We had been recommended to try thisRestaurant having been frequent users of many Pub/Restaurants in the area. We were made very welcome and were impressed with the range of food available at lunchtime. The food was promptly served and very well presented. Generous portions, a little too much for us but this will be welcomed by most customers! The staff were friendly and efficient. We have since made two further visits with friends and family.

The pub is not longer open at all. It closed down in 2019 and there is no longer anywhere there to eat. You can carry on to the "Fox Revived" which is about a 5 min drive away and has excellent food

I booked this lovely family run country pub for my mother’s wake following her recent death. We had the most fantastic afternoon, the buffet that was provided was superb, all freshly cooked ,prepared and baked for us. Nothing was too much effort, including finding a dessert for a very hungry 11 year old! As the pub is usually closed on Monday afternoon we were able to make use of the bar and garden areas whilst we were there. Great news for Oscar the dog! The staff were friendly and helpful and I would not hesitate in recommending this country pub for any event. Thank you to everyone for such a lovely afternoon, my Mum would have loved the fact that we were somewhere she had enjoyed going for lunch with her friends.

Several people had recommended the Three Horseshoes and it had good reviews on this web site, so when a friend offered to take us out for Sunday lunch, we thought we would give it a try. We booked on line on Thursday - but quite by chance, we were driving past on the Saturday, so thought we would pop in and check it out. We were met by a very pleasant young lady who confirmed that we were NOT booked in - but not a problem - and she let us choose the table we wanted - Table no 8 - by the window overlooking the very pleasant garden. All ok so far. So we arrived at the allotted time on the Sunday - to find others sitting at our table - which was a bit disappointing - but we managed tp squeeze into another table. We chose the Sunday lunchtime roast menu. The starters were not that inspiring - the prawn cocktail was tasteless, but the cream of corn soup was excellent. The roast was excellent; we had beef and pork. Good roast potatoes and excellent well cooked (by which I mean not overcooked - but perfect) vegetables. A little disappointed in the Yorkshire pudding - were not quite cooked and a bit doughy - but excellent pork crackling.. Eton mess was exactly what it should be. Service was slow - but not really a problem for a Sunday lunch - as the last thing you want is to be rushed. It is clearly very popular, because as we left (about 4.30) the pub was still full with people enjoying their roast dinners. A good selection of ales and a good atmosphere - although ours was a little spoilt by the loud party who were sitting at our (?) table. Dont expect a wine list - have a look at the bar as you go in - but nice wine I would go back again - but I would not rush to do so. All in all I thought it was good value for money and the food was good to very good -let down by the prawn cocktail. Being as how busy it was - I wonder what might have happened if we had just turned up at our allotted time - as I did not see any spare tables !

My rambling eyes were bigger than our boots and we needed a lunch stop to make it round the loop. We stumbled into the Three Horseshoes and boy were we glad!!. I had the Ploughmans and my wife and daughter shared the bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich. Both were delicious and served with a smile. Couldn't ask for more and we'll be back.

We can’t deny we hadn’t planned to go to the three horseshoes inn, but when we couldn’t get into another pub we were certainly glad we ended up here! We were a party of 8, including two toddlers and some of us can be quite snobby with our taste in food, but we were all very impressed with our meal. The waitress (and owner I believe) couldn’t have been more attentive or accommodating. She had put us in our own snug area as we had a newborn and pram. We all had the Sunday roast (reasonably priced at £9.95 compared to many gastropubs and a smaller kids portion available). It was a significant wait for the food but worth it! Good portion size and all of it cooked well. The deserts were delicious too. There is an area to play in the garden for the children too, which may benefit from a bit of tidying up (in my opinion, the toddlers weren’t fussed!). It isn’t as modern or flash in terms of decor as some of its rival pubs, but don’t let that put you off, it is clean and the welcoming staff and yummy food make it well worth a visit!

