A little disappointed with this visit. Told to sit at our table from the bar and not given any menus to review. After about 30 minutes of sitting at the table a young lad came from behind the bar to take our order, still no menus provided. However we did review the menu on the website prior arrival so had a good idea what we was going to eat but as it turns out the menu had recently changed so despite me ordering plaice I ended up with Belly Pork as the plaice is no longer available. During the stay we was very close to the bar area and could for the whole stay we had a bunch of men swearing which didn’t personally upset myself but my partner wasn’t impressed. When we ordered our food it came very quickly and it was beautiful I must say. The limited staff was checking people in taking drink requests at the bar and also running the restaurant which was the problem for certain. Service charge automatically taken off your bill but on this occasion I requested this to be removed as the service was actually shocking. Tables next to us were not cleared for over an hour which highlighted the shortage of staff.

Visited for lunch and sat outside as the sun was out. Had heard that the food was good so ordered two sandwiches which were £12 each. Expected great things for that price! The chicken and bacon (sandwich filler) was so full of mayo I had to scrape half of it away. More like a mayo sandwich. The sandwich only came with a small bit of salad. For £12 - Just bread, cubes of chicken and bacon and some lettuce. The Cajun chicken roll had 1 piece of lettuce and no sauce. Just two chicken pieces in a roll. It was so dry. No coleslaw, no crisps. Just some leaves and onion. Felt I should have said something and when I got home I was cross for not complaining but for £24 I expected so much more. Definitely won’t be returning and left feeling ripped off sadly. Expected a lot more.

A shame as we come here and sit out for a drink most summers but now a big screen in the garden blaring out football and even when match not on its left on. A bit of a shame for the regulars who want a quiet drink.

Very disappointed with afternoon tea here today. I do feel for for the price the quality of food was quite poor and we would have been better going to the local supermarket for a sandwich, cake and coffee at a third of the price. I had 3 very small sandwiches, two quite stodgy scones and a minuscule piece of Battenberg. Don’t think I will be returning.

A most pleasurable and interesting stay at a little piece of historic comfort. ! The slogan was “your comfort is our passion” A little dubious at first I quickly realised this is indeed the managements quest. Beautifully clean and well appointed rooms. Spaciously laid out well with all comforts. Only regret was I didn’t make it a two night stay! Just one small thing to note: The town church bells ring every quarter through the night! A big thank you to all.

Awful! Arrived … had to clean our own table ! The lager was flat and £6 a pint ! Unfriendly bar staff … verging upon rude . Ordered burgers - was charged £2 service without knowing !!! A service charge to clean our own table and go to the bar to order food ! What am I paying for.? The staff huff and puff throughout and have a very brusque manner. The burger was horrendous.- McDonalds serves better ! The burger was burned and shrivelled - there was no salad garish. Very basic. A very disappointing experience… won’t be going again and would definitely not recommend.

We hadn't been here for almost 5 years but as we were visiting the town we popped in for lunch with our dog on a busy Saturday. The tables were all busy and the staff were rushed off their feet but coped well and quickly took our order at the bar. We were told that all food is cooked to order so we expected it to take some time. Thankfully this wasn't the case and it arrived well presented within 15 minutes. The Prawns in Marie- rose sandwich I had and the tuna my partner had were both lovely, served in fresh bread and accompanied with some French fries and salad. Our friends dine here regularly and recommended it to us so our experience would seem to be the norm and an improvement on our visit in 2018.

Every Thursday my wife and I, during our weekly shopping trip into Harborough, go for a coffee and cake. This Thursday we decided to visit the Three Swans cafe. The Moche (£3.60) was not nice and the fruit scone was stale with a hard cardboard like bottom. Best value place to grab a coffee and bite to eat in Market Harborough? Waitrose cafe.

We ate there on 16th December. but in the restaurant there was no atmosphere at all. None of the three courses we had were at all special. The vegetables were either rock hard, especially the sprouts (with soggy outsides) these could not possibly have been fresh. For the price paid this is definitely not acceptable.

Really lovely cosy hotel, in a great and central location. Stayed here with a number of colleagues last night on a conference, b&b with dinner deal. Food is really good and service also. Rooms are very nice, especially the bathroom. Market Harborough is really nice and the hotel is right on the High St. I had a room at the back (and ear plugs) so wasn't bothered by the church bells ringing every 15 mins but that would probably be an issue for any light sleepers facing the front.

We'd had reservations at another resturant last night (19/08/2020) and didn't like the atmosphere at all so naívely thought to leave and find somewhere else; completely forgetting that the "eat out to help out" scheme had everywhere fully booked. The Three Swans was one of the last places we were going to try and we were delighted to have the General Manager (forgive me as I've forgotten the name) tell us that we could be seated! The service from that point was incredibly personable and friendly. The staff were similarly so and attentive and the food was incredible. Not to mention the restaurant space itself is gorgeous and comfortable with a lovely atmosphere! Granted we were likely riding the high of having our night "saved" but I'm very greateful that despite having been busy themselves they not only accommodated us but did so in such a welcoming way. Thank you!

