The food was exceptional. Considering it is a local pub, the standard of food was something you would expect to receive in a well established restaurant in the town centre. Service from the staff was excellent and the atmosphere was warming. Seeing families and friends happy, relaxed, and enjoying good food without a rowdy crowd ruining it. Definitely recommend 👌

The food was great. I love Italian food and it’s not often you get authentic Italian cooking at such a reasonable price.

In for the Manchester Derby. The free food at half time from the landlady was quickly snaffled, and greatfully appreciated! Bigger TVs needed and more chairs - but let's not be too picky when United win and City lose

The place is an absolute mess at the moment with the temporary owners. It's run down and unclean, the toilets stank of pure amonia. Lets hope it gets bette after some money is spent on it by permanent owners

Absolutely shocking service from the waitress. Went in last night for a celebration with about 35 of us in total. If this pub wants to be successful they should 100% have a reshuffle of the waitress. Totally rude, it felt us being there was a total inconvenience for her, when we were all spending a lot of money. We had to ask for everything including our cutlery, my bill was given to me whilst she was on her mobile, not once did we get offered deserts and just her general rude to us all. We only live around the corner but won’t set foot in there again, nor would I recommend. Her attitude actually matches her outfit as she looked like she was dressed for the beach :(

Outside looks nothing special, inside I was really surprised was just passing and had to check it out the guy behind the bar seem friendly enough but seemed like he didn’t want to be there . Limited open times? This place would be fantastic for sports and food - get the outside looking nice and your onto something special

Used to be a sound pub before it changed hands, since then younger staff are sound but older ones have a terrible attitude with customers, wont be going back.

Myself and other family members used to go here quite often, however it has since got new owners and we went in again expecting a similar service. We couldn't be more wrong, two members of staff were very rude to our group and we ended up just walking out on them after we saw them sniggering to each other behind the bar. I wouldn't go back if you paid me.

Limited selection of drinks on tap & in the fridge. Food choices are pretty standard for this type of place (see website), and hardly inspirational whilst being expensive. Atmosphere is generally subdued even though it's normally fairly busy. Too soulless to be a decent local, which is a shame as the area could do with one. Not one to bother with, unfortunately.

I visited for the first time in 20 years and was very pleased with the restaurant and fun friendly atmosphere. Fantastic customer service and fabulous pizza. Me and my friend shared the Thornberries Special Pizza with chunky chips. Plenty for two people and was delicious and the bill was surprisingly reasonable. Definitely will visit again.

Always eat here, grt service, grt food grt atmosphere. Never had a bad meal yet. Love the fillet steak, pizza's are gorgeous. Also do kids meals

My friend & I enjoyed a tasty well cooked meal but it was chosen from a scruffy food splattered menu. Would it not be a good idea, certainly in the current climate, to spend a few pounds & laminate the menus so they can be wiped clean after use? Also, there was an horrendous stain on the carpet which I'm sure was there last time I visited several years ago. Just a few little edges which need tidying up bit wouldn't stop me from eating there again.

Had a really good meal with the family. Great food which was reasonably priced. My steak which i ordered rare was cooked to perfection, the stone baked pizzas are excellent and the kids all enjoyed their meals.

Was looking forward to go going to my mother-in-law's 73rd birthday and enjoying my meal with family but the owners ruined it for us .we have been to the restaurant 3 times this week and spent a combined £500 + over the week and have enjoyed are times in their. staff are friendly and food is lovely but on Sunday the 18 of April we went for a meal and had a child in are company who wanted a adults meal obviously in a smaller portion but the owner refused to accommodate us and charged full price as adults meal I found this approach towards us as unwelcoming and not very accommodating as we have spent a lot of money and would continue spending money but to charge a child £16 for meal was not the cind if treatment I expected . fortunately I do not think the current owner / tenant will not be a success with this approach and the numbers of customers reflected this .shame lovely food / staff

Amazing food 5star ) lovely staff ) been in 4 times this week spent well over £500 pounds on food n drinks with family had a lovely time until tonght wen we went again and one child that was with us Whois only 3 only likes curry we asked could they do us a small plate of curry for him and they refused and we paid £16 for it for a child ! Really made me realise that this is not a welcoming place and we are not valued foe our loyalty and precious expenditure ) today we spent another £300 beteeen us ! We will not return due to this ) I value customer service and base my perchusing power on excellent customer service. Which we have not received ) May I add the waitresses are lovely especially Kelly ) what a shame the greediness of ownership results in this ) compliments to the chef ..

Food is Great 🙂 pity front of house staff have a bad attitude. Visited today and experiance and service was shocking. I would only recomend this outlet if you like bad attitude staff!!!!! Owners please train your staff. Its us customers paying your wages and bills!!!!!