Went with my wife and daughter. Have eaten lunch here before and very happy to return. Traditional pub serving fresh food. I had roast pork with veg, Yorkshire pud and gravy. My wife had Gammon with the same roast accompaniments. My pork was tender with proper crackling. The veg were fresh and beatifully cooked. One of the best roasts I have ever had in a pub/restaurant. My wife agreed. My daughter had a Chicken burger with chips that she also enjoyed. Well worth a visit. A small friendly place we will be going back

On the spur of the moment, we decided to visit the Three Horseshoes. There was plenty of places to park, always a big plus and we were very impressed with the work that has been done to the garden since our last visit. It was quite busy in the front bar, although we didn't see anyone eating. We sat in the small back dining room. There wasn't much atmosphere but at least we could look out over the garden in the rain. The friendly barmaid took our order and we both decided to have the homemade chicken and ham pie. We had a bit of a wait for it to arrive but we didn't mind because it was delicious and the fresh vegetables were perfectly cooked. Neither of us are particular fans of red cabbage, but the red cabbage at the Shoes was really good. We will definitely be returning but probably in the summer when we can sit in the lovely garden. Maybe there is a bit more atmosphere in the evenings or on Sunday lunchtime.

Six family members took Mum for Sunday lunch at 'The Shoes' for her 88th birthday, the food was excellent and such good value for money, the traditional roast was one of the best around here and the 2 that had alternatives to the roast found their meals just as good. Was not told of any special conditions or menu restrictions, but was asked to give a list of menu requirements before the date of the meeting.Told them one week before and was then told that they would restrict the menu to 3 items only. The 3 items were very uninspiring, I think the did this knowing it would be nearly impossible to re-book an other venue at short notice.we were all going to spend in the region of £30 per head giving them an afternoons take of approximately £750, could they have not got some temporary staff to cover the event? if not what is the point of having a function room?Or is a con trick?

I have just returned from having lunch with my sister at The Three Horseshoes and we were pleasantly surprised. This is the first time we have visited the pub and we went for the 3 course 'senior' lunches. We found the staff extremely friendly and many of the customers appeared to be regular as they were all very chatty and pleasant. The food was good value for money at £8.95 for three courses and no waiting between courses. The pub is very comfortable and homely and the gardens and outside seating area is very attractive and is ideal if you have children or dogs as is completely secure with fencing all round. I have to mention the cleanliness of the pub inside and out as it was spotless not something I would normally even mention it but in this case it was so noticeable. I would definitely go back - overall good service.

We arrived at the Three Horseshoes after a 5 hour walk with 2 small babies. We were a little frazzled and tired and gutted to hear that they had just finished serving food. Still, they offered us some lovely tasty sausage rolls and we went to recuperate in the comfy seats in the garden. 3 mins later the manager arrived and informed us that the chef would be willing to offer us some roasts if we were interested. We gratefully accepted, they set us up a table and we were offered superb chicken and veggie roasts. 2 of our party are real foodies (and not easily pleased) and they were delighted with the quality. Really kind to reopen the kitchen for us. Really great attitude and service and we will be returning. Not sure what the negative reviews were on about. We really loved our experience here. Thank you.

We go out to lunch once a month with friends and always try to go somewhere different each time but our recent choice has not been a memorable one as the ploughmans was very unenjoyable due to over cooked bread, only one choice of cheese, stale scotch egg and a pickled onion that would strip paint, having said that the ham was very tender for the other ploughman's.The service was excellent and there is a nice garden so perhaps we have been unlucky with the food.

Apart from traditional the Sunday roasts we ordered were bordering on the terrible and a particularly desperate advert for pub food: cold plates, thin over cooked slices of beef, vegetables straight from the grocer without stopping for a bit of steam cooking. Atmosphere on a Sunday very bland. As we were just returning from France, this could not have been a worst "gastronomic" shock. Next time we will make our way to the "home cottage" in Redhill or the Toby jug in Crawley.