I have never experienced such rudeness from staff in any establishment I have ever visited(and I am over 60 years old). You would think considering the current climate for the hospitality industry they would welcome customers and not be rude just because they are relatively busy due to the "eat out to help out" scheme and the very good weather.I was grunted at by the pizza chef when I enquired if they were still serving food and spoken down to by the seating host because I dared to ask if they had a table.Establishments like this have taken government money ie taxpayer money yet treat people as though they are doing us a favour.I know the three swans well and know their food is both average quality and overpriced so needless to say I did not stay. There are plenty of other better, cheaper and more welcoming establishments in Market Harborough so why use this one ?

Firstly the wèddong reception was great fun and the room was a good size.We stayed in a superior room, here are my points in order1. Key card didn't work initially as I had held it next to my phone and that wipes it...be helpful if they told you this.2. Soaking wet towel left in bath3. Toilet wouldn't flush properly as cistern only half filled.4. Bathroom walls are filthy there is a white residue on the tiles and I doubt it has been cleaned for years5. Extremely dusty room...general standard of cleanliness is poor.6. Bedside lamp didn't work ( bulb) swopped for another extremely dusty one.7. The church bells do go off with regularity which may annoy.8. Food in bar was ok9. Breakfast was ok...scrambled eggs had a strange taste...bacon was boiled rather than grilled but edible.10. All tables had a sticky feel...needs a damn good clean. In conclusion the room prices for this hotel are not good value and way above what they should be for this quality. Appears to me that the owners aren't interested in this business or they are totally unaware of its issues.

You need to renew all of the ‘No Smoking’ stickers on the tables & it would also be a good idea to have some sort of sign up. It’s ok for regulars as they know where the smoking areas are but others don’t. You can’t blame the public when a manager goes across to their table at least twice & didn’t say a word!! No body wants to have smoke blown across them while they are eating food! Walked in off the street for a brief lunch on a Saturday. The menu sounded reasonable enough, however, I should have been concerned when I was advised they “don’t sell soft drinks with sugar because of the sugar tax!” I am unable to have any kind of sweetener, so this instantly limited my options to virtually nothing! We ordered some sharing plates and a soup. The soup was flavourless and watery, the sharing plates were all dry, bland and we found them inedible. Unfortunately, there were so little staff that we were unable to provide feedback; another worrying sign. With so many lovely places to eat in Market Harborough, we were beyond disappointed with The Three Swans and will not return.

As a party of four we dropped in for Sunday lunch. We were given the option of dining in the restaurant area but chose the more informal cosy looking bar. The menu is fairly small but has a good choice and range of dishes. The Scottish lady who took our order was very nice and bubbly checking on us throughout our meal which unfortunately wasn't mirrored by all the serving staff as some appeared to wish they were elsewhere. Our mains consisted of Roast Beef and Fish and Chips which arrived quite quickly but was all freshly prepared and plentiful. We managed to fit in a sticky toffee pudding each to round off the meal which we all agreed was of a reasonable standard, and cost, which worked out at £40 per head including a bottle of wine.

The bistro bar cafe dinning area on the ground floor is nicely decorated and comfortable, the staff were pleasant however the service was slow. We ordered the Christmas burger and the Fish bap, both came with fries. The burger was over cooked and dry and for £14 was not value for money. On arrival we were told our tea had been cleared away and that they had stopped serving afternoon tea at 5.00 p.m. - but crucially, that they could easily re-assemble it. We were shown to a good table immediately to wait - and were then asked which teas/drinks we would like. Within 5 mins two enormous cake stands arrived filled with a range of excellent sandwiches, delicious scones, pastries and jams/fresh cream. Waiters and managers asked us more than once during our sojourn whether we had everything we wanted. Our experience could not have been better in any way. My only criticism is that whilst it is marvellous to see an historic inn restored as a successful business, the refurbishment could have been more sympathetic to the building itself. Although a very pleasant environment, the room we sat in could just as easily have been the interior of one of the smarter 'Prezzo' - there was little to suggest an eighteenth century coaching inn. The company that owns the building has successfully re-vitalised a number of similar inn properties, so one must assume they know what they are doing. We are definite supporters and hope to visit all their properties at some time.

We were under the impression that there was a restaurant and a separate coffee bar, but they were the same! Unfortunately on a Sunday night we had chosen the b& b and dinner option. A mistake as the dinner selection was a basic pub option with chips with everything not what we expect for what we paid we should have stayed in the Travelodge and eaten in town. We have had far better experiences in other hotels and much better food for the same price. The other people in the bar area two families and children running riot all over the place plus the foul language from the adults was not good. Your management staff seem to be scared to do anything about it asking us are they travellers, sorry we are your customers! My partner had stayed here many years ago and was very disappointed with the overall standard, I think for what we got for our money it was extremely poor value.

We stopped off for a quick bite and chose a sort of tapas type lunch. The hummus was gorgeous..definately home made. There were also pizzas being freshly made outside. They looked superb but we were a bit too full to order pizza on this occasion. We certainly will though. The outside space is a sun trap and we had a lovely, relaxed time. Definately worth a visit

Over the years we have eaten many, many times at the Three Swans in all its incarnations. Today did not disappoint - a tasty and inexpensive lunch served with friendly professionalism. The conservatory area is a wonderful spot to eat - comfortable, bright and clean.

