Three Horseshoes in Harlow

I worked there in the 70s and it was proper public house with two bars and a small restaurant, packed to the hilt,it was fabulous. NOW! A run down dull pub, dirty worn out decor, no atmosphere, a sports bar, TV and pool table, converted barrels for tables. The female staff worked hard, busy with a wake. Not a pub for a night out.

Hello I am writing to inform you about the old guy at till who refused to give me water i felt like i was going to collapse i was in desperate need of water and he did not give me water i am disappointed with this service i really hope this can improve the quality for the future customers as i do not want this for anyone else this is appalling from this pub and he should be ashamed he did not give us a reason for not serving us which is childish of him he also took longer to serve us because he was having a cigarette which is unhygienic of him.

I walked into the three horse shoes restraunt harlow ,I wanted to have a glass of tap water, the old man at the till said he is refusing to serve me,l asked why he told me he did not have to tell me why. The man was disrespectful and childish, I hope this does not happen to anyone else. I also had to wait about 10 minutes for the bar attender to come inside from having a cigarette to serve me. Do not recommend, bad service, bad attitude Overall dispointing

Friendly well run pub, Karaoke nights on Wednesdays and Fridays are great nights. Bar staff are friendly as are local clientele, definitely worth a visit

Visited with friends at short notice on a Saturday night because pub we had booked for dinner had been flooded during a storm. Pub looks very pretty from the outside. Food was standard pub fare, but well cooked and very tasty. Unfortunately, the whole place smelt of frying and our clothes reeked of it when we left. There were some people sitting outside who allowed their very young children to run amok inside the pub , screaming and shouting (and vaping!), at 9.00-10.00 at night and the staff seemed completely oblivious. We had a nice evening because we were with friends, but it isn't a pub we are likely to be re-visiting.

Great atmosphere, especially with karaoke on Wednesdays, the bar staff are the loveliest and liveliest in town and supremely welcoming, the customers are also very welcoming, never seen any trouble, a very warm place to drink. I would come back often!

Been coming here for a while now. Willow and her team are welcoming and kid friendly. Not just my local pub it's now a home from home. Fantastic atmosphere.

I was there for the first time for a Christmas party. Nice, friendly staff and surprise...the toilet, despite the pub was full, and lot of people drunk, was really very clean. Congrats!!!

From what I remember I had a fantastic night at this local establishment. I particularly enjoyed the fine ale and the spiffing entertainment. Although I did end up on my arse while trying to do my shoe laces up, it did not distract from the evening. Highly recommended pub, brilliant staff, with something for all 🤗🤗

Back in the 70s I was the manager. Eddie Randall was the owner. Manual was our Spanish waiter. Happy days, and nights.

We had a lovely meal with staff - Colleen, Charlotte and Nige. Very helpful and happy staff. Totally flexible and not task was too much

Nice friendly place good beer 10/10

My daughter and I was in the Uk for 5 weeks and this became our go to pub to meet family and friends the staff and regulars were very friendly and helped my daughter especially when she was on her own. The food was lovely and very cheap. Now back home in NZ we are missing the local pub 🙂

By all accounts excellent. The buffet food was excellent and well varied. The staff where brilliant and couldn't do enough to help. We wanted a nice send off for our loved one and it was perfect. Would highly recommend this public house for its location, food and excellent service. Don't take my word for it. Give it a try 😉 😏

Under new but very experienced management - we had a really fantastic lunch at this recently refurbished and re-opened pub, tucked away in a really pretty village. The atmosphere was great; friendly and welcoming. A few locals at the bar, and plenty of diners - would suggest booking ahead as we had done. Decent Tap Social beer, the rosé Sangria also a highlight. Food was outstanding. Rabbit naan with carrot ketchup was excellent on the starter menu, on the mains the burger was as good as you’ll eat anywhere, slightly fatty and moist, excellent hot skinny chips. They also do fantastic pizzas. Kids menu was good too. The chocolate pud was big enough to share, and the meal was capped with some really good strawberry Limoncello - homemade I think! Fun and friendly service, we had a great day out. Thank you!

Service is good and the Sunday roast is mostly good but the veg is more aldenti than our party prefered and the Yorkshire pudding needed another 5 mins at least.

the best steak i’ve ever eaten, the atmosphere is always great and the staff are always very friendly.

I took my family here for a meal and drink. On arrival the pre-booked time slot meant nothing, and had to wait around as the staff cobbled together seating for six. The meals were alright. The thing that caused us to leave on mass, was the abusive, violent regulars, who heckled and made their best attempts to start a fight. Never, anywhere in the Uk or abroad have I experienced this kind of aggressive behaviour! Unbelieveable, worst was the spineless landlord who asked us not to aggrevate these muppets. My advise, in the strongest possible terms, is to avoid this establishment as it is not family friendly!

Pre-booked a table two days before. Upon arrival there was no table available. Staff kept us waiting 15 mins at the bar for drinks and eventually pulled a couple of tables together to accommodate. The food was alright. I was over charged by £15, which I only realised when I got home. But that wasn't the worst of it. After our meal my husband and son tried to play a game of pool, and were heckled and abused by a couple of local muppets who were eagerly looking to start a fight. The landlord did nothing and we had to abandon the pool game and leave! Definitely not a family friendly pub meal experience. We will never visit again.