The pub has a family run feel to it. We arrived earlier than the midday opening time but were still welcomed in from the cold and able to order drinks. The food is served in large portions - not so huge it puts you off, but you need to be hungry to get through it all. We have asked to take a doggy bag on occasion and this is not a problem. I usually tend to order the omelette or fish and chips both of which are superb. I would certainly recommend this for a relaxed lunch with friends and family at any time of year, and when it is warm there are plenty of tables out the back. I visited the pub for Sunday lunch with friends today, we had not been in for some months and I was unaware of the change of ownership. I had booked a table for 1.30. The pub did not seem overly busy but the new landlord was very welcoming so I was not worried. We noticed a big family group who were ordering as we were looking at the menu, but not many other customers were eating. The menu had changed but there was plenty to choose from and we ordered. More than an hour later we were still waiting for our meal to arrive. Eventually the food came. to be fair I will say perhaps I did not choose well - a hot beef sandwich with chips and a side order of onion rings. On the up side, the chips and onion rings were excellent - crispy and delicious, but I suspect the sole of my flipflop would have been easier to eat than the beef and the bread was from a sliced loaf. I was disappointed. That said, my husband enjoyed his Giant Yorkshire Pudding with sausages, mash and gravy, and the Roast Pork Sunday lunch was cleared by another member of the party - but, by the time it came we were hungry, it was near to 3pm. There were apologies from all the staff for the wait, but I am afraid we will not be back any time soon.

I have now eaten in the Pub twice recently and was dissappointed on the first occassion but thought they had recently taken over and needed to settle in. However the meal was even worse last week with a poorly cooked fish which was also greatly reduced in size of the portion. The regulars seemed to have reduced and sadly so has the choice and quality of the beer.

Looked up this pub , as it was one of my haunts as a teenager. We'd been to East Surrey for a hospital appointment and needed dinner. So found this on the trip advisor and dice fed to give it a try. What s lovely meal. Whitebate with were fat and tasty and and the baked Camembert was to die for. My husband had the salmon which was moist and a lovely selection of veg

After recommending, I took a friend for lunch today, and wasn't sure if it would be as good as it always has been! 0n the contrary, I think it was the best ever. We had the most wonderful sandwiches on very tasty and fresh granary bread, crammed with fresh succulent fillings, a fresh and original salad and tasty chips, thoughtfully arranged and very tasty. Excellent value and good wholesome food. The place is a good old fashioned country inn, clean, fresh, tastefully decorated and with a very pretty garden and outside area. Probably the best place we've had for a pub lunch.

In the evening, that is - I can imagine the expansive garden and large new decking area being deluged in summer...what a gorgeous spot. Good unusual artisan ale and food cooked perfectly (moist tender jerk chicken, lemon sole) and lovely bar staff will see a successful 2015 I hope. Fine quality re-furb will pay dividends. A thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours spent on a Friday evening.

Having heard that there had been a refurbishment and change in management at the "Shoes" we were keen to make a visit. We were not disappointed, it is still a proper pub with an excellent and changing range of ales. The food was was traditional pub fare with a few interesting twists, fresh, well cooked with generous portions. There is now a short, well chosen, sensibly priced wine list. Service was friendly and efficient and the icing on the cake is that the "Shoes" is now dog friendly.

Based on all the good reviews, we booked here for Sunday lunch.Food was very average in very ordinary surroundings (un-laid tables). The roast dinners are generally around £12, but roast potatoes looked as though they had been re-heated from hours earlier. Dishes (main course and desert) were barely hot and presentation was just sloppy and uninspired. Even a silly issue, but, it is normal to have a spoon and fork provided for desert?Perhaps we just caught them on a bad day, but I am failing to understand the other great reviews for food at The Three Horseshoes.

