Excellent food and service. Very reasonably priced and Jackie the server was great, friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

We went to the restaurant for lunch and were very satisfied. The service staff were very friendly, the drinks were good and the food was delicious. The restaurant is very lovingly furnished and there are plenty of seats inside and outside. There are also plenty of parking spaces in front and behind the restaurant.

Nice cozy pub. Seating inside and outside. Large parking lot behind the house. Friendly service, delicious food, nice atmosphere. Gladly again.

If I could give this place 1 star it would flatter it, avoid avoid avoid. Ping ping meals, shocking service, expensive, think I would rather have a ping ping tesco meal next time.

IF YOU ARE GLUTEN FREE - do NOT go here!!! Even though they advertise a gluten free menu - what they actually mean is - here’s a menu that we’ve taken off anything that has gluten in it and you can have what’s left. I hate this concept! Here’s an example: “Homemade crumble of the day. Buttery flapjack topping, creamy custard” - to make this gf - we serve it with no topping!! So stewed fruit and custard then eh?! Shocking really - absolutely shocking - how hard does it have to be? Poor waitress was lovely - if not embarrassed!

Good food, nice setting, great outdoor area. Drink prices a bit on the high side compared to pubs further up the road!

Do not go here for Sunday lunch!! The worse service I’ve ever witnessed. Waited 30 mins to get a drink. Waiters and waitresses did their best to keep their heads down so you couldn’t catch their attention. When we complained, the waitresses rudely responded with ‘we’re busy’. Meats was over cooked. Do not waste your money.

Went for a group Christmas meal and there was no loss of quality. Very nice. Good staff. Another year, great staff and atmosphere. Food portions were a bit on the small side, even the pensions finished 3 courses.

Phoned on route to see if there was a table available and when we arrived a nice table was reserved in the conservatory. We had the lasagne, which is always lovely. The only criticism I now have is that there is now an additional cost for the garlic bread at £2.50 which I feel should be included with the meal. We purchased this and a side of skin on fries between us which was ample. The staff were polite and pleasant and we had a lovely time.

The Three Cottages has lovely food, a brilliant team and a great atmosphere. The pub quiz in Tuesday is the best around! We always feel so welcome whether we go for food with the family or just 2 of us for a drink. Would highly recommend a visit!

A lovely little pub to stop off for a drink. There was plenty of drinks to choose from and the staff were very helpful when deciding what to have. The staff are friendly and the pub is so cosy. Food smells lovely and we will be back to try it soon!

Pub is upto date & modern, pity tables, floor & seating hasn't been kept clean. Prices are extortionate single Malibu & Lemonade £6. We would of eaten, but food didn't look very nice. Given 3 stars overall as staff were friendly.

Lovely fresh cooked food. Very friendly staff. Visited on a Monday evening, so was quiet (hence only 4 stars) for atmosphere, but would definitely visit again when working in the area and would highly recommend.

Booked a meal for four on a Saturday evening. Arrived an hour early but were accommodated and seated with no problem. Staff friendly, venue rustic and cosy. Lasagne was very good, chicken dish was also tasty. Crumble and custard very good. Will be going back.

Fabulous Sunday roast. Amazing food, great service and atmosphere

The place was very quiet when we went but the venue is very modern with an air of sophistication and class, and the food was fantastic, especially the steak was one of the best I've ever been served and cooked perfectly medium rare which in itself is somewhat of a rarity at most places.

Great service as usual here, been many times and never fails to impress. We had 4 mixed grills in our group with all the steaks cooked perfectly as well as the other meats, a definite recommendation to all to visit here.

Went on Christmas day party of 9 adults 2 Children, we all had a fantastic time nothing was to much trouble, the service was outstanding all food came out hot and it was perfect only one thing i could say is could do with more mash potatoe, otherwise it was gorgeous. It was my birthday. My partner booked the table and we were all very surprised on how things was. Staff very polite. The meal was excellent. Even though there was a few Christmas parties the atmosphere was great 👍🏿

Just Mush Booked a Sunday lunch with the family, lovely setting since they re-furbished, but avoid the conservatory when it’s cold as this is much colder than the rest of the restaurant (they know this as they have put a small fan heater in the corner), the draught from the car park doors is really bad. We all ordered a Sunday roast, (including 1 veggie) & the food arrived promptly, but that’s where the positive comments end. It was towards the end of service, but it seemed as if the food had been sat on a hot plate for hours, the beef was chewy & dry, the roast potatoes were dried out & cold, the mashed potato was out of a packet, but the carrots were the biggest surprise, I managed to wring water out of them (guess you couldn’t accuse them of being dry). No check from the staff to see if we were enjoying our meals, so we ate what we wanted, left quite a bit, paid the bill (no tip) & left. We will vote with our wallets & not return. This place is great I loved my meal.I recommend Jackie one of the waitresses she is so kind and patient, answers all questions asked and is really helpful

We had a lovely family meal here on Monday night for my son’s birthday. Jackie was very welcoming & helpful, the food was great and all good value!!