Great to see this local pub open again and serving food. We had very enjoyable cod and chips, staff were friendly and good atmosphere. Looking forward to returning soon.

Had the best experience at the loveliest, dog friendly pub earlier! Gorgeous food and a lovely sofa in front of the fire that the lovely manager, Michael, kept topping up for us. We spent about 5 hours there in total, it was so cosy! Our waitress, Coleen, was so lovely too - even bringing the extra ketchup when we needed it! Will definitely return soon.

Lovely little pub, we visited recently for my sisters birthday at lunch time, it was very quiet when we got there but still a lovely setting. The menu that day was unfortunately very limited due to deliveries not showing up but the food we did have was lovely, well presented, tasted delicious and served nice and hot! Will definitely return. Thank you to the lovely barmaid/waitress!

So glad to be able to visit this pub once more after Covid. It has a smashing feel to the place in keeping with its traditions. The new management team made us feel very welcome. One word of warning, they were short on one or two menu items so if you have specific requirements a phone call before visiting may be worthwhile

It's so nice to find a family run business who understand that eating out with children can be difficult. I reserved for 15 people and 2 children last Saturday for my daughters 18th. we were greeted with a warm welcome. Orders were taken. The kitchen staff made sure all starters and main courses came out together. Food portions were good and the food quality was ok. As the mains came out my daughters youngest decided that he was hungry too and started crying. The landlady came and sat with us and bottle fed him so my daughter could continue eating. After the meal she brought out games for the kids to play, whilst all the time making sure everyone was ok. The staff went above and beyond and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning.

Went out on a Sunday for a family members birthday and let’s just say our meal was atrocious, we got there’s at around 3 and had booked a table, for 8, yet when we got to the table it was only set for 7 so we all had to squeeze round the table, waited ages for our drinks, of which we ordered a jug of water which came ages after the other drinks, starters were ok, I had the chicken goujons which leads to my current problem, I’ve woken up the next morning with horrible food poisoning, and my main was vegetarian so there was no way it could be that. I had the halloumi for my main which was bland and tasteless so I barely even ate it, we then waited forever to get more drinks and dessert menu etc. The place just seems severely disorganised and the staff don’t seem to care about their customers, they just care about getting bums in seats at tables and money in the cash drawer. Would not recommend to eat here at all, due to the terrible service and the food poisoning that followed ( the food poisoning could not be due to any thing else but the food from here as that’s all I ate that day)

Last Sunday my partner and I enjoyed a long country walk and decided to visit the Three Horseshoes on a spur-of-the-moment. I was reluctant as I'd booked for a table of 15 a few Christmases ago with my family and was totally embarrassed by the incredibly slow service. I decided to give it another go. The first thing we noticed was the amount of empty tables piled with dirty plates. I went to order a drink and was met with dirty wine glasses (all of them) hanging above the bar. If you can't wash and dry them properly, don't display them. While waiting for our meal, we witnessed an upset waitress threatening to leave. Frankly, I don't blame her, it was a Sunday afternoon at a pub that boasts of its Sunday Roasts and there were 2 waiting staff that I could see of. And then our meals were delivered by a stressed, indignant woman who I'm sure was management as she had jangly keys. We asked for cutlery and she gave us some from another table! The food was brought out quickly but in terms of quality was not worth the money. Stop bringing your cutlery out in pots. Clean and set your tables. Don't walk past a table that's covered in dirty plates and please, if you're a manager, don't make your diners feel as though they are an inconvenience to you. Employ more staff for a Sunday and keep them happy and motivated. Or if you'd like to keep all of these faults.... Charge less.

Six of us had lunch here recently. Food is really good and portion sizes are not small. This a really nice, clean and friendly tradiional pub serving fantastic food.

Went in three horseshoes for a family meal on bank holiday Monday 17/4/17 we had a drink first while deciding what to order of the menu, when we went to the bar to order our food the lady behind the bar said she was on her own and could only make sandwiches which was very disappointing because we all wanted hot food? There where no signs anywhere telling customers of staff shortages and limited menu, very disappointed.

Popped in here after seeing a promotion. Promotion was good but the atmosphere seemed strange. Could be so much busier but so quiet

Las tres cabalgatas tiene bastante recientemente ha sido reformado recientemente, parece muy bonito.La comida es de muy buena calidad-pub y es muy razonable, esperar a pagar un poco más y luego una weatherpoons, sin embargo este es de mucha mejor calidad.La gente que trabaja allí parecen tomar orgullo en su trabajo, y las hamburguesas son excelentes.Si no han visitado este pub por algún tiempo, ya que previamente habían bajado. Lo recomiendo totalmente que probar este pub de nuevo.El menú no es enorme, pero tiene algo para todo el mundo.

Cena para dos en una noche de jueves. No es muy concurrida. El personal es muy cálido y amable. Aparentemente tiene una reforma reciente y parece genial. Muy limpio y acogedor.La comida era deliciosa y bien presentada, no me puedo quejar. Lo único que diría es que las raciones son un poco grandes, especialmente si pides el plato entrante para compartir.Una buena selección de bebidas. Espacio en la parte trasera para dardos y una mesa de billar.
