. I'd recommend it to all the neighbours.

Worst Chinese I’ve had . Smelt and tasted like dog food but worse. And it costed more than our usual Chinese.

Unfortunately, I can't rate this place less than 1 star. An absolute abomination. I wouldn't feed this tragic mess to a dog. The service was disgusting too, avoid at all costs. Complete fail on all accounts.

Nice little oldschool Chinese takeaway, food is not overly amazing have to say but the chap working there is awesome so gains a star for this!

First time ordering and never again £26 for luke warm food, dry chips.. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

I ordered from there once, will never do it again. Luke warm food with child size portions of soggy chips and banana fritters.

Since this take away was sold, it has gone down from a 5 star, to absolute rubbish. The food has changed beyond recognition, and I know a lot of people who have stopped using it, as it is now so poor.