Our son was on a school trip so we decided to have a 'date'"night. We decided on the Three Swans. It was apparently unusually busy for a Thursday night but that did not impact on our evening. We both chose the beef ribs for our main courses which were delicious. I had Eton mess for dessert whilst my partner chose a chocolate sundae. We enjoyed our evening. I must mention the friendly service and the nice washrooms too.

We visited the Three Swans for my birthday lunch on a Sunday, I particularly wanted to try the pizza, it was delicious and great to watch it being made from fresh out in the courtyard in the huge pizza oven. All of our party enjoyed their meals including the children! The staff were friendly and attentive, we had a bright airy spot in the restaurant and the General manager could not have been more friendly or helpful, he really went the extra mile. We will be back! thank you

Eight of us ate at the hotel on Sunday lunchtime. Despite it being Sunday, and the roasts looking very tasty, we all chose pizza. Pizza's were light and delicious. I would recommend the crumble. Staff were friendly and on hand. We will be back.

We were looking for somewhere at the last moment for Sunday lunch and getting quite late. We were recommended this place. And we are happy to further that recommendation. It's not high class but the food appears to be all freshly and well cooked and was tastier than we were expecting! The apple and summer berry crumble was superb - sharp but too much so, crumble was crispy and light. It's not a pretentious place and the décor a little mixed but not displeasing. If you're stuck in the town and you're hungry, you can't go too far wrong

Breakfast here is awful. Cheap and nasty meat, cheap bread. Overpriced. You would be best to go elsewhere for breakfast. We won't be back.

Really like this place. I have been in for a drink many times, I have stayed there and eaten there. Because it’s a hotel and there are business guest in the bar in the week, it’s a comfortable place to go in on your own, as most people are. The prices are higher than the adjacent places which keeps the riff raff out. It also has a lovely outside patio area which is a great sun trap.

Came here for evening food and drinks and to sit out in the beautiful courtyard. What seemed to start off perfect was ruined due to the clientele allowed to drink in there, there was a crowd of 8 lads absolutely beyond drunk and still being served. They were loud and annoying then one proceeded to fall asleep and then had to be lifted by friends to get up, he then proceeded to throw up in the courtyard. Not something you really need to see whilst eating. Was disappointed that staff did not move them on before it got to this

Lovely place to sit outside in the sun, however we ordered our food and it came out staggered. The pizzas came first and were still slightly doughy around what should have been the crust. It then took a further 30 minutes (until my husband enquired and they checked) for the fish sandwiches to arrive - which were delicious.

Food was splendid. The staff were very friendly although the only fault would be it look them a long time to get drinks. However there was a large good of ya and so this was to be expected. The interior was lovely, very classy and modern.

visited here before but only for a drink. Visited here bank holiday for lunch, We sat in the courtyard at a table in the sun, there was a covered area to eat outside as well. My husband ordered a pizza which was cooked before your eyes in the courtyard, he said it was one of the best pizzas ever! I ordered the sea bass with crispy kale, butternut squash and pots, absolutely delicious. the service was great and friendly staff. although when we asked for the bill, they had only charged us for our 2 drinks each! but we were honest enough to point this out to the very grateful manager and paid for our food as well. Very impressed and will return

We stayed at the Three Swans the night before our two weeks on the canal boats. It's right in the center of town. The hotel staff are friendly and accommodating. We had to wait quite awhile for our room but made the best of it by exploring the town. The rooms were smaller than I remember but we'll appointed and the beds were comfortable. Be advised that there are no elevators, however, staff are available to assist with getting luggage upstairs. Enjoyed breakfast the following a.m. - both European and American selections. I'd come back again.

We have been to the three swans a few times as we live nearby however last Saturday night the food let them down the starter of halloumi and watermelon was delicious however I ordered the teriyaki cod for main course and my other half ordered the steak which was delicious and cooked to perfection however my cod was very bland there was little sauce over the noodles and vegetables, it tasted very salty, I assume someone had just drizzled the dish with soy sauce instead of teriyaki. We complained to the waitress who told us she would inform the chef, I couldn’t eat any of the dish but was not offered anything to replace it, the waitress was very polite and attentive throughout the rest of the service and did take my main course off the bill at the end of the meal. The food choice definitely needs updating at the three swans, however the wine was very pleasant and the staff are very attentive

Such a shame. This Hotel, which also has restaurants, bars and an outside seating area is ideally placed in the centre of vibrant Market Harborough. It has a lovely atmosphere and a great location. So why is it so bad ?

We like to spend the odd afternoon with friends or family passing time over a bottle of wine and a meal in the conservatory. A pleasant place to chill out and the staff in the main are usually very attentative. (Not always though)! However, for some time now we have notice that the quality of food being presented is seriously in decline. In some establishments the food may vary according to the chef in situ on the day, but the Three Swans are consistent but not in a good way. Come on Three Swans. In days gone buy you offered a high quality menu and even silver service. To lower your aims to a "bistro/cafe environment does not mean you have to lower food standards. Change the menu and produce better food please.