My wife and I arrived at the 3The Three Horse Shoes on a Friday night in January after researching the Web for a good Pub / Restaurant in the Reigate area, their website looked promising and inviting. We arrived to find a Pub that was not busy on a Friday night, the staff were attentive but not particularly welcoming, We ordered a main course each my wife opting for the Thai red curry which was watery lacking and in flavour, mine; Rump of Lamb was a bit tough, the accompanying vegetables were acceptable but lacking any imagination. The Pub itself was cool, no fires lit, candles not lit on the dining tables, this on a Friday winter's night appeared to show a lack of hospitality, the only saving grace was the beer was good.A really disappointing experience.

Why is this pub closing? - see the home page at: http://www.thethreehorseshoes-pub.co.uk/. We had lunch there today and the food was very good, as was the beer, and the hosts / staff were friendly and helpful. The largest gammon steak that I have ever seen!

Had to find a pub/restaurant near Gatwick and found The Three Horseshoes via TripAdvisor. Afterwards we thought if this is 7/61 eateries in the area the top 6 must be fantastic. The pre-meal beer selection was great and the food and service superb. The main course goose was perfect and the Christmas pudding was the best I've had in years. Our guests both loved their fish choice and the French farmer's extra custard on his dessert made him even happier!. As a non English speaker he was also impressed by the high quality French spoken by one of the ladies who served us.A big thanks to the chef and staff concerned.

I have just eaten the best beef stroganoff of my life. Wherever I go to eat if stroganoff is on the menu I've always ordered it but I won't anymore because this stroganoff was so amazing I'd rather keep coming back for more. Great welcome too.

Recommended here for lunch and glad we booked as the pub filled quickly. This is a traditional pub, not changed in layout and style over the years and all the better for it. Easily found and with excellent parking facilities, the garden is great with wonderful open views over fields. The service is the only average aspect out of an excellent meal. The food was superb, great goats cheese starter followed by wonderful roast lamb meal, in which the ingredients were of top quality and cooked to perfection. Tips to improve the service, firstly check on the customers to see if they're meal is to their liking and when there is confusion over an additional drinks order, not to roll your eyes, but smile and accept the very elderly get confused sometimes.

We visited last year and met family and enjoyed good company and a singer. This visit was as a couple and sans everything as it was pretty quiet. A tasty meal, no pudding menu, puds a weaker point but great real ales and super choice for that traditional pub atmosphere and so near London, wish we had one like this in Cheshire

This was our second visit here with friends on Friday night. Still as good as previously reported. Seated in the bar, excellent ale and fabulous, straight-forward, honest food at reasonable prices. In these days where the market is flooded with Gastro pubs where you have seen the menu and the prices somewhere else, the Three Horseshoes shows that there is still hope for the traditional pub serving very good quality food.

"The Three Horseshoes" is a pub we visit occasionally. The beer I particularly like is a pint of London Pride - always good !My partner is not a beer connoisseur and usually has a soft drink or occasionally a glass of white wine. There is a large car park meaning it's not necessary to park on the road although some customers do.Service always fast and friendly. The garden at the rear is a very nice, quiet place to have a drink - when the weather is warm.I am pleased to say that NO music is played in the pub or at least it wasn't on our visit. It is a typical local establishment and on the day we visited a number of locals (perhaps 6) were lined up along the bar - all were men which is typical of a lot of pubs. The food is quickly served and is on the whole of an acceptable standard.I would certainly recommend "The Three Horseshoes" to others.

Ive had several lovely meals here and I never walk away disappointed. The staff are always happy to help and are always on hand if you need anything. I find them pleasant and friendly. The food is always amazing, we go there generally for a family meal (11-15 of us) and we are always greeted with a friendly smile. We had last time we visited pheasant terrine which was so tasty I could of taken a slice of it home with me. We had roast dinner and the meat was so tender it was delicious, not dry at all. The cabbage was delicious, the odd occasion I didn't mind my little one not to eat his veg - ha ha. There isn't baby changing facilities, but due to it being so nice in there I don't care! When the weather is nice, its lovely to sit in their beer garden. I would really recommend The Three Horseshoes xxx