Excellent venue. Was really hopeful of a place to revisit. Menu ok. Prices high quality and quantity low. Plastic chips. Will not be back sadly, lovely place let down by the food.

Worst Sunday dinner I have ever eaten got a mix dinner of beef and chicken the chicken looked boiled ! On a bone asked for it to be exchanged for pork which was even worse it was very wet and fatty couldn’t even look at it never mind eat it the veg was hard and stale the beef was tuff I was so disappointed I said I’m sorry I can’t eat that for them to say iv taken it off the bill .. I didn’t get an apology awful the young waitress was nice who took our order tho ….

A lovely welcoming pub , visited twice this year for a function.

Me and my partner have come several times, great atmosphere and variety of drinks however there is one member of staff that really puts us off from coming, I don’t know her name but she has purple curly hair. Every time we come she scowls at us, doesn’t talk and has been rude with phrases like ‘I don’t care’ when trying to make conversations with her, I’d love to know her work schedule so we can come in on the days she’s not working as she ruins the experience every time. However I would like to say the young staff are absolutely lovely and so accommodating, very welcoming and chatty so if you find yourself in on a day she’s not working you’ll be fine :)

A great stop near the M1 on our way home from London.

After visiting our family home at Sutton Scarsdale, I looked to find somewhere nice for a hearty lunch. google directed me here and by jove it was a cracker. Friendly staff and swift service with good honest food at a reasonable price. We left with full bellies and the belief that we had struck lucky. Definitely be back as soon as I’m in the area again.

Booked a table at 5pm on Sunday, arrived and received a friendly greeting from Ash and shown to our table promptly and told who our servers would be. Flower brought us our menus and Jasmine came over and asked if she could get us some drinks while we looked at the menu, both were very friendly,smiling and welcoming. Our drinks were served within a few minutes and our food order taken. Our Garlic mushroom starters arrived after about 5 minutes and were piping hot and delicious. Our main course was also served after about 5 minutes of our starters being cleared by Kiera who checked everything had been ok. We had Pork and Chicken Sunday roast with all the trimmings and it was one of the best we'd had in ages. We finished off with the mini Eton mess and a Latte. Overall the food was excellent, hot and promptly served by the most friendly, helpful staff in Ash, Flower, Jasmine and Kiera that you could wish for, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning 😃

I’ve been to this place before a few times but today was the first day since they had renovated the place. The place is really lovely, great rooms great decor and outside area looks fab. I was meeting my daughter, son in law, and my almost 1 yr old grandson. We met at 1pm and took 15 mins looking at the menus and ordering drinks. The only thing I think was poor was the length of time it took to get our food. It arrived at nearly 2pm! My daughter even went to the bar to get some crisps for my grandson. The food arrived before he could have them. It’s such a shame as the food was great. Staff were courteous but children especially having to wait so long is not good. I write this to be a constructive criticism and will come again at some point.

Lovely quality pub. Always kept well and great decor. Outside areas are kept really nice and there’s a play area for the kids. Dog friendly which is great. Decent car park. Would be great if there were drink deals

Very disappointed when we arrived here yesterday for food with our friends following a football tournament. We arrived to the pub last & all of our friends had just ordered, we got to the bar to be told we weren’t allowed to order food outside as they were too busy (baring in mind the inside of the pub was empty!), I explained that our friends had ordered & we didn’t mind waiting, we just wanted to order food for our very hungry children as their friends had already ordered food. They still wouldn’t let us order food, so we sat & watched everyone else eat & then a member of staff came to tell us we could now order food, so begrudgingly my husband went to go & order food as my children were starving, to get to the bar & be told you can’t order food we’re too busy, when again, there was one or two tables eating inside. Very badly organised, after visiting here a lot in the past, I will never come again & us & our friends will be going elsewhere next time!

Gurt nice pub with a cracking beer garden. Tropical fruit cider? Get in my belly. Will deffo go back.

Lovely food, great staff and price of the meals were quite reasonable. The only thing that let it down slightly is there was no baby changing facilities.

I Came to the Three Cottages today for work... Had a bite to eat and a drink for my lunch. As always my work took me to every part of the pub including the kitchen. Very clean throughout and the food prepared by the kitchen for a wake looked very well indeed... Great selection of buffet food for a large gathering. Jackie, Jasmin and Ash were doing a fantastic job serving all the customers and keeping the whole trade area clean and tidy throughout my visit. I mainly dealt with Jackie today and she was a fantastic host.. a really pleasant lady, helpful and courteous. The 3 Cottages is a very beautiful venue it has a huge beer garden with children's play area and dog friendly.. 🐶🐶

We had a last minute meal at this pub, which we normally go to for a drink. The food was lovely and the service was quick and efficient. There was plenty of choice and the staff were more than happy to help.

We have been to The Three Cottages for a family meal for two Sundays now. The staff have been very friendly and helpful. Everyone found the food was excellent. We will definitely go again.

