This has got to be the worst room I have ever stayed in. Dirty floors, dead spider behind bathroom door, wallpaper peeling off, cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, mould in the shower. This place is not just basic it's filthy. Don't waste your money.

Booked a Family room for 4 nights which upon arrival was told that we need to use a share bathroom. I booked a family room because I had kids, when we book the room we said 2 adults and 2 kids, no way we would want our kids going out of the bedroom to share a bathroom with strangers... We told them we wouldn't stay and asked for a refund was given a alternative of having two other bedrooms with suites without no extra cost, so we acept as we were trying to enjoy our short break. Once we brought all our luggage upstairs paid the car park that cost £10 for 24h, booked and paid the breakfast for the following morning the reception/ bar lady knocked at our bedroom door to let us know that we would need to pay another £340 pounds for the extra room... it felt like they orchestrated with the intention of charging us extra. We told them that we wouldn't be staying and we would like a refund, they told us that the refund would only be in our account after a couple of days. We chose to stay there because was a good price in a nice location but If anyone else had stayed there before they would agree that the place is not clean at all, I have seen reviews complaining that the place is outdated, but this is not a big problem. Mould all over the shower cubicle, spider webs going down the ceilings, furniture, wardrobes, floors not hoovered in ages, dirty , dirty dirty! Would not recommend, the cheap becomes expensive! It's a shame as the place location has everything to be a successful hotel/b&b but it needs a totally change of management and house cleaning as for now is disgusting. If you insist in staying there take your antibacterial and mould spray !

It pains me to leave a terrible review, but in all honesty I cannot recommend this place. The bedroom was shocking, cobwebs, peeling paint, damp, peeling wallpaper in fact, the list is endless. If you book an en suite, these are up two flights of narrow stairs so be aware. It needs a few grand spending on it before it's even close to 3 stars. The good bits: very capable siblings, Jamie and Carla are the jewels in this broken crown. Friendly, helpful, polite and hard working. I feel a bit sorry for them as they've been lumped with a very poor hotel to run. Breakfast good, position Brill. As for the rest, look at the photos and make your own mind up.

Firstly £9.70 for a pint of beer and a pint of shandy! You’re in Filey, not Central London. Foodwise, we had fish & chips, it looked quite nice but had absolutely no flavour at all, it was a waste of calories They were very accommodating with a specific sandwich request which was appreciated. The staff we met were also friendly. We sat outside (husband went in to order drinks first), however if I’d have gone inside first we wouldn’t have stopped.

Avoid this place at all costs!!! Had the misfortune of ordering food here. Steak pie was dry. Reheated so the crust was like a brick. Rock hard. The chips were frozen fries, hard in the middle and tasteless. A cheap frozen variety. I left the meal as it was inedible. The pub needs a good clean. It had more than its fair share of flies buzzing about and was quite smelly. Complained to the staff who were disinterested, saying that he (whoever he is!) had left. We will never return here, and would advise against anyone else from visiting this pub. As I say, avoid, it’s awful.

Definately the worst pub food we have ever eaten, I wouldn't even call it a Sunday lunch. 2 frozen roast potatoes, 2 new potatoes and soggy brocoli and carrots, microwaved to within an inch of its life , and cost £11 for the privilege. My partner had fish and chips, the chips were a few frozen fries and the batter wasn't even batter , greasy and straight out of the freezer. Needless to say we left it, what a waste of money. The pub also needed a good clean, avoid at all costs

We had to book somewhere for a couple of nights as we were affected by rail strikes following a stay at Primrose Valley. I have to say, the Three Tuns Hotel did the job! We had an en-suite room which was clean, had everything you need, and I quite liked the faux-antique, semi-gothic décor. My partner prefers showers and I prefer baths, so we were so pleased that our room had both. Yes, the bathroom needed some attention- the wallpaper was coming away from the walls in places, as was the sticky back vinyl covering the floor; but it's nothing a good ventilation system and an all over plastering wouldn't cure. The staff were friendly, the cost what you would expect, the breakfasts (an additional fiver) big and good value for money and the shots (I especially loved the black sambuca!) were reasonably priced. Plus where else would you find a hotel with the added bonus of a Batmobile and a budgie housed in the corridor? ;)