From the very first enquiry to paying the bill, nothing was too much bother here. There were 11 of us for a family meal and we found the 3 Horseshoes on Tripadvisor and we were very pleased that we did. We had our own dinning room which is an extension to the pub (separate) with a large square table, very nicely decorated and absolutely enough for 11/12 of us. Most of us had pre-ordered but the others orders were taken efficiently and after a few drinks, starters arrived and they were all excellent, as were all of the mains, deserts, beers and wine. This is not fine dining or the usual gastro-pub cuisine, but good, honest, wholesome, cooking with excellent quality ingredients and very pleasant efficient service. For this style of dining, you just can't fault the 3 Horseshoes. Oh, and it's good value and make sure you are hungry if you have the pie!

Last night, Valentines Day, we enjoyed yet another totally outstanding three course meal which in all honesty, would not have disgraced a Michelin Star restaurant. When Rob and Jenny host one of their outstanding " special evenings " so much thought is given to the menu as well as the extras - last night the table settings and flower decorations in the pub all combined to make this another memorable evening. In addition last night, Rob and Jenny had provided music by Javier Moreno and one of his Los Amigos Band. The vocals and accompaniment on a guitar from this Spanish duo were most enjoyable, particularly as the level of sound made it possible to carry on a conversation as well as listening to them. This is our " local ", and I cannot recommend this highly enough for food, atmosphere or friendliness - so if you have not been to " The Shoes " yet - why not ?

Booked on the day for lunch after a recommendation from a friend. This is a traditionally run pub offering daily food and a good range of draft ales. Wife and I had the Sunday roasts and desserts and very impressed we were. Despite being busy we were served promptly and in a friendly manner. Meals were freshly cooked and extremely flavoursome.

We went to the threeshoes last night for a family celebration. We used the small function room for a party of 20, and cannot fault it's food or service. Jenny made us feel welcome from the time we arrived to the time we left. Every dish came out both hot and tasty, all at the same time, and the team were particularly friendly to our children. I would recommend this place for small party celebrations without a doubt.

This pub in Reigate is a must-visit for beer and meat lovers alike. With a laid-back, rustic vibe, it’s the perfect spot for anyone looking to unwind with a hearty meal and a cold pint. The beer selection is extensive, covering everything from local craft brews to well-known favorites, ensuring there’s something for every taste. The food menu is refreshingly straightforward, focused on expertly crafted burgers and perfectly cooked steaks. The burgers are juicy, stacked high with fresh ingredients, and packed with flavor, while the steaks are tender and cooked to perfection. With friendly service and a lively atmosphere, this pub is a great go-to for a no-fuss, delicious meal with friends.

The hospitality was warm and welcoming and we felt like appreciated guests. The server built a natural rapport and was attentive. He was polite and genuinely friendly throughout, which greatly added to the experience. The food was utterly delicious, the mussels were excellent quality and extremely fresh, the white wine sauce was perfect with a creamy but subtle wine taste. Perfectly seasoned, crispy fries. The pub is beautiful a warm, comfortable and friendly environment. I will spread the word and return again soon!

Very disappointed. We were a little late because the road was closed and we had to go a long way to get there, the lady behind the bar was not happy with us even after we apologised. The price of each of our meals was £18 so you expect a good standard. The fish in the fish and chips was very small and overcooked and the peas were barely warm. The fish pie had one king prawn in it and was served with 8 green beans and 2 halves of carrot. The aubergine gratin was burnt and when I asked for another one the waitress said it was supposed to look like that, but when I pointed out that its possible to cook it without burning it she took it away. All in all, it wasn't a nice experience and we certainly won't be going back.

Outstanding friendly service and good quality food. Had the wings and ham eggs and chips. Good size potions, lovely fresh carved ham, none of the thin packet stuff. Food was piping hot and 2 course for £10.25 just amazing value. Friendly food servers and bar staff. Will be back