Just had a lovely meal with my other half ,and the food was great, we were served by a lovely young lady called amelia ,that even got me a candle 😆 I would highly recommend this place place for a nice meal and I'm very picky how I use my Saturday nights,highly recommend, shane

I went for the first time with my family for lunch. My wife had the curry platter, my daughter had a chicken burger and I ordered the mixed grill. The staff were friendly and attentive. When the food arrived, disappointment is an understatement. The mixed grill cost nearly £18.00 and it was underwhelming. The steak had so much fat and grisle, that when I cut it away the only thing left was a tiny piece of steak approximately 4cm by 4cm. There was one sausage, two luke warm overcooked chicken wings (never had chicken wings on a mixed grill) one fried egg and what I think was a pork chop. The chips were greasy and over cooked. My daughters chicken burger was so chewy and tasteless. My wife's curry platter also came with chicken wings, which again was a first. My wife commented the curry tasted a bit funny and within an hour of getting home the curry all I can say, soon parted company with my wife. Also on arrival my wife bumped into a friend who just eaten and was leaving, she told my wife not to order pudding as she had ordered a pudding and whilst eating it discovered plastic in the pudding. So I don't think my experience is isolated.

Went for sunday lunch. Lovely atmosphere and people however long wait between starter and maincoarse. Parsnips so sweet and sugery and peas underdone. Wasnt too busy. Was ok but wouldnt rush back

We came on a Thursday evening at 7.15pm and were told we can’t order food as they’ve got a group of seven coming. Last order for food is 7.45 and the pub closes at 10pm. Ridiculous! Lazy manager, otherwise a lovely pub.

Half empty and they have closed the kitchen for food orders for at least 30 mins, apparently the nice weather has “taken them by surprise” and they can’t cope, seriously? Supposedly a pub that prides itself on food.

Amazing friendly staff, the food was also very very nice, one of the BEST crumbles I've ever had, i would highly recommend, we will be back soon thank you 😊

Very ordinary menu compared with this restaurant years ago when it was a place for a special occasion.

Firstly I’d like to say the pub its self is very well presented. Good decor and modern. The staff was also very friendly and always available. The presentation speaks volumes on the customers that it attracts, brilliant atmosphere of families and couples having a good time on a bank holiday Sunday. We sat in the orangery area which was lovely and quiet, my only niggle was the sticky tables and it just needed a general wipe down and clean. I found the ‘keep warm’ blanket basket and jar of dog treats a really nice gesture to customers and their furry friends! What made us book here for a Sunday meal was the curiosity of somewhere close to us and new! The photos what gets posted of the food makes them look ‘proper’ however I will say don’t be fooled by the photos, the quality isn’t there. Our food wasn’t fresh, which for just under £15 for a main meal on its own we expected homemade chips and Yorkshire puddings. Majority of my chicken Sunday roast tasted microwaved. The puddings on the other hand was top notch, couldn’t fault the sticky toffee pudding and custard. All in all, if you want over priced pub grub and no riff raff it’s the ideal place.

Very dog friendly, amazing food (recommend the melting cheese pot or halloumi fries), super friendly staff and such reasonable pricing. Look forward to visiting again and attending the quiz night with our pup!

Booked for a meal here ....arrived and many things not available on menu because they were changing it....which is fine but they could have emailed to express this prior as would have been tempted to go elsewhere. However the food was ok. Nothing special but also no complaints about what we had. The place (maybe because it was a weekend) was very noisy with a party happening and other groups of people celebrating things, wasn't a relaxed atmosphere. Prices reasonable. Enough parking. Outside beer garden available backing onto a new housing estate. The website makes the place appear more upmarket/gastro but in reality it wasn't. Would not go on my list of places I would want to go back to unfortunately.

Disappointed! Late Tuesday lunch for 3 couples. It was fairly quiet. Awful customer service, clearly the person who served our table didn't want to be there. Very brusque and not a smile in sight! The food was no better. Smallest portion of mash with the pies and hard peas, plated without any thought regards presentation, that wouldn't have made it taste any better I admit. It hasn't improved since our last visit earlier this year, will not be trying again! Nice place, could and should be so much better!

I liked the food, the service and the dinning room. We wanted to have mocktails so I asked for the drinks menu and there was a selection however no prices. When they came the glasses were full of ice and to be honest the drink was quite tasteless. When the bill arrived it showed that the drinks were £7 each. Subsequently we found out that the drinks weren't mixed but came out of a can. Very disappointed 😞.

Just been for lunch and was very impressed with the food in fact I have too say how brilliant it was the hunters chicken melted in my mouth and the wife's meal was very nice. The apple and rhubarb crumble was beautiful. Big shout out to your team to should be very proud of your staff including the kitchen team 10/10. Another great trip to the Three Cottages! I went this time with a friend for a quiet lunch. We hadn't booked but they were attentive in getting us a table - the service was great. I'd call out how fab this team are!!