A Decent boozer to visit sells nice food but a bit on the pricey side.

Ordered tapas take away for my family, the food was nice but felt very small portions for the money and also forgot one of our dishes we had paid for, when I tried to ring (a few times) no one answered so never got the extra dish which left us quite disappointed.

Had a great meal here last night. Good range on menu and with the addition of tapas. Pizzas were very popular. They are following all the regulations and enforce them in a polite and reasonable manner. Staff are very helpful and friendly. You need to book as every table was occupied whilst we were there. If you've never been you should give it a try!

Having visited previously but not for food since new owners we went for food and a few drinks with friends Everyone ordered different dishes and each was as nice by appearance as they were by taste. Portions more than ample and service was pleasant with friendly helpful staff. I am already deciding when I will go next and what I will choose from the menu. Beats many other way more expensive establishments highly recommend

First time since lockdown. Menu included all the regular items plus the addition of tapas which was excellent. Unfortunately other than sanitation stations and one way system,there seem to be a lack of precautions, staff not wearing any form of pipe.

Been in here today. So very disappointed. Used to love the place. Food was microwaved and just not nice at all. Such a shame.

I think it was great!!!, Being in the grill place as a family get together for a buffet, I loved it. The chips were great and so were the chicken. Quite salty but I loved it all, especially the coke cola it was PERFECT! 🤤❤️❤️❤️😍😍🤩😁 AND there was nothing wrong with any of it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Unfortunately on the day we had lunch at Thornberries, the pub was seemingly in the middle of a refit with a number of windows being replaced during our lunch period resulting in customers and staff all keeping their coats on (as it was a very cold day outside), however as always the staff at Thornberries gave us a lovely warm and friendly welcome. The service was quick and efficient, and on the whole the food was good, and we had a very enjoyable time, thank you.

Food was good and the staff are lovely. Easy going atmosphere with friendly people what more could u want.

Called in for Sunday lunch and was not impressed. Beef tough as hell and carrot and swede mush. Wife had the steak and was served with frozen chips. Not good enough really been a fair few times but wont be going again soon.

Great place, never been in, great pint very nice staff, decent food i actually met a girl who works there I haven't seen since she was 17, that's 23 years and she recognised me! Nice to meet you again 👍

Very friendly staff, under new management and the food is a lot better now, very well priced, nicely presented and always give you just enough portion size to make you feel nice and not bloated. Reasonably priced drinks and loads to choose from.

I visited today with my mother and my daughter. I last visited a couple of years ago when under old management and said we wouldn't go back. The food today was absolutely excellent. Fish was massive. All food was absoluetly red hot whereas a lot of places i have been to the food is warm if lucky. The service was excellent and they were very accommodating. The environment was very pleasant and tranquil. They were even happy for my adult disabled daughter to have her meal from the children's menu; which from experience of other venues are often reserved for the under 12s. I would now highly recommend that people give this venue a try . i will be surprised if you are disappointed. I do not usually write good reviews to be honest i usually highlight faults but this is an exception. Well done.

Updated:- Now in new ownership by an lovely family who really make a difference. Excellent food and service. Locals will recognise the original owners of " Tea Cup". The clientele has also improved, and it's great to find a nice food place in Middleton not selling Lees beers. Well worth a visit for a meal or daytime snack and coffee.

Visité el viernes y tuve una comida encantadora con la familia. Tienen un excelente almuerzo de Navidad de 3 platos para 19. 95) Las porciones son generosas y el personal muy agradable y servicial. La nueva gerencia / propietarios están haciendo un buen trabajo. El bar estaba lleno, pero lo mantienen separado del restaurante, por lo que es un ambiente agradable en ambos. Asegúrate de reservar!

Much improved bar/ restaurant. Night out with my daughter, had couple of drinks and decided to have a meal, restaurant very nice, tidy and clean!! good choice of menu. Presentation of food was superb and most enjoyable!! Staff nice and friendly. Will definitely be back.

It's a very nice clean bar, not eaten there yet but I believe the menu is on the change, more Mediterranean. Will have to wait and see.

Pasé aquí ayer para un delicioso almuerzo. Un buen menú con algunas ofertas encantadoras. A un precio razonable y muy sabroso. Si hubiera alguna crítica, podríamos haber terminado con más de una espera entre los entrantes y los platos principales, y los platos se limpiaron mientras uno de nosotros todavía estaba comiendo. Made a last minute reservation having just got back from Crete. We were hoping that they had some greek specials on the board and were not disappointed. My wife and I selected lamb kleftico and mash and my daughter selected the salmon with rice and veg.