We called in for Sunday lunch. We had wanted to go to the Buccaneer but dogs weren’t allowed. We ended up here at The Three Tuns. We ordered two roast beef and two roast pork dinners. I think the meat had been bought from a deli counter and warmed up - definitely not a fresh roast. The veg was all frozen apart from the boiled potatoes. There was one frozen Yorkshire pudding on each plate, if you were blindfolded, you would never have been able to identify what you were eating. Everything was absolutely tasteless (apart from the boiled potatoes). It’s a good job we took the dog as she was was able to clear the plates for us. This was really overpriced at £8:95 per meal and not one thing on the plate was appetising. There was zero atmosphere in the place either. I did complain on the way out (no one came to ask if everything was ok during the meal). The two young bar staff listened to my complaint and apologised. Lesson learned - read reviews before spending your money. Avoid at all costs!!!

We were late arriving in Filey past 3pm and looking for somewhere to have Sunday lunch with our dog and came across the car park entrance to the Three Tuns the entrance to the pub is via a concrete corridor with toilets and storage to one side and Formica tables and plastic seating on the other side and a kiddies play area. This leads into a carpeted corridor with tables the kitchen to one side and the entrance to the bar area on the other side. To be honest it gives the impression of a poor quality seaside boozer which it what it is. I wanted roast pork but that was off the menu so we settled for one beef and one chicken but when it arrived we were very disappointed the portions were small chopped chicken and two very small slices of beef two potatoes over cooked cabbage and carrots and under cooked peas topped with a cold stodgy Yorkshire pud and gravy granules gravy hardly warm and insipid. To be honest I should have just asked for my money back but we were hungry and not too many places would let the dog in so we ate what we could and gave the rest to the dog and left. To be honest the Black Sheep I had was an excellent pint but as for the rest not the be recommended.

Whilst Filey might have some appeal to a not very bright five year old with a bucket and spade on a sunny day (does the sun actually shine on this place?) it's got nothing going for it as far as I am concerned. An all pervading stench of greasy spoon cafés, fish and chip shops and one hour parking slots, which are little use to anyone who might actually want to linger there. Although the greasy spoon brigade seem to welcome dogs with open arms none of the more decent looking tea shops want to know, Well an hotel. The Three Tuns. Thought our luck had changed, but no. Miserable staff, overpriced soft drinks (half a pint of diet coke and a small bottle of ginger ale at £3.50), undercooked baguettes and filthy toilets. Yes and to end it all, I got a £100 parking ticket for overstaying my overall poor experience by 17 minutes in the Three Tuns car park behind the hotel! What's to like? Absolutely nothing.

Good steak pie meal on special board, two meals for £10 nice meal and friendly staff. Drinks reasonable and had a well behaved two year old who cleared their plate. Would return when in the area.

Popped in because it claimed to be 'dog friendly' although we asked for a bowl of water for the dog they were not able to locate a bowl to put water into. Bought 4 meals- 2 mains for £10. I really wish we handn't bothered. My partners burger had clearly just been taken from the freezer and deep fried- no flavour or juice in the burger at all. How hard is it to cook a burger decently?? Other meals were average and pretty bad. Chips served with pretty much everything- again they were pretty awful. I would avoid this place- we wont be returning.

We stopped for a drink, but the wine was terrible. It tasted as though it had been watered down. Rather a grim atmosphere and the table we sat at hadn't been wiped down. Definitely wouldn't go there again.

Just been in for our lunch. Been before when in Filey over the years. Lovely smiley friendly bar lady served us (Sam I think) from Bristol. Can't fault the food , service or food but can fault the temperature. Had to keep my coat on while we were there as did other people. They have wifi. Got it to work in my sons Samsung tablet but not my I phone. Children welcome.

