First time in the pub booked a table for 3. Lovely warm welcome from all the staff. My nan who is 95 used to be a chambermaid in the war times & my nan was talking to the staff about it.they all took the time to listen to her it was so lovely she could share her story & others be interested. Food was absolutely delicious 😋 Lovely atmosphere all round would definitely recommend & will be going back again.

Oh dear I’ve done it again! Lovely walk from Devizes with friends looking forward to a nice lunch. I said I wasn’t going to have the butchers board but temptation took me. We all had delicious meals and drinks served by cheery staff. I’m sure we will be back. I’ll try to have something different next time.

Great pub. A wide choice of meals and reasonably priced. Generous portions and beautifully presented. Highly recommend the Butchers board. Atmosphere was friendly and the staff welcoming and helpful. Dogs get spoilt as well. Only a short walk from the canal tow path.

What not to like. We had beef and ale pie which was the best pie meal we've ever had in a pub/restaurant ever. Excellent thank you.

Been coming here for a while now, I can honestly say I’ve not found a friendlier pub, the food and service are excellent, the garden is lovely, can not recommend enough!

Great pub next to Heathrow. We were first customers of the day on our return home day, and had a legit English ale and meal at Three Magpies. Great foid and friendly, fast service. Lovely old building and a great vibe.

On a beautiful sunny day we walked to the Three Magpies and had a very friendly and polite young lady who told us to take a seat in the garden . Two minutes later she came and offered to get us drinks and would we like the lunch menu. We were waited on from the time we arrived until we left and I can say without exception we received the best small portion ( which was more than adequate)of fish and chips we have ever had. The fish was succulent with a fine crunchy batter, delicious and extremely nice chips I would thoroughly recommend and can’t wait to return .

We were staying at the Caravan and Camping Site in Spouts lane so Three Magpies is a stones throw away The Staff here are so friendly and welcoming, The place is always so busy so would recommend booking a table if you want to eat. We came here every day sometimes twice a day whilst away, Food was excellent drinks great but for me it was the BEST COFFEE ever, From a local coffee roastery so good that I have come home and ordered some for the house and work. They have a lovely garden with lots of tables for when the weather is being kind. Nothing seems to much trouble for them here and it is most definitely a place that I will recommend to everyone and one that I will be coming back to

Dinner for 22 people was no problem for this pub. The food was excellent and the service very good as well. Everyone got their meal quickly and we weren’t eating at different times. It was so good that a couple of us went for lunch again the next day and I enjoyed their gluten free fish and chips.

I booked a table for two a few days ago for Sunday lunch today. We were welcomed by a staff member who took us to our table and took our drinks order. There was a good selection of roasts and other dishes available with a choice of standard or smaller sized portions. The food arrived quite quickly and the plates were full of a variety of freshly cooked vegetables, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and a very good amount of roast meat. The food was hot and the vegetables were just right - a selection of green vegetables, parsnip, red cabbage and mashed swede. Everything was delicious and the staff were very visible to check everything was okay. We ate everything and just about had room for a dessert. A huge red fruit pavlova with ice cream and a crème brûlée. It was a delicious meal, well presented and an excellent price.

We went for Sunday lunch, they serve small plates, which is excellent if you're not a big eater, however, they are still a decent size. The main courses and desserts were excellent, you get a large variety of veg with your roast. The service didn't match up to the standard of food, there seemed to be enough staff, it was just disjointed with delays in drinks arriving, one plate being bought at a time, being offered the dessert menu but then having to ask for it 10 minutes later. I would recommend and would go back as the food is worth it.

Fantastic country pub with a more than generous selection of beverages for everyone with 5 star food served daily. We stayed at the camping site to the rear of the pub ( thoroughly recommended) and had Saturday evening meal and Sunday lunch with a delicious bottle of wine knowing no one had to drive. The staff are always so friendly and you can take your pet dog with you as well. We'll worth a visit or two.

Visited a couple of times whilst staying nearby. They have the friendliest of staff, super efficient and welcoming despite it being very busy. (Would say booking is essential, especially at the weekend.) Enjoyed a delicious meal - a good choice including a specials board. Not just your average ‘pub grub’- freshly prepared and beautifully presented. So lovely to sit and enjoy a 6X in a Wiltshire pub once more! Thank you!

Walked up from the canal for a quick lunch. Excellent friendly service, great local beers, and lovely chunky sandwiches. Just what we needed after a hard morning working through the locks.

Close to caravan site where we were staying, had a bit of a fancy for a local beer, not had one for years...Visited early evening had a pint or so of Swordfish, would recommend, checked out what food was available. And visited the following evening for meal and a pint. The burgers were fantastic, very good portions. Fairly priced. Staff very friendly and hospitable, up for some leg pulling. Enjoyed our evening and will definitely revisit next time we are down that way.

Staff handled our large party of adults and children with enthusiasm. Even though the place was packed, food arrived in good time and was very good. A good traditional pub. The only criticism is that it could do with a little bit of smartening up as the decor is a bit tired.

We visit regularly on Sundays for their Roast Beef and Butchers board. Always consistently fab food, service and price. Friendly staff and nice setting.

Great country pub with campsite behind. Went there on Friday evening and the food and service were so good that we booked for the following evening. Had bacon chop the first night and a massive fish and chios the following evening .

Sunday lunch was tasty. I had pork. So tender, juicy, mmmm. A side portion of cauliflower cheese, yum! A great visit, would come here again. THE LEMONADE WAS GREAT TOO!