We were a party of 2 adults ,2 teenagers and 3 kids. We decided to eat here as there was free wifi for the teenagers :-) All food was nice although we had a kids pie and an adults one and they were both the same size ( not good when one cost a lot more in £ ) Fast speedy service Friendly staff Only down fall I can think of is inside is dark and dull and needs a luck of paint , but def would go back

This pub/restaurant looks reasonably attractive from the outside and we decided to visit for lunch. It was not very busy when we arrived, but further customers came in whilst we were there. The menu offers a reasonable choice and includes some very competitively priced meal options e.g. 2 for £10. Requirements are ordered at the bar and we also found the drinks to be reasonably priced. However, although we did not see any prior indication, payment is required in cash. When the food arrived, it represented good value, quality and portion size, although hot chips were served on very cold plates. Although the meal included some salad, I am always surprised that some restaurants continue to serve hot food straight onto cold plates. The glasses for the drinks also contained highly visible marks (hopefully) from a dishwasher. These are basic and easily resolved issues. The internal decoration definitely requires a good "makeover" and clean. The carpet is extensively worn. Overall, the stage has been reached where the necessary attention and refurbishment is required.

Visited with friends for lunch and drinks. The 3 Tuns is a good traditional pub with exceptionally friendly, humourous staff and good pub grub. The menu was as you would expect and we enjoyed Gammon, Steak Pie and BBQ Melts of which there were no complaints, The Black Sheep bitter was excellent so we had several! Disappointments were the lack of coffee and toilets that need a make over!

I'd recommend this place as its the kind of pub we seem to be losing all over the country. Warm, dog friendly and clean, this pub deserved its mention in my book "Filey - The Town In A Day". Graced by a friendly landlord, this pub is an ideal place to eat and sink a few pints.

Terrible experience. Horrible atmosphere as soon as we walked in. The guy working there had an attitude problem, shouting at the young female waitress and telling the whole cafe that it was her second day. Had an argument with two other customers as they'd been waiting a while for two cups of tea. Even the customer said that he is stressed and he didn't like that and began arguing. Getting all the orders wrong and blaming the young waitress. Stated he is not taking anymore orders even though I'd been sat on the table and my mum ordered just before me. I had to tell him we were together. Such an uncomfortable atmosphere. How he works in hospitality/customer service is beyond me. Clearly the wrong industry. The poor staff, clearly not a very good trainer, but not his fault. AVOID as you'll only be left disappointed and leaving with a headache.

We called and booked afternoon tea for 4 people last night to have today at 2pm. I asked for a quiet area to sit as my mother is part way through chemo. We also asked for no fishy sandwiches. We arrived slightly early but I advised reception that we were here for afternoon tea, they didn’t seem to know anything about it but we were told to wait in the lounge which was no problem, we could not buy a drink as the bar wasn’t open, so we sat and waited, the manager came and said they were just preparing it and would come and fetch us when it was ready. We waited and waited and at 2.20 my father chased it up it was then brought to us in the lounge area around 2.30 and served on a coffee table with no room for it and with salmon sandwiches. I then advised that we didn’t like the salmon sandwiches so the waiter took away the whole afternoon tea and we had to wait another 15 or so minutes to come back. It’s was absolutely disgusting, apparently the scones were freshly baked and warm when in actual fact they were rock hard and stone cold and stale and looked straight out of a packet, there was barely enough cream to spread a very thin layer on some was that hard they were inedible. The white sandwiches were stale, they egg mayonnaise sandwiches were slimy and the small cakes were still frozen. I’m quite sure they forgot we were coming and threw whatever they could together. I don’t mean to be rude or nasty but the gentleman that served us was very unkept and had an awful odour. I informed reception when I paid the bill and can 100% confirm I will not be recommending or returning. This was a very disappointing as this was the first break and outing since my mother’s diagnosis, and was definitely the worse experience of afternoon tea I’ve ever encountered.

Really disappointed with our meal, I ordered a soup and was shocked, to say the least, about the portion size , literally half a bowl and when I asked the waiter if it was a mistake he replied that it was head office that control the portion size!!!! Shocking , considering I was charged £6.50 for literally 5 spoonfuls. Prices have risen so much in the last year, ridiculous! Unfortunately the pub lacks atmosphere and we won’t be back! Such a shame as we The Bay but there is a need for a decent pub whose sole purpose is not to rip you off!

Had a 5 day stay in one of their rooms. What a great place to stay, friendly staff and a great welcome. We were in room 2 which had the harbour view through a bay window and side window. Room was a great size with daily refreshed coffee tea and biscuits. The breakfast was freshly cooked and to a good standard. Location for the entire town was superb.