We were staying at the Camping & Caravan Club site last weekend and booked a table here for 5 of us. Arrived early so sat in the beer garden with drinks in the sunshine. Shown to our table bang on time. Friendly, efficient staff who could not do enough for us. Food was served quickly and it was delicious. Can HIGHLY recommend the Butchers Board - two of us had it and the other 3 wished they had!! Great choice of real ales and ciders too. Will definitely be back when staying in Devizes again. Thanks to all the staff.

Camping in campsite next door so decided to spend our last night having a meal at this little gem , booked a table for Thursday evening glad we did as all tables were practically reserved. My husband had a gluten free menu always a bonus lots to choose from he went for small gluten free fish and chips and I chose chicken and leek pie of specials board . Food arrived nicely presented pie was absolutely delicious big chunks of chicken vegetables were beautiflly cooked and mashed potato creamy couldn't fault it at all , my husband's fish and chips were very nice mushy peas he said we're nice flavour. We decided to go for a pudding so glad we did I went for fruit berries roulade and ice cream presentation beautiful wish took photo it's one of best roulade I have ever had my husband went for gluten free stocky toffee pudding and custard he said was delicious big portion. Definitely recommend and will be going back to campsite next year definitely will be eating in there again well done to all staff especially chefs keep up the good work.

Staying next door at the C&CC site which is very good btw. Came for Saturday night and it is god friendly too. Nice table in the window, drinks served to the table. The bacon chop off the menu was excellent and the pie on the specials board was super too. Brillaint service by some lovely ladies and will be back when in the area. Personally I would have vanilla ice cream with the brownie, so swapped my clotted cream for my wifes ice cream. Writing this sat next door, might pop back later for a Guinness.

We had been stopping on the local campsite and decided to look for a pub within walking distance.My wife has allergy issues and we had not been sure we would find anywhere that catered for this.The fantastic welcoming staff soon put our minds at rest so we booked our evening meal for two plus the dog.Both had lovely meals and the staff could not have been more accommodating.Massive thumbs us from us and will return.

Have only recently moved to the area so trying out different places to eat as we go along.This was our first visit and it was a real treat. Every member of staff was friendly and welcoming which is so important. We hadn't booked a table but we went in about 6pm so not too busy and although there were reserved tables around us we were seated quickly (our candle was quickly changed and lit for us!) We were told to book if coming in for a Sunday roast which we will definitely be doing and as pescatarians, we checked they do an alternative to meat which they do.We had fish and chips, the smaller portion and it was just right. Fish light and fluffy with crispy batter, chips large and filling, mushy peas just right.We then had the choc brownie and sticky toffee pudding. Almost too pretty to eat!Finished off with two very nice coffees (think they use a local company for their coffee beans). Smiling faces and goodbyes as we left.It doesn't take much for pubs to get it right but so many don't but The Three Magpies do.

Eight of us, two families with adult children, stopped off on the nearby canal for an evening meal here. We booked for an early evening table as they apparently can get quite busy from the nearby caravan park. The staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful, the prices were very good and the food was exceptional. I went for their steak and kidney pie with veg and mash and was very happy with what arrived in front of me after a reasonable wait. The pie was a proper pie, which looked like it was a home made with pastry sides and bottom (not one of those meat in gravy mixes shoved in a small dish with a flaky pastry top!!), the mash was tasty and the fresh green veg that came with it was perfectly cooked.I generally rate a pubs food by its ability to do a good pie and so my meal today was excellent. My friends and family's meals were also outstanding and there were absolutely no complaints and nothing wasted.I would highly recommend the 3 Magpies for a lovely meal out in a pleasant environment.

What a lovely friendly pub for a meal. Staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Came over for chats before our food arrived and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was excellent and will be going again when next in the area.

Cannot praise them enough, sunday roast was excellent, staff very accomodating and beer excellent, very handy as staying at the CCC next door.

We visited for Sunday lunch while staying at the nearby campsite. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was really very good, properly prepared and cooked vegetables (spinach, broccoli and roasted carrot and parsnip with hot, bubbly cauliflower cheese as an extra) - way beyond the usual boring peas and carrots. Puddings were homemade; we tried the creme brulee which was delicious. Pubs can often be judged on the effort they go to welcome guests and to cook properly. This pub cuts no corners and we'd happily visit every week if we lived locally. I would recommend it to anyone.

Have passed this pub many times on my way to Devizes and finally decided to try it for a meal. (The dog friendly rating was the clinching factor.) Warm greeting on arrival and nice table. Dogs were welcomed, not treated as an inconvenience. Drink service was prompt and beer was well kept. A nice, varied but not extensive menu with V and GF options. 2 of us had the fish and chips - very nicely cooked, lovely generous serving of (good) chips and lovely home made tartare sauce. The other member of our party had sausage and mash. Also very nice. (Although I think I got the better option.) Very pleasant staff. Recommended.

First visit since it's reopened under new management and it was so much nicer than before . The staff are really lovely and the food was delicious. It was a slightly limited menu but it's early days. They followed the new Covid safe rules and the pub was spacious and comfortable inside. When the weather finally warms up, the garden looks lovely too! Well worth a visit and will definitely be going back.

Food and service were absolutely fantastic - not just for us either - a couple of cyclists stopped by for a drink while we were there and the staff provided them with a couple of towels to help make themselves more comfortable.

Family lunch outside for six. Staff were very helpful and we were given a very friendly welcome. Food took about 30 minutes and we could not fault it. Covid protocols spot on. Recommend and hope to visit again.
